Really enjoyed this tour. It’s nice to go on a tour that doesn’t have the same information about bourbon in general. The building has been repurposed and amazing. When I walked in I was greeted by the friendliest cat employee. When the tour started, the owner popped in to say hi. When it ended and we were in the tasting room, he popped in just to chat must like you would be talking to a friend at a bar. The product is high quality and high proof. Def a worthwhile experience.

DSP-50 with a great family heritage in the care and production of the product. The owner came in to speak to us at a tasting and I could have listened to him talk all day about stories with the almond brothers, his grandfather starting the distillery and many other things. 15-20min walking distance from most downtown hotels and located on the river. Recommend coming in for the tasting at this intimate smaller location to learn what your palate may lean in to with their brand. Personally for me the peerless cowboy bourbon cocktail single barrel wad my favorite pour. Cheers and enjoy

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Kentucky Peerless Distillery, and it was truly an exceptional experience. Nestled in the heart of bourbon country, this distillery stands out not just for its fantastic spirits but also for its warm hospitality and rich history. We missed the tour timings but we got a chance to do the tasting session. The tasting session was a highlight. The variety of bourbons offered showcased the distillery's commitment to quality and craftsmanship. Each sip revealed layers of flavor, demonstrating the expertise that has been passed down through generations. The staff was not only passionate about their product but also eager to answer any questions, making the experience all the more enjoyable. The ambiance of the distillery is inviting and exudes a sense of tradition. The historic building adds a touch of authenticity to the visit, transporting you back in time while enjoying modern-day bourbon excellence. The on-site gift shop is a bourbon enthusiast's paradise. From limited-edition releases to unique merchandise, there's something for every bourbon lover to take home as a memento of their visit. In conclusion, Kentucky Peerless Distillery is a gem that captures the essence of bourbon culture. Whether you're a seasoned enthusiast or a casual visitor, this distillery is a must-visit destination. I left with a newfound appreciation for the art of bourbon making and a bottle (or two) of their exceptional spirits to savor at home. Cheers to Kentucky Peerless Distillery for an unforgettable experience!

Amazing experiences. This was our 6 th distillery during our visit and I went there with low expectations. But far exceeded my expectations. Tour was awesome and tried the bourbon straight from the barrel. Had a great time!

Very interesting tour, fantastic tastings. Well stocked gift shop with many lovely souvenirs and gifts. And fantastic bourbons and ryes! Absinthe barrel finished rye? Oh my!

Peerless gave a great tasting experience. The bourbon had just been released when we were here two years ago and we were surprised by the additional offerings. Double Oakes Bourbon and Rye were a nice surprise even though they are not easy to get. The Bourbon and Rye are both worth the price. Parking is a little odd around the distillery. Make sure the meter display is active, if it isn’t… park in the Air Garage.

My wife and I visited the distillery on a trip to Louisville this week. It all came about from me trying their rye whiskey at a local bar. Before I spend so much on anything I insist to try it somewhere. It was delicious and smooth so we lucked out and caught a tour the next day. It had all of what you would expect from distillery tours with a great deal of interesting information on history. The tasting was of their small batch bourbon, their rye and two single barrels (one bourbon and one rye as well) which rotate to a new single barrel when they run out. These single barrels are distillery only and overpriced at $120-ish. They were good, but it’s the usual money grab at tourists tossing money around at a distillery only drink. Overall we had a great time and enjoyed the beautiful design of the spaces. We even met the owner as it is a small place and he wanders around saying hello.

One of the must-see distilleries on Whiskey Row in Louisville. Fun tour of distillery history and current location association. Really unique and excellent bourbons and ryes, cool tasting room. One of the best bottles on the market and the contents is exceptional. Highly recommend tour and tasting, and the bourbons and ryes. Plus, they have a very friendly distillery cat!

Got to do a tasting and it was amazing! The Rye was the highlight of the tasting and Gwen (I believe) was a great guide. Definitely try if you can get in.

It was great to visit Peerless, and find out it was one of the smaller distilleries (2500 barrels per year). The tour was very personal, since we only had about 6 people, and because Peerless is a close knit family run business with a small number of dedicated employees. We received a good tour of the place from Alex, who also gave us some background on the family and the history of The Distillery. Great info was provided on the distilling process as well. I highly recommend a visit.

Beautiful distillery in the heart of downtown Louisville. We toured it as a family and had a blast. Our tour guide was excellent and really gave us a great tour and you could tell he really loves working at Peerless. Grabbed a couple bottles of the Single Barrell Bourbon as I love their Bourbon. Can't wait to stop by next time I'm in Louisville!!!

Absolutely loved our experience, and the bourbon at Peerless. This is a gorgeous facility and very knowledgeable staff. The tour was very informative of the process of bourbon and rye making. We got a double barrel bourbon and some merch to remind us of our experience here. Parking is available right across the street. You will love it here.

This tour was a great, behind the scenes look at their distilling process. The guide was good and the tasting was really good. We ended up buying all four single barrel options available when we had only planned to buy one of them. Parking is a little weird (the meters were all broken, but we parked there anyway with no issue). The cat is adorable.

This is a small distillery in downtown Louisville boasting quite the cast of characters in its history. I won’t spoil the story - take the tour and learn it yourself! This is a worthwhile stop on the bourbon trail. Our guide Nikki was lots of fun and very knowledgeable. We were able to sample four products and keep our glass. The owner of the distillery greeted our group with warmth and a personal thank you. As far as parking- we were able to easily find a spot on the street and pay the meter. We did see the lot others referred to but didn’t park there. The tour does require stairs. Peerless is within walking distance of places to eat as well as several other distilleries on the trail.

Ron was our guide. The family history is strong there and it was great to hear of past history and how it blends into today, including the fight to regain the original distillery #. Very informative tour and the history and distillery steps were very well presented visually. Nice to include a cooper's display. Ron was very excited to share the info and was very good. The tasting was great and not rushed at all. Peerless double oaked rye and bourbon are excellent products, and we added the rye and the special spiced sugarcane to our collection. One of the best tours we have had.

This is my 3rd time at KY peerless. Just now getting around to leaving a review so buckle up. First off got to meet the master distiller my first visit. It was like we had been friends our whole life. The passion and drive he has for the industry is one that is contagious. The history of this distillery like most is rich but this one hits different with the extensive roots all over the United States. Also Brian was our tour guide for all of our tours and same thing with him, like we had known each other for years. Great job done by him, and leading us through the tasting. Overall this is our favorite distillery on the bourbon trail. The whiskey is great, history as well, but the people are A1.

Best distillery tour in Louisville. Every room smells heavenly in their distillery, not just the barrel room. They have the cutest little cat that roams the gift shop. Tour guide was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Great selection of amazing straight & rye bourbon! I’m a local to Louisville and I cannot name another tour that’s on this level. 10/10!!!

Wonderful distillery and tour! Family owned and the make you feel like family! Chase was an excellent tour guide! Tasting was top notch and that double oak bourbon is something else! Must see you won’t be disappointed!

Our tour was great! Upon first entering, we were greeted by Rye, the distillery cat who kept us company until our tour began. Our tour guide did a great job, and I enjoyed hearing about all of the history of Peerless. I found this to be the most personable distillery tour I've gone on in Kentucky and would strongly recommend it to anyone. Last but not least, the whiskey they make is all top-notch as well. Their production from using sweet mash to the barrels they use all contribute to a truly unique product.

I was completely blown away with the Heratige Tour. I did not expect the level of personal attention and detail that is involved with this tour. Co-owner Carson Taylor explained the history of his and his father's family owned Distillery exemplary. You can tell the love for this distillery isn't just about money, it's about family and history. Then there's Peyton Beall. She's your contact person for the heritage tour. She does an extraordinary job of explaining the sweet mash cooking and fermentation process. She's also your hook up for the tasting experience, which, if I must say, is the best on the bourbon trail. Opportunities exist to purchase no longer available bottles. Last but certainly not least is Caleb Kilburn Master Distiller. This was the best part for me. Talking with him about the controls and operation of the still was absolutely amazing. Anything you want to know about operating their process, he's the guy to ask. The bottom line is that if you don't take this tour, then you're completely missing out.

The first distillery visit was to @kentuckypeerless a couple weeks ago. Located on the west portion of downtown Louisville, it was only a 10 minute walk to the distillery from our hotel. Fortunately for us, the weather began to warmup enough that the short trip was enjoyable. The signage on Main St. help those who are unfamiliar with the locations of the distilleries on the urban bourbon trail, of course if you are armed with a smart phone, this isn’t much of an issue. Peerless is not necessarily the new kids on the block, as their first barrel was filled in 1881, however they did go through a period in which no whiskey was coming out. It wasn’t until the business was revived in 2014 by Corky and Carson Taylor, that the brand was revived. Corky Taylor took the time to greet us when we arrived and welcomed us to his business. Upon hearing that I was a veteran, he took us in the back and gave us some more history that I hadn’t heard. Namely, that Corky’s dad was the right-hand man to General Patton. Yes, that General Patton! Corky was very proud of his dad and rightly so. Corky has much pride for his dad and for all of us veterans. We had to cut the history lesson short as we were there for a tasting. That also meant pulling my youngest daughter away from her first distillery cat encounter, Rye. The tasting included the core lineup of bourbon and rye, along with the single barrel offering of the same two which were distillery-only. Our guide also threw in a sample of the double oak offering since we were such a good group 😜. Honestly all of the whiskey we sampled were phenomenal, especially the single barrels. Talk about a flavor bomb. My wife, who up until this point did not like rye whiskey, became in instant fan of Peerless’ ryes. Our decision to purchase them was a resounding one, along with two new lifelong fans of this distillery were what left the distillery that afternoon. If you get a chance to stay or visit Louisville, you can not miss the opportunity to check out what is happening at this top tier place.

We visited Peerless on a Saturday in early September. We had reservations for a tour. We have gone on tons of distillery tours, and this one was by far the best one we ever had. Chase conducted our tour, and we could see how knowledgeable and passionate he was about the product. Several of the people in our group were asking lots and lots of questions. He never looked impatient and answered all the questions perfectly. The product itself is fabulous, so we had to take a bottle home. We will definitely do the tour again when we go back to Lexington.

Ken did a fantastic job providing an informative tour about the Peerless Distilling Co. and the history of 4 generations. I had family in town and they enjoyed the tour and learning about Peerless along with the tasting at the end of the tour. Easy to get to and park, and cool building and operation including Rye the cat.

Awesome distillery tour. Met the owner who told us the history of the family and the distillery. The distillery was emaculant and our tasting experience was second to none. Definitely put on your list if visiting Louisville.

My wife and I went on the Heritage Tour and I cannot say enough about how much we enjoyed it. The owner Corky Taylor was absolutely wonderful. Our tour guide Peyton was knowledgeable and personable, everything you hope for in a tour guide. As for the bourbon and whiskey I would advise buying all you can. Their Rye whiskey is truly wonderful as is any of their single barrel releases. We spent over 3 hours on this tour/tasting/visit and I hope we get to do it again soon. Mark and Nancy Holleman

My boyfriend and I went on a tour and did a tasting. The tour guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic. The bourbon all tasted great. 10 out of 10 would recommend.

We loved our tour and experience at Peerless distilling. Possibly our favorite and unexpected part was the distillery pest control, Rye the cat. While we also really enjoyed our tour at one of the bigger distilleries, we did not see very much of the actual distilling process. Peerless shows you every aspect of distilling, from grain to bottle. Concluding the tour, they provide tastings of four exceptional whiskeys (two bourbons and two ryes). They also let you keep the nice glassware after the tasting. I appreciated the option to buy 200 ml smaller sample bottles of their offerings from their visitor shop. Go to Peerless now!

Visited Peerless for a tasting and it was a great experience. The hosts were fantastic and the bourbon was tasty. Just missed the double oak but the single barrel options were fantastic. I look forward to coming back soon and taking the tour!

This is a great tour with a little more historic feel. Through some hard work, the family has kept it going more or less though several generations. Our tour guide, Mark, was very knowledgeable and seemed genuinely interested himself. The lineage is Jewish so there were some Kosher elements that are different than other tours. Peerless let’s you look in the tanks and see the mash and also the different levels of char of the barrels. It was kind and observant to offer water along the way as well. The tasting was good and you get to keep your glass.

We had a wonderful time at Peerless. We visited 12 distilleries, just to give some perspective. The craft atmosphere of Peerless was excellent. The tour guide was knowledgeable, engaging…and the president came to the tour to thank us. Peerless was the ONLY distillery where the owner came to speak to the guests. We also loved their offerings. Each sample was absolutely delicious. It was a great experience. Oh, and they have a cat!

  • 5/5 Michael S. 1 year ago on Google
This is great tour. What I liked best, and hard to find at other distilleries, is that Peerless always has at least one unique single barrel bourbon or rye to taste and purchase. We go though Louisville once or twice a year and Peerless is always a stop!

  • 3/5 Brenda B. 1 year ago on Google
We got here just after they opened and when we walked in the atmosphere was a little intimidating, the staff was all standing around the front counter just staring at us. So we walked up to the counter and started taking to the staff. They were very friendly. We were not about to take the tour, but we did the express tasting. We were taken to a tasting room where there were several bottles to choose from but we were only allowed to pick Two. It was a decent place, a little on the pricey side. It's part of the bourbon tour so check it out.

My boyfriend and I really enjoyed our tour at Peerless. The distillery was located at the end of whiskey row in an unassuming “warehouse”. Our favorite part was being able to see the day to day operation and interact with the workers. It was also really cool to see a barrel being dumped. The staff was super friendly, especially Rye, she definitely deserves a raise. The only criticism was that we used the same glencairn throughout the whole tasting instead of them having each sample in a separate glass. Overall, definitely worth a visit.

  • 5/5 Jonathan B. 1 year ago on Google
I did the tasting and it was really enjoyable. The host was very knowledgeable and informative. I’ll be doing the tour for sure on my next visit. They are distilling really good bourbon and rye here.
