Food & Coffee: 5 Service: 2 Overall: 3.5 When we were visiting downtown Louisville this weekend, we scoped out a handful of local spots to eat/drink/explore. This was one of the locations we selected for a nice breakfast outside as we walked around with the dog. We planned to go inside, order our food and coffee, and eat outside with our puppy (a four pound teacup pom). When we were in the bakery for 20 seconds, we were immediately yelled at for having the dog in my arms… not touching the floor or making a peep. No issues with the message (even though there is no signage) but the delivery was extremely rude and ruined our breakfast. With all of that said, the coffee and breakfast sandwich was delicious, but the cashier staff left much to be desired. Please consider being less aggressive after we walk over a mile specifically to your neighborhood, to spend a chunk of change to support a local business. Needless to say- we did not tip. Here’s a cute picture of us eating our biscuit outside, politely and quietly with our puppy, Conrad. (@conradthepompom)

Great breakfast option for a weekend morning if you want to avoid long lines at sit down restaurants but still want savory food that’s filling and not just a cookie. We got a bacon egg and cheese biscuit and a curried sweet potato turnover for about $5 or $6 each. Turnover was good and flavorful, I would recommend to ask for it to be warmed up otherwise is room temperature. Coffee is also good. They have a handful of tables out on the sidewalk and a couple inside the cafe.

The baked goods are all good, but after dropping $70 (this place is expensive) and having my order wrong, I brought it up to the workers, they attempted to fix it and still forgot spreads. Service was ok since one worker seemed frustrated/upset at 7:30 in the morning and the other didn't know where things were. For these prices, there shouldn't be any hiccups. As far as the food, we all think that the savory goods were better than the sweet. The bialy and bagels (with herbed cream cheese!) were delicious. The kalamata focaccia is pretty darn good. For the sweets, the pan au chocolate was probably the best, followed by the chocolate chip cookie dough croissant. The muffins were kinda dry and the normal croissants are alright, but the biscuits were good, as was the black raspberry jam. We will return to try the lunch sandwiches, but I don't think there are many baked goods that scream "gotta come back."

It’s a cute spot with some amazing bakery items—the croissants and biscuits were delicious. A little more menu variety would be preferable, as well as seating. Otherwise, it’s great and the basil peach cold brew was fantastic!

Cool little Bakery on the corner. Tried the Hanna Banana as it was the chef special and it was okay. To be clear, the croissant was delicious but I like my sweets to be borderline diabetes so I wasn't crazy about it. The company I went with absolutely loved the different croissants available and coffee. Definitely worth a visit!

As a young man born and raised in the foothills of Northeast Alabama, I like to consider myself a biscuit connoisseur. In my humblest opinion, Butchertown Grocery Bakery has the best biscuits in Louisville. It's one of the few times a biscuit from a restaurant has made me think of my beloved Granny and Nannie, waking up at the crack of dawn to make a pan of biscuits, fry some sausage patties, and use the grease to make a cast iron skillet full of gravy. I'm now a believer and will spread the gospel of the Butchertown Grocery Bakery Biscuits throughout Kentuckiana!

Incredible bacon, egg, and cheese breakfast Biscuit. Huge biscuit, buttery and fluffy. Crispy bacon and a really nicely flavored egg. Pastry game was also on point. Highly recommend the monkey buns and pumpkin Muffin.

Love this place. We've stopped here twice for coffee and breakfast on road trips. The sausage biscuit is out of this world. My wife only wanted one patty so she gave me one of hers and then I had three and WOW that was a lot of sausage. So good. Gotta try those cookies too if they have them. Browned butter bourbon or something like that all I know is it had butter and sugar and that is all I need in life sometimes.

Food was great, coffee was amazing, shop is cute and I'm obsessed with the bubble light fixture. A little more of a "hipster" vibe than I prefer but def worth it.

Breakfast sandwich was so good my friend was stuffing his face like the Cookie Monster! Speaking of cookies, the chocolate chip one that came with this sandwich had amazing texture and flavor… Might be the best cookie in town!

I've stalked this place for a week once I learned of their amazing baked goods. I finally went on a Monday late morning, and they were sold out. I saw the prices of things and thought "oh this is one of those pretentious, overpriced coffee places." I was absolutely wrong. The barista that helped me was so friendly and apologetic - zero of which being sold out is his fault. He gave me some great suggestions of other things I may like and his favorites. I landed on the Dan which and a cortado. It was great. The food portions fit the pricing. Seating is very limited, so if you're looking to stay and work a bit, you'll want to grab a seat early. All in all, they lived up to the hype, and I will be back to try their cocktails too.

We ate here on our vacation and the food is amazing. Lots of flavor and fast service for a small shop. The customer service is also so fantastic! The guy forgot to ring up my husband's order and when we asked about it awhile later, he gave us the sandwich for free and a gift card, which we totally didn't expect. Go here for great food and great service.

This was our morning breakfast stop before heading out on the Bourbon Trail. Really cool atmosphere, and the coffee and sandwiches are excellent. I had the butcherblock (pictured), and if you're going to be out tasting at the different distilleries, this is probably the sandwich to get first.

A little taste of Europe right in Louisville’s backyard! Extremely cute aesthetic. I live for a gorg atmosphere. We got 3 croissants: mocha, chocolate, & almond. The almond croissant was my favorite, the mocha had way too much filling and the chocolate didn’t have enough— would’ve absolutely preferred the chocolate to have more filling lol. It is pricey, we were going to get a few breakfast sandwiches but didn’t expect the price tag that was on it, $10 for a sausage biscuit in Louisville. Being from Atlanta, it’s expected, but Louisville shocked me lol. All in all, super cute place, friendly staff, & yummy croissants!

This place is amazeballs! Delicious! Wow. Had a croissant supreme with an espresso. Oh la la I was in heaven. Employees were also so friendly. Thank you so much for making my Louisville stay that much better. I will return for a delicious breakfast before I leave.

Easily the best place we visited in Louisville, so much so that we went twice! The bourbon caramel was wonderful in cold brew. We will be searching for breakfast sandwiches for a long time that taste that good. We also had to taste a couple pastries and they were both delicious. It's also just a cool shop to sit in and maybe even buy some bourbon.

9am on a Saturday after a Derby event.... Drip coffee is delish. I like the complimentary biscotti [if I ate biscotti] comfy window seats and wifi. I'd chill here when it's not packed.

Had breakfast here the last two days...the bakes goods are yummy and very delicious! Breakfast sandwiches are large and well made. Coffee and tea are hot and well prepared. If you are in the area, you should definitely stop in. You will enjoy it! They also serve lunch. Be sure to be there before 2pm, that's closing time for them.

The staff is always super friendly and great customer service. Food is delicious and good options to choose from for breakfast and lunch. Great coffee and pastries- some of my favorite in the city. Highly recommend visiting and I will be coming back regularly!

Very cute little cafe, I very much enjoyed my food and drink. I got a chocolate croissant and a hibiscus tea lemonade I loved both things, I prefer their chocolate croissant to many others it had 3 strips of chocolate compared to the usual 2 which was a great addition. I would definitely go back

Super cute place. It’s giving Stockholm, Denver, or Brooklyn coffee shop vibes. Looks like a great place to work. Definitely a great place to meet a friend and catch up. I had the blueberry scone and it was yummy. I also had hot chocolate with extra chocolate. Idk if they put extra chocolate in it or not but it was really good. I’m excited to go back and try their breakfast sandwiches and other cooked food.

Great breakfast. Wish food was hotter (gravy was just warm).

This is one of my favorite places in Louisville, hands down the best bakery. I prefer their coffee to all the coffee shops surrounding them. Their lemon cream cheese danish is easily the best danish I have ever had in my life. And the staff is always super friendly!

Good breakfast sandwich, inside seating is limited, they do have outdoor seating. Cute place, lots of pastries.

The hot oat milk latte was not great, just go for regular dairy milk if you're able to or an iced oat milk latte. They do beautiful latte art though! The cream cheese danish was tasty but nothing to write home about. Great place to grab and go!

You ever have a moment that changes the whole trajectory of your day? I did here! I went in only to grab a baguette for our dinner later. Our first night on a big road trip and we had driven through the night and were just beginning to think about coffee and breakfast. I didn't even realize I was going in a coffee shop as I had looked up the grocery initially. I ended up getting a baguette and a lemon bar and...chatting with the friendly cashier who is originally from HI where my daughter is currently in school. I just thoroughly enjoyed chatting with her and she was so kind and generous to me. The food I ended up eating which included a biscuit breakfast sandwich were over the top delicious. I felt bad we were headed on to our next destination and I couldn't return to say thanks and buy more. But I'll at least give my vote that this is definitely a place worth patronizing. My husband and I were both put in such a good mood as we set off for the day it kept us both in a good mood the entire time! And also, once again, made me realize how much I simply like the state of KY! Aloha!

The food here is wonderful. I've had their breakfast biscuit sandwiches (great), their pear and walnut salad (lovely), and we decided to grab their take-and-bake Chicken Pot Pie as well to make dinner easy. It was DIVINE, easily the best pot pie I have ever had. Their apple hand pies were tasty as well. It's great to have this spot within walking distance!!

The egg biscuit sandwich truly saved my life. They’re happy to make it vegetarian if asked. I was having one of those mornings where I also needed a blackberry hand-pie and it was one of the best pastries I’ve eaten in recent memory.

😠 Very displeased with this location.
