Rose Island Abandoned Theme Park

Hiking area

👍👍 A beautiful place. My first time in the park, and we made the walk to Rose Island. Not a whole lot to see, but the signs posted at areas of interest are very informative. The trail is well maintained and absolutely beautiful. The hill to/from is no joke, but it is paved. If you're in good shape... People often mention trail, hike, steep, good, history,

A beautiful place. My first time in the park, and we made the walk to Rose Island. Not a whole lot to see, but the signs posted at areas of interest are very informative. The trail is well maintained and absolutely beautiful. The hill to/from is no joke, but it is paved. If you're in good shape, you'll break a sweat. If you're not, there are a few benches along the way for rest. The office/gift shop is your best bet for real restrooms. Or the bushes. Surprised there isn't a single port a potty anywhere near.

Rose Island itself was underwhelming. There were practically no remains left and many had been obscured. That being said, the remainder of the park was wonderful and my partner and I enjoyed our other hikes.

Awesome hike, steep grade. Trail 3 leads to the park as-well, if you’re looking for a more off road experience. Great for dogs. Recently they added new turn and listen speaker systems to the exhibits. Pretty cool

Really neat experience seeing how nature took over this park. It was a pretty hike even in February

I've been here 3 times now since 2020, and I still enjoy the hike. It's a good workout in nature, while also being a historical landmark. Honestly, it's hauntingly beautiful.

It's a good place to go for easy hiking, but there are not many historical artifacts left

A nice hike. A good way to spend an afternoon. My wife and I did not have any problems with the trail however we both enjoy fairly good health. It is steep coming out! Try to pick a day with good weather so you can take your time coming back up the steep trail. There are a couple benches along the way but you can always just stop and stand still to rest up. Take a water bottle and have fun trying to imagine how it used to be.

Loved Rose Island Abandoned Amusement Park!!! All the information and the pieces of history that remained here was awesome!!! I love places like this. Of all the places I've visited, this one is one of my favorites!!

You can FEEL the vibe of Rose Island as you walk the trail. Not much left but certainly enough to tantalize and wonder over what was 100 years ago!

Really cool and interesting piece of history walk and lesson all at the same time, going to have to go back and explore more

Be prepared for the road down/up steep grade. Park was beautiful and trail well kept, river side of main trail a little thin in places but in all nice step back in time. Will return.

Full day of history, beautiful views and friendly families. What happening place to be! Then and now life is great!

This was a really cool experience. The hill going down is very steep so keep in mind you do have to climb back up it in order to get out unless you take the side trail. There isn't much in Rose Island but signs with the history of what was once there. It's really interesting to see what it was compared to what it is and read (and listen) to the history of it. I would recommend going if you haven't as long as you're able to hike up a steep hill.
