I’ve been twice and cannot get past the strawberry shortcake pancakes with extra crispy bacon! I love food.. and highland morning sparks the taste buds! Their apple grits are delightful and you must try the half order of biscuits and gravy!

What an amazing find down the street from our AIRBNB. Hunter our server was wonderful. She was a wealth of knowledge on places to eat and things to do. Her recommendations were 10/10 and we did most of them. Being from the Texas we know what good biscuits and gravy are, they were amazing!!!!!!! A must check out place!

Great food and great local atmosphere . Everything we’ve tried has been delicious . The waiters and waitresses have been pleasant . I’m giving 5 starts but if I could change one thing it would be that they use a odorless cleaner for the tables . I understand with Covid that everything needs to be cleaned and they do a great job of it. They use Lysol and it has strong scent they may not sit well with sensitive noses or with people while they eat . This is a place you should visit for breakfast in Louisville

We decided to have brunch here and it was SO good! One of the best meals I had while I was in Louisville. The service was also great, even though they were very busy. I would highly recommend Highland Morning to anyone! P.S. Get the Kentucky Not Brown...you won't regret it.

It was my first time dining here. The food was absolutely amazing. The service was quick and friendly. I asked for a couple of suggestions from their menu and I’m very glad that I chose the Baja Benedict. I’ll definitely be coming back here again while I’m in town.

Always fast and friendly service, and GREAT food. I had the Baja Benedict and my spouse had the stuffed French toast. The food was hot, cooked to perfection, and tasted GREAT! We sat outside in the morning sunshine (it was gorgeous) and walked from home. I brought my coffee with me because I have a drinking problem and have to have coffee when I walk in the morning. Our server was truly wonderful, and she and the other staff folks worked together to keep glasses filled and to be available. Street parking only, but there is lots available and it is less than a mile from my house. Loved it (again)!

My dad really wanted pancakes, found this place close to Church Hill downs. We were all ready to hit the road. I had the shrimp and grits, I wished they were a little spicy, it was missing that burn. Pancakes were delicious. The Bloody Mary was spicy, I liked the taste it had. Was disappointed in the crab benedict, it looks like it was frozen crab cake. It didn’t look good, tasted all right. Service was really fast and super friendly.

So passing through town in the rv and decided to stop here. Looks like a hole in the wall with a pretty cocktail sign on the wall." One of the best 100 breakfast in America." Yeah, they've earned it. The d's sweet N spicy on Sour dough was awesome. Pretty solid pancake. Enjoyed this place alot. If you are looking for a low key breakfast, this is the place

I think we found our favorite breakfast spot. Been looking for a feel-good, great food, hole in the wall type place and this is it. Very affordable menu is definitely a bonus. Staff treats you like a friend- you walk in and they greet you tell you to sit wherever you want. I had the farmers omelet and my husband had the Turkey club sandwich and we got a half order of biscuits and gravy to share. Everything was really good. But it’s the environment that we loved the most. Will be back for sure!

This down home cafe feel breakfast spot had a sweet charm to it.. Small and a little crowded but it felt right. The place was very busy but the service was still friendly and fast. The food was a good cross between a home cooking feel and gourmet. We had the bananas foster stuffed french toast and a build your own omelet. Both were exceptional. My dad ordered a more traditional eggs and bacon plate and it was all cooked to order and came out just as requested.

Love, Love, Love the food. Stuffed french toast with blueberries and strawberries was delicious. I definitely found my place for Shrimp and Grits in Louisville. The over easy egg on top added the perfect flavor. The basil tomato omelet was cooked to the perfect consistency and had a wonderful taste. Amanda was super attentive and helpful. We will be making this place a regular stop.

Amanda was our waitress, and she was amazing! She was very attentive to all of her guests and was great with my nephew, who is 2. The food was just as amazing! I had a BLT that had the freshest vegetables! My friend had 3 over eat eggs, potatoes, and toast, and she loved her meal as well.

My wife and I ate here for breakfast after a nice stroll through Cherokee Park. The food was great, especially the banana and berries pancake. Will definitely stop in again the next time we're in Louisville.

Cool quirky spot for breakfast. Hard to go wrong with anything you order here. The Dutch Apple Waffles were to die for! Bacon was a little oily and wiggley. So if you like it crispy, you might want to tell them that. The French Quarter French Toast was a ton of food! There is a lot going on in that dish so you might want to split it with a friend and add some sides to even things out. Eggs were good and nearby table omelets looked good too. Coffee options were basic. Would love to see a really vanilla latte or cappuccino as an option, but it may not be their style. Alot to try on this menu, so we will be back. Environment is rustic, but also felt a bit unclean to me. I was sitting in the sun so any dust, random stray eyelash (might have been my own), stuff under the glass top that sat on our table, whatever showed up in the sunlight so I got a little OCD anxiety...hence the 4 stars.

This eclectic restaurant is a Bardstown road staple and a hidden gem. It may not look like much on the outside and remember the outside and inside are just what you’d guess for a little eatery…. But the food…unexpectedly scrumptious! I’m so sorry I didn’t take pics of the food. I had shrimp and grits… arguably some of the best I’ve ever had… with a biscuit in the side! It was pricey but kinda worth it! Please go and enjoy… you’ll be glad you did ‼️

I was looking for good biscuits and gravy in Louisville and I found it here! I ordered it with 2 eggs added on top. The gravy was really good. It was a good size breakfast, but not so big I felt stuffed. Great service and nice small cafe atmosphere. The orange juice wasn't cheap, but it tasted fresh. If I was local I would be back!

Quaint two room cafe with close table seating. Wasn’t crowded so it wasn’t a problem, but could be. Server was friendly and attentive to the tables she was taking care just as the other servers were. A lot of specialty breakfast dishes along with your usual bacon, egg and grit plates. Food comes out fast and hot. Was our second visit and started eating before pictures were taken so don’t judge the presentation and portion size by picture. If parking out front is not available there are 4-5 spots behind their building. Only park behind the dark green building though.

Excellent neighborhood breakfast spot with both light and hearty offerings, in the heart of the coolest neighborhood in Louisville. Everything I've ordered has been top-tier, and all at very reasonable prices. It can get crowded on the weekends so come early!

Their pancakes are so good ! I also love the fresh fruit bowls. I usually order steak and eggs with a side of potatoes . Place is typically crowded but the wait usually is not long .

This spot is where I had the best breakfast I've ever had. I had the wake me up omelete and the Stuffed French toast. The omlete was savory, slightly spicy, fresh, and had a nice depth of flavor. Every ingredient complimented each other perfectly. The stuffed French toast was so delightful. The sweetened cream cheese was just sweet enough to not be overwhelming, the Strawberry compote on the top was refreshing and made me melt in my chair. The server complimented me on my tattoos and had good conversation with me. This place has a super cool vibe and food made with love

Enjoyed a very tasty breakfast at Highland Morning today. While there was a short wait, we got in fairly quickly. I was pretty indecisive because there were so many tasty options. I finally decided on the Baja Benedict. Lots of flavor and the poached eggs were cooked to perfection!! My hubby opted for the biscuit and gravy omelette. We also enjoyed perfectly spiced Bloody Mary’s. A wonderful breakfast gem, just what we were looking for.

Very unique restaurant, small with a lot of personality. Love a good restaurant with an identity and they did that. Pictures on the walls are nostalgic with local ties, had no idea so many famous people has ties to Louisville. Food was EXCELLENT. Had the French quarter French Toast. Do yourself a favor and try this place....

By far the best pancakes I have ever had! I had lemons lovers pancakes and my husband had the southern pecan waffles. When I say you do not want to sleep on this place, I mean it! Service was great and it was a short nice walk from our airbnb.

Cozy breakfast spot with great prices and excellent pancakes. This was the first brunch spot we hit on our first trip to Louisville, and we'll definitely be coming back. Highly recommend.

I ordered the biscuits and gravy, orange juice & a small fruit cup. I don't know what's in the gravy but it is a very unique taste. It's good though, and the sausage isn't spicy. The fruit cup had a great variety that wasn't just your standard melon, and the staff were nice.

Pretty yummy! Went out with my mom and friend. We had some breakfast mimosas. I had Michael's loaded potato omelet. It was pretty good. I don't like sour cream but I'm sure that would've gave it a good touch

Quiet, quaint, clean, hidden gem. Went early on a Saturday morning-no wait. Superb service, good food eggs Benedict options. Solid, good basic meals, reasonably priced and exceptional wait staff. Will go against n.

Very good food I will definitely be back. I had the "Wake me up" omelet which was very good but I do have a complaint that it could use a lot more chorizo. I'd probably hesitate to order it again because of that, but there are a lot of other options on the menu I'd love to try. The skillet potatoes are very good, and I also had some biscuits and gravy that were amazing, I can definitely see why they are award winning.
