Great food, great service. Even when it was busy and staff was shorthanded, they provided excellent service.

What went wrong- Restaurant hygiene is questionable. Front door glass so dirty can barely see through it, tile floor is very grungy and the restaurant has half of seating capacity shut down but for some reason put all patrons in one tiny center section. I refused to sit among 50 people in a 30x30 area when the restaurant was otherwise empty. Elected to sit in the bar which was mainly empty. I understand if they’re closing seating due to the short staffing but I would think they could at least space out the patrons and give the servers larger geographic areas to cover..especially in light of the pandemic 😷 What went right- SALAD!!! This restaurant knows how to serve a proper salad. The salad bowl was icy cold and the greens were crispy and veggies fresh. I was very impressed by the salad quality. My entrée was chicken pot pie and I would say that it’s really no better than what I can buy in the freezer section at the supermarket. Service was average considering staffing issues. Don’t think I would ever go back.

I go here once in a while. I usually get the same thing and it's always consistently good. I have not had any bad experiences and they are good even with take out. They do have curbside pick up as well. They are however consistently busy during peak hours on the weekends and there may be a wait.

One of the best dining values in town, especially considering pandemic era and staffing at most places. Twenty years ago I regularly ate at Cheddar's and enjoyed it. Change of jobs and habits, I got away from eating there. Within the past 3 weeks I have again visited Cheddar's and enjoyed the setting, the service and two delicious meals. One meal was cajun grilled salmon on bed of rice with broccoli and green beans, and the other meal was blackened tilapia and shrimp with a garlic sauce on a bed of rice with green beans and broccoli and of course the honey butter croissant! Frankly, I find it one of the best dining values and pleasures in town! Kudos to the management and staff for providing good food in a lovely and comfortable environment.

I had the buffalo chicken wrap and it was pretty good. I did enjoy my frozen watermelon maragrita! The service was good. Pretty Good for a midrange restaurant.

Waited 30 minutes for our food, just to be told they were out of Caesar dressing for my salad... The waitress said "I can give you a salad without the dressing!" Then what's the point of the salad...? We waited another 20 minutes for our food, just for the waitress to forget the sides we wanted. Then, to top it off, we didn't get a single drink refill the whole time we were there. We were there for well over an hour and it was 2 o'clock and hardly anyone was there... Bad, bad experience.

Cheddar's has really improved the quality of their offerings in the past 10 years. Everytime I go to one, I can always find something on the menu that tastes good, and the atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable. I never feel rushed or forgotten about, and I tend to leave full for a reasonable price.

1st disappointing experience ever at any Cheddar's. This past Saturday night my friend ordered steak med rare, I ordered my usual med rare Salmon, we both had green beans. Steak came medium, beans were sugary sweet, too sweet. Salmon was med well to well at best. We didn't have time to reorder which wasn't fair to restaurant because we didn't say anything at the time. But 1st, Why add sugar to a delicious healthy green beans? 2nd, I've eaten at this restaurant for years and never had a disappointing meal. Maybe a new chef or food sat under warming lights too long but that's no reason for too much sugar in beans, or for putting ANY sugar in green beans, in my opinion nor for a steak full of gristle. I'll go back, not sure my steak eating friend will though.

Service was fantastic and I thought the venue was beautiful. However, I got the worst barbeque bacon burger I've eaten in my entire life. The bacon was rock hard and hurt to bite through and the burger itself was bland and overcooked. I'd go back and try another item from the menu because the ambiance was great, but my food in particular was not at all (other than the croissant that was brought out before my meal, that was delicious)

I ordered takeout from the bar and I’m not sure what the guys name was but he was awesome. He gave me a free lemonade and good suggestions. It was my first time being here and the food was awesome. The atmosphere was great and the restaurant was very clean. I will definitely be coming back when I come to Louisville again.

Stopped for a late lunch at 3:30 was seated right away because they were not busy. We waited quite a while and never saw a waiter, we even used the little tablet on the table to" call the server" still nothing. We finally left at 4:00 without encountering any employees. This was one of my favorite places to eat. I'm not ready to give up on them yet because the food has always been great, just wish I could have had some today.

It was busy, but the team was friendly while we were at the bar waiting for a table. Our server was very friendly, and the restaurant was clean, and we loved the real plants around as part of the atmosphere. The food was delivered quickly and was hot when it arrived. I ordered the Monte Cristo and it tasted like the oil was old. I should have sent it back. The rest of my party said their meals which included the ribs and fried shrimp and chicken said their food also had a burnt taste and had a tough texture. The manager never came around for us to raise a concern with so we paid, tipped our friendly server and left.

Wife and I got there around 4:00. We hoped to avoid the crowd and we did. First good experience. Loved the interior with the plants and the dome. Lighting was ample with me seeing the art work on the far wall. Second good experience was the iced tea. Worth the trip right there. Our server was Erica. She was experienced, courteous and friendly. Serving size was more than we expected as we had to use the carry out. I would say that Erica was the third good experience with the food being the last good experience. Really enjoyed ourselves.

Visited with my family and had a great server. Our poor experience had nothing to do with her. We placed our order and after an hour and 10 minutes of waiting we decided to cancel the order and just pay for the drinks and appetizer. The restaurant was not busy and most tables were empty so there should not have been a significant wait for our food. Our server was very attentive and kept checking on our food while we waited but our food never came up. After we canceled she went to have the check adjusted and returned with the salad and 2 kids entrees that we ordered. The kids entrees were cold from sitting so we asked that they be removed from the check along with the rest of the food that never arrived. The manager approached the table to tell us the server had requested the food be removed. He offered no apologies or explanation and seemed to be very annoyed as I briefly looked over the check. I asked him a question about the check for clarification and received a mumbled (under his breath) response and a dirty look. I’m not sure what he said and he honestly appeared to be high. He was clearly annoyed so rather than continue any further I just paid the bill as it was and tipped the waitress based on the original amount of the check had we actually gotten everything we ordered. The manager simply walked away without another word and still without the first apology or acknowledgment of our poor experience. Will most likely not revisit this location.

Ordered a simple crispy chicken salad and it was disgusting. Chicken was all fat and gristle and there were huge lettuce cores and brown rotten lettuce served. When we were seated, we were greeted by a nasty mop and bucket. Lovely. Will never go back.

Outstanding experience!!! The service was great, the food was outstanding, and the service was fast. A great place for meeting up with friends, a first date, or mealtime with the entire family.

The food was great and the drinks were good. The service was ok and definitely could have been better. This Cheddar's also had a boring vibe to it.

Loved the veggie platter I had tonight - loaded potato, corn & broccoli casserole plus salad with blue cheese ! The rolls were delicious, too !!

We hadn't been in several years so as we were heading to Springhurst Shopping Center, decided to check it out. We had steak, soup, shrimp with various side dishes along with a wonderful chocolate chip dessert. All wonderful, service good, never ran low on drinks. We'll be back

I had the chicken fingers with fries and coleslaw. First my meal was barly warm. It had to sit waiting for me for 5 minutes. Second, the chicken was just ok, nothing to shout about. However the breading was good. Thirdly, the Fries were cold. So I ate a few fries, the coleslaw and a few pieces of chicken. NEVER AGAIN will I order the chicken fingers "old #8"

Had a great time with out of town family. I had four seniors with me and the server handled it with no problem. The food came out quickly and correctly. I think everyone really enjoyed their dinners. My aunts said the chicken pot pie was delicious. We were seated in the inside part of the restaurant(under the fans) was loud which made it a little difficult to hear conversation if you have a little difficulty hearing as did a few of my guests.

they were so nice to put us in the back since we had two small children. Some in our party got the buffalo chicken wrap which is huge;they took half of it home. I ordered the grilled chicken pecan salad and it is always delicious. Another person in our party or the chicken finger platter and was able to share it with our four year old granddaughter. Our server was Puck. She was awesome! She checked on us often and it even took the initiative resource room I have needed. This cheddar’s really works on cleanliness and their bathrooms are usually pleasantly clean. This is our go to restaurant when we are on this side of town. Good faith good service clean restaurant no wonder it can get busy at times. Keep up the good work!

Great place with a variety of good options. A gluten free menu is available which made it much easier to make a selection. The grilled salmon was delicious!! Our server, Island, was very attentive and took great care of us. Very cozy atmosphere and a fun place to eat dinner.

We had a group of 10 on Wednesday, 6/15, at 6PM. The manager asked if we wanted everyone sitting together or back-to-back booths. When we told him we wanted to sit together, he said it might be a bit, but less than 5 minutes later he was showing us to our table! Our server was Ryan, who did an outstanding job! One member of our party was later than everyone else, but Ryan made sure that her entrée arrived with the others. And then we asked for the bill to be split 3 ways… No problem!! Couldn’t have asked for a better dinner. I think everyone was impressed.

First experience there. We arrived for early dinner and beat the crowd which arrived as we were leaving, so it seems this restaurant gets good traffic. The menu was usual fair (soups, sandwiches, salads, entrees) with average prices and taste. Great bar area with a very beautiful, large fish tank. Good service!

My chicken pecan salad, chicken was cold and lettuce had brown spots. My Wisconsin cheese curds came after my salad! They were warm and not hot. Told bartender cash me out, asked if I needed to box the salad. My reply it dosent taste good, just laughed and handed me the bill.

Made me wait an hour after I ordered to pick up a curb side order, we get there and we had to wait 30 more minutes just to get food that is hard as a rock. Customer service wasn't bad but the food sure is...

I have been here several times in past years and didn't like anything about it. Went with family the other day and I loved it. I had steak and ribs. We also had 3 appetizers, all the food was very good. But where are the onion rings they used to have. They were good. Back in the day.

Understaffed. Service was a little slow. Fries were burnt. Some orders were never fulfilled. The croissants were still as amazing as I always remember... (and one of the reasons I come) I dislike the fact they removed my favorite dish... the honey mustard chicken!! HOW!?!

  • 2/5 Jessica B. 2 years ago on Google
They were out Of a lot of food. They didn't have any corn, any baked potatoes, any broccoli cheese Casserole, and no Monte Carlo's dinner! But our waitress Natalie was freaking amazing even though she had a huge section to cover for dinner!

My husband and I were out celebrating our Anniversary and stopped in for an early dinner. Although a little short staffed, Ryan our waiter took good care of us. Seemed He was working both sides of the restaurant. He made sure our food came out in a timely manner. Everything we ordered was fresh and tasty. I've not had a bad meal at this restaurant. Will visit again.

Staff was great. Place was clean. Food has always been stellar. This being said...... Food was lacking this time. 8 of us went. 7 of us got the buffalo chicken wraps with the homemade ranch. As it seems they dialed the portions back. 1 small ( pinky size) chicken tender per wrap. It will be a while before we go back if we do. We did not complain because we were not looking for free food. Maybe it's just the location. Plus side, the steak was good.
