Great hike to go and find some excellent climbs around. Highly suggesting starting early because descending down by the Needle is a lot of bush whacking. Excellent little hike to the saddle, beautiful but not difficult. Parking is also limited. Lot less traveled compared to the La Luz

This is a moderate hike that is a short drive from Albuquerque. The views are great and the trees provide nice shade.

Beautiful hike. Good climb in elevation so make sure to bring good shoes and water. No cost for the hike or for parking. We took about 2+ hours to go up and down.

Piedra Lisa-south to Waterfall Trail. From the Piedra Lisa-south Trailhead one must turn right after about .7 miles (there's a good trail that heads up the hill but is "blocked off", but the dry creek bed a little further down on the right works better) and continue for about another mile or so. You end up passing a pretty cool waterfall to get to the main attraction, both of which are fantastic. It gets rougher the higher you go (in some spots the (Coyote Willow?) leaves you one foot to fit through, although it's flexible and pretty easy to get through. It can be pretty slippery in spots, especially during winter.

This is a great trail to hike! Plenty of shade, there are some steep parts and the scene is worth it. Hikers along the! 😊

This is the best hiking trail I have experienced although I have hiked not much. The trail is fairly clear and prominent but not paved or artificial. Amazing views. When you get to the small stream trickling down don't let it distract you, we walked about a mile up it thinking it was the way to go (lots of footsteps) I was wrong. It wasn't busy on a Tuesday we saw a few coming down and a few going up but for the most part has the trail to ourselves.

Enjoyed a sunset hike out here in December on a nice day. Went up the trail for a few miles and there are paths that cross and look to be fun, especially the one that goes up Sadia washout canyon. The views were great and it was not too difficult.

GLIMPSE INTO HEAVEN'S TREASURES -- Discover solace from "Burque's" city bustle or extend your Santa Fe visit with a walk through the very vista views that inspired so many regionally famous creatives! Truly inspiration's point where a balance of utter silence is contrasted with nature's songs and gentle wind echoes dance on crisp canyon air. Scenic mountain and foothill views provide a rejuvenating freshness and clarity of mind, while a visual canvas allows for an introspective sense of spiritual self cleansing. WORD OF CAUTION: Sunsets are exceptionally majestic with expansive starry moonlight night skies... However cactus, goat heads, ravines & the quick onset of valley shadow hazards require thoughtful preparation for good footwear, headlamps, communication abilities and plenty of water. If unfamiliar with the tight windy mountain access roads, consider driving back down to Tramway before full dark.

Went up this with my wife on a Thursday in mid December. Not crowded at all. The hike is great but definitely some work going up and our hiking poles came in handy. Some snow going up but not too bad. Great views from the top.

It's a beautiful place to get out and get some fresh air with a beautiful view and the trails go on for miles. If you like a good hike with plenty of scenery this trail is for you.

Great workout as you ascend steadily thru partly shaded all the way in/up. Trail is moderate, with fairly regular patches where you have to step up and around rocky natural steps. You are rewarded at the top with beautiful views and crisp clean airy breezes (especially in late November!). Coming back down/out is a nice change of pace and you can enjoy the views more, although you may feel it a bit in the knees. Overall a great late fall or winter hike, but I wouldn't go up too late in the afternoon, as temperature dropped real quick as sundown approached
