Amazing owner, staff and Peruvian food. It was our first visit coming down from canada. Right from my initial contact the kindness and caring was evident. We have never had chicken prepared in such a manner hyphen obvious care and pride of ownership is shown in everything that they do. The food is served up by the owner who is generous and kind. In the 45 minutes that we were at the location he greeted almost every customer by name - that is unheard of ay these times. Well we were first time customers we felt like we were friends for ever. The chicken is unbelievably moist and infused with flavor. Hardest decision will be for you to choose sides as they were all amazing. We can't wait to return to Louisville to have it again. Delicious, authentic, healthy and fresh Peruvian food, served up by the owner who is so personable and kind!!! Highly recommend this hidden gem of a restaurant right off Newburg Road across from the JCPS Van Hoose center. It’s a wonderful place with character and authenticity. Lots of delicious side options to go with the chicken.

It was the first time I tried the charcoal chicken here. we ordered two full chickens, cilantro lime rice, salad and some chicken fried rice. Overall It was good and will recommend to others

This place is a MUST STOP in Louisville Kentucky. If you liked charcoal style chicken that is crispy and juicy this is the place to visit. The flavor is just fantastic 😋. Not only will you experience great food but you will also be greeted warmly by the staff and very nice association with the owner who is so kind and easy to talk too! The bathrooms are also very clean which is very important😊 My hubby and I live in southern KY and would have no problem taking a 2 and a half HR. drive for some more of this chicken! 😆😆😋😋😋

Their chicken and white sauce they have is so good! It’s also affordable and it seems like they use quality chicken.

My first time eating here. I decided on this place because of the reviews. The chicken was good, my sides weren't as tasty/ seasoned. The rice was dry and my beans didn't have any flavor.

It’s good for a quick lunch. The chicken is delicious and the owner is very friendly! But the side dishes are just OK. The fries sit under a heat lamp so they’re not fresh, the steamed veggies taste like the frozen kind you buy bagged in the store, and the green beans taste like they’re canned. If you’re in the area and looking for a quick lunch, then I recommend it. It’s not a dinner type of place though. The interior is no frills.

We came in as they opened for lunch at 11am. We got a whole chicken that came with 2 large sides and a dark meat quarter plate that came with 2 small sides. We opted for yucca fries, mashed potatoes, cilantro rice, chickpeas, and added an order of slaw and chicken fried rice. The chicken was juicy, seasoned perfectly with a crispy roasted skin. The yucca fries were golden brown and crisp. The mashed potatoes were real and freshly mashed, cilantro rice was moist and very cilantro-ee. The slaw was creamy and sweet and the chickpeas was seasoned well. The chicken fried rice was surprisingly good. The chicken comes with a green cilantro based spicy sauce (my favorite) and a creamy garlic sauce. Yucca fries with cilantro sauce was the winning side dish and the chicken was hands down best we've had in a long while. Only gripe is we wished that there was some kind of gravy for the mashed potatoes. We definitely will be back.

Best #glutenfree fast option in Louisville! I have Celiac and have never been glutened in over 3 years. There's a GF safety menu posted and almost everything is safe to eat, even the sauces. Aside from delicious Peruvian charcoal chicken, I love the tostones, rice options, and the fact I can get lots of vegetables. This is also one of the best run restaurants I've ever been to. (My husband is a chef and I've worked in restaurants for 25 years.) The owner is fantastic and sets a happy welcoming tone. The staff is notch as well -- friendly, fast, efficient, and patient when I get all indecisive. Customer service is very important to me and keeps me coming back! Believe the hype, this place is delicious. I'm not sure what the complaints are about dry chicken, mine came out of the rotisserie fresh, moist and amazing, maybe they had an off day? Best cilantro rice anywhere (it actually has enough cilantro in it to provide flavor) and the chickpeas were also great! Get the 911 sauce (if you dare 🔥)

If I could give more stars I would! My husband Josh and I first tried this place last week after an appointment in Louisville. We loved it so much we had to come back today. This is, hands down, the best chicken we've ever had! We have lived many places and have experienced a diverse variety of culinary delights. My husband has worked in the food service industry for a long time and we both agree that this food is some of the best! The chicken is the star of the show and well complimented by delicious sides. My favorite are the yuca fries dipped in the green sauce. The masterfully blended herbs permeate throughout the chicken, not just the skin. LOVE LOVE LOVE this place! It is always on point. We do an hour drive just to come eat here. The owner is so nice, he takes time to get to know you, he remembers you & he walks around making sure everyone’s food is good. They use organic chickens! Nothing but the best.

Very small place in Louisville that my friend took me to. The cilantro rice is AMAZING! Chicken cooked perfectly with the best seasoning. And don’t leave without trying their traditional cookies - overall amazing meal!!

I ordered 50 individual meals for a work lunch from Yummy Pollo. Everything was hot, fresh, and the portions were massive. The food was delivered on time and was absolutely delicious. The owner Faisal is so kind and made sure to address any allergies prior to placing my order. 10s across the board and we were very pleased! We will be ordering again.

We found Yummy Pollo online while traveling through Louisville about 5 years ago and fell in love with this place. We are rarely in Louisville but everytime we are in this city, we have to go to Yummy Pollo. Our most recent trip was this past weekend and we were happy to discover the food is still delicious. The chicken is flavorful and never dry tasting different than anything else we have eaten. The cilantro lime rice and green beans are always amazing. The owner is nice and takes pride in his food. I only wish this place was closer to where we live!

Ordered 1/4 dark with coleslaw and potato salad. Food was good. Spicing was amazing. Leg and Potato Salad were delicious. Service was great. Had somebody pick it up for me so haven’t been inside. Everybody in my group was happy with their meals.

Went here yesterday for lunch. Their food is so flavorful and fresh. You can really tell that it was made with care and love and happiness. The yuca fries were perfectly crispy, the chickpeas had a great depth of flavor, and the cilantro rice was the perfect pairing to tie it all together. Their sauces are all next level too - such fun flavors all around.

Wow. Lousiville has some amazing hidden gems. This place is so great. Food amazing. The owner is down right charming in English and spanish. Same jokes every time, but they’re good ones, and it makes you feel right at home. Just amazing customer service. also phenomenal chicken. And great yucca Fries.

The food was absolutely fantastic, but that was topped by the staff. My oldest went up to the counter for both of us. The manager asked him if it was our first time, and then the manager took his time to explain what he had on the menu. After we got our food, he came out and talked to us for several minutes. It left a lasting positive impression on both of us. We will be back next month and my youngest is looking forward to finally going, after we’ve talked up how good the restaurant is over the last year. I’ll highly recommend Yummy Pollo to anyone who asks!

WOW!!! I loved this place. The rub on the chicken was so yummy and the chicken was juicy and delicious. The sides were great too, we got cilantro rice and fries. The dips were great and we ended the meal with homemade alfajores. If you’re going to eat somewhere in Kentucky, this is a good choice.

Visited the place during a business trip and had lunch there. Excellent food, and lots of options for sides. The chicken is extremely well seasoned and very tasty. What I was most amazed by is the owner and the way he interacted with customers. After preparing our order and me saying Thank you, he replied: "Thank YOU for keeping us in business, enjoy!" Who does that? Amazing. Will definitely return when I have a chance.
