Buck’s was an amazing experience for our company Christmas Party! The service, the food & atmosphere were wonderful. Our server, Angelica, was superb! We had 11 in our party & she was excellent with us from start to finish. Great evening! Thank you so much Buck’s😊

Just go. What an amazing dining experience. The atmosphere was beautiful. The piano player was perfect. The service was top notch, and the food was outstanding. Prepared and presented to perfection. The prices might seem high until you taste your meal. At that point, you'll think it's a bargain. A definite must when near Old Louisville.

Together with some of her coworkers, my  wife and I had dinner here. Fantastic, fresh food. Excellent service. Stunning live piano music. BURBON! I took a photograph of the men's restroom because it impressed me with  how clean and well-maintained it was, and there are already a ton of fantastic photos  of the food on this site.

We saw Bucks advertised during a showing of Secrets of the Bluegrass Chefs and immediately put it on the list to visit! We were coming to town for a show and decided this past weekend to have Dinner at Buck's. We had a phenomenal experience!!! Anthony was our host and was super informative and got us seated quickly. Our server Natalie was fantastic! We enjoyed the meatball appetizer, the crispy fish and duroc pork chop entrees and finished our evening with the bread pudding and brownie desserts. I was impressed with all aspects of restaurant. The wine list and bourbon selection were cast and impressive. The appetizers entree and desserts were some of the finest food we have had in Louisville. You simply must vist Buck's and enjoy this fantastic experience. Fantastic again!!!

Hidden gem in old Louisville! We made a dinner reservation for NYE and couldn’t have been more pleased! The food, the service and the atmosphere were all 10 out of 10! We can’t wait to go back and take friends!

Buck's is always an excellent place for service, ambience and cuisine! We usually come for lunch but dinner was even more spectacular. The Tomato Bisque and Beet and Pear salad were wonderful starters. Then the Duroc Pork Chop and Short Rib Wellington were so rich in flavor. The dessert, Mocha Dacquoise, was the perfect ending to my birthday dinner. The Pianist was a great addition.

WOW! Absolutely delicious! The service was some of the best in Louisville. The attentiveness of the staff could not have been better! All three courses of the meal was prepared perfectly. The lobster flavor was AWESOME! Custom cocktails were flavorful and well balanced! Definitely recommend!

White table cloths, fresh white flowers, EXCEPTIONAL FOOD, and not a hint of pretentiousness. We thoroughly enjoyed celebrating our 30th anniversary with you. Thank you, Tony!

I must say… in my times, I’ve been to Buck’s so much… from college days to adulthood. Come for dinner - lunch is solid, but it doesn’t have the Short-rib Beef Wellington, and that is the absolute best item on the menu. I’d come back just for that. Beyond this element, there is live piano music from time to time and woman get a star of Bethlehem flower to take home. Eloquent, refined, classy ambiance.

Excellent food. Traditional menu. The Beef Wellington is truly outstanding. Good wine list by the glass. Very nice atmosphere with piano music at just the right volume.

I celebrated a friend’s birthday here on Friday. It was the first time in years. Loved the ambiance! Fresh flowers everywhere! Karen, the hostess is lovely. Anthony was an attentive server. The beet and mini pear salad looked and tasted wonderful! My fillet was good, but should have been hot! My friend had the shrimp and scallop pasta, which she liked. Her dessert was on the house! Thank you for a memorable lunch. Will return!

This being out 1st visit to Buck's, we were not sure what to expect, having said that, we were WOWed. I'm not sure which was better, the food, or the service! Angelica, our server was fabulous! She was very attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly! The food was wonderful. The risotto was so flavorful. My husband got the burger and fries... best I've ever tasted! This was definitely a wonderful experience... We will be back!

We held the rehearsal dinner for our son’s wedding at Buck’s on 9/3/21. It was PHENOMENAL and I’m so thankful for the staff there! They were truly amazing and cared so much that our event would be perfect. From Karen and her sommelier expertise, Lisa, Christina, Angelica, Reggie the very hip and awesome piano player, and everyone else…they made it perfect! The service was exceptional and the food was fantastic! Thank you so very much for making this event unforgettable! If we could give you1000 stars, we would!!!

This is a fabulous place! Its very romantic inside. The food is wonderful but the service really makes the place special. Its obvious there's a standard of excellence thats been set and is maintained. It's not inexpensive but you truly get what you pay for here and its no more expensive than most restaurants in its class. The hostess was wonderfully kind to me and my fiance as well.

I gave 4 stars because 3.5 wasn't an option. While the experience was great I just was not wowed by the food like I thought I would be by others hype. The service on the other hand was fantastic! I ordered a dirty martini with vodka to start and it was one of the best I've ever had. The Oysters Rockefeller appetizer was the star of all things ordered for me. I had the KY Lawyer as my entree. It wasn't bad and I wasn't totally disappointed. It just wasn't as good as anticipated. My partner had the pork chop which was slightly disappointing as it was not very flavorful. The sides with both entrees were great. Overall, I just don't think the food lived up to the hype created by other reviews or even the staff created for me. I will still go back as the experience was worth it and there are more menu items to try. I recommend reservations after 6pm if you want to enjoy the live piano.

This is my new favorite Louisville fine dining restaurant! It is so authentic. I didn't even get me started on the delicious generous portions of the food! As the staff but as farewell I informed them they're going to get sick of us. I can't wait to go back.

This restaurant is beautiful and has live music. It lives up to its reputation of being one of the top restaurants in Old Louisville, and my lovely fiancé took me here. Our server was great. He was very attentive and kind! He cracked some good jokes and told us how he had been working there for years. The atmosphere was so calm and classy. The live music was lovely. I also loved the dark green theme of the restaurant and how it was complimented with white flowers. The bar was also beautiful, with so many different alcohols displayed. The bread and butter appetizer was delicious, and it came out freshly baked! I got the Seared Scallops over risotto, and it was just melt-in-the-mouth delicious. The risotto was cooked perfectly (I know it’s a tricky dish!) and the scallops were so sweet. My fiancé got their Filet Mignon, and he loved it. For our dessert, we split the caramel brownie with vanilla ice cream and caramel drizzle. ABSOLUTE HEAVEN! I highly recommend this place for a fancy date night. We both still want to try the Beef Wellington; we will definitely be coming back for more!

This was my first time visiting Bucks Restaurant, and they did not disappoint. The live piano by Reggie was just amazing. You got to go see this guy. Our waiter Jag was awesome as well. Even the manager Anthony was great. I really love this place and will be back for sure. Thanks, @BucksRestaurantandBar. We brought our own cake, but they do have delicious dessert options.

We wanted to love this place. It's pretty inside. There's live music, too. If I were grading on the service alone it would be a perfect review. But the food is what ruined it. I ordered the lamb and my husband ordered the sea bass. First, his sea bass was terrific! Melt in your mouth, buttery, perfectly seasoned. It came with risotto, which unfortunately, was cold beneath the fish. I ordered the lamb medium rare, but it arrived well done. The waiter quickly sent it back. So I waited as my husband finished his meal. When my lamb reappeared I cut into it and it was raw. It was blue toned and cold. I hated sending it back but it was clear this dish wasn't going to be correct. This time I ordered the scallops. They were divine! As much as I liked them my husband had long since finished his meal. In the end the food was good, but between the cold risotto and the cook on the lamb there are too many problems with the kitchen for a second visit. They did comp my meal out of courtesy.

Delicious food and great atmosphere. We were a little concerned when we first drove up and parked, but once we walked in, we loved the place. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was soft and romantic. Live pianist on a Friday night along with the delicious food and great service made for a very enjoyable evening.

Really enjoyed the atmosphere and the decor. Food was very good and the bread pudding and Creme Brûlée was excellent. Richard our server was very attentive and pleasant. The live piano music was great. A very enjoyable experience. Can’t wait to visit Buck‘s again.

Hands down the best restaurant in the city. Excellent, delicious menu; every entre a home run. Friendly and efficient wait staff. Elegant ambience with flowers, mirrored walls and eclectic china. The duo pianist and flautist put the experience over the top for one of the most romantic evenings you will ever have. Try the Oysters Buck's, an exquisite gustatory experience.

The food is absolutely incredible. The drinks were good and the atmosphere was impressive. Our server and the bartender were very friendly and talented. But we waited for a table even though we had a reservation. The couple next to us waited 40 minutes at the bar for their reservation. Our server was overworked and unable to provide the service one expects at a restaurant of this quality. Even what appeared to be the owner was rushing. I'd come again but make sure you allocate two hours minimum to dinner.

I love this place. It's namesake, Buck, was a special person. Everytime I eat here, I think of him getting his guest and checking on everyone. He would be very proud of this place. If you haven't been here you are missing a Louisville tradition. It's located in historic Old Louisville.

Patrick D. was our server and provided fantastic service! The atmosphere was classy with the lovely live piano music in the background. Dinner was delicious! We had the beet and pear salad that was ever so delicious and the crispy cod with an Asian sauce that was wonderful and filling.

We were lucky to find Buck's. All the top restaurants in downtown Louisville were full with no reservations. Buck's restaurant came up as one of the best in Louisville. It was not easy to find but well worth the effort(a lighted sign would help). The service was EXCELLENT and the staff was very friendly! The restaurant was quite charming, historical, and relaxing. My wife had the Ceasars salad and our friend had the wedge salad. I had the soup of the day; Tomato blue cheese bisque, fantastic. We all had steaks, the ladies had Filet Mignons, and I had the Grilled Ribeye. All were cooked to perfection. It's one of the best restaurants we ate at all week while in Louisville. Definitely check them out. Enjoy a great dinner.

Let me start by saying the food was delicious. Our waitress was new so we understand there’s a bit of a learning curve. The manager (who was also the hostess, bringing food and clearing plates) was very friendly. She stopped and talked and actually gave us a shot of bourbon we started talking to her about. But shame on us, we were having such a good time we didn’t check over the bill close enough. We spent $419.76. After we got home to Michigan, we were looking over receipts. Buck’s charged us for an additional Blanton’s we did not order and never received, at $25 a shot, my 90 year old father ordered the cod at $28, received cod but the bill read snapper for $37. The bill included an additional $1 charge for the Blanton, do not know why, and a $2 additional charge under the signature old fashioned on the menu. We do not know why. So again I say shame on us for not auditing the bill closer, but at a place like Buck’s, that’s way too many mistakes. I wonder how many people they have done that to??? So if you eat here, triple check your bill!!
