Hands down my favorite BBQ place!! Not only is it delicious but they have a great variety of food for a great price along with huge portion sizes!! Good seating options! Good music! Good atmosphere! Wonderful service! I want to especially point out our waiter Alex. He's great!! Definitely recommend this place!

First time here today!!! Both my wife and I are from out of town and Momma’s was recommended to us from our AirBnB! You can seat yourself and get quick service. Angie our server was super nice and was able to give us recommendations on the menu. If it’s your first time here, definitely get the nachos!! It seriously was the best basket of soul nachos ever!! You get a taste of the sides with this dish and it doesn’t disappoint! And OMG the wings!! Seriously the best wings we’ve had by far!! The perfect crisp to the perfectly smoked wings. The rub they use is sooo good!! The fried pickles is a must!! They do come on the nachos but if you want more definitely get a small basket! We also tried the cornbread because that is a must! It was sweet and moist, almost melt in your mouth soft crumbly goodness! We would definitely come back!! 💛🙌🏽😋

Even as a vegetarian, I found my tastebuds begging for more at Momma’s! I ordered the Havarti Grilled Cheese with Coleslaw and Cornbread, and a freshly brewed Sweet Tea to drink. My boyfriend got a Pulled Pork Sandwich with Slaw on top with Fries and Baked Beans on the side, as well as sides of their homemade Bread and Butter style Pickles and homemade Ranch. I’m not always able to have a wonderful and accommodating experience when I go eat at a traditionally carnivorous restaurant, but this outing was above and beyond! And the food wasn’t the only great thing about Momma’s, as our server, Damon, was one of the best waiters I have had in a long time. Good help can be difficult to find (especially amidst a pandemic), so the owners here should be proud to know they have a fantastic waitstaff. He was kind, funny, and attentive, and made our dinner that much better! We’re sorry to waive Kentucky goodbye as we head back home, but I guarantee you will have a wonderful meal here if you’re in the area! Enjoy!

I had the taste for barbecue, so after reading lots of reviews, I decided on this place. I'm not a local; I'm actually here on business and currently staying in a hotel around the airport. I drove there just before 10 p.m and got lost on my way! I already knew what I wanted. Chicken! I ordered the half piece, with macaroni & cheese and potato salad. When I got back 2 my room, I opened my bag, and noticed they didn't give me any utensils! Such an inconvenience. Fast forward! The chicken was delicious! It was perfectly seasoned! (I'd get it again) the macaroni & cheese was a little dried, and the potato salad tasted like mustard and salt. I enjoy good sides with my meat, If the sides ain't good, I probably won't be back.

After seeing many recommendations for this place, we decided to give it a try. This place was recommended as one of the places that you should try when you come to Louisville. It was also recommended on thrill list, Google, and Yelp. So we thought we were going to get a really good meal here. I ordered the burnt ends, and the people that I was with, ordered pulled pork sandwiches. Each order came with two sides. The sides were just okay. We ordered baked beans, fries, macaroni and cheese, cornbread, and coleslaw. We ordered dry rub wings as an appetizer. The wings were okay, but the barbecue sauce was the hit of the dinner. Once we put the barbecue sauce on the wings, the wings were delicious. I have to say, that the burnt ends weren't that great. They're not cooked enough, and whatever they cooked them in wasn't that great. I had to drown them in the barbecue sauce to make them taste okay. They don't give you that many, you got a little bowl with about 6 or 7 pieces for $16. I didn't finish them though. I kind of like burnt ends a little more burnt than how they cooked them. I didn't like the taste of them. Too much smoke. I like them a little crunchy too. It's like they were sitting in some sort of sauce for a little while too long. The pulled pork sandwich ($13) was pretty good. Could have used a little bit more meat on it, but it was tasty. The macaroni and cheese was meh. It just didn't have a good taste. The best sides were the baked beans, and the cornbread. Overall it was just an okay meal. I don't think I would go back, as there are many other choices in the city. I don't see all the four-star ratings. This place is a solid three and it is just okay. Not a place I would really look for and I have to question the ratings that it received.

Darn yummy! The brisket is VERY good. Would suggest adding the fried pickels for $1. Loved the Mac and cheese. Service was spot on. Parking a little challenging but not bad. Definitely check this place out.

The place was packed by the servers were hustling! The food was as good as everyone says! Fried pickles were sweet and salty with amazing ranch dip. Our meals were great. Their bbq sauce regular and spicy were very tasty. The dessert was the star! The bar had a lot of options.

Outstanding brisket and amazing pulled pork! The meat has great flavor without BBQ sauce. The original sauce and hot option add the perfect amount of flavor without overwhelming the meat. The meat was moist without sauce. For the sides, the coleslaw is very unique with a cream/vinegar base and BBQ rub added to the coleslaw. A delicious option. This location has a classic feel with a beautiful entrance. Well worth going to on any BBQ trail.

This is my second review on Mommas. We enjoyed the food so much we went back the next day. This time, we both started with their smoked wings. They are great!!! We also shared orders of the brisket, pulled pork, and fried pickles. All of their plates were wonderful, but as I said before, the wings are GREAT. Also, try the homemade mustard.

When you arrive you immediately smell the smoked meat. All of the food is comfort food. A nice waitress brings food quickly. We had the fried pickles, beef ribs, burnt ends and pulled pork grilled cheese.

When in Louisville this is a MUST EAT AT BBQ! You have to go on Saturday or Sunday and ask for Kitty and sit in her area! Kitty was amazing! Without Kitty the evening would not have been as wonderful as it was. Thank you Kitty for being you! Amazing food! Be sure to have the bread pudding!!!!

Hole in the wall BBQ joint with a simple menu. The pulled pork was great. Thought the brisket was a little dry. Definitely get a side of mustard, that was delicious. Our blushies were quite sweet, but fine to was down all the grease! We'll go back no doubt.

Came here after hearing about it from my step-dads own visit. The food was amazing. The portions are huge, we had plenty to take with us.

Noticed they had beef ribs, thought I'd give it a try. Also, an older episode of DDD recently aired with great reviews. Tried the 1/2 order (2) beef ribs, sausage slider and coleslaw. Ribs were smoked nicely, still a bit chewy, under seasoned. But, they were definitely meaty. 👍🏾🤗 Had lots to bring home. Sausage slider just not to my liking; sliced, greasy, muddled seasoning, wouldn't order again. A couple of BBQ sauce options, one hot, one mild. I mixed and got what I was looking for. Coleslaw mixed with I think a Chipotle ranch dressing, decent. Star of the meal, Momma's Peach Punch, KY bourbon, peach liqueur, peach puree, over ice in a mason jar ... 😋 parking is mostly street, go early, nice, clean inviting space, service was 👍🏾

The food and service were both good. I would eat here again in the future. Beef ribs were good and the sides were better. I really enjoyed the potato salad. The hot BBQ sauce was good, but not actually hot.

Best wings I've ever had. Big, meaty, juicy and flavorful wings with a crispy skin and tasty dry rub. Burnt ends, cole slaw, and corn bread were all excellent. Wish I'd have been in a bourbon mood because they have a huge selection. And to top it all off our service was 1st class as well. I'm looking forward to visiting Louisville again and will be back!

GET THE BEEF RIBS…always amazing! We come from Bowling Green to get ribs and wings to go, and we eat the spicy fried pickles on the way home. Soooo freaking good! Baby back ribs are also very good.

actual rating is between 3 and 4 stars! Good was not great but. Beef ribs were not fall off the bone. And a half rack comes with two ribs albeit they are bigger portion of ribs....the pulled pork grilled cheese was good.the fries were good the mustard and pickles are good the wings are good...

Best little BBQ restaraunt I have been to in several states. The BBQ sauce was outstanding and so was the pulled pork sandwich. The wings were BBQd perfect. The mashed potatoes and gravy were really good and do were the fries and sausage. Funniedt note to employees to wash after using the restroom i have seen lol. Really fast friendly service, you definitely gotta check this out if you get to Louisville.

Short drive off interstate if passing through in very nice neighborhood great outdoor seating dog friendly even brought out water bowl. Pulled Pork is probably the best I've had smokey flavorful no need for sauce cause plenty moist unlike some others dri rubbed. Wife couldn't get over the fries that have their bbq seasoning on em. Fried sweet pickles are great because of what ever pickles they use and cut just a little thicker! Wish it was closer to me!

LarderRoom...Wing Wednesday! How about Momma's signature smoked wings; called the Best in America by the book "The Top 100 BBQ Restaurants in America," they were called the Best in Kentucky by Twitter users and voted the Best in Louisville by LEO Magazine Readers! They are that good!

Great atmosphere and awesome service from our waitress Morgan. Pretty busy but she was awesome and very attentive to our table of 8. Food was great! Their wings and both ribs were amazing! Ate too much and then some! Again, GREAT FOOD AND STAFF! Will definitely be back next time we are in town!

Food was amazing!! Got the pork ribs, pork nachos, chicken wings, corn bread, bologna grilled cheese, pull pork sandwich and all the sides!! Everything tasted great and delicious, came out fast and was hot. Waitress was an absolute doll answered all the questions we had and was very attentive. Can't wait to come back to Louisville and get this food again

Stopped in for lunch at the recommendation of a coworker. Ordered some smoked wings and the burnt ends plate with corn bread and Mac and cheese. Wings were juicy and flavorful, and hot like they had just come out of the fryer. I was disappointed with the burnt ends, because as you might see in the picture there really isn't anything burnt about them. I think one cube of brisket had bark on it. They were tender and had decent flavor, but you can't honestly advertise them as brisket burnt ends.
