Carne adovada burrito was not hot enough for my taste. Pork seemed a few days old. This place was recommended by a friend so I will try it again. Baked chicken next time

I really like this gem of a restaurant. I've eaten here a few times and have tried the: Menudo, Beef Machaca Breakfast Burrito, Chorizo Breakfast Burrito, Shredded Chicken Enchiladas with red chile, 1/2 Chicken in Green Chile Plate. Nothing has been a disappointment. The menudo cane wit a generous serving of tripe and hominy and plenty of a tasty flavorful broth. The dishes feel homemade and the staff is attentive and friendly. My favorite so far is their 1/2 Chicken with Green Chile plate. Juicy chicken in a good green chile sauce. And their sides of beans and rice are great, taste fresh. This place is the real deal!

Probably one of the best places I've ever eaten at. Order and get your food 5 minutes later. I ordered the beef burrito and it was incredibly tasty.

I just discovered this lovely place and I was absolutely charmed by it. It’s authentic, the owners are lovely, and the food is absolutely delicious!!! They do breakfast and lunch so pay attention to the hours so you don’t miss out on this lovely little gem in the North Valley.

Awesome low key/hole in the wall Mexican joint. Excellent breakfast…quick service…and very friendly/hospitable staff. Show em’ some love cuz high quality independent businesses like this are becoming quite rare!

It's a small, cozy, little family restaurant just a short way from the intersection of Alameda Blvd and 4th St. Their main menu features baked chicken plates, either a half or whole baked chicken, complete with refried beans and Spanish rice, as well as flour or corn tortillas ! They also sell breakfast plates and burritos until 11:00 AM, and also feature different daily food specials !

Shredded beef burrito was excellent! Green Chili had a nice bite and great flavor. A definite return is called for. Talked to the owner, very nice lady. Said they make all of their own food except tortillas and they've been there 20 years. Longevity is definitely a sign of good 🍲 food! IMHO...

Went looking for Pollo Asado in ABQ. This is the only place that came up that still exists. I've passed by this place. Ordered the half chicken plate. Spanish rice, refried beans, chicken and a tortilla. Chicken was baked and moist. Tortilla was fresh. Chicken from the supermarket has more taste.

Great spot for chicken or breakfast. The green or red Chile half-chicken are both very special. Friendly, family atmosphere.

Stopped in on a whim as we were leaving town from the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta. The entire menu in this darling little restaurant looked amazing, but we decided on a couple of different breakfast burritos (chorizo & shredded beef). They were handmade to order (we both subtracted beans) and were DELICIOUS. The owner was so kind and friendly, checking on us often and asking if we liked her cooking. We LOVED it. We will definitely return the next time we are in Albuquerque.

Cute hole in the wall. Owner/staff were very friendly. Cozy and clean place. But when it comes to the food, Unfortunately I came in looking for that authentic southern flavor that you'd get along the border or at least flavorful food. Grabbed some burritos, not spicy at all, lacked flavor, tasted tomato sauce of what should've been red chile. This was typical New Mexican food. Can't even say rice (minute rice) or beans were to my liking. For what it is, 4 stars. But I know better now than to come in with my illusion for authentic flavor and food made from scratch. (p.s. I grew up eating homemade Mexican food, sorry but my palete expects more as these ingredients are not hard to obtain).

Very authentic, very good prices and when you walk in the door the great smell is the first thing you notice. It is a basic place, not fancy, those can be the best.

Homemade Mexican breakfast that warms your insides. Everything is homemade including the salsa and tortillas. The owner came out to greet us and ask us about our meal. Definitely a gem!! Great food and friendly people!!

What a little gold mine of deliciousness is this small, unassuming establishment in the heart of Albuquerque. From the chicken tacos to the fresh daily menudo to the buñuelos this place is a treasure. I come by every time I visit Alb and will continue to do so!
