I hadn't heard of this place. I had asked someone where she liked to hike, and she said the foothills. So, later that day I looked at the landscape to see the hills, and found this park. I would recommend wearing hiking shoes (I was wearing sandals, and I couldn't go as high up the hill I had desired because of improper shoes). This is a very cool place even though it is close to a neighborhood. To me, it looked like there were quite a few regulars on the trail. I was surprised to see 2 road runners. I didn't know that they jumped straightvupbin the air.

I'm new to Albuquerque, and what a cool experience this trail is for me. I moved here from Colorado, the desert landscape will take some getting used to, and it has its own kind of beauty. I'm an elder with some mobility issues, and I was able to find a fairly level path. There seem to be various levels of difficulty to keep everyone happy!

Wonderful place to hike! Different levels of difficulty: easy, moderate and difficult. Enjoy wonderful scenery, all types of greenery and wildlife. Early Fall is a particularly good time to go. High 60's and beautiful skies. Not very busy on a week day. Bring water, no matter the time of year. Early November through April is when rattlesnakes are hibernating. Lots of trails!

Looking for a good hike? This is a great place to to do just that, awesome trails to follow with tons of scenery. You might even catch some wildlife if you get lucky. This is a fantastic place to get away and enjoy nature and take in fresh air. No traffic up here and it's pretty quiet unless you hear other people talking on the trail. This is a must do if you like hiking. Check it out!

Trails leading to the south foothills...A large network of awesome biking, hiking and equestrian trails in the south foothills of Albuquerque. Lots of technical sections for mountain biking.

Great hike. You can walk/run the network of trails in the valley or hike up some pretty intense trails up to the top for great views. And yes, behind the biggest boalder on top...there are more boalders hahaha. Worth it!

Parking lot is perfect location to pick up hiking and biking trails. Kind of wish dog owners disposed of their dog's poop correctly, but otherwise, outstanding outdoor trail system.

A place to hike and see nature, the New Mexico landscape is beautiful and has the southwest appeal written in it, one just needs to look in the warmer months remember to bring water for you and your pets

Started here and went up to Embudo at Indian School Rd. Up the trail and over the hill. If you take the right cut off, be ready for a steep climb. You can go up to the retaining wall and have an easier time, but it will add distance. Once at the top, if you take the trail around the top of the hill down, there is a couple of steep parts, especially once you get to the parking lot. Took the flat path down to Menaul. Right at 4 miles and about 900 feet in elevation change throughout the walk. Take you time and bring water, both will be necessary.

Lots of options. Our group did a small loop and it was great. Slight incline. Wide trail. Parking was easy.

Wonderful place for whole family to hike! Plenty of flat ground and hills for all levels of hikers/bikers. Several covered picnic tables with barbeques. Beautiful views!

There is great flat paths with some hills, nothing that's too straining. But there are paths that take you up to a very rocky mountain. It's great for mostly anyone. Pack tons of water and visit when the weather is mild (between 66-75 degrees). Use sunscreen if you decided to visit when hot.

Perfect for both my dog's my Shepherd because he doesn't get along with anybody very well and probably bite people So I welcome on the leash out to big open space and let him run and I stay close

I rate this trail "easy" and "loop" because the trail itself are both of those things. I always go into the mountains when hiking here. Trying to find a trail that starts on the end slope in the South side and ends on the NW side that juts out. Haven't found it yet, but I'm pretty sure it's there!
