When I relocated to New Mexico from North Carolina in 2020, a friend living here who also had lived on the east coast told me that I would probably miss green grass and giant trees more than anything. Boy, was he right. So what a lovely surprise when I discovered Roosevelt Park recently when I just happened to be passing by. Although now we are in winter and the grass is brown and the trees stand bare, I went for a visit and I absolutely loved this park. I cannot wait for the warmer months to come when this park will be green and lush. It was a nice day, by winter standards, when I visited and there were multiple small groups enjoying the frisbee golf course. There was also a group practicing yoga. I sat for a while in the park and meditated. There is a nice paved walking trail around the park. On the south end there are beautiful unobstructed views of downtown. There is also a playground for the kids. I really enjoyed my time spent here and look forward to future visits.

One of the most beautiful parks I've been to since living here in Albuquerque and I love the Disc Golf course here😁 big wide open area, half of it has the Disc Golf course and the other half is more family picnic bench areas where you don't have to worry about getting hit. Love the amount of trees in this park and it has a excellent playground for kids. I highly recommend getting out and enjoying this beautiful area in the heart of the city 😊

Nice park to be. Lots of space. It has seating areas to eat your lunch. I love the tall trees, lots of shade. A playground is provided for the little ones. Great hills to roll down. Down side, there are no public restrooms.

Great spot to tire out the kids, plenty of room to run, big playground and disc golf available. Huge trees are everywhere and friendly people to greet on the walkways around the park.

Absolutely the most beautifulest park in all of Albuquerque.... It seems to go on and on, never ending of Beautiful Mother Nature, Big Trees, Luscious grass, and rolls and rolls of hills.. Even play some Disc Golf!!!So pack up a picnic basket, roll out the blanket and relax for the day in peaceful nature..You will not be disappointed...

When I was a kid this park was so awesome. Times have changed but it is still a beautiful park. At my age I would not walk it alone. Stay alert and see it for the beauty it has.

Beautiful park. Lots of trees and grass. Playground is a bit small..kids got bored pretty quickly but took to rolling down the grassy hills. Also lots of frisbee golf players around so you have to watch out for flying frisbees, but all the players were polite and tried to be sure they didn't throw when kids were running in front of them.

This is a well manicured park behind a community college campus. It has huge cottonwood trees and a playground. It also has a Frisbee golf set up around the park. Tons of pokestops if you're in to that. Not fenced and dogs tend to be off leash.

Its a really interesting park with lots of big shade trees, with a really interesting disc golf course layout. It also has a lot of vagrants which tends to affect safety and trash build-up. Also no bathrooms so plan ahead. The disc golf course does limit half the park to flying projectiles so keep that in mind too. Parking can be a pain when it is busy.

Disc golf: looked solid (and the park's focus). Playground: smallish, but well maintained. Biggest bummer: no restrooms anywhere on-site.

Just moved to Albuquerque amd walked to check out this park. Met a nice group of men who were out with their dogs. Seems to be popular for people with big dogs to play fetch. Everyone was friendly and dogs were well behaved. Park has a nice disc golf course and spoke with some nice guys about it. All in all a great neighborhood park...green, shady, hilly--with some nice views from the perimeter.

There are so many homeless people. This lady kept dropping her towel which covered her bare bottom. A guy was peeing between the trees. It was an awful place. It used to be the best place to go with family.

First time playing disc golf and was really a good experience and nicely shaded for the activity. If it wasn't for the group ahead of us we would have been lost as all the holes run past each other and share same baskets. Keep your head on a swivel or you might get hit.

For a city park, it touches all the bases: playground, picnic area, walking paths, disk golf, history, and sunsets over the Rio Grande.

This is great park, does anyone know how long it's been since you could drive around the park?

  • 5/5 Jessica H. 8 months ago on Google
They keep it clean for the most part, and it's big enough that you can closely avoid the homeless wondering through now and then. The grass is well maintained. Most visitors don't mind your dog loose if he's well behaved, and you still clean up after them. It is half a disc golf park, so be mindful of air traffic! There's a separate area for the children, several spread out park benches tons of big shade trees and benches to rest at. A path that surrounds the whole park (which spans several city blocks) There are no restrooms, and you often see people just parked in the shade, looking shady or just eating their lunch or smoking a doob. A fantastic park you should visit at least once if it's your thing.

So hot and humid here. We were here July 15, 2023. Especially since its in a hole practically. Water fountains work. Playground was too hot for my toddler to play on she was sad. I recommend they put a canopy over it so it's not so hot for the kids during summer.

Lots of space to sit, eat and relax. There are plenty of trees to provide shade and the grass allows for a comfortable place to sit. Watch out though, there are people playing Disc Golf so you got to watch where you sit. No public bathrooms as well.

A pretty park to walk around. It has a lot of shade. If you want to walk all around it's about 15 minutes. Half of the park is only for a disc golf course. There is a playground and a fee tablesand benches. Sadly, there are NO restrooms and NO bike racks.

So tranquil. Early a.m. the robins and doves fatten on tree seedlings as pepitas. Their song cannot compare against the other angels in Silver Neighborhood. They burst on scene about sunrise which is 6:30 in May. They are able to gulp in puddles left behind from water sprinklers. Dogs are off leash until 10:00; most are adorable waggers as well. Everyone gets along. The disc golfers like me a polite bunch. Take care of you go and it's BYO water. Tranquility in a slice of city life should be on your partake list.

Super nice little park with a well designed disc golf course. I've never seen a course so busy though it was Saturday both times I went. Not a lot of places to lose a disc which is always nice. I would highly recommend it.

Pretty good park. Plenty of open spaces and a jungle gym to play on. This park does not have swings, baby or big kid, and the jungle gym could use a canopy or two to help reduce the heat it builds up from the sun.

A lovely park to walk around. It is usually pretty clean. Parking is hard sometimes... While walking my dog on a leash, another dog off leash ran up to her and started attacking her. If your dog is not friendly, keep it on the leash! This family got their dog and left. I had to take my dog to the vet and take really good care of her for 2 weeks because of her injuries. Now she is skittish around people and I will not mention the bill because I love her very much she is my fur baby. But a bill I did not want to endure and all of the medical supplies, time and emotional trauma has been tough. Some people ruin it for everyone! Think think think people....

This is a great park! We played disk golf here and the course was amazing!! It was a tad confusing to follow where to go next on the course but I am also a beginner at it lol. This park had tons of benches, lots of huge beautiful trees and shade.

Great park! It's incredibly hilly, so it's a great place to walk around and get some vertical walking or running distance. This park is gorgeous, so it's also a great place to just sit around. During sunset, the light catches the trees just right, and it's quite spectacle. There is also a decent disk golf course, just be aware that you have to look out disks!

Grass hasn't greened up yet. All tables taken so we had our Easter picnic on the ground anyway. Oldest and probably the most Anglo in the park. Heard more Spanish than English. Most everyone younger than us. Big families, beautiful little kids having a wonderful time. Loved it! Memorial Day 2022 update. Comparatively uncrowded today. Perfect temperature with light breezes. Found a table in the shade and, after picking up 67 pieces of trash, had a pleasant picnic with the kids.

One of my favorite parks. But I haven't been there in years. Looks like it is taken care of. They have a Frisbee Golf Course. Great place to sit on the grass and eat your lunch.
