Monday evening, about 6pm. The wonderful employees at this location were slammed by drive through and dining room orders. Myself and other customers were all noticing that a manager was sitting in the back stapling papers and generally not caring that the peons below him were working their butts off. It was over a half hour wait for food. Maybe instead of putting out job applications on your pretty table, you can help your employees a little bit, yeah? I would give this place five stars for the great food and the amazing employees that are overworked and more than likely underpaid, but corporate is only going to notice the one star rating that this manager deserves.

I haven't been in years since the crawdad bites, and won't ever go back. Waited inside 25 minutes for my food. Upgraded my combo with the gourmet Mac and Cheese and what a waste of 90 cents. I asked the manager about the portion and he snapped at me about them using a corporate scoop and that's as much as they serve. Just lousy service for subpar food.

Staff and Management are not very acquitted with the term fast food at this location. Me and my party got trapped in the drive through for nearly an hour waiting on just 3 sandwiches. They said they were understaffed, but I saw at least 5 people in the front of the store, and it only makes sense that there would be at least 1 or 2 more people, but thats arguable. The management of this store must be some of the laziest I’ve seen in fast food. Not only the wait time but the cleanliness was horrid. They had staff members going from registers handling money and touching screens straight to handling food without hand washing or gloves. Its also strikes me as ironic that they claim they’re hiring, but don’t hire those who apply because they’re “under qualified”. Just get it together. Update: this is how they treated my food after waiting an hour. Slapping it together

One of the worst experiences of my life. I would give them negative stars if I could. I placed an order through the app. I got there about 20 minutes after I ordered. They were insanely busy. No problem, I was patient as they printed my order once I arrived and hung it up. I am very, very patient when it comes to busy and stuff. I was there 30 minutes when they started calling people who went in way after me. So I went and asked about my order. I saw them move it from the END OF THE LINE and start working on it. I waited another 20 minutes as more people got there orders. There were TWO other customers that commented on me still waiting. They came in after me and already had their food. I'd had enough and asked for a refund. She starts apologizing and saying it's busy. I told her it's because they had my order at the end of the line and started working on it 20 minutes ago. I'm going to file a complaint directly with their corporate office, as well. I was there 50 minutes, and if you add the 20 minutes it took me to get there, it was an hour and ten minutes after I placed my order, and they still didn't have it ready. That's not busy, that's incompetence.

Popeyes is delicious! Friendly customer service and a delicious menu with lots of options! What's not to love! I've tried several Popeyes in different states including Louisiana. This New Mexico location wins my heart because good food is even better with wonderful customer service with smiling faces! Top that off with a lemonade and everyone is smiling!!

Waited for 30 minutes in the drive through. There were 4 cars ahead of me when I placed my order. This is a relatively short line to what I usually see when I drive by. When I finally arrived to the window, I was told that if I wanted the other two pieces of chicken that I ordered 30 minutes ago in the drive through, I would have to wait an additional 20 minutes. They explained that they were short handed. I said that I totally understand being short handed, that’s not a problem. I do however take issue with the fact that you only have 3 of the five chicken strips. If you could make three, why could you not make 5? That does not require extra personnel. I was told that they don’t count the strips when they put them in to cook. Also not helpful. Now you are either wasting food (to sit under a heat lamp) or are not making enough food for your orders, resulting in 30 minute wait times in your drive through. I was then told that there would be a 7 minute wait time but that now it was probably less since I was talking to the manager. I asked for a refund for my wait and was told that she would give back my money but then would receive no food. I waited for my food. 40 minutes from the order box to receive my food.

They need to get more employees. I'm leaving this review because of that. The employees they do have are good and the food is Popeyes but every time I've been in there it's been a crazy wait. So employees you guys are doing good but Popeyes needs to do something to get employees in the doors whether it be signing bonuses better schedules or a pay adjustment.

I usually don’t leave comments but I was very disappointed by my visit this evening. Tonight I went through the drive through and waited 40 minutes in line. When I arrived to the window I waited an additional 15 before I received my food. While waiting outside I noticed it smelled like they had burned something but I didn’t think twice. When I arrived home and started to eat my chicken it smelt burnt and even tasted burnt. They apparently didn’t change the oil when they made my food. I tried to call to complain and ask what can be done because my food is not enjoyable, and the line continuously beeps as though it is busy or disconnected. I made a longer trip because I live in Albuquerque and this location usually does a good job. It is upsetting to see that neither of our locations are ran well.

Great experience with the team today! Called about half an hour after the store opened because I couldn't place an online order (too big). Was instructed on easiest way to place order. I ordered 20 individual dinner boxes & expected to pay & pick up a little later. Although the store was short staffed they still had the food ready in about 30 minutes after my phone call! This location was getting busy & they could've turned away my order, as most other restaurants would have, instead they were super accommodating. Outstanding customer service from Victoria & Shantel!

We opted to go inside as the drive thru was about 10 cars deep. Two different customers left before ordering which made our wait time about 15 min. Looking around the dining room only one table had their food. It literally took 35 min to get our food, AFTER placing our order. I don't necessarily blame the employees, they were doing the best they could, but it seems their drive thru orders were of more importance then the walk in customers. After getting our food we took it home only to be even MORE disappointed in the quality. Super greasy and their portion cups were filled half and 3/4 full. Such a waste of $42, I won't be going back anytime soon. Management really should do their part in balancing quality food and customer service.

8/20/23 - we purchased chicken, and again, it tore our stomach up. They must be using old grease. Foe what they charge that should be using new fresh grease to fry their chicken. When traveling and stopping at Popeyes, we have never gotten sick.

First time trying the chicken nuggets and let me tell you they were fantastic!! Cooked to perfection and the taste is mouth watering. Mac n cheese were fresh and taste is like no other.

Food was good. The service was so-so... they were apparently out of regular chicken (as opposed to the spicy) but didn't say anything until I was waiting for almost ten minutes for the order. When I went back to the counter to see if maybe I missed them calling out my order number, then they tell me it'll be another 5 minutes or more until the regular was ready and did I want to get the spicy instead 🤔. So naturally not having a lot of time for lunch settled for the spicy. They could've informed me of that right off the bat and I would've had much faster service. Note: At lunchtime keep both kinds ready. The fact that a full cook time was necessary tells me someone wasn't paying attention to having one of the two most popular items on the menu ready!

The food as always is very good. And the staff is usually very friendly. But, the main issue that I continue to notice is that they don’t always get the orders prepared correctly.

This Popeye is located on Coors. I ordered the 3 piece combo chicken was very small and dry, the biscuit was dry the mash potatoes where cold had no taste. The young lady who took our order was pleasant. I'm not sure if I would recommend this place, I hope they take more pride in there food.

First you have to remember that good food isn’t super fast food. If you want your food to taste good it’s going to take a little longer. I have been to Popeyes in England, TX, MS, CO and LA and this by far is the best one. I figured that the one in the heart of LA would be better because that’s where it originated from but they don’t come close to this location. Every time I go to ABQ we have to get something before we go back home and it just melts in your mouth. Soooo good!

Food is so-so. The lady behind the counter had a gross attitude. She started to throw chicken in a box, and I told her I'll wait for a new batch of chicken and fries. She said it'll be 20 min and I said OK. She threw the chicken back in the holder, and flung the box on the counter. I almost walked out, but since she wasn't cooking it, I waited, got my food and I'll never go back. The energy sucks every time I go there, but this was the worse encounter.

Picked up chicken only in the drive-thru. I ordered both hot and mild chicken, and they were flavorful and crispy. I missed ordering the mashed potatoes, I love the spicy kick to it...next visit for sure.
