We greatly enjoyed our meal here. The food was fantastic and the portions were generous. I especially enjoyed our server who was friendly and attentive. The only thing to be away of is the food is a bit costly with some dishes over $40 each. Great place.

I love the veggie burger and key lime cheesecake I had. Wait staff was friendly. Food was served quickly. Veggie burger was really delicious.

Absolutely the best fine dine casual restaurant I've been to in a while. Service amazing. My New York strip grill to it's rare perfection. It's a perfect place for date night. My wife absolutely loved it. SMOKED SALMON APP is her favorite. I'm waithig for the grill master to mess up my New York strip. They haven't done it yet. 😁 Make sure you try their Mac and cheese. Now GO! What are you waiting for.

My food was delicious. I had the prime rib and a cocktail. The service was excellent from the moment I sat down until time to leave. In addition, the food was brought out quickly, which was awesome. I highly recommend visiting.

The last time I was here. It was called J Alexander's. But, the ambiance and stellar service has stayed the same. I used the order the Caesar salad, prime rib with garlic smashed potatoes. This time I ordered the double boned pork chop, smashed potatoes, and haricots vert. FANTASTIC!!

Been to plenty of Redlands properties to know what I should get. The Dirty Martin not good for the price! The salad, one of my favorites, was the size of a side salad. Will not be back to this location.

I wish our experience was a bit better at J. Alexander's, as the food was very good. We visited Saturday evening, three hours before closing, without a reservation and was told there would be a 45-hour wait and the hostess seemed annoyed we were wanting to stay. Our table was ready after 20 minutes, and service was okay. We weren't told of the specials or even the fact that they were on a small separate menu. Our server wasn't around after food was delivered and we were left waiting a few minutes to get her attention for the steak sauce I wanted (I know, I know). Nothing about the service was exceptionally bad, I just have received far better from less reputable places. Maybe it was an off night for staff, but I will be giving other steak houses in Louisville a try before giving my patronage to J. Alexander's again.

Awesome service and food. It was my birthday. We were sat quickly and given references to places to go after since we weren’t from Kentucky. Had a great time!

My goodness, the food, the service is bar none! Everything I've eaten here has been FANTASTIC! The service is non parallel! It's a J.Alexander Restaurant! They do have a lot of choices that aren't too expensive, but if you do buy a Filet, yes, it'll be a bit. The broccoli is amazing, garlic butter! Please go! Wonderful!

Top of the line restaurant. Food, service, and atmosphere all wonderful. Mac n cheese was amazing, and carrot cake too. Prime rib was great.

The prime rib here is PHENOMENAL. The best I’ve ever had easily. Cooked perfectly (medium rare), the Hawaiian salad dressing is creamy and delicious, and the Austin Hope cab wine was fabulous too. Finished the evening with the carrot cake which was also a must-have! Can’t wait to return, and if you get Alexis as your server you know you’ll be in good hands!!

An American cuisine grill with a 20th century art deco lounge vibe. The atmosphere was pleasant, which, along with the prices, gave me high expectations for the food. Unfortunately, it was underwhelming. I was disappointed with the steak burger. I like to get burgers at American cuisine restaurants because, to me, it says a lot about the quality of the other food if you succeed (or flop) on your burgers - a staple American cuisine. This one was a flop. I asked for a medium (I like to test this before getting a medium rare on another visit) and I got well (no pink). The beef lacked flavor, and the dressing was underwhelming and needed to be rescued with ketchup from my fries. I expect more when I pay almost $20 for a burger at a restaurant touting its American cuisine. The server was excellent - friendly and responsive. The atmosphere was pleasant. The straw fries were a good side. The chocolate cake with a scoop of ice cream was a delicious, shareable treat at the end of our meal.

Nice atmosphere, but a little loud. We ordered the deviled eggs and they were good, but a little on the bland side. I got the prime rib medium rare and it was cooked to perfection. Juicy and flavorful. Au jus could have been warmer and saltier, but went well with the requested creamy horseradish sauce. My wife got the filet mignon. She ordered it medium but it came rare, almost blue. She hates complaining and didn't want to return it, so she ate around the edges. It had good flavor and crust, but for as expensive as the steak was, you got to know how to cook a thick steak to the requested temp. Maybe finish it in the oven if it's a skill issue... Overall, service was great and sides were delicious.

First time ever eating there yesterday. We received awesome service from our waitress. Spinach dip was awesome. Chicken tenders were very tender, loved the skinny little fries. My husband said his new york strip was cooked perfectly. My son had the prime rib and ate every bite. Our only complaint was it was chilly inside. Other than that it was delicious!

Very good service and really nice atmosphere. My wife and I had a filet with mashed potatoes and it was some of the best food I’ve ever had. Definitely will be back!

We have been coming here for 20 years! Always loved it. This time, no! Won’t be coming back. The people you have chose to work for you have decided to take your business done with them. The man behind us told the manager the very same thing. Said of all the years he’s been a patron, this was the worst service he has ever received. We won’t be coming back as I mentioned. You let a fine establishment crash and burn. We come on Oct 28, 2023 at 5/30 pm. Wasn’t crowded and no excuse for making us wait for over 12 minutes to be acknowledged. What a shame!!

Deviled eggs were good. Ordered the steak and frites, rare. Came out medium well. Returned, second steak came back medium. I gave up and just ate it. I wouldn’t suggest this place for steak. When I returned the first steak, the server pointed out that there was a little pink in it. That suggests a lower level of professionalism and quality than they portray on their website. They make a lot of statements about quality and refinement that did not hold up. The $48.76 would’ve been better spent at another option in the Oxmoor area.

The food is amazing! Some of the best steak you will ever eat and cooked to perfection. The atmosphere and service by everyone is superb. However, for such a nice place, it kind of grossed me out to get 2 glasses of tea, both with someone else's lip prints and smears on the rim (see photo). The first glass, I thought maybe had imperfections to the glass and wasn't obvious enough for me to truly process. It wasn't until I got halfway down the second glass and sat it in front of the light, that I noticed actual lip prints, and it hit me that the first one was more than likely the same as the second. When I wiped my finger across, it smeared, so it was absolutely dirty. I enjoyed my meal but left feeling a little nauseous and incredibly glad I only used a straw the entire time instead of putting my mouth where someone else's had been. If we ever decide to eat here again, I will check everything I eat and drink from. Needless to say, there was disappointment for such an establishment to serve drinks from dirty glasses.

I am from out of town and looking for a place to sit at the bar and have a glass of wine and dinner. I was traveling by myself and told this was a good location. I sat down at the bar at 5:30 and literally no one even asked if I was eating, wanted some water or anything for 20 minutes. There were 3 bartenders. Out of the 3, one young lady was working pretty hard, another one was worried about what was on the tv screen and the other was chit chatting with other workers. Not at all what I would expect from a very reputable restaurant. Very disappointed.

Love going here. My fave Key Lime Pie of all time. Normally we have excellent service but it was abysmal at best last Friday. Never checked on us after the food came, steak was undercooked, drinks were empty, and pretty much felt ignored. It will be a hard sell to get me back after Friday's poor service.

This place is no Stoney River, but it’s fine. I attended for lunch by myself, the restaurant was not full by any means but they sat me in the more dimmer spot near the kitchen. Then continued to sit other patrons by the window in more brighter, suitable seating. I ate the steak Maui, which was fine, I order medium and came out closer to medium well and the smashed potatoes were cooler than expected as it was earlier in the day. Will not be attending this restaurant again as the prices and namesake do not match the service. One good thing was my waiter, she was very attentive even though they had her tables spread out lol.

The Caesar salad was DELICIOUS omgggg they make their own dressing in-house 🤦🏾‍♀️🥰 it was an $8 salad but it was huge, I couldn't eat my steak and loaded mashed potatoes!

Got an invite to meet some friends for dinner. The menu has good choices. The inside looks very chic and the atmosphere is elegant and relaxed. This restaurant was on my list to try and I’m so glad we went. Service is excellent and prompt. You don’t have to wait for any requests. The food is AMAZING!!!

This has become my favorite date night restaurant because I can actually rely on a good experience, which is getting trickier as the pandemic rages on. The food is delicious and staff are courteous. My favorite server even remembered my food allergy after meeting only once. If a positive dining experience—in addition to the food—is important to you, I recommend this place.

Wish I hadn't waited so long to go here but do definitely worth it!! Each one of us enjoyed our different steak choices cooked to perfection! Food looked so mouth watering, we couldn't wait to dive in. Best steak!! Ah! But then came the warm gooey delicious carrot cake that takes comfort food to a whole new level!! Service - you'd only expect the best and we received it. Will happily do J. Alexander's Redland Grill again!!

One of my favorite restaurants in Louisville! I’ve had everything on the menu and it’s all great but I would suggest the filet mignon with Béarnaise sauce 🤤 add not-so-ordinary mac & cheese and you have a perfect meal (see my pic) Very affordable and not overpriced like similar steak places. I take people here all the time and they always ask to go back!

Great food and service. We tried...the vegan burger, salmon, steak, salad, Louisiana chicken sandwich, deviled eggs(shown in picture), fries, mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, and a baked potato. If you like martini's try the Lemon Drop they brought what was left and put it into a cute cup shown in picture.
