Jeff and his team and Bristol Bar & Grille Downtown went above and beyond for our group over the weekend. We were on a tight itinerary for a business trip and pre-ordered our meal so it was ready when we arrived. Jeff's communication about their menu and accommodation for us was very professional. This customer service extended to our arrival where we were greeted quickly and sat at our pre-arranged tables. Our server was clearly very good at her job and addressed our group with exceptional service. Our food came out quickly and was delicious. I am very impressed with the way Jeff and his team handled our group from start to finish. We will definitely bring our group in again to dine with them. Thank you and well done.

A very nice place to eat. We stopped in to try the famous Louisville Hot Brown. It did not disappoint. The thick cuts of turkey were tender and flavorful. The sauce was also very good. The Derby pie was still warm when served and has a delicious flavor. The wait staff was friendly and it is in a great location.

The dining area was very quiet during lunch hours but the staff and service were very kind and accommodating to everyone in the building. I wasn't expecting much since we stopped in for a quick lunch. However, I was taken aback by the richness and complex flavors found in the sweet chili linguini. The sweetness is quite rich at first, but combining it with a bite of the savory blackened chicken and the tangy pickled cabbage makes for a heavy and complex flavor profile. It is quite heavy on the stomach, but it is certainly worth it. The black cherry Manhattan was white delicate and balanced with just enough sweetness and little to no ethanol bite that made for a versatile sipping experience worth taking home to replicate. I'd be curious to see how well their dinner service is based solely on how pleasantly surprising the lunch experience was.

I am shocked this place isn’t a 5 star. 5 of us went for lunch. Very reasonable prices, great staff, cool atmosphere, great food. No complaints on anything we were served. Food presentation superb. It was like fine dining food and presentment with 1980’s prices. Definitely worth a try if in the area. Not farm from slugger museum.

We were walking along Main Street in downtown Louisville, this afternoon, when we spotted this fine establishment. We were seated promply, drinks arrived right away, and our order was taken. No fuss, no waiting. The southern fried chicken was excellent. Mashed potatoes, and collard greens. A little bit of gravy and that was that. My daughter had the Caesar salad, a nice full size, lots of green and shaved parmesan. My wife had the pulled pork sandwich, it didn't last long.

We are visiting from Florida and the place was packed. They were kind enough to let the entire family sit at the bar. Salmon 🍣 was really and my Hendricks, Tonic and Lime was fantastic. Bar tender was super friendly as well.

A very good place on Whiskey Row to grab a quick lunch. Or so it would seem. But first, we will go over all the high points. We were seated right away on a Saturday at noon, so that is definitely a good thing. It was busy, but not slammed. Greeted right away, and drinks were not far behind. Appetizers came quickly, as did the food. I ordered the Thai Chili Pasta. It was a very good dish and a good portion size. You won't be so full that you can't keep drinking, but you won't be hungry either. My wife got the Hot Brown. I would say skip that. It was very bland. It was our first experience with Hot Brown, and likely our last. When it came time for our check, our service suffered. I feel our good waiter went AWOL. It took quite a long time to get our bill paid. That is very annoying when you have places to be. Overall, it's worth a stop. Side note, the bathroom artwork in the men's room borders on bizarre. Check it out.

Came with bus tour today. Staff was wonderful! Food was great, from crusty, hot rolls and ceasar salad, main course, dessert and coffee. Try the sweet chili linguine, then the pie. Yum.

The Green Chili Wontons and Crab Cake sandwich are yummy! It was an even better experience because of the attentive service who brought fresh fries when the original ones were on the cool side!

Food was okay. Appetizers were better than the entrees. Friendly and attentive service. Good drink specials every day.

My dinner (the bourbon-glazed pork chop, which was one of the specials) was great. I'm not even a huge pork chop fan, but this was very good, mostly because the glaze was excellent. However, one of the people I was eating with got the burger, and apart from being fairly small for the cost, it was also thoroughly overcooked. Total hockey puck. They did remake it for him and the second was a lot better, so they did get it right on the second go, anyway. The menu isn't extensive and not much is under $20, so keep that in mind, too. The atmosphere is nice, fairly elegant but not overly formal, and for those who want an adult beverage there is a good selection.

Stopped here for a quick lunch while we were on whiskey row and it did not disappoint! I had the sweet chili linguine and oh boy was it good!! Not spicy at all and down right delicious! They had $5 spritzers when we're there. The Makers Mark one was delicious and a nice refreshing change up from all the tastings we had been doing.

Waited 6 mins to place an order at the bar with no one around, Burger week burger was just ok and the meat was a little burnt, tough to chew. The restaurant seems very nice, clean. I would try this place a 2nd time, but if the service was slow again it would ruin it for me to ever go back a 3rd time. For me, it's a stepped up classic diner menu and atmosphere.

This is a great restaurant in downtown Louisville. The food was awesome, and the potatoes were amazing. The services wasn't fantastic and our waiter had terrible breath. It was painful every time he talked to us.

I had their signature hamburger and it was excellent. It came with “skillet fries” which were sliced potatoes fried in a skillet. And they very good. They had a decent beer selection and a good selection of other drinks. Very good ambiance and the noise level was low during our time there.

The food was fantastic, and the service was especially good. We had a reservation and our group of five, including two with mobility devices, was quickly seated and greeted. Three folks had the special Wicked themed cocktail and we had the wontons for an app. Dinner consisted of crab cakes, from sh sandwiches and Hot Browns. Everyone enjoyed their food and we made it out in time to walk to the theater.

Bristol always delivers regular, dependable service. I eat here three times a week at least. The servers are always great and friendly. Recently, with the new chef, the daily specials have been amazing. Truly some amazing meals. Can’t go wrong here. In fact, one of the best meals I’ve had in awhile was a lobster sauce pasta that was the special awhile back with the new chef. I haven’t seen it since, and I can’t wait for that to come back again and could eat that every day. But you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Always worth a stop in for regulars like myself and tourists looking for a good, local spot.

Great service. We had dinner prior to Wicked and just wanted to not be rushed; quiet atmosphere; great food. We made a great choice. The server was great! Personable. Quick to help. The family had a great time.

Food was pretty good, a little overpriced (as, with tip, it was $60 for 2 people). I had a Ceasar salad and 2 (tiny) crab cakes; and my Uncle had a Hotbrown (huge) and some broccoli cheese soup, and tea (they don't have sweet tea, but they put some kind of syrup in it). Wait staff, Jennifer, was good, but he left his glasses, and I called the next morning, and no one could find them... I would go for lunch, maybe, as maybe the lunch menu prices are a little better? See pics on Tingle Travel Agency. Also, they close at 8 pm (FYI).

Was a great dinner to end 2022. Had the pork chop mashed potatoes and salad. They don't normally have thousand island salad dressing but the waitress was able to find some in the back(thank u to her) but the house ranch is pretty good as well.

The waitress ( Paige) we had was amazing. She was incredibly helpful, she made us feel comfortable asking questions, we had lots of questions but she would cheerfully go and find out the answers. She told us about drinks and food and make sure we had a wonderful experience. The food and drinks were really good too.

Burger week dissappointment, small portion, couldn't taste the smokiness described, looked like a preformed mass produced and pre frozen burger patty, lacked flavor, bun too dense, BBQ sauce was very little of it, barely speckled on any sauce had to ask for more. Sigh not coming back. Pepsi was great. Decor unique liked the outdoor patio and full wall windows. Doors to kitchen wide open loud as all get could hear them touch every plate pan etc. They might have better food but burgers isn't one of them.

One of the worst experiences at a restaurant that I've had recently, unfortunately. Sat down in a group of 3 for a quick bite and drink. The single bartender was clearly overwhelmed. Still took our order and got our drinks reasonably quickly. When the food started coming out is when things went downhill. The waiter put a burger in front of me, but right when I was about to grab it, pulled it away from me. He then proceeded to give it to another person. Then, a little later, he brought out more food and proceeded to give it to the wrong person. The guy that got the food even picked up the burger and was about to take a bite when the waiter said wait. He took it back and put another burger and an appetizer in front of him. This time, the guy told the waiter this second set of food wasn't his. He eventually brought it over to us. The burger was pretty good, though small. The artichoke fritters, according to my buddy however, were inedible. We were also charged for an extra beer, but by the time we noticed, we didn't want to wait for the overwhelmed bartender to try and fix it. Tl;dr: overwhelmed bartender, disorganized staff, solid burger (though small), and other food can be (maybe?) a hit, but also definitely a miss.

Never have had a bad experience. Staff is always Friendly. Brian is our wait staff server and HE IS THE ABSOLUTE BEST. ALWAY ASK FOR HIM. Hostess BEVERLY was A Dream. Best example of what a good employee should be. Best of Luck Me Beverly on your Retirement. You will be missed.

THE worst customer service. Hostess acted put out to put her phone down to seat us. Server did minimal serving. Dropped food on the table and never came back. Never asked if our mediocre food was good. We had to find someone to bring us our bill. I have no problem tipping good service. When I get it. Very disappointing.

We had a great meal here, early Friday evening. My wife and I both had the Ginger and Garlic special. It was fabulous! Our companions had a hamburger, which she said was good (typical burger). Another lady had the stir fry, which she loved. I didn't like the special blueberry Old Fashion, but the waiter swapped it out for a regular Old Fashion which I liked better. Over all we had an enjoyable dinning experience. Great service.

Everything here was just fine, but missing flavor that could've made the food more of a wow. I'm talking not super soft rolls, mashed potatoes with no flavor or creaminess, and pork that was slightly charred and overly sweet due to a huge topping of mini peppers. I think the fried artichoke was my favorite thing, but I couldn't say I would try this place again unless someone else decided to go there.

A fun stop worth checking out. We like the appetizer options, and settled on Green Chilli Wantons. Very tasty. I opted for an old fashioned and a vodka cranberry for my wife. Both were very good. Our server was very friendly. We'd stop again.

Our party of 9 enjoyed the delicious wontons, steak sandwich, blueberry old fashion, margarita, Theresa's Sweet chili linguine, hot brown, shrimp & grits, oreo cheese cake, bread pudding, ice cream and great service from Alex. We will be back.

After Event Dining We've been to charity events where Bristol Bar & Grille did the catering so we decided to try the restaurant and we were very disappointed. First, the side salad with the house made French dressing was inedible and the cucumbers looked like they had been frozen. I went ahead and ate the salad but I should have sent it back. My dining companion didn't have a dressing issue like I had. I ordered the Kentucky Bourbon Shrimp and Grits and the grits were of breakfast cereal consistency which was unappealing and it was overpowered by the amount of mushrooms and ham mixture. I did not eat the Bourbon Shrimp and Grits and just brought the entire meal home. My dining companion ordered the Grilled Bourbon Chili Chop which he said was OK. To top everything off the staff neglected to properly record our reservation through Open Table and I had to deal with the why didn't you show up letter when we were there early for our reservation. Overall dated decor, an older diner and inedible food. This is located within walking distance of many activities we participate in in downtown Louisville but we are not looking to return. Decor and menu needs updating.

I feel like if I write how bad this experience was, it may seem so bad that no one will believe me. Salad course 45 min after ordering, server told us they were out of blue cheese dressing. A minute later, we got our salads, but we were missing silverware. Had to find someone to get it. Salad tasted good. Entree course Food came out 10 minutes after salads, and I know that my food had been sitting under a warmer for a while. Plate was hot, but food looked old and chicken was lukewarm. Luckily, Teresa's sweet chilli linguini would be good if you found it on the side walk in front of the Bristol so I still enjoyed it. Appetizer course Never got our appetizer. After telling the person who brought our food (not our server), the server comes out and says, "Well do you still want it?" We say yes and wontons comes out in 4 minutes. Bonus points Not one single water refill even after asking. Had to go to bar to get our own waters. I constantly saw the server running back and forth but doing nothing productive. I'm pretty sure his other three tables were mad or upset with him. He never checked on the table, not after the salad course or entree. He only asked about the appetizer and that's it. That's why we couldn't get waters or silverware or even a goodbye from him after we paid the check. He literally didn't even say have a nice day despite the fact that we STILL tipped him 20% because my sister and I both used to be servers and we can't help it. There wasn't a possibility of taking to a manager either because we were almost late to our show at the Kentucky Center which started at 8pm despite having reservations at 6pm. Seriously the worst experience I've had at a restaurant in ages, and we had the pleasure of paying $30+ each for it. Side note: a week later, my parents went and had a fabulous time. So, maybe it's just this server. I have his name and the receipt if a manager wants to know.
