As
a
white
person,
I
am
well-versed
in
non-spicy
foods.
Unfortunately,
the
pickles
in
"the
new
dill"
pizza
fit
that
banal
bill.
First
of
all,
whatever
device
you
use
to
look
up
the
menu
online,
the
text
is
too
small
and
becomes
ineligible
if
you
try
to
it
enough
to
read
the
toppings.
You
would
assume
"the
new
dill"
pizza
would
use
dill
pickles
as
a
topping,
right?
Wrong!
Upon
tasting
these
very
distinctive
pickles,
both
the
server
and
the
manager
assured
us
that
the
bread
and
butter
pickles
we
clearly
tasted
were
actually
spicy
garlic
and
dill
pickles
made
just
two
blocks
away
from
their
location!
The
general
response
to
my
repeated
insistence
that
these
were
clearly
bread
and
butter
pickles
was
"what
do
you
want
us
to
do
about
it?"
No
one
checked
to
make
sure
a
mistake
was
made,
and
the
suggestion
that
the
menu
ought
to
be
amended
to
be
more
accurate
was
met
with
silence.
Admittedly,
I
did
not
make
these
pickles
myself,
but
I've
had
many
pickles
in
my
lifetime,
and
I
know
what
dill
pickles
taste
like.
It
tasted
nothing
like
garlic,
dill,
and/or
anything
spicy
was
involved
in
the
creation
of
these.
Maybe,
at
one
point,
some
seasonings
dry
humped
the
pickles,
but
no
fluids
or
flavors
were
exchanged.
Perhaps
they
weren't
bread
and
butter
pickles,
but
they
were
very
sweet,
not
spicy
at
all,
and
certainly
didn't
taste
of
any
dill.
The
only
spice
on
that
pizza
came
from
the
standard
hot
sauce,
and
the
hot
sauce
I
added
at
home
to
cover
up
how
sweet
the
pickles
were.
All
in
all,
it's
hard
to
judge
The
Post
on
a
singular
pizza,
but
the
apathy
regarding
communication
with
ingredients
means
I
won't
be
going
back
for
seconds.
