Another fine mid priced hotel by Marriott. Clean, comfortable and convenient location. Within walking distance to several places to eat or drink, central to old town, museums, and the Sandia Tram. Very expensive during Balloon Fest.

Title: A Clear Case of Bait and Switch at SpringHill Suites Rating: ★☆☆☆☆ (1 out of 5 stars) I usually strive to focus on the positive aspects of my travel experiences, however, my recent stay at the SpringHill Suites by Marriott Albuquerque North/Journal Center left me with no choice but to share my disappointment with fellow travelers. The appalling lack of customer service I experienced was shocking, particularly for an establishment operating under the respected Marriott brand. Upon booking and pre-paying for a specific room type several weeks in advance, I was looking forward to a comfortable stay. Imagine my surprise when I checked in and was led to a room that was significantly below the standard I had reserved and paid for. The room I was given was not only smaller but lacked the amenities that were advertised for the room type I had booked. Even though it was obvious that the room given to me was worth significantly less per night than what I had paid, the front desk staff were completely unsympathetic to my predicament. I explained the situation, fully expecting them to rectify the mistake, only to be met with a dismissive "take it or leave it" response. There was no offer of a refund for the difference in room rate, no attempt to accommodate me in the room I had actually reserved or an upgrade for the inconvenience. I was left with the feeling that I was merely a transaction number, rather than a valued guest. The hospitality industry thrives on trust and respect for customers, both of which were glaringly absent during my interaction with the staff at SpringHill Suites. This blatant bait and switch tactic is not only unethical but potentially illegal, and I would strongly advise against booking at this property. There are countless hotels in Albuquerque that prioritize the comfort and satisfaction of their guests, and I regret not choosing one of those establishments for my stay. With so many options available, I implore fellow travelers to think twice before giving their hard-earned money to an establishment that clearly has no regard for honesty or their customers' satisfaction. Despite its affiliation with the Marriott name, SpringHill Suites Albuquerque North/Journal Center failed to meet the basic standards of hospitality. Save yourself the frustration and disappointment and book elsewhere.

We stayed two nights in Springhill Suites. Room was large, comfortable room with two queen beds. Quiet room on the 4th floor. The tv had a poor picture quality for an HD tv. Might be the satellite service. Breakfast was the usual low on yogurts, waffles only on weekends. Saturday breakfast was the same as weekday but the waffle maker worked perfectly. Bathroom has a Bluetooth speaker built into the mirror. Seems odd to encourage longer showers in an area so dry. Lots of parking around the building. Nice staff

Very good hotel. Helpful front desk staff. Clean and neat. Good, safe location in North Albuquerque. We have stayed here several times and will return.

Room is great, breakfast was lacking! A spill on the floor was there when I went to breakfast as well as checking out. Tables were dirty, waffles didn't cook, croissants were stale. Such a beautiful hotel but clearly lacking service.

We arrived to check in to our room that we had reserved a month prior, specifically called the location to reserve a handicap accessible room with a roll-in shower on the first floor as we are traveling with our son who uses a wheelchair. When we arrived we were told that those rooms were all taken & were only available on a first-come, first-serve basis. What is the purpose of a reservation if they do not reserve the room you requested? While the girl at the front tried to be accommodating & contacted her manager who approved a discount, it still defeats the purpose of a reservation and made life more difficult and has us assured that we will not be using Marriott in the future if this is their policy.

Stellar service, especially from Drew at the front desk. Decent breakfast in the morning. Comfortable beds and very clean rooms. Only down is they were $25 above the competition at Best Western plus.

Conveniently located hotel, relatively still new. Well-maintained. Mattress is too soft. Hallway near elevator is chilly. Breakfast is just basic.

The rooms were large and very clean. The rooms and hotel were very quiet. I always love Marriott bedding. Nice sized walk in closet. Small fridge ( no freezer) and microwave. The breakfast buffet was really very good with lots of choices. One of the better free hotel breakfasts we've had. The staff was friendly. Parking was good. We were able to come in late Sat night and park a truck and jet ski trailer with no problems. Highly recommend and would stay there again.

Excellent experience! The rooms were clean, modern and updated. The customer service was impressive and accommodating. We had a large family gathering for several days and the front desk personnel were friendly, helpful and went out their way to make us feel welcomed. Breakfast was tasty as well.

Stopped here after an exhausting 12 hour drive through slushy weather. The room was warm and comfortable. There were many small details that made the one of my favorite places to sleep. A nice bench by the window, a sliding glass between the desk and sleeping area. The beds were soft and linens clean. One of the best showers imaginable after our drive. Plenty of towels, body wash, shampoo and conditioner!

All the staff members are amazing. It is a 5-star experience staying here. Hotel is immaculately clean and rooms are large. Air conditioner is fresh and works well. Victoria is an amazing employee, she came and cleaned my room and was extremely gracious.

Used my points to pay for a Friday night in this hotel (24k points). Staff was friendly, rooms were soooo clean, and breakfast was fresh. Felt very safe here. On-site parking is free. I'd return here.

The rooms were modern, clean and comfortable. The service was friendly. The breakfast was perfect. I wanted low carb and my husband wanted carbs. I loved that there was limited plastics in our room. Wonderful stay

My 2 Star is because of the front desk staff! It dont matter what time it is they are freaking rude! I felt bad for asking a question! Just the look! The breakfast was excellent, pool was ok,gym was nice! Too many cockroaches outside at night! They are everywhere!😱😱. Cleaning staff was always busy and hard working along with breakfast staff! Was peaceful! Rooms were good too! Front desk you are in hospitality! Look up the definition and practice it!

We stayed here 4 weeks ago while on a 14 day vacation. Our credit card that we use only for hotels was compromised. Got a new credit card, started on vacation again yesterday. Checked into this hotel last night. Bam 1:30 am and they tried to use the stolen credit card all over again. They say the woman working last night is a old school Christian. 9:40 am and the hotel general manager is to busy to get into work. The front desk girl with hear tear drop under eye tattoo didn’t like it when I asked her to call the cops. Also rooms are nasty, look around the bathroom floor and you will see.

Bought and paid for room through Orbitz. When I arrived, they told me they gave away my room and made a reservation for me at a much crappier Marriott 20 min away.... I even confirmed my booking with them earlier that day. Very unprofessional. Jennifer at the front desk had a horrible attitude from the moment I was buzzed in from the outside intercom. Some people shouldn't work in customer service and she is one.

Great hotel with very nice rooms and staff. The breakfast was a little lacking as the waffle machine wasn't working but there was still a decent selection otherwise.

It was a great place to stay! The rooms were very clean and neat! Beds were comfy. This hotel is very convenient for parents or even people that are looking for a place to stay for the hospital, it’s connected basically to the hospital just with a overhead pass way to get to the hospital. I find this very helpful in the hotel because some people need a place to stay for there children!

Needed to go in person to a Chase Bank, with Albuquerque being the closest Branch to Pagosa Springs. Drove there late and wanted to stay as close as possible to the branch I was planning to visit the next morning, so that I could return to Pagosa ASAP afterward. I stayed at the Marriott, which was less than a mile away from Chase Bank. I was exhausted by the time I arrived, and the front desk was very accommodating, friendly, and personable. Fortunately, she lacked that zombie-like appearance that so many night shift hotel workers tend to have. She was very detailed on where to park, the location of my room, etc. My room was amazing. Too bad I wasn't staying for more than a few hours! Two giant king sized beds, a mini-business center, and a little mini living room with refrigerator and a coffee machine which actually worked. The bathroom was modern, contemporary, all glass shower walls, plenty of towels, and the water pressure was strong. Just what I needed after a long day followed by the 3½ drive to Albuquerque! The bed was very comfortable and room temp was perfect. Will visit again, should I ever re-visit Albuquerque!

Everything you would expect from a Marriott. Friendly staff, nice rooms, nice gym. Didn’t try the breakfast. Location is decent, lots of recents nearby.

Topher, a front desk associate, is heavily discriminatory and was so rude to my sister and her friends that he made her cry. They booked online through Marriott’s official site, came and presented their ID’s and credit card on check in, and he stated ‘they don’t rent out rooms to Albuquerque residents’, then proceeded to say that ‘when they were caught partying in their room’ (my sister and her friends do not drink) they’d be kicking them out. He said this was Marriott’s policy, which it clearly is not, and he was openly discriminatory and rude to my sister and her friends. My family and I stay with Marriott all over the country at least 6-10 times a year. We will never stay with them again. Update: After speaking with someone at Marriott customer service, we have been informed that much to our suspicion, there is no ‘no renting rooms to Albuquerque residents’ rule or policy, and that my sister and her friends were discriminated against.

Great hotel in a great location. Breakfast is mediocre and the elevator is sluggish, but the rooms and bathrooms are updated and the mattresses are very comfortable. Staff is friendly and welcoming.

Working for the Forest Service requires long drives to different regions. Often finding enough rooms for people on the crew is difficult so having someone like Angel this mariott was a godsend. Everything was easy and ready to go the moment we stepper through the door. Thanks again Angel

I absolutely hate traveling because of hotels, but this one is amazing! I would stay here anytime. Most important thing, it's clean! Very clean. And so spacious, plenty of room for your things and to move around. Beds are solid frames and comfy mattresses. Bathroom feels very clean and spacious as well. Highly recommend and will stay here any time I'm in Albuquerque. Oh, great location as well!!! And good breakfast!

Clean! Shower had good pressure and easy to get temp, pump shampoo conditioner and body wash and not those tiny sample sizes, Bluetooth music we didn't use but seemed easy to connect, bright lights at the sink. Lots of lights in the room including reading lights over the beds. Clean pool area, the pool wasn't huge or anything- no hot tub, but the kids had fun anyway. The pool towels are large and soft. All the staff were very helpful, friendly, and welcoming. The room was spacious and included a bed that pulled out from under the couch and clean linens for it in the closet. (Which had a light that automatically turned on when you went in.) The room included - mini refrigerator, coffee pot and microwave, tv, hair dryer, desk with desk lamp, lots of places to plug in electronics including USB ports. The TV could swivel on the wall mount to watch from either the couch or the beds. Breakfast included - eggs, sausage, oatmeal with lots of topping choices, fruit, hard boiled eggs, cheese and ham, bagels etc, cream cheese, Nutella, milk & chocolate milk, yogurt, and probably more I'm forgetting, It was quiet inside even though we were close to the highway. If we need to stay near Albuquerque again we would come back, and do recommend to others.

Not worth $300. The rooms are nice but basic if you ask me. The only fantastic thing I found about that room was a Bluetooth mirror in the bathroom but even at that so not worth my money!! For the price it should have had more amenities in the rooms. And there furniture and bed are so modern that there is no comfort. I'd say go to Residence Inn or any other Marriott for $100-150 cheaper, for better service and the experience! Not to mention I had already gotten the room through Expedia which cost me $300 and when I got to the SpringHill suites to check in the front desk lady had me swipe my card and charged me twice for the room at the rate of 260 so that night I spent $820 all together $500 extra that I didn't plan on spending and of course you got to wait to get your money back and what not. Which meant I had to stay in Albuquerque for two more days to go back to the office, to go dispute this situation with the front desk people and then the next day go back again and talk to manager. Mind you it took me 5 weeks to get my money back. Which I know it had to do with my bank but it was irrelevant and annoying.

A nice hotel. Love the rooms. Very clean, kudos to housekeeping! I did have problems with the heating/cooling system in one of the King suites. It kept coming on cool...very cool...and would not go to heat or even turn off. I was treated like an idiot by several people about it because they didn't believe I had done everything correctly to get heat. They figured I didn't know how to use a very easy thermostat. I finally got someone who gave me another room and later told me I was right. Someone had reprogrammed it to be nothing but cold, constantly, and they were working on fixing it. Her name was Angel, I think, and she did me right and I appreciate it. I also had concerns about an extra 40 dollar charge and someone did eventually get back to me with an explanation. I appreciate that too. So, despite the rocky start I had with being at this hotel for the first time, I liked the second room and the hotel. Breakfast was typical free fare, but it was cooked well and tasted good. Nice clean eating space. They also had chocolate milk which gives them total brownie points!! I would stay there again. Nice location too.
