Don’t go to this trash bar. The door people (guy and glasses and wanna be queen with red hair) treat patrons like they are not welcome. Didn't like the attitude of the bartender working the night of Sunday, May 30, 2021 at 9:20 pm. Be more aware of your customers and surroundings. The atmosphere seemed nice. She was weak though.

Stay away from this hole in the wall. Turned away group of 12 bc someone had glass of water they claimed was illegal to drink on the street. “Bouncer” and bar tender were rude and made a group of out of towners never want to come back to Louisville. Like the scene from Pretty Woman … Big Mistake. Huge!!!

Me and my wife stopped by for drinks and sing, we went out to eat before hand and my wife had a non alcoholic smoothie with her. As we got to the door thier was a young lady sitting by the door and told we could not take our drink in. Fine no problem. I was fixing to go in with no drink and I was refused entry I was like I don't have a drink what's the problem? So we left and decide this was not the place for us.

If I could offer negative stars I would. Bad Karaoke! Vulgar would be an understatement. Got kicked out after the female bartender on 6/22/24 tried to open a new tab but already had one open… then tried to charge me the minimum on both!

I would give zero stars if possible. walked in at 2 am and was refused to be let into the bar that stops serving at 330am because the bartender said “no” “vips only” past 2?? they only let personal close friends in past certain times apparently. should be sued for discrimination. 100%

I was there in 2019 and they had a special for " Beam and a Beer" for 5 dollars. I blew through 50$ and ended the night fighting a bum. I pray they got rid of that. Nice environment

An amazingly lively atmosphere with live music and singing. The beer and iquor variety is huge. A timeless local bar with a very pleasant atmosphere and friendly staff. The pool table and dart board are major attractions especially for groups. The arcade games and pinball machines are a blast from the past and a pleasant one at it. As night draws on it gets more lively and crowded and the singing and live music rages on. Maybe it would be a perfect experience if they offered some fried pop fare snacks but that's not a deal breaker. Four stars for the friendly service, great atmosphere and great prices.

It pains me to give a 1 star, to a business I’ve been frequenting for 7 years. Me and the wife show up at 2AM, ID’s in hand. Door guy meets us inside as we walk in, checks ID’s. Proceeds to tell us they’re not gonna let anybody else in tonight. I confirm with him, they close at 4 and last call is at 3:30. I ask why they’re not letting anyone else in seeing it was only 2AM, as I’ve never experienced this ever at The Dive. He proceeds to tell me they do that now, to keep out the “riff raff”. Mind you, I was dressed in a button down, tie and slacks. The wife in a dress. I asked how they can determine who is the “riff raff”, and he proceeded to tell me they only let in people they know at night. He then walks up to the bartended and asks if he knows us, and if we can enter. The bartender declines. I ask him, “so it’s VIP only?” Door guy answers yes, and tells me it’s standard in Chicago too. As if that has any relevance to the situation at hand? Then proceeds to tell me he’s from the “L”neighborhood of Chicago and this is how it’s done. Clearly the guy isn’t from Chicago, and has no idea how to work a door at A DIVE BAR. Either change your hours, or change the name of your bar, because dive bars don’t have VIP lists. Extremely disappointed in the way The Dive is managed these days. I will definitely not be returning, and will not recommend it to my traveling friends ever again.

Cool place with nice ppl, but the staff are a bit full of themselves. If the door and everywhere else says open until 4am, don’t start rudely throwing everyone out at 3:30. Saying “we gave plenty of warning”, referring to having said something on the mic half an hour prior (to a, by this point, completely sh-faced crowd), isn’t an excuse for shoving ppl out the door without letting them get their belongings. There was at least one person who was forced to leave behind their bag like this. I get that you need to be firm with drunk ppl in a dive, but man… pick your battles

Just what the name suggests, it's a dive bar through and through. But would I recommend you stop there??? Hell yea I would. We had an excellent night there, even stayed till closing time, which is very late/early depending on how you look at it. Easily the cheapest place to get a beer. After everything else I'd shut down, and you still want a beer, this is the place. Had karaoke going on which was cool too. I've read some other reviews where people said they were denied entry or didn't get treated friendly, that definitely wasn't the case with me and the guys I went with. They were very welcoming and friendly. Ill definitely go back if I'm ever in Louisville again. Wish I had gotten some pictures to share, maybe next time I will.

The absolute best of the best of all that is a dive bar. Karaoke wed thru sat every week and the greatest service you'll receive in the whole of the 502.

Bouncer with the pink stripe is the most racist person I’ve ever seen! Please do not come here unless you want to discriminated against. I’ve never been treated with this level of disrespect so don’t waste your money here princess pink hates anyone that doesn’t look like her. Absolute mortified with the level of treatment this person has for a fellow human.

The 3rd Street Dive bar is conveniently located near Fourth Street Live, The Seelbach and Embassy Suites hotels. You'll find a pool table here with karaoke night being on Wednesday's I believe. Late night hours and cheap drink options. Haven't seen live music in here since Covid started which would give it another star if they bring it back.

If "so bad it's good" is your vibe, then this is the place for you. Had an absolute blast on a Saturday night. Karaoke was a treat to watch. The people were a real slice of life. Felt more at home here than I have in any bar in a long time.

Howdy, folks! Let me tell you 'bout the good times I had at Third Street Dive in Louisville, Kentucky. 🎸🍻 This hidden gem of a dive bar offers a rockin' atmosphere and ice-cold libations. Their lineup of live music will have you tappin' your toes all night long. The staff is as friendly as a band of pickin' musicians, always ready with a smile. So, if you're in Louisville, head to Third Street Dive for a night of good music and good vibes. Yeehaw! 🤠🎶🍻

I've Lived In Louisville, KY, 30yrs, This Year. This Place Is Not "New!", To Me. I've Sung Karaoke, Here, Too Many Years Ago. I've Visited, During Another Event, Too. Recently, I've Grown Tired Of Allowing Homeless Drama To Pull Me Under, & Hide Me From "Rehearsal Space", & I'm Putting This, Here, To Celebrate The Best Night, Since Returning To A Stage, & Mic. Karaoke Is From 9p, Until 1a - Wednesday - Saturday, & Hecklers, & Supporters, Can Use Song Choices To Express ThemSelves. Karaoke, Here, Is Like Being In A Comedy/Drama, Musical. Thank U!🎤

Visiting from Scotland U.K. with my sister we got refused entry at 10.30 guy on door had a very bad attitude to us both . We don’t recommend this bar to anyone hope the door guy comes to Scotland one day so we can put him right back on the plane home . It’s a shocking way to treat paying customers who are going to spend cash in your bar . Can anyone recommend some good bar’s for 2 Scottish girls please

We had a good time. Randomly met other ppl visiting the city. Then we all had a good time hanging downtown Louisville. Very cheap place, clean, and great to add to a bar crawl. Limited seating. And it gets packed in the evenings and weekend.

Was having a fun time until a two folks stole chairs from our table intentionally when we told them they were taken (our friends were on the dance floor). Those who took the chairs were part of the karaoke/bar crew and apparently were entitled even tho they just showed up. Had the bouncer throw us out when confronted about stealing our chairs. 4 of the six in our group are from Louisville … including me. Totally chicken $hit. They seem to have a major problem with people they perceive to be out of towners. If you don’t know someone who works at this bar … stay away!! Head to NuLu where you’ll see way more professionalism … something this bar doesn’t have!

Terrible place to bring a group! Too bad… downtown Louisville should be welcoming to visitors but we got turned away at the door! Would never recommend such rude service… the place was empty! Stevie Rays such a great place and wonderful service

The worst dive we have ever been to!! 4 p.m. and the owner was so rude and horrible. We tried to move a table in back room to watch football because they would not put game on at the bar....she completely flipped out! Literally picked up our table, hit my leg while doing so with drinks on the table. Can't imagine what my face looked like because was in complete shock! Do not spend your money here. Can't believe they are even open. I'm not one to give reviews even in a bad situation but this takes the cake!!!

One of the bartenders was so drunk that he told me he did not have makers mark when I asked for baker 107 and gave me 2 huge pours when I asked for one neat. He then told me he had everything recorded on audio and video and that I had said makers mark and 2 neat pours. I asked for my card back and gave up.

The best bar in town. Literally the coolest people. Chillest environment. Good drinks and good times were had here!

This place is perfect for a late night party I normally would not give a "dive bar" 5 stars. But this one lived up to its name. The place was as expected and kinda cluttered. My group moved some tables together and had a blast. Bartender was on it and got all our drinks fast. She also was the MC with a microphone behind the bar. There is a pool table off to the side room with a T.v. and the best part was the food truck outside.... When downtown Louisville. Put this one one your radar.... i will be back

It was very busy so seating was limited but it had an inviting vibe and the karaoke was very entertaining. Loved the street art.

$10 minimum so not a good place to stop in for just one drink. Also, bring your own glencairn if that's what you prefer to drink from as they don't have them. Bartenders are nice.

Hands down the best bar I visited on my trip to Louisville. Went twice. Covid restrictions are not their fault. Put your mask on, get your drink and enjoy yourself, dummy. Great vibe, decent music was playing and two modern pinball machines to play as well. Derby normies F off.

Tony Rogers is a thief. He adjusts credit card tips to the amount he deems acceptable. I ordered one beer and he decided to put a 20 dollar tip on my mother's card. He stole money from my mother. Someone needs to beat this dude into the ground.......again.

If you are from out of town, avoid going here, bartender treated us like outsiders, making fun of us with the regulars, and none of the employees are capable of providing any kind of decent service. Our group wanted a small place for a change, but we got split between the doorman, who decided to net let half of our group in on a slow Sunday evening.

Cheap drinks and a partially friendly staff. One lady got very upset with me and was unwarranted with the hostility. Overall nice place to go if you're wanting cheap drinks and late.

Interesting experience. Went while staying in downtown for a graduation. First night was chill, lives up to the name: Cheap beers, walls were dank and music brought back memories of growing up in Cali in the early 2000s. It’s open late so there was a big mix of crowd. The lead bartender kicked some people out for finding beer in their purse…which was a little weird but whatever, it was a good night. Next day we go back, so obviously we had a good time. We get to the front door and suddenly the same bouncer from the night before won’t let us back in. It was so weird. He straight up says, “Oh I know we let you in last night but this is a different situation.” It was the last bar of the night, my partner and I were sufficiently sloshed, and the city was especially pretty that night so we just walked away and boozily sang through the streets leading home. Which is to say if you’re visiting, it’s worth a beer but you may or may not get in. What I can guarantee is it’ll be an experience you’ll laugh about when you look back on, and isn’t that what traveling is all about?
