Definitely worth the easy hike! Views are insane. Cabin is awesome as well, but I could see how mass crowds could ruin everything. We went on a weekday in October, and was not really the warmest or calmest day at all. There were two people there when we just got to the cabin, but nobody else the rest of the time. Made for great pics. The area around the cabin is cool looking too, with the almost bonsai looking trees scattered throughout. Worth the trip. We walked from the cell tower area parking lot. Had a decent elevation change but was a nice trail with pretty smooth and easy walking conditions.

Park at the southern end of the lower Sandia Crest parking lot and follow the old road/trail- it'll take to right to the cabin. It is worth the fairly level hike. Avoid during thunderstorms due to exposure.

This is a perfect day trip. Walk to the top and enjoy the views from the Kiwanis Cabin. The walk isn’t too challenging but it’s beautiful. We took the Grand Enchantment trail heading out but came back walking along the ridge. It was breathtaking and a favorite attraction for us in the wonderful state of New Mexico!

A nice hike to the cabin. Be sure to accommodate for the temperature differences between the shade and sun as well as time of year. The walk has a few animals you may encounter. Woodpeckers and several other birds. Some interesting beetles. For some variety you can mix and match the colored trails/paths such that you can create a change of scenery. The restaurant at the top is cool too. Sunsets near there are great. Don't get caught at the top overnight!

I got up at 5am in November and drove up here for a sunrise β€œhike” to this cabin. It was gorgeous that morning, and I found the cabin by accident. It was definitely worth getting up that early

Great view of the city. Good hike for less than 2 miles. We bring our chiwinnie and he loves the hike.

This cabin is a nice easy hike from the top of the tram. A fun place to hike with friends and family. It’s disappointing that people have vandalized it with spray-paint, leaving trash behind, and burning things inside of the cabin. Please be kind and don’t leave anything behind on your hike!

Very cool structure, unfortunately a little graffitied so it ruined the experience a bit. But overall a super interesting visit.

Great easy 1/2 mile hike for families with smaller children for people who are beginners. There is a steep incline towards the end by the cabin which people should be aware of. Lovely spot to take pictures and enjoy the view.

Really cool cabin but the hike could be exhausting for some people so be prepared.

Great place for a hike. The views are phenomenal.

A great hike destination, whether starting from the bottom of the tram or the top of the crest! I recently came here to view the 2023 annular eclipse and it was spectacular. Quite a few people were there, that day, but usually it's not too busy. It's often quite cold and windy up here, even in the summer, so I would recommend adorning multiple layers of clothing.

This stone cabin is a must to visit when up there from tram station. It is about 25-40 min walk. Every step of hike is worth it. Unforgettable views.

This stone cabin is nicely located near the edge of the mountain. It's a good place to enjoy the surrounding views and perhaps a sunset. Bring snacks, drinks, and a camera. You can easily climb up to the cabin's roof... not sure if that was the intention with how it's designed and built though. Regardless, have fun!

This is definitely the place to go on a hike from the tram. So worth it. Bring a friend and good tennis shoes. Few slick rocks so take it slow and safe if you have any ankle issues.

Parking costs money when you go up to the lots, but some people park down from the lots for free. The Kiwanis cabin itself is free to explore and the view is spectacular. Just be careful with kiddos

Cabin was average (similar to one in the Rockies). Views though were very nice. The hike is a good 30m to 60m each way. Being out of shape, it was a bit tough with the elevation, cold, and terrain. Pace yourself and you got this!

Beautiful place to hike up to. The views are amazing but it does get a little chilly up there. So take some warm clothes. The afternoons during summer are gorgeous with bunch of flowers on the way. Do visit.

It was muy windy up here. The hike is about half an hour from the tram. If you don't bring crampons in the winter, prepare to slip and slide along the trail as it is icy. The last climb to the top can be fun and intense. It makes you feel like you're on top of the world...

Omg'sh!!! Take the Sandia Peak Tramway!! It is so amazing a 5 star review just isn't enough, and it's well worth walking to Kiwanis Cabin, it's a walk easily for beginners. It can be very cold and very windy, dress accordingly and watch out for your hats. I recommend getting to the team early, there is always a wait. And you want to wait for the next tram to come so you're in front. If you're last to get on, you're gonna stand in the middle and miss everything. It's so well worth it.

Awesome short hike up at 10000 ft. About 1/2 mile from tram-dropoff/pickup

awesome place to take spectacular pictures for day and night. though cautious on trying to get up on the building very slippery and hardly any stepping stone to get up. kiwis itself is free to be there, don't know why the review has it. Sandia tram is where you pay at. well technically now online only

πŸ‘πŸ‘ I expected there to be water, but alas, I should have read previous reviews before hiking. The falls were really close and dry. At least they didn’t have litter or valdalism. We Co tied to the lookout on the long fork on Crest 13. It was relatively empty. We passed about 4 parties in 5 hours. By the...
