On
April
3
I
booked
a
one-month
reservation
for
the
Manager's
suite,
for
April
20
thru
May
19.
I
booked
the
Manager's
suite
because
it
was
much
larger
than
anything
else
offered,
and
I
was
travelling
with
a
family
of
four
(incl
2
young
children)
and
a
Great
Dane.
When
we
arrived
at
the
hotel,
I
was
informed
the
suite
was
not
available.
In
fact,
only
4
rooms
were
available.
Nobody
could
tell
me
why,
but
the
suite
was
given
to
someone
else
despite
my
reservation.
No
effort
was
made
to
right
this
wrong,
other
than
to
offer
me
one
of
the
4
available
rooms
at
market
rate.
We
had
no
choice
but
to
do
so.
The
room
was
a
small
"suite"
with
two
twin
beds;
needless
to
say,
we
were
quite
cramped.
The
dishwasher
didn't
work
(I
was
told
half
of
the
dishwashers
in
the
building
were
out
of
order).
The
microwave
was
tiny.
The
bathtub
was
chipping.
The
inside
of
some
of
the
drawers
were
water-damaged
and
chipping.
There
was
nowhere
to
hang
a
hand
towel,
and
very
little
storage
for
clothes,
even
for
just
1
person.
And
overall
the
place
just
felt
grimy
and
had
a
musty
odor.
The
stopper
for
the
bathtub
drain
had
the
cross-section
of
the
old
drain
flange
still
attached,
and
was
so
corroded
it
could
not
be
removed.
I
brought
it
to
the
front
desk
and
asked
for
a
new
stopper,
but
was
informed
they
had
none.
I
asked
if
the
handyman
could
remove
the
old
piece
of
the
flange
so
I
could
use
the
stopper
to
give
my
kids
a
bath,
but
wasn't
given
a
definitive
answer
and
never
received
a
new
stopper.
On
our
3rd
night,
the
smoke
detector
started
chirping
around
bed
time.
I
informed
the
front
desk
and
the
gentleman
replaced
the
9V
battery.
It
was
chirping
again
minutes
later.
He
came
back
and
attempted
another
battery;
same
result.
He
took
the
smoke
detector
off
of
the
wall
and
told
us
maintenance
would
come
by
the
next
day.
The
next
evening
nothing
had
happened,
so
I
informed
the
front
desk;
same
story
each
day.
When
we
checked
out
3
days
later,
nobody
had
come
by
to
do
anything
about
the
smoke
detector.
We
spent
several
days
and
nights
in
a
room
without
an
operable
smoke
detector.
I
am
pretty
sure
that
is
a
fire
code
violation.
This
started
with
a
reservation
that
was
not
honored,
and
the
experience
only
deteriorated
from
there.
We
checked
out
as
soon
as
we
were
able
to
do
so.
This
hotel
needs
a
lot
of
work.
