Great atmosphere and amazing food. The lights were low and the place was pumping 90s rock, what more can you ask for? The food tasted delicious, seriously, get the caramel pretzel bites! Staff were friendly checking on the table often. Price was very reasonable.

Went here hoping to catch the St Louis Blues game turned out they couldn't get the game for some reason. We still ate and drank here . Bartenders were great . Very knowledgeable about the bourbon and beer available. The food was good . The hot brown was good needed a little seasoning but was a huge portion. The pretzels and beer cheese was good as well . Have some awesome bar table tops as well. Live edge tops. Really cool I would definitely go here again. Great spot to hang out fir a couple hours and watch a couple games

Came in after I got a recommendation from the hotel I stayed in, and found a great place!! It looks quiet from the outside, but once you get in you'll find a busy place with a fun and friendly vibe. Sat at the bar and had a burger, a couple of drinks, and two desserts. The food was great, the drinks were on point, and the desserts were delicious. Friendly staff, and a relaxed atmosphere made it a really great start for my Louisville visit. Next time I'll be in the city, I'll definitely be back!

Came in a little after 11am on a weekday. Were only a few people there and our first visit. We opted to sit at the bar, beer options were pretty good and they do bourbon flights, for a future visit. Chicken salad sandwich was good, maybe not the best I ever had but good. I suggest getting the bread toasted as the salad was a bit wet but I would get it again. Lunch mate soup and I believe the taco salad. He ate it all so....

Came in for dessert and a couple of drinks. The cheesecake was really good and what the prize. It comes with a shot which you don't find many places. Pretty cool atmosphere and definitely a place I would recommend checking out for food. Will definitely be back next time I'm in louisville!

We stopped in for dinner on our way through KY. I couldn't drive through without trying a hot brown. I was a little nervous because honestly the sandwich doesn't sound that good. Much to my surprise it was really good. The toast was still crunchy and the cheese gravy had a really good flavor. If you like burbon I highly recommend the troll fashioned.

Awesome atmosphere for the bourbon enthusiast. Their menu is EXTENSIVE. They have almost every offering you could wish for. Their impressive line of bottles in my photo can attest to that. I came here with my friends for a few drinks on our trip to Louisville and was very happy with the service we received and the vibe. The Troll outside is also a cool little photo op if you are heavy on social media or just want a funny picture.

Place has a decent menu They have an extensive drink menu Roast beef was a little dry and tater tots weren't fresh at all. Barely warm. Cocktail was decent. Salted caramel bites were good

They’re correct…..the Chicken Salad Sandwich was amazing. I’d opt for toasted bread next visit but the sandwich was still amazing. Also had the Club Sandwich on toast Sourdough with a side of tots. The iced tea was fresh. We opt to sit in the bar and we’re surrounded by TVs and all the college game day football available. Nice selection of whiskey and brew. I’ll be back.

On my way from Tennessee to Indiana, I had a hankering for some local Kentucky food. A quick google search revealed that Louisville was famous for a “Hot Brown” and this place was high on the list so off I went. It’s difficult to find parking nearby and when I did it was $10 😮 and the Troll Pub wasn’t easy to find either. It was tucked away in a basement with not a lot of street signage. It was the lull period between lunch and dinner when I visited so it wasn’t busy at all. Sat at the bar and had friendly service. My Hot Brown came out fairly quick and I dug right in. Then things went south. Not at all what I had read about or expected. Some sliced turkey open faced in bread with some sauce and one tiny thin slice of tomato. Ate about half of it and left disappointed. Would I try a hot brown somewhere else if I ever pass through again? Maybe, but not here. To their credit though, there were some other things on the menu that did look really good and this seems more like the place you’d come in for on a quick business lunch if you worked nearby or an evening of fun if staying downtown.

It was definitely a cool looking place. Bartender was pretty friendly. We got the loaded fries which were (eeh) okay at best. 🤷🏻‍♀️Drink options are plentiful. Hours seem to depend on business.

Hands down one of the best places in Louisville! This hidden gem has super friendly and fast service, delicious food, and a super fun atmosphere. Everything on the menu is troll-themed, as is the decorations all around the bar and restaurant. Food was great and well priced -- $38 for two entrees, including tax and tip. We'll be coming back for sure!

Wanted to check this out on a quick pass through Louisville. Cool place, loved the troll out front. But, it wasn’t super clean. The menus were sticky and the floors looked like they could use some attention. The menu is typical bar food, we ordered the loaded fries and they were ok. Only ate about half of them as they were a little soggy in the middle. But to be fair they did say “loaded” so there ya go. The beer menu isn’t up to date so make sure to ask if you find one you want to make sure they have it. Overall I would say go ahead and give it a try.

I'm visiting from Phoenix. Had a terrific experience here. Sunday football was the day. The beer cheese and pretzel dish was very good. The bartenders were busy but had great attitudes and were hustlers. The rest of the menu looked good too. I'd definitely return.

I really hate to post this review, I really do. TTUB is one of my favorites, but the truth is necessary here. Our meal here about a week ago was very, very disappointing, I had told my wife about The Troll Under the Bridge probably a year ago and finally got to take her. What we ended up with, was terrible service, sides that were a such greasy mess they were inedible and burgers that had absolutely no flavor. The coleslaw was delicious. I'm not sure how it's even possible to make beef without taste, but the meat literally had no flavor. Nada. The only reason I am going to give it two stars, is that I have a medical condition that required me to make a quick exit. I waited as long as I could for our waiter to come by, but could wait no longer. We went to the host table at the entrance and tried to pay there but there was no one for a couple minutes, so I had to leave without paying. Once I made it to where I needed to go, my wife went back and paid the tab. The staff and waiter were very understanding and very polite. Thus earning that second star. I wish I hadn't had a flare up so I could have expressed my dissatisfaction in person. I hope they can take this review and improve so others don't get the same service and food from a restaurant that was once a "do not pass up" place in Louisville.

My wife and I decided to try this pub as it was close to our hotel. What an amazing experience. We sat at the bar and ‘D’ was an awesome bartender. They have a tremendous selection of bourbons and other liquors. We each had a burger, I had the cowboy and my wife had the southern comfort, both were amazing. I wish we lived in Louisville as this would definitely be on our usual stops.

We went for office party as per recommendation from one of my colleagues and it was worth going. Food - was great and service was fast. Waiter was courteous and took our orders very fast. The ambience is great but little dark I felt . Best part is the sitting arrangement is done such a way you won't get disturb or noise from other table. Location is tricky for first time goers. I ordered chicken salad and chips and it was delicious. Worth every penni spent. Definitely going next time. Recommended.

We came here because we were exhausted and hungry after a long morning of bourbon tasting. It was close by and looked interesting. The first day we went the food was phenomenal. The poutine was made with roast beef and was extremely good. The chili was delicious. Tue service was top notch. The bar has several different areas. It is underground and has a really cool vibe. It was so good we came back the next day. The service was again really great. Unfortunately the sandwiches we got weren't as great as everything we had the previous day. I'd recommend sticking with the appetizer menu.

Off the main street on the backside of the building is this hidden gem of a bar. It's on the corner and you walk down the stairs into a basement. Such a cool old basement filled with history. One of the best selections of bourbon I've ever seen. Everything from cheap to very hard to find expensive options. Bartenders were very nice. Great prices as well!!!!! Definitely check this place out !!!!!

So fun and laid back! We came here for dinner after visiting Old Forester. We really enjoyed the pretzel with cheese and the burgers with fries.

Went here during my visit on a recommendation from a local. We did t eat there, because we had already eaten somewhere else, but felt we had to check it out. The bartenders were very friendly and helpful. They suggested a couple bourbon that aren't so well known and man, they were good. Very helpful and friendly guys. If I ever make it back to Louisville I'll definitely go back and try the food. Very cool place

Great pub down under a bridge, as mentioned! The server (Grace) agreed to be Auntie Grace & gave my friend’s little daughters a tour of the place! Excellent food & beverage selection.

Loved this place. It was recommended by a local. They have amazing old fashions. Great drink not for a light weight haha. The Kentucky brown was delicious. Hubby had chicken and waffles with sweet potato tater tots. The butter served with it was yummy. Neat little bar. Loved the atmosphere. I always trust opinions of locals. Don't forget your picture with the troll. Staff was great. Super friendly. Just trust me try it.

A very nice place to visit. Remember to take a photo with the figure at the front door. Staff is very friendly and passionate about all food on the menu. I tried the Angry Alfredo, which is a chicken penne with diced bacon and cheese. The spicy level is just perfect. I didn’t think it’s spicy at the beginning, but the heat will level up later. With chicken, bacon and basil, the dish has quite rich and amazing flavor. The portion is also abundant. I only finished half of it and take the rest home. They taste equally awesome as dinner after being microwaved.

The food is really good. The service was great. I definitely would recommend the Reuben. It was extremely good. The Burger of the month was a jalapeno popper burger which was really good. I would definitely recommend the sweet potato tots. They were awesome. Note: they serve Pepsi products. That was it really only subpar part of our experience.

So found this place. It's located in the basement of the old building, which gives it a Speakeasy feel. The food was great and they have flights of bourbon which is awesome. Worth a visit.

We loved the bar! The bartender was a bit over-agressive, loud and rude. Stopped in for an old-fashioned that I heard was delicious but it was made with an orange slice, no cherries and no simple syrup.(I don't think she knew what she was doing) They had no lettuce so there wasn't much to choose from on the menu. We will for sure try it again when we are in town tho.

Great bar/restaurant in a great location. The food was good. Fries were a little salty for me. Othe then that, it is a great place. Highly recommend when you are in the area.

The waiter was amazing and our drink and water were refilled right away which was impressive because they were in the middle of a rush. The food was great What I ordered they did not have the full order available. They communicated this with me right away and it was completely understandable and managed in a way that made it feel like the customers come first, and again the place was so busy. I was so very impressed with the wait staff and food. Amazing atmosphere and history. Would definitely return if ever in Louisville again. You guys are so appreciated

We went in as a group from work. The food was delicious and the server we had kept us laughing the whole time. It’s a fun place to go to get some great pub food and enjoy some good drinks. I will definitely be going again!

Been to Louisville many times, but never been here before. Met some friends (old and new) who came from out of town. The place serves lots of pub fare. The atmosphere is unique as the place is underground in old warehouse. We had our own little room and a great server. I tried the Angry Alfredo, a spicy penne Alfredo dish with chicken and asked the server to have the chef make it super angry. Mouth burning good!!! Others had burgers, chicken and other goodies. Though it’s a pub, it’s a kid friendly place and even has a kids’ menu. Delightful!! Don’t forget to get a pic with the giant troll out front. Worth a visit if you are in Louisville. There is a parking garage nearby.

Stopped in for lunch while touring the Bourbon Trail. We arrived right after a party of 40 (baseball team with families). Ashley, the manager, still found us a table and served us a delicious lunch. Highly recommend the poutine, the Reuben sandwich, and the Buffalo Chicken wrap. Service was friendly and fast. We'll be back for sure. Great atmosphere.

Such a unique and cool place. Underground dining on the site of what was once the original Galt House. Inventive, fun menu and very friendly staff. Found this searching Google for unique restaurants in Louisville and am so glad I did. Had a great burger too. Highly recommended.
