Absolutely beautiful. The water is such an experience itself. The trails are amazing. There are many trails and paths 5o explore. There also a little beach closer to the water if you can take the right trails. 100% recommend. Best thing about it is, its free!

Manzano/Four Hills Open Space is uniquely placed between the Manzanita's and a southern boulder field of the Sandia Mountains. Summers can be extremely hot so it's best to hike early in the morning or later in the day. The other three seasons provide opportunities to explore a unique habitat of elevated chihuahuan desert. The space also includes impressive sunset views over the airport and expansive views of the city of Albuquerque. It's right next to Kirtland Air Force Base and plenty of dark skies. The area closes promptly at 10:00 p.m., and there is video surveillance provided by APD. Parking is provided along the street in the neighborhood. Please respect the residents in this remote location. Preserve the peaceful nature and solitude this open space can provide. I enjoyed star watching and was lucky enough to see a meteor heading towards Santa Fe. Take your time, look, listen, and you will find an ancient way of life around you.

Very clean trail. There were many scenic views along the trail. Mutt mitts (doggie poo bags) are available and they are better than the poo bags that you buy in the store. There are a few benches overlooking truly amazing landscapes. Bring some water 💧 and maybe some lunch or snacks. There are no restrooms or outhouses available.

About 500 feet and 1 mile to get to the top. Nice view of the airport and planes when wind is breezy out of the west.

If you are looking for a short nature hike, this is perfect! The views are great. Watch for snakes.

One of the best, least known hiking areas in Albuquerque. One can even view the former Manzano underground storage base from here!!

The Manzano / Four Hills Open Space area has a plethora of trails for your enjoyment. There are no trail markers of any sort and it is easy to get outside of the designated land. This is a pretty place to hike and is fairly busy with neighborhood foot traffic. You can make the hike as difficult as you’d like with use of the hills. Parking is limited as there is no actual lot, you just park at the end of a dead end road. Portions feel well-used by the homeless population however, we experienced no problems.

Lovely space, not highly trafficked. Tons of walking/running paths, and tons of rock formations along the way. The views are quite impressive as well!

What a great 8 mile walk! Good views and while there are rises, they are easy to traverse...wide, walkable streets to ingress and egress the trail.

This is a great place to go hiking. Tucked up in a residential area, there is no real parking area. We went to watch the storm moving in from the south. We enjoyed a beautiful panoramic view of the mountains as the storm rolled in. Has the feel of being away from the city without driving a long distance.

Great easier hike! You get to see both sides of the mountain for totally different scenery. Super short to longer, this one is good for anyone pretty much. There isn't much for parking, so most people have to park in the neighborhood, so please be courteous! Cool views of the city, the neighborhoods surrounding there, and even Route 66 / I-40. Nice sunset spot, too.
