Fun place to sit down and enjoy a drink. Bartenders were very friendly and quick to fill orders. Multiple TVs and a decent selection of drinks. The bar doubles as an aquarium which is pretty cool! Drinks weren’t all that well made.

Ok for a drink, don't touch the food. My cheeseburger was a microwaved frozen patty, the store bought chips were the only edible part of the meal. Drinks are way over priced. Service was terrible.

A fun bar in the unconventional setting of the bridge connecting the towers of the Galt House. It's a fun, quirky place to meet up for a drink. But, as others have pointed out, it's a bit of an echo chamber and be loud. I had drinks there on a couple of occasions during my stay and enjoyed it, but I don't think I'd spend an entire evening there.

We decided to get a few drinks before going up to our room. Plenty of options to wet your whistle, plenty of seating to choice from, and a menu to order a little bit of food if need be. We even took beer back to our room. I would highly recommend getting a drink!

Currently staying at The Galt House for a business trip for my husband. We stopped at the Starbucks in the conservatory for lunch. Grab and Go cooler hours said it was open til 10 PM. We were there at noon. The person behind the counter had it closed. We asked if we could get food from the cooler and he said “I guess” and rolled his eyes at us. We got our sandwich, paid, and walked away. Future customers, I recommend going somewhere else for grab and go options.

The bar is very nice but Thelma’s has extremely slow service. The staff often forgets orders and they take a very long time to make people’s orders. I would give zero stars if it was an option. They get easily overwhelmed and there is never enough staff. Would not recommend whatsoever for someone who wants to get food in a timely manner.

Nice place but beware! Watch the pour. I and friends went to AJ’s after a recent UofL game and ordered my standard Woodford on the rocks. Discovered too late that the bartender “cut” my Woodford (and a friend’s drink) with inferior bourbon. I reached out to management by private email but received no response. Embarrassed for Louisville (and the Galt House ... who should “set the standard” for those visiting our great city). Disappointed to say the least. So, if they cannot (won’t) address internally nor have courtesy to respond privately, I’m turning to social media to spread the word.

Was worth visiting when the room had larger indoor trees, the bird aviary, and fish were in the bar top. The redesign makes this once very cozy and special space feel like an airplane hangar and no longer a worthwhile destination in downtown Louisville; a huge missed opportunity for the Galt House.

Nice, large, enclosed breezeway that connects the West and East Towers of the Galt House Hotel. The bar itself tends to get busy in the evenings. Expect a long wait for drinks. The acoustics are horrible and it is incredibly loud when the bar is busy.

We had a great experience with the nachos and the cheese curds. Some of the best food we had during a week in Louisville.

Great spot for drinks on the river. Blackberry bourbon smash was great!

Bartender working on Sunday, May 7th 2023 at 7:30pm was extremely rude. She should not be working at a hotel like this. We got up and left. And the hours said this place was open until 11pm but they closed at 7:30pm- which, I don't mind. But I don't appreciate the attitude. It's not my fault the hours were listed wrong.

Absolute hands down the worst service I’ve ever had in a bar. Thirty minutes of sitting at a bar without a drink. The manager is an absolute joke. By no means does this bar know how to manage 15 people max. The servers never asked if we needed another drink and we had to chase them down to cash out from OUR ONE DRINK. Two nights in a row and horrrrrrible service!!!!! I highly recommend no visiting this pace and venturing outside of the hotel.

The service could be faster and the bartenders could be friendlier. An old lady bartender was rude and snotty. Won’t be coming back.

The drinks and atmosphere were great. The bartender looked like he was upset with life and didn’t really understand anything we were ordering.

Nice bar in The Galt, fun spot to have a drink as it connects both towers of the hotel. Excellent Bourbon selection and good beers.

It's nice, but the drinks are served in small glasses and overpriced for what you get. Plus the atmosphere is basically non-existent. It used to be nicer. But, the staff is friendly and responsive.

The ambiance was absolutely stunning- the view of 4th Street was incredible at night, especially with the large building facades in thr background. The venue is the only one of it's time, having a literal bar made from a giant fish tank. Additionally, the canary cage inside also illumines the area with a naturilist view. Al J's has a TON of local spirits that should be shared by locals and hotel guests together and the environment is very romantic, well worth the premium.

Absolutely the worst bar service I have received.

Such a great spot for hanging out or just a casual date. You can dress up or down here and not feel entirely out of place. The drinks are good, but overpriced, especially since they aren’t very strong at all. They also serve food here though! The best part, the fishy aquarium that makes the bar!!! Sooo cool and fun/interesting to watch as you sit and drink. Great views here too!

Ate on a Saturday night at one of the restaurants (not the swizzle ) After they sit us down they tell the 4 of us there is a 45 minute wait because there is barely enough staffing. 1 chef for 2 restaurants. The food was awful. Two of us had the short rib which had more salt than the Atlantic ocean. Wife got the friend chicken which I can say a fast food restaurant does better. Asked for bread they said they didnt have any. Brought my side salads out with dinner when they should of brought them out right away. They the gal to try to charge us for the salads that come with the meal. The manager was clueless as well as the waitress. Save your money there are way way better places to eat in town. Make reservations for sure for Saturday night though. I would give it less than a star if I could ! This is a real post by someone who stays in nice hotels regularly.
