Food is good. Service was good. The wait and the time it takes knocks the review back a little but if your patient, it's worth the wait. The staff is short handed so you can see that progress is being made but it will take some real time for you to get fed. I have to give credit to the folks that work there. Some of the hardest working people in the business. When you see the effort, it will make you appreciate the service when you are served. Tip well! It is surely due!

I could live here. Had the riverside all to myself to enjoy some beer, bourbon and then my husband and I enjoyed the seafood sampler which has crab cakes, coconut🍤 shrimp, clams, other shrimp and some other stuff, and we had to try the seasonal frogs legs, which were tasty as well. Plus that whole outdoor area is pet friendly! Just wow.

Delicious food We ordered the Barge Platter for us three. The Boom Boom sauce was delicious. Beautiful view and great service from Robert .

We got the family meal to go. We usually eat in but really really enjoyed the meal to go. Great friendly service, big portions of hot juicy fish, the hush puppies were AMAZING. Fries and onion rings were spot on as well. With every penny spent. More than likely will continue our to go orders. Keep up the great work of serving your customers.

This Restaurant forces you where to be seated, in the dark corner they gave me and when I said I want river view he refused the boy, even there were few empty tables, and we said ok we will leave, answered he can't do anything as bout it. We walked and a smart waitress asked us what's the matter, and gave us a river view table. Food always good. But service no.

GROSS!!! GROSS!!! GROSS!!! Party of seven at 3:30pm on Saturday 04/08/2023. It was not busy at all. Waitress was unprofessional - had a mask hanging off her face - sat down at the end of the table to take our order. We actually had to shout our order to her! Our food was lukewarm, overcooked and disgusting! We waited forever for our food. I order off of the combination plate, grilled shrimp, Cajun cod, baked potato and green beans. The shrimp WAS NOT deveined, it was rubbery, the Cajun cod was not flakey, the baked potato wouldn’t even melt the butter and the green beans were cold. I didn’t eat anything!!! SERIOUSLY…. The waitress didn’t even ask how our meal was… just gave us a to-go boxes. After we left everyone at our table was disappointed- the restaurant had a nice atmosphere. I DO NOT recommend going to this restaurant.

Great place to go if you'd like to eat outside and watch the Ohio River. Even better for The Great Steamboat Race! Shame the Carry Out department doesn't do grilled or broiled. The lady running it before 4 pm was very friendly. Had a terrific waitress on 10/15/23

Great fish restaurant where they have a little bit of everything. The spot is perfect on the Ohio river right next to the Louisville Water Tower. You can dine in or eat next to the river outside. Inside make you feel like you are on a pier next to the ocean. The outside seating overlooks the majestic Ohio river. There is a playground for the kids, swings and a stage for live band music. Watching sunsets from here is amazing.

My family had a great time at King Fish. We wanted to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful weather so we ordered carry-out. We ordered too much food, but it was all very good. I think the only thing that we didn't finish was the fries. My little guy especially loved playing on the playground while we waited.

Not very impressed by this location. We were visiting the area and planning to go to one under the bridge, on the river but GPS took us to this location on the River Rd. Very unorganized even at 2:30 pm. Server never checked on and l brought any missing items, made us waiting for butter for crab legs that's supposed to be obvious, and what we received was a chunk of frozen butter. Smh. You cannot use the "we are short excuse" anymore people.

I ordered the seafood platter with ff & mac n cheese. The mac n cheese was cold when I got my food. Probably won't visit again

Thank you to KingFish for hosting our event FDBM! You have a beautiful environment, friendly staff and great food! The parking was perfect and I can wait to visit at a later date and bring more of my friends.

It was a lovely day to have lunch on the veranda while the grandkids enjoyed the playground and the swings while watching the river traffic. The service was good, considering they appeared to be short-staffed and especially with the in and out required. Complimentary hush puppies are great. The food is consistently the same as it was when my parents brought me here to the River Road location as a child. The onion rings are really good. I like the fried scallops and the fish sandwich is always good too.

We opted to ear outside along the Ohio River edge. It was nice, but the waitress seemed a little annoyed that we were the only people out there. I prefer not to be in a building when someone snaps and a mass shooting breaks out, ya never know! We were served 2 free hush puppies, and that was IT. For the price, it really wasn't worth it to me. Nothing stands out as far as being good. The fish was a little dry and the homemade onion rings are were not fully cooked. Now, it could have just been our timing or something, but if you are going to pay a good amount of money, go to Red Lobster.......

Love the fact it's next to the river, has a small outdoor play area for kids, and offered outdoor seating with a live band. Good wine selection. Enjoyed the hush puppies. Short staffed as the sign on entry states so we expected slower service. Unfortunately the food was rivaled by Long John Silver, just higher-priced. Long John would win! Salmon was super dry and over cooked! What a waste! Atmosphere inside could use a refresh. Overall I'd reccomend going elsewhere.

Was seated as we walked in, great all the way around. Only improvement would be the river area, but that might not be Kingfishs responsibility.

Such a great place for a casual meal. My 5 year old loves the play area. The swings and seating down by the river is a really nice place to enjoy a drink and look at water. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The food was great and they have a large menu. We will definitely return.

Our waitress, Emerald, was phenomenal!!! She stayed on top of our needs but wasn't overbearing. She has a beautiful smile and compassionate personality that is excellent for your restaurant!! When we drive back through Louisville, we will definitely stop by for a delicious meal.....and will be asking for Emerald!!

The food was okay. We had a buffet. They kept the food coming. The service was pretty good. It was a beautiful night. There was hardly anyone there. Feel like they need to do our change something to bring more people in.

Here it is Father's Day and this busy business did not take long to have us seated. Our waitress was friendly and personable. She was accurate with our order and saw to it our tea glasses were full. Our food was served hot or cold what ever was appropriate in a very timely manner. I highly recommend you enjoy dining here.

We were traveling for our 36th wedding anniversary and on the homeward bound part of the trip. We took off of the highway to find a place to eat and were so fortunate to find King Fish. It is located in a picturesque location along the Ohio River. We were seated by the windows overlooking the water, and a barge passed during our meal. Since it was our first time her, Judy recommended the seafood platter, which included cocktail and fried shrimp, a hand-breaded cod fillet, sea scallops, oysters, a pair of frog legs, and a crab cake. As we visited, she learned that our anniversary was on the previous day and brought us the most delicious, warm, and moist brownie for desert. This was the best dining experience of our trip, and we owe a big thank you to Judy for taking such good care of us while we were there and making this a very memorable evening.

I came here for a middle school football banquet for my nephew so my experience was not as a regular diner in the restaurant - we had buffet style service. The food was pretty good for a buffet/banquet dinner… tender chicken and well cooked fish, good French fries and they have fantastic hush puppies. The banquet did not include alcoholic drinks so we had to go to the bar for that (downstairs). LaToya was the bartender and she makes an excellent Old Fashioned and Bloody Mary, plus she is incredibly kind to all the patrons I witnessed… she is too not h but they are very under staffed. It also snowed that afternoon and I am quite sure it was barely above 60 inside - people were eating with coats on. The lady running the buffet was a tad cranky but probably because she had very little help. A+ for LaToya and minus a star for slow service, cold temperatures inside (saving money but almost uncomfortable)… food was pretty good!

awesome! We had not been here in two years. I remember why I love this place , so much. The key to a great fish dinner is it has to be Hot, and Fresh. Great table service, and all options you can think of to eat. King Fish has it all covered, and does it with high efficiency. Kayla was our table service personnel. She is great at her job.

Wonderful meal overlooking the river. It was a lovely evening. The fish was fresh the onion rings french fries the complete order and we had a few orders everything was exactly right. The staff was very thin they really need help I did wait a while but one sweet worker that was working the cash register also had to prepare and gather the food and answer the phone and she was doing it all by herself! We tipped generously!

We had a nice dining experience on my first visit. I had heard many wonderful things about King Fish. The service and quality of food lived up to each of the expectations. The views of the Ohio River are spectacular. We sat in the bar area and the service was nice. The waitress was attentive to our needs and did a nice job maintaining a large area with a number of guests.

One of my favorite restaurants since I was a child. I crave the thick buttery white fish, huge hush puppies and giant onion rings. King fish has been around a long time and has had its ups and downs but currently I highly recommend it. The food we have been getting there has been delicious, hot and fresh. I believe they have been short staffed as most places have but the staff we have had went out do their way and busted their butts to take great care of us and it was very much appreciated.

We took a curry out fish box for two and we sit outside by the river it was delicious and nice view too!! We will come back for sure. it’ll be my favorite spot to eat
