I have been going to tea regularly. The staff is well trained, monthly menu amazing and the atmosphere a welcome retreat from the busy day to day. Their gluten-free menu is outstanding! I appreciate that they list all the ingredients for each item of the menu to help with one’s allergy issues.

🧁🍵FOOD: satisfying and filling. Mostly sugary and lactose-heavy items, but I came prepared. I think you can pay extra when booking for just savory items. And I know they'd accommodate some dietary restrictions. ⭐SERVICE: if you want to be left TOTALLY alone, pretty sure that wouldn't happen, but the whole experience is lovely. Lucia served us my first time, and at least she was informative, inviting, and accommodating. I get the impression they all are. 👒🫖ATMOSPHERE: Honestly this (including in the shop area) may be my favorite part. I didn't get a good look at every room, but it's obvious they've really created a unique aesthetic. Antique shop meets vintage boutique meets BBC drama sitting room. Right up my alley in eclectic taste. ❤️OTHER NOTES: nice hand towels in the restroom and warm ones at the end of our experience that smelled of lavender or something similar, sugar cubes, free tea samples, and lovely items for sale at a wide range of prices put it over the top. ⚠️My ONLY true complaint is between the end of one experience to the start of another, it could get crowded. But I'd go again.

Our first visit to the St. James Tearoom for high tea was everything I hoped it would be - and so much more! I honestly can't say enough good things about our experience this evening. From the moment we entered the property, my daughter and I felt completely at ease. Everything was just perfect! From the staff, to the atmosphere, to the place settings, to the food, and (of course) the tea. Our server, Neveah, was so sweet and knowledgeable. Everything we nibbled and sipped was scrumptious! The best part was having the time to spend with my daughter. Precious time together to chat about life. #stjamestearoom #tea #time #motherdaughterday

I'm not a big tea person, but I enjoy going here. The service is great with everyone being kind, friendly, and knowledgeable about tea. They tell what each tea you're served is and what pairs well with it. The food is delicious with a few exceptions that are just not to my liking. They have differently themed months and my personal favorite was the Shire theme from the Lord of the Rings in November. The atmosphere is nice with what image is an old English feel to it. I personally feel it's a bit overpriced, but I may not understand or fully appreciate how great the tea and foods are. I think it's a great place to go a few times a year and I do recommend going here.

I went here on August 12th during my anniversary trip to New Mexico, and wow! I wish I had a tea house like this where I live! I had put myself on the waiting list, didn't think I would be able to go, and when I got a call about an opening I was so excited. This is the place to go if you're in Albuquerque. We had Dani as our server, and she was awesome. All of the staff I interacted with were beyond accommodating. The food and tea were so yummy, and the private room was amazing. I want to purposely come out here again in December for my birthday, because they made me and my husband feel so special on our anniversary. If you have the chance, please go! You won't regret your decision.

This is an AMAZING place to visit, we did the World of Wizards theme and we were so impressed with this adventure. We really felt we were in another place and time with HARRY POTTER WORLD - highly recommend and a MUST DO AGAIN with other themes

Thos was the absolute best and most romantic place to take your lady! The food is so good. The presentation of everything was perfect! There was so much depth to the flavors of the food. The teas are amazing. If you're looking to fill her heart more than your stomach, this is the place. I'm already planning the next reservation. You can't go wrong with St James tea room!

Beautiful experience! I love their monthly themes. My favorite is Recipes from the World of Wizards and my new favorite is from their new menu for July: Tea from the Hundred Acre Wood. Elijah was our server, he was very kind and polite. Excellent service.

This place is magical and unique. We never had tea time before, and this experience made me want to come back for more! The tea is amazing. Our favorite was the Daybreak Tea - I highly recommend it. We had the July menu, Tea in the Hundred Acre Wood, and all the savories, breads, and sweets were delicious. Our server, Sophia, was amazing. We will visit again!

This was such a fun experience. The servers are very kind and knowledgeable and set good expectations for your experience. They were able to accommodate a table with vegetarian, nut free and gluten free options. The food was delicious, the tea was amazing, and the whole experience was fantastic. Will be going again :)

I had such a wonderful time. We went in mid December and I still think about the yummy food, teas and atmosphere. I was impressed with everything! The service was amazing too. I can’t wait to go back in Feb. It’ll be a regular for me from now on.

It was a very pleasant experience! Friendly staff! Signed up for the wait-list and received a call the next day to reserve a spot. You get 3 teapots, each paired with delicious bites of food. We all definitely got full after finishing. Also, don't feel rushed while here, you have 2 hours to relax and enjoy. Just a heads-up, rooms aren't entirely private but are enclosed with curtains. You'll hear other parties there, but it really adds to the environment. Definitely would revisit.

St James is a must visit in Albuquerque. I make sure to come every time I visit. The food is amazing and the service is always incredible. This is definitely the best tearoom I have ever been to. It's perfect for date night or girls night.

I remember this place when it was located in Old Town and had fabulous experiences with loved ones. That was more than 15 years ago and this experience did not live up to my expectations. It seems contrived. Immediately you’re greeted and ushered into a gift shop filled with overpriced items. They cram a lot of people into the scheduled times. For the price, it wasn’t worth it. I guess you pay for the experience and it felt like we were crammed into separate seating areas with a curtain for a barrier. Years ago we’d have name tents with special fonts acknowledging the special occasion. Now it’s printed on a piece of paper - not even nice handwriting. I have my memories and fab experiences from Saint James Tearoom from the past. This one missed the mark. At least they don’t expect tips. It’s more than $50 per person with small savories and sweets. I did enjoy the tea, scones and clotted cream. I didn’t like a lot of the savories. In the future, I’ll have my English tea time experiences in London. It will be less expensive and I’ll get more of what I like.

The location was quaint. As soon as you walk in they have a variety of teas for purchase, as well as hats, accessories and lots of tea sets. The staff is warm and friendly. Each tea party has its own space separated by a curtain for privacy. The tea time experience comes with 3 teas and a 3 teir plate of goodies. The food selection was good, I liked the names a lot better. This is the third place I've tried in Albuquerque for tea. I would rank La Quinta at Los Poblanos first, then the Ivy Tea Room second and this one last. Try all three and see if we share the same POV.

This was my 1st visit this past weeked for my mom's birthday. It was a fun experience. We had Karis as our hostess and she was great! She did a really great job and left a lasting impression.😃 I hope to return soon. Would definitely recommend this place if you never been.

This is the most incredible dining experience I've ever had. I loved the theme, customer service was beyond exceptional and the food was amazing! I'm gluten-free and it was the best I have ever had. Everyone was nice and accommodating. We did not have left overs, with the exception of the tea (3 pots is a lot for a couple). The tea was unique and flavorful. I came for an anniversary dinner. We were still hungry at the end, it is carb heavy. My only suggestion is adding a bit more protein. I honestly cannot pick a favorite item. Each platter was absolutely delicious!

Take a step back in time when having tea at the St. James Tearoom. This was such a cool experience. Every detail was well thought out. The food was delicious. The tea paired perfectly with the food. The decor really made you feel like you were at an old English manor. The seating felt private. All in all, I highly recommend for a different experience whether you are celebrating a special occasion or simply just want to treat yourself.

This place is a gem very much like a London tea its amazing. Very relaxing environment and the workers are amazing there, very soft and soothing voices love it. Every time I go I just love it more and more. And the food is so very good. The different themes they have every month is so much fun, really looking forward to the Christmas Carol theme 🥰

My first time to this establishment. My daughter, Kelly, recommended that I try it because she knows that me and her brother love tea and her mom and sister love snacks. Let me tell you, not one of us were disappointed! Themed high tea! Our theme was Narnia and the savory tea sandwiches, scones and sweet desserts were named after the characters in the movie. During the meal, three pots of different teas were brought in and served to us in delicate tea cups, lumps of white and brown sugars along with cream were on the table and I must say, my son and I had our fair share of tea! The each pot of tea was served at the perfect temperature for drinking and it was hard to decide which we liked the best! Now, you may think that one would not get full on finger sandwiches but we sure did and there was six in our party! There were several other parties there that day and the rooms were divided by heavy curtains which could be drawn so that there was privacy. Couches with pillows and comfortable armchairs let us dine in complete comfort and our server was simply the best and made us feel like nobility as did all of the staff! There was also a gift shop where I will be doing my Christmas shopping and a section where teas of all sorts were being on display for sale! This was truly a magical experience and I highly recommend St. James Tea House for birthdays, anniversaries, dates, mom and dad getaways and get togethers in general. Try St. James soon!!!!

My husband and I love the experience we have each time we book here. Being an avid reader, their themes are perfect. This is a wonderful place to slow down and enjoy life and each other. It is a pleasant place to leave the crazy and dark scene of the modern world and settle into the moment in peace. I gave a 4 on service only because when I inquired on a Spode tea set they carried (that matched dinner plates that I already have) the older women working the front area was dismissive and inconvenienced by my inquiry, so they lost the sale. Perhaps she assumed that my husband and I could not afford them. We had to order online at Spode instead of support local. It was a significant investment. Nevertheless, the rest of the people there were friendly as always. It is one of my favorite places to be in Albuquerque.

We don’t get out much, but this is an experience worth waiting for. So many great things to say about the Tea Terrace and all the special touches for celebrating important occasions- birthdays, Mother’s Day, friend’s day. The shop is amazing even if you can’t book a reservation. Best tea selection and so much more. The passport program is a great way to earn rewards. All the staff are wonderful over the phone and in person. The website is fantastic for viewing menus, booking dates, and learning more. Well done all the way around and certainly a hidden gem in ABQ.

The tea room experience is so nice. We get to relax, taste wonderful treats, and enjoy each other's company. The menu says it all! My favorite was the curried pineapple pastry.
