We came in town from another state for my grandmothers funeral. We planned on staying for 4 nights booking 4 different rooms. Once we arrived we were notified only one room was available and it only had a king bed. The room was filthy, sheets had stains and hair in them and the room smelled like an ashtray. We checked out first thing in the morning and canceled the rest of our reservation. We were told we would be fully refunded minus one night. Now we’ve arrived back home to find out they never refunded the rooms and charged a $250 smoking fee. We didn’t smoke in the room or leave any mess. Horrible experience and service all around. This hotel deserves no stars and made an already difficult situation much worse. Do not fall trap to this place. Go right down the road to the Hilton Garden in if you would like to enjoy a comfortable stay.

Two stars, solely because the staff are nice and accommodating. Like moving me to a room that doesn't smell like a Cypress Hill concert. I'm traveling for business constantly and grabbed this last minute due to its location. Big mistake. My room had been partially clean. I know this because housekeeping left their broom and a pile of debris in the kitchen for me. The enhanced wifi is a joke. Broken tile in the bathroom, hole above the light fixture, duct taped window, and a broken card reader on the exterior door lead me to believe the owners invest zero money into upkeep and this place is packed. The owners should be ashamed of themselves and Extended Stay America corporate should reevaluate who they grant franchises to. This place is ruining your name.

We had the worst experience with extended stay America in Rio rancho New Mexico. The night desk person was terribly rude when we called to let them know we were running late. Then he was even more rude when we arrived in time to keep our reservation. The hotel grounds were dirty and had trash all over. The inside was malodorous. Our room was not cleaned well. The sheets were dirty and our dog found a dirty sock that was not ours!!! We checked in at 11:30pm. At 6am were were woken up but the rude night manager telling us to evacuate the building due to a smell. We could not take anymore so we checked out at 8am. Now they refuse to refund the rest of the reservation which was 6 more days!!! This was the worst experience I have ever had at a hotel in my life! Update: per their request here and via social media I have reached out to them multiple times. I have given my name, reservation number, phone number and email so they can contact me. I have received zero response from them. Update 2 years later: they refused to give us a refund on the remaining 6 days of our stay. So basically stole all our money and never gave it back. I often drive by this hotel and it always looks really bad. AVOID THIS HOTEL LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!

I'm only giving a two because the staff was lovely. I am sitting in the dark and there are no emergency lights in the stairwell. I'm 66, have 16 year old dog and have had to carry him up and down the stairs all day. You have a hard working staff but they cannot possibly take care of customer's in a building with serious maintenance issues. The owners have not taken care of this property, customers or staff..

This room was booked and confirmed online for my sons wrestling tournament. When I arrived in the evening at check in I was told they didn’t have my room, I asked why? and was told it hadn’t been cleaned.what?? They did say they had a king size room which was available. I assumed I would get this room at the rate I booked, since it was their error .. nope! Paid extra!! Then I was told a $200 deposit will also be charged, which was never mentioned while booking??. The Room was dirty, no towels ! Door keys didn’t work , If I could rate it lower I would ..

On April 3 I booked a one-month reservation for the Manager's suite, for April 20 thru May 19. I booked the Manager's suite because it was much larger than anything else offered, and I was travelling with a family of four (incl 2 young children) and a Great Dane. When we arrived at the hotel, I was informed the suite was not available. In fact, only 4 rooms were available. Nobody could tell me why, but the suite was given to someone else despite my reservation. No effort was made to right this wrong, other than to offer me one of the 4 available rooms at market rate. We had no choice but to do so. The room was a small "suite" with two twin beds; needless to say, we were quite cramped. The dishwasher didn't work (I was told half of the dishwashers in the building were out of order). The microwave was tiny. The bathtub was chipping. The inside of some of the drawers were water-damaged and chipping. There was nowhere to hang a hand towel, and very little storage for clothes, even for just 1 person. And overall the place just felt grimy and had a musty odor. The stopper for the bathtub drain had the cross-section of the old drain flange still attached, and was so corroded it could not be removed. I brought it to the front desk and asked for a new stopper, but was informed they had none. I asked if the handyman could remove the old piece of the flange so I could use the stopper to give my kids a bath, but wasn't given a definitive answer and never received a new stopper. On our 3rd night, the smoke detector started chirping around bed time. I informed the front desk and the gentleman replaced the 9V battery. It was chirping again minutes later. He came back and attempted another battery; same result. He took the smoke detector off of the wall and told us maintenance would come by the next day. The next evening nothing had happened, so I informed the front desk; same story each day. When we checked out 3 days later, nobody had come by to do anything about the smoke detector. We spent several days and nights in a room without an operable smoke detector. I am pretty sure that is a fire code violation. This started with a reservation that was not honored, and the experience only deteriorated from there. We checked out as soon as we were able to do so. This hotel needs a lot of work.

I'm giving it 2 stars because they always had clean towels and the cleaning lady is very nice. I'm not sure why they don't have more staff for housekeeping but that explains why the rooms are pretty gross. You cannot expect 1 person to thoroughly clean every room. The carpets are all very gross and have never been cleaned. The place also has cockroaches in here which tells you that it's not clean. Management could care less. I do not recommend. This is in reference to 2221 Rio Rancho Blvd.

I give this negative stars. The place should be shutdown. We paid for a month because the photos looked decent. Not so. We had to immediately go get an apartment. They expected us to live in these conditions and refuse to give us our money back. DISGUSTING. I will never attempt another extended stay. This was our first and our last. Dishwasher leaks, shower tile busted with mold growing behind it. Filthy beyond belief.

Got a room on Priceline, got there and they asked me for a deposit of 200 bucks, which I didn't have and was from out of town. Got my refund, front desk was about rude as can be, not people friendly. So, got stuck rooming with my sister and her family. Thanks Extended stay! You guys are far below the list of good hotels.

My apology! That wasnt a fair review. Without having stayed there, others reviews shouldn't affect our decision. Though we didnt visit or stay there! We were just looking online for a place close to our relatives home. We decided instead that this wasn't a the place to stay. Instead our sons reserved an Airbnb. It was good in comfort and privacy. Maybe on our next visit, we might reserve a room and judge for ourselves fairly. Thank you!

RSVP was not in place. No grab and go break fast, and was advised I had to pay a $200.00 deposit, which they did tell me when I RSVP and will take 2-5 business days to refund. Bed 🛏️ was hard to sleep in, kitchen had no silver ware , plates, bowls ... Remote control batter cover was in a Jorge with crumbs and change. No salt on icy sidewalks Not staying again and don't recommend, wow disapointed

Room was clean and comfortable and designed pretty well. We were placed in a room right next to a broken exterior door. (The electo-lock lock was inop). But the noise wasn't too bad. Staff are very courteous and competent.

Great location if you work at the Intel plant. I had the upgraded King Suite, everything was new and worked perfectly. I think this hotel might be under renovation, there were a few maintenance issues I noted in the hallways but my room was perfect. A couple of the door handles to the stairwell doors were loose and coming off, but otherwise everything has been great here. I will be back to this location again.

I'm a balloon pilot that comes every year for fiesta and have for approximately 12 years at this location. This year was outstanding! Adam and his staff couldn't have been better hosts. The hotel has gone through some changes* and I've continued to stay because of location and amenities. But as I said Adam and his staff were just the best! In past years it has been hit or miss but again Adam, thank you Molly, Michelle and all the others (whose names I'm sorry I can't recall)for a great stay. See you next year! Adam - please do advocate to put the recliners back. And how about a hot tub!! (You'd never get the ballooners out of it 😁

Moving back to Albuquerque decided to spend a night here. Figured would be better than staying in Albuquerque. Welcoming staff was nice. The bed was ok until the screaming down the hall started. Walk out to the local police dealing with a guest. Wake up the next morning to no hot water at all in the room. Go out to see what they had for their breakfast to find nothing. Will not recommend this location to anyone coming to town. Management has yet to call me in regards to my complaints either.

I had a issue with ants in the room I was in and they upgraded me to a suite within minutes with a view of the Sandias. Fantastic way to wake up and go to sleep with that view. My new go to hotel from now on when I am in town. Great hotel and customer service.
