Great "hole in the wall" Italian restaurant, that's been a staple of the community for some time. Food was fresh, service was great. Had some things missing due to supply chain issues, but most places are running into that right now. Waiter always worked to make replacement suggestions and try to make the most of it. For appetizers, the wontons are the go to! Pastas were good, but still looking for my favorite choice to recommend.

First off I give credit where it's due the waitress was fantastic and the crab cakes were great! However the bartender/manager or whatever she was a rude nasty drunk. I ordered a long island ice tea, I've drank many in my life this is my drink when I eat out I drink them all the time. She brought me the five shots in the glass with no sweet n sour and no cola I took three sips and sent it back she then marches over and starts yelling at me in front of all the customers in the restaurant, this was 6pm on a Friday night they were packed. And she hands me a whiskey glass of sweet n sour and tells me I shouldn't order five shots of alcohol if I don't want them I didn't order 5 shots I ordered a mixed drink (LIT) with 5 shots that come in it. She just kept yelling and trying to make me drink this awful drink. She is NOT a bartender she is clearly just a drunk. She even admitted to not putting the other stuff in there and still didn't want to make it right instead she brought us our check and had us leave. This is sad this place has so much potential and bad management will ruin an establishment every single time. I will tolerate alot when out eating and I'm pretty understanding but this lady was nasty and rude

This place was a happy surprise.. On the outside it looks like a tired honky Toni. On the inside it looks like a honky tonk lol. BUT the menu included some of my favorite Italian dishes. We were there for a birthday party and we had about 20 people. Cathy was our tireless waitress and she served us by herself. The food was rich and the portions generous…

Love Come Back Inn. Ambiance, and food are incredible. We frequented the Come Back Inn three times and each time was incredible. We will continue to invite new and old friends and continue to visit the restaurant. Hoping the Inn stays open for many more years to come. The pasta dishes are always good and hearty. The servings are ample size for even two persons to share. We have not tried the pizza yet, though this is planned for future visits.

The gorgonzola dressing is the best I've ever had. Can't stop thinking about it. Service is excellent. I had the spinach & ricotta pizza, outstanding!

This little “hole in the wall” is beyond great! Nothing to look at outside, the inside very interesting, feels warm and a family atmosphere. The bar is so old and beautiful. The food I love ❤️ love ❤️! I got the puttanesca with chicken it is amazing!! The salads are very delicious as well! The prices are very reasonable and the servers are very friendly and they take good care of you. Go you will LOVE it! 🥰

Was trying to find a place that wasn’t outrageously priced for some Italian food. Found this little place. Definitely didn’t look appealing from the outside but pretty decent inside. Street parking or there’s a parking lot I noticed across the street where people were parking. Has a bar area then seating for dinner/eat in. Ordered Alfredo with chicken. Wasn’t crazy about the chicken on it bc it was like boiled and white like the sauce. The sauce was pretty decent. Not one to run back and have again until I have other places to compare it to. But wasn’t bad either. I definitely could do without the chicken on top. But the portion size was ok for the price.

I can normally tell you I think so highly of this place. Any other night I'd give it a 5 star. I even recommend people to this place. Tonight though, we went with our two friends that also eat here regularly. We were extremely disappointed. When we ordered, two of us ordered extra breadsticks (which we would be willing to pay for) did not get them with our meal. We also normally get a much larger portion than we did tonight. To say I finished my bowl of food has never ever been a thing here. It was the smallest bowl of food I've ever paid $14.50 at come back inn. When the checks came around we asked to not be charged for the extra breadsticks. She told us that they don't cost anything anyways. That's the service we received tonight instead of checking in and making sure we had everything we needed. That's a kind of service I've never had here. I'd say we are going to start looking elsewhere for Italian, and I want to end with I never thought I would write this kind of post about Come Back Inn.

Our servers were sweet and attentive, and our appetizers tasted pretty good. However, my chicken parmesean was not good, the pasta I ordered with it was dry and cost extra for some reason, and we were sat right where the AC is its strongest causing us to freeze before our food came. I witnessed several people leave and go get jackets / sweatshirts due to the AC. My wife's amatraciana looked and tasted like the cook just dumped some wine into it without cooking it down. The staff was accommodating about replacing it, but for my pregnant wife, it was too little too late. It's safe to say we won't be coming back here.

Cathy was our superb server - great atmosphere & historic decor. I had the Meatball Bake with pasta and my buddy had the Chicken Breast Bake without pasta. Ample portions and wonderful draft craft beer. Plenty of street parking and it has a full bar.

Comeback in is a friendly home style Italian place. The food is very good for the price. Wood paneling reminds me of Grandma's house and so does the full bar. Everything is good even the chicken tenders for the picky eaters. Highly recommend, underrated

Short review: bring a flashlight, get there as soon as they open, and don’t come hungry it’ll be a while. Long review: Overall was very underwhelmed. We were the second table to be sat as we heard they get very busy so we (group of 5) arrived as soon as they opened. We ordered immediately and it still took well over an hour for our entrees to arrive and the food did not come out together. It took at least 5-10 minutes for the other dishes to arrive which one had to be immediately boxed up because we were short on time. It’s very dark in there so I had to use the light from the tv to be able to see the menu. The dining room is incredibly cramped and even our server couldn’t maneuver to properly serve the table once the restaurant started filling up so she was sliding plates across the table to people she couldn’t reach. Also was repeatedly hit by people going to the bathroom and servers trying to serve other tables due to very little space between tables. The manager definitely oversat the restaurant for the 2/3 servers they had. Our poor server was running everywhere for all the tables she had. We had to flag her down three times for refills, to ask for the check, and to get her to take the check. You could tell she had way too many tables to manage so we tipped her well. As for the food it was just okay. As other reviews say, if you cook Italian food at home this won’t be any better than what you can do. Marinara wasn’t reduced enough and was very watery and way too much cheese on every dish. 2 stars because maybe I came on an off night where there were other issues behind the scenes, like maybe they were short-handed, etc. but I’ll give them another try because they’re local.

OMG! This place is amazing, honestly some of the best food I’ve had in L’ville. It may not look like much when you walk in but rest assured your going to have a good meal and top notch service.

Unfortunately I was craving the Come Back Inn of last year. This is the second time I've had them in 2022 and it has been terrible. With the first a few months ago and had the unpleasant experience of sitting in the only guy there section. He is a whole other story. This time, it was take out. Just wow. It was completely the wrong thing, its on me for not checking before I left. But usually, even if its the wrong order, it tastes good. It was the most overly garlicked and yet bland thing I've ever ate. I don't know if its new management, new cook, or just incompetence but it will be a very long time before I try again, if ever. I'll forever hold the old Come Back Inn in my heart, you were amazing.

This place is AMAZING. We had the Italian wontons for an appetizer which were so good. I had the sirloin bake. Cooked perfectly and so tasty and satisfying. Sherry Saltimbo waited on us and she did a fabulous job. If we are ever back in Louisville I want to visit this place again.

the environment and service was good, but the food itself was overpriced and something i could make in my own kitchen. we got a salad, crab cakes, and the Italian beef "sandwich". we were very disappointed by the Italian beef, it was not even close to a sandwich and the bread was completely soggy and dissolved. very unappetizing. again, it's a cute place with good service, the food was just a letdown.

Lovely little spot that is out of the way. Due to being some distance away I normally call ahead for carry out. (So happy they offer that as an option.) The prices are decent and the portions are HUGE. Fair warning...this is real food..not that Chef Boyardee stuff some places try and serve. Highly recommended. I know they have an outdoor patio as an option as well for those who might be interested.

This should be 4 and a half. It was like Old Home week. I've been eating there on and off for 20+ years. The only disappointments were they had run out of Crab Cakes (at 5:15 p.m.) and they didn't list a special. The Saturday dinner special was always a treat to try something different. Sometimes the special wasn't even on the menu. I suppose it is the global logistical nightmare that were responsible for both. If you ever see a special posted again, and are adventurous - I was never disappointed trying them. All together, very happy seeing them on the backside of the pandemic.

Some of the best pasta I've ever had! And the service was excellent! The bread sticks on the other hand were just ok. On a side note our table was so small it was hard to eat with our appetizer and entree on the table.

A wonderful neighborhood place with relaxed and welcoming staff. My go to menu pick is the Chicago Italian beef. The house salad is a must have. And their prices make it all even better!

Fantastic Italian place. It’s not a super fancy Italian place, but the food tastes like it is. I got the Amatraciana (pancetta, diced tomatoes, mushrooms, red onion, garlic, Italian herbs and red pepper flakes with an olive oil& Chianti pan sauce) for $13.25. I had enough for two meals. My whole table had enough for two meals. (Oh and try the wonton app they have, it’s also good!)

Food was amazing, atmosphere was better but the amazing woman Cathy who waited on us made the evening. Took a min to get some service but that’s because they were busy as can be but Cathy more than made up for it. She took what little time she had to spare and made sure we had a great time. I will definitely Come Back Inn
