Beautifully maintained and preserved mansion in the historic section of old Louisville. The tour is only $12 and lasts for an full hour. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. The architecture of the house is stunning. I highly recommend.

Very interesting place, unfortunately we had to head back to NH before the tours so couldn't see the inside. Unbelievably beautiful, will definitely go back someday and try to take the tour.

Got to meet one of the descendants of one of the original owners. Beautiful home with a lot of carved wood! The original owner wanted all the newest technologies. I recommend the tour! No pictures inside allowed.

Such an incredible experience. The house is beautiful and the tour guides are so engaging. The guide I had was a descendent of the second family that lived in the house. Great tour and they allow you to take as many pictures as you’d like. Definitely worth the visit.

An incredible mansion that, when built it was way ahead of its time. Self guided tours or accompanied by a guide, your choice. There are volunteers posted around the house to answer all your questions, and believe me, you'll have questions. A must see when you're in Old Louisville.

The tour was fabulous! Our guide was a Caldwell granddaughter and had great family stories and lots to say about the house. I’m a fan of old houses and have toured quite a few. This one is nice, but felt a little sterile to me. There’s some really cool woodwork and more space than a lot houses from the late 19th century. The house is nice and you should see it, but it was the guide that made it a 5 star experience.

My wife and I love touring old homes and hearing the history. We've done this in almost every state. However, this was the first time that one of the descendants, Beth Caldwell, gave the tour. Not only is it a fascinating house with some interesting history, she really brought it alive with all kinds of personal stories about the people that live there. Very well done and a information packed our plus tour. Since the cost of upkeep is high and they're trying to refurbish some things, it is well worth the price of admission.

We debated on doing the self guided tour vs the guided tour, and we are so glad we did the guided tour because our tour guide was awesome! She was very knowledgeable because she was a relative of one if the original owners which made it all very personal. Her stories were great and brought it all to life for us. I highly recommend the guided tour if you aren't sure. You won't be disappointed!

Had the pleasure of touring the Conrad-Caldwell Home today. I was amazed on the preservation of this beautiful Victorian mansion. The Caldwell granddaughters are active volunteers and provide first hand accounts and memories from the home that provides a truly unique experience in this home. I felt like a guest as opposed to a tourist. Huge thanks to Barb who truly made my visit extra special. While this home is truly amazing, it was the love and attention of the volunteers that left me most in awe.

We visited this house museum this past Saturday. The house is beautiful with amazing architecture and furnishings. The staff are friendly and full of stories about the families who lived there. The surrounding neighborhood is beautiful as well.

It's an incredible slice of Louisville history that's been preserved to the best extent possible. From the architecture to the artifacts, if you have time during your visit I don't believe you'll be disappointed with the tour. You can do a self guided tour but I would highly recommend having a guide narrate for you. What was a really special part of our visit is that a volunteer member of the original was our tour guide.

Amazing home in Old Louisville which is America's largest Victorian neighborhood. 48 blocks of these houses. This one is especially fantastic. Make a visit here highly recommended. Can't say it enough.

What a gem! My girlfriend and I enjoyed the spacious guided home tour both in the wealth of historical information shared and interior design amazement. No AAA discount and the highest admission we’ve found from our home tours ($20 per person), but definitely worth it overall. We didn’t care for the large tour group size which made some rooms too small for all attendees. To be honest this home feels MASSIVE on the inside (much bigger than the outside suggests) so it made for a longer tour, which everyone in the group warmly welcomed! The woodwork is very impressive; I found the 3D parquet floor border design in the elite parlor mind-blowing. The third floor billiards room was impressive as was the main staircase. The families themselves were an interesting mix. The home did change occupants after 1947 which contributed to a few alterations in the floor plan, but it is mostly original. If interested try the Howard Home Museum in Jeffersonville and the Culbertson Home Museum in New Albany 🙂🙏

Our guide had an unrelenting passion for the house. She had never lived there, but was part of the family. She had interesting background stories about each room. The house is well furnished with original and/or contemporary items. My personal favorite was the pool room.

The Conrad-Caldwell Museum is a must see if you’re a fan of beautiful historic homes. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable, we took the self guided tour and they answered any and every question we had.

Beautiful building. Lots of history. Lots of detail to marvel at. The tour was very slow paced. This was a little anxiety producing, especially considering how hot it was inside the building during the tour which made it very uncomfortable. Recommend going in a cooler month. We went September 2021. Plan 1.5 hours for tour (or be prepared to leave early and miss the 3rd floor). In my opinion, this tour at 45-50 minutes max, would probably be perfect. The whole tour is standing, I would have preferred to walk around a bit.

We LOVED the house and tour! Usually we don’t pay for tours, but we did this time and it was totally worth it! The sweet lady who told the tour is the great granddaughter of the original homeowner, so there were lots of personal stories. She was so knowledgeable! Tickets are $10/each. Masks were required but also provided. One hour long, but probably would have been longer if we’d asked lots of questions. Totally worth it!

This is a beautiful historical home. So worth seeing. I come every year for the tea party. My sister's and I really enjoy it. It is an awesome experience. Nice to bring little girls to. You can tour the house after tea. Everyone should try it at least once!

Very beautiful, the house is absolutely gorgeous and well kept. The family volunteers and tells you all kinds of awesome things about their family history. Definitely a must see if you are in the area. They were incredibly kind and informative.

Beth, Cheryl, and Keith were wonderful docents who answered all my many niche questions. I enjoyed learning about the many generations and families that have lived here, including the servants perspectives and the retirement home. The preservation and restoration is very high quality. There are ghost stories associated with the site too so very cool and worth a visit!

Dear history lovers…visiting this beautiful home really takes you back, especially when your guide is a relative of the family that lived there…I thought that was such an exciting experience, I have never been anywhere where a family member was our guide. It made it so fun to hear the stories that took place in this lovely home. You step back in time, as there are so many pieces left from the original owners…the Christmas season is a great time to visit, since they decorate it so beautifully. No pictures to post, I personally like the element of surprise…you must plan a visit wether you are a local or tourist.

My wife and I went for an evening tour built around an exploration of death and dying during the Gilded period. Cool house with friendly staff and historical actors. Lots to look at. Will probably return for a regular daytime tour. ool taste of Old Louisville.

Place is beautiful. My some got married there. The only thing I wasn’t happy about was they were told that guest could arrive at , look around and ceremony at 3:30. They changed it day before and said guest couldn’t come in till 4, and ceremony start at 4:30 unless they paid $300 to cover all the tourist ticket sales they would lose in that hour. Had to contact all the guest and move wedding an hour later

Lovely tour given by a descendant of the Caldwells. Quite an interesting design to the house and access to three stories. Well worth a stop.

Wonderfully preserved home that you can walk thru(every room) and explore. Docents share their knowledge with you and are friendly. Gift shop is on site and has delightful items to buy! There is a park across the street for a quick picnic.

Very interesting place, where you get to see a lit of bit of the history of the city too. A MUST. The lady in the reception was very kind with me because I went with my baby, and she let me let the stroller and baby bag there. Thanks!! 🙏🏻

A BEAUTIFUL home. I'd like to return for a full tour. I visited for the Christmas home tour. I'm interested in certain features in the home particularly the in house phone with various extensions in the house. I'd also like to know more about the various woods used inside this beautiful home. The hot and cold water knob fixtures in the 2nd floor bathroom was really interesting to see

My 11 year old son wanted to see inside this house and do a tour after learning about it on a ghost tour the night before. Everyone here was so nice and helpful and answered all the questions my son had. We did the self guided tour because we didn't have time to wait on the next guided tour, but he was still able to ask questions to the different tour guides on each floor. They were so friendly and very informative. The highlight for him was meeting an actual Caldwell (Mrs. Beth) and asking her about the stories told about Grace. Highly recommend touring this house if you ever find yourself in Louisville. The woman inside the gift shop, Mrs. Ann I believe was her name, was so helpful when we were purchasing our tickets and afterwards when he was trying to decide on a memento from his tour. Of course he got the ghost story book!
