Not the best bbq spot we have been to, but the location was great! I had a hard time giving 3 stars, as the service was wonderful, and our waitress was so sweet! :) However as for the cons, the price was too expensive for what you get, and the taste was just “okay”. Overall not bad, but not worth going again due to the price/overall quality. Could have just been an “off” night (due to it being during the ABQ balloon fiesta), however might give it another shot if in a bind, due to them being open late.

Updated review: it’s *very* rare for me to give a bad review (out of almost two thousand reviews). Downgraded from 5 stars to 3 for now. We visited tonight for my dad’s 74th birthday, as is our usual tradition. My mom set a reservation online somehow and she got txt confirmation but the hostess said reservation wasn’t listed. My parents waited outside early (before opening) to ask for a table by the window. The hostess was so rude to them. Told them “no reservation listed and to step aside and wait. No guarantees.” Remember they were first ones inside. She sat everyone in the line first and sat us in a corner and was so rude to them and us. Our server was nice so there was some redemption but it almost ruined dad’s birthday. Hostess (young girl with dark hair wearing a mask) needs to be talked to about disrespect to older people and customers, who are human beings. This has always been one of my favorite places in ABQ. The barbecue is really good. They’re a little on the pricey side but I think family and fun times when I think of this restaurant. If you’re in the Albuquerque area, come try this place for really good barbecue!

We arrived & ordered appetizers at 6:30pm and didn't get our appetizers until after 7:05pm. I checked online the day before to make a reservation and it wouldn't let me. The friend we met up there with, called shortly before we wanted to come in and they let her make a reservation. Not sure what that's about. Our appetizers were very delicious. The bread came with a small basket of prepackaged butter and honey butter. The queso fries were slightly spicy but not bad for someone who doesn't like spicy. Our main dish didn't come out until 7:30pm which we were told was because there was a group of 50 from a bus, who came in (after we did, we noticed) and kept reordering so for some reason their group got priority over others in the restaurant. That did not make us very happy. We didn't see our waitress often but she seemed to do the best she could. Got us water refills towards the end of our meal, to go boxes, offered to bring us a container of the BBQ sauce which we loved but they don't sell. She also took a moment to take pictures of my friends and I. We'd go back, the food was really very good, service was okay, our server was kind but others , not as much. They did offer us a discount on our bill for the inconvenience of waiting so long for our food.

Edit: lmao, I just discovered that this place is actually Texan... As a Texan, I'm ashamed to say this...no where near me has BBQ quite this solid. I've traveled all across the country and eaten at many BBQ joints big and small but this place was something special. There was only a 20 minute wait to be seated for a table of 2. Trevor was quite possibly the most attentive and service minded waiter I have had in a LONG time. He had excellent timing with everything AND appeared to have a full section. The food, 10/10 I ordered moist second cut brisket, sausage and pulled pork and could not have been more satisfied. I have to be honest here though, the meat was so good I never even dipped or dribbled any meat in their sauce. The review would not be complete without an honorable mention of the house made loaves of bread. MY GOD, it was good. Tall and thick slices of moist near cake like bread served with margarin and a whipped honey butter. Hope this helps, and I know if you decide to stop in...you will not be disappointed. And make sure to ask for Trevor!

Great barbecue! I enjoyed the tap of the day; which was a smooth Cerveza. We split a brisket tacos appetizer and it was a good indicator that the rest of the meal was going to be quality. Following that I had a 1/2 rack of beef ribs; they use a great rub and the smoke flavor was rich throughout. Good chance I’ll visit again next time I’m in town.

I’m leaving my review here since I am not able to contact you via the form on your site… My husband chose to dine at your establishment for Father’s Day. It took a bit to be seated and we understood the demand due to the holiday. After a 40 min wait for a table (party of 4), we ordered rather quickly so we could eat, we were starving! It took another hour practically for our food to come out! The waiter apologized a few times saying they’re “backed up” and our food is coming soon. I wasn’t impressed when it finally did come out, my tenderloin medallions were over cooked and dry (I ordered them medium rare). My sons burger was also over cooked and appeared to have been sitting a while due to the way the cheese was hardened on top. We ate since we were already starving and were eager to leave the place. We had to flag down another staff member to grab our waiter for the check. The cherry on top of it all was getting sick immediately after and needing to head home because of it. Overall, this was the worst experience and sadly my very first, dining at your establishment. We spent over 2 hours there and it was not worth one single minute.

Of all my years living back home in Austin, I've always passed by the county line BBQ and never ate there . This is my first time having it here in Albuquerque, and I have to say it was a great experience. The food was delicious 😋 I definitely recommend eating here you will not regret it

Not to say that I was disappointed, but I certainly was not impressed. Luckily we decided to order dishes, instead of "all you can stand", as their beef rib and brisket moisture was not well seasoned, and dry; pull pork was also not well blended with gravy. One thing good about this place is their pork rib and their location 😁, it's up on the hill, if you're seated by the window, you get the view of the mountains.

Just wow. Located at the foothills of Sandia Peak. The pork ribs, their three chilly stuffed pork tenderloin was filled flavor. Our waitress was friendly, helpful and patient. Served is with a smile. Hot brownie and ice cream OUT OF THE WORLD. Must TRY. DONT MISS THIS. Homew bread warm and yummy. Tortilla and the Salsa so good. Get in here and try them out!

Literally the worst bbq in all of Albuquerque. I should have left after tasting the water. It was chemically and disgusting, much like the food. I had the 5 meat combo and none of the items were good. NONE!!! Bbq was bland and hard, except for the turkey which was gross and mushy. The brisket was dry as a bone. The pork ribs were hard and gross. Beef rib was flavored weird. Chips were an ungawdly color of yellow. I literally wasted 1 while hour for the worst meal of my life. Other tables that came after me were served before me. The waiter was a rude young male with shaggy hair. Another red flag I should have watched out for. He never checked up on me or even cared why the food took so long. This place is worse than Rudy's. Bad food and bad service.

A+. The serving size and price are incredible by comparison to where we come from. Every plate at our table was impressive. Our servers were on point and it was clean (to include the bathroom). Be advised the portions are very large

It had been a while since we had eaten at the County Line BBQ as it is a bit out of the way for us, but we always remembered how wonderful it had been. We took a Sunday drive and found out that it was just as fantastic a dining experience as before! The service was excellent as was the BBQ brisket, pulled pork, BBQ chicken and loaded (and I mean loaded) baked potato. A extensive menu with so many options made deciding what to order a culinary adventure. We also found the dining room atmosphere to much more comfortable, cozy and appealing than many restaurants in ABQ. All in all it was truly a treat and we will make sure to be back now on a more regular basis!

Our group of six enjoyed a wonderful meal here on a Sunday evening. We had a reservation for 5:00 but there wouldn't have been a wait. Everyone on the staff was very friendly and our server took great care of us. Drinks and food came out with perfect timing. Between the six of us we tried every meat and most of the sides, and it was all delicious and flavorful. Also very plentiful quantities of food for what I consider to be reasonable prices. We live on the other side of Albuquerque so we aren't often in the area, but we'd drive back soon for sure based on our experience tonight. It was too chilly for the patio, but it looked really nice and had great city views.

The server was extremely rude and threw our plates at us when he brought the bread and salad. He was a young kid. The food was good, the steak was made to perfection

We went to eat with friends & family the other day & to save a little money from the rack of ribs entree I decided I'd order the appetizer ribs & a side salad. Little did I know the SIDE salads are $7! Totally ridiculous (& not listed on the menu) our waitress did not inform me that it would be the exact same cost to do the appetizer & a side salad as it would cost to do the entire meal & get an additional side. Is it her job to do that? Not necessarily but is it good customer service? Absolutely! Especially because the price of the sides are not listed. Little efforts make a big difference in the service industry & in life.... I also do not agree with one ticket on groups of 6 or more..... also the Mac and cheese felt like it was from the day before & the chicken was too dry to eat even in sauce.

Excellent taste and variety. Fast and friendly service. We are never disappointed. The peach cobbler with vanilla ice creams was awesome

I *really* enjoy County Line BBQ. The hosts and servers are a delight, and the atmosphere is welcoming, casual, and lively. The menu offers a lot of options, and the sides are very good. I've only tried the smoked beef ribs and smoked pork loin -- both were a bit dry IMHO, but still very good. It could be the difference between other regional BBQ styles vs Texas-style BBQ, IDK. I'll definitely keep going back!
