Outstanding experience. I learned more about Kentucky in the 2 hrs. I spent there than in my previous 68 yrs. The displays were well thought out and extremely interesting. The museum has 3 floors of easy to navigate space. Great museum and a must see when visiting Louisville.

Kentucky proud. An eclectic museum dedicated to Kentuckians. The three story museum offered a glimpse into many different parts of the commonwealths past and present. You get your moneys worth, there is much to see.

Great stop in downtown Louisville to learn more about the history of Kentucky. I particularly liked the third floor exhibit "Spirit of Kentucky" with The Bottle Hall and interactive Gracious table. I got a better appreciation of how the history and geology of Kentucky make it the best place to make bourbon. There are 2 staff led tours at 11 am and 1 pm and daily bourbon tastings. It was well worth the $12/person entry fee.

Wonderful place. Exhibits provide content on ways in which bourbon was made. The bourbon collection room is amazing!!! It has all brands of bourbon that is currently sold on the market. Next to it, there is a room depicting a bar. It’s also beautiful. The museum also gives the history of Kentucky, and even touch base on the part on native Americans.

This was mostly interesting. Focuses a lot on whiskey, sports, and war miniatures. Lots of neat art also (some by local kids). There's also a section on the journey of Lewis and Clark with lots to read if you're interested.

We visited for the “Influential Black People in Bourbon” masterclass that included a tasting and I would definitely recommend that. It was delicious and very informative in a fun way! I also enjoyed the exhibits and would recommend the museum for kids and adults.

We've been here a few times and it's definitely worth a visit. We love that they host different events like the Bourbon Tasting and 1920's Speakeasy event!

So rich information that I never knew about Kentucky. They had really good information. I really like the third floors which is full of spirits, speakeasy, and details of bourbon. It was great experience. I would love to come back for more.

This is a museum about the history of Kentucky and it does a great job of doing that. It has a great exhibit on the making of bourbon and the history of bourbon. I bought some bourbon in the gift shop because it just felt like the right thing to do. Really attractive museum.

The Frazier Museum was very cool and much more family oriented than I expected. There are three floors to explore with lots of history of bourbon and Louisville, in general. Also, the gift shop had a large collection of bourbon themed items since it is the starting location for the bourbon trail.

Best museum in town. Has a few floors you start at top floor. Has an elevator. No parking lot. Parking is our front by meter free on weekends. Can find tickets on Groupon.

A different kind of history museum with a lot of hands on exhibits. I enjoyed it as an adult and I think kids will like it too. I also learned a lot about whiskey.

A lovely museum with wonderful exhibits that thoughtfully covered a wide range of the history of Kentucky. Very informative and very interesting. We enjoyed the museum. I got so engrossed in the museum I forgot to take photos after the bourbon exhibition!

I have not been to the Frazier museum in several years. It has evolved into a wider museum of Louisville and Kentucky history, it's not just a gun collection. They have Tori Murdan's boat, a very nice Christmas Tree collection and I especially enjoyed watching the Kentucky show.

Another neat place to visit if you are in Louisville. Take a step back in time and learn some history. We came on a motorcoach trip and also had a very good meal catered in for us before we went through the museum. All enjoyed our time here.

Stopped in the museum for my first time. The experience was amazing. Learning many different things about the history of Kentucky was also an exciting adventure to share with my family. The customer service was great. The view from the rooftop deck was amazing. A must visit when you're in Louisville. 👍🏾 👍🏾 👍🏾 👍🏾

Very interesting place to go. Nice staff. The facility was clean. Including the restrooms. In my opinion they set a very high standard for what a museum could, and should be. I was very impressed. If you visit I also recommend taking a tour with Brian.

I just wanted to leave a review to commend the staff and the museum on a wonderful experience. We were going to go to the speed art museum today, but I didn't like the tone of their website, their poor Google reviews, and excessive restrictions. We decided to come to the Frazier today instead, and wow! We had an amazing time! We used a Groupon which was a great deal. All the staff members were so easygoing and friendly, the museum and restrooms were impeccably clean, there were lots of benches and chairs to take breaks and relax, and the exhibits were engaging. The Louis and Clark exhibit was so fun and immersive. The bourbon exhibit was cool. Our 4 year old loved the whole museum, and we did too! I loved seeing all the updates since I've last been. Thank you for a wonderful time at the museum. The employees were happy and friendly, and we felt so at ease. With the negative way some other museums are being run, our experience at Frazier was like a breath of fresh air. You all are doing something right at the Frazier- keep it up! We bought another Groupon already, and will be back soon!

One of the most beautiful museums in the Louisville, KY area. Also, there is gift shop inside the museum that you can find lots of adorable stuff with unbelievable price and of course look for the best Bourbon whiskey there!

I've lived in Louisville my whole life, but this museum wasn't opened until I was in high school, so it wasn't a part of our field trip agendas through my education like the other local museums. I had only once been on the premises for a private event. We corrected that yesterday when we took my father to visit for a belated birthday outing. The staff was kind enough to comp his ticket as a birthday treat. I know now that I should have gone to visit Frazier sooner! The facility itself is well-kept, sunny, and organized well to maximize the space and make it seem larger than its footprint. There was just the right amount to see between the three floors that it didn't get boring, and we were able to pass a few happy hours milling about the various exhibits. I appreciated the inclusion of stories and exhibits from native voices and from former slaves, so that their presentation of history isn't entirely whitewashed. The interactive exhibits were entertaining - especially the barrel-building station - and I liked that more modern yet important elements of the city's history, like Ear X-Tacy, were included. Quite possibly the best part... was the gift shop! You guys, how did I miss out on this excellent spot to buy gifts for family & out-of-town friends? You can hit the shop without having to go through the ticketed museum, but I'd recommend doing both. I'll be back again for future exhibits and will hope to catch the bourbon tastings next time!

  • 5/5 Charli S. 6 months ago on Google
This is such a cool space! It's always interesting to see what exhibits they have current. Right now, there is a ton about bourbon--how it's made and bottles from all the distillers in Kentucky. They have interactive learning experiences, docent lead tours, and daily bourbon tastings. The museum is constantly doing something new via a book club, event, or bringing special items out of archives for holidays or other events. And, their gift shop has an amazing selection! We always enjoy our time at Frazier History Museum.

Cute historical museum. Not crowded so you can just purchase the ticket once you get there. The gift shop has so many cool stuff related to bourbon trail. Inside the museum it’s filled with bourbon history and Kentucky history. If you have an hour to spare, I think it’s a cool place to walk around.

Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices had a private event here last night and the entire experience was great. The museum had interesting pieces and utilized technology to make the experience interactive. The setup was nice because it allowed for pockets of spaces where music and food were set up. I loved the displays throughout.

Amazing museum, so much history and colors I loved every moment of being there! I will recommend it in Chile so they can come and see it 🤩

  • 5/5 Caitlin B. 1 year ago on Google
I had a great time here. I wasn't able to get the tasting because I got to the museum at 1:30 and they were sold out. I was told to come early next time to make sure they don't sell out. I went with a friend and we had a great time. They have interactive things sprinkled through out so we built the tiny barrels and might have played checkers at the kids general store :) We were happy to see that they were also telling history about people of color and not shying away from the harshness of history. The Museum closed before we got through the entire thing so we will be back! They have a nice gift store and if you are looking for the Kentucky Bourbon Trail Passport they sell it here along with a glass!

Lovely wedding venue. Rooftop views of the river and the city. Weather was perfect mid-October. Guests were able to see much of museum's interesting exhibits. Catered buffet, open bar, music and dancing. Parking behind building is a bit of a walk. Inside there are elevators.

More to this museum than we originally thought. It has three floors with history of bourbon, Lewis and Clark and Teddy Roosevelt, including his rifle 'the big stick'. They also have Custer's pistol used at Little bighorn. And other exhibits as well.

A mix of kid- and adult- focused activities. Well maintained, good afternoon with the family type activity. Even on a Sunday, was not really busy so you can spend as little out as much time as you'd like going through the exhibits.

  • 5/5 Danielle F. 1 year ago on Google
I've been wanting to visit for years now as a local, but today was the first time we made a visit happen. It was a great experience! Very few people on a rainy Monday afternoon which added to the experience. As a lifelong Kentuckian I thought I had heard most of the stories about "who's who", inventions, events, etc...Boy was I wrong! I learned several surprising facts, and felt it was an afternoon well spent. There was a good mix of interactivity along with the reading and visual elements. My two teenagers aged 17 and 13 were engaged. Note: My 17 year old is got a free membership as a Kentucky college student, so she can visit as much as she'd like. Nice perk for KY and IN college students! In 3 hours we still hadn't seen it all, which was nice. It leaves us something to look forward to on out next visit.

This was my favorite part of our day trip to Louisville. We only looked at the third floor (the bourbon part) and I think that's not a bad idea if that's all you're interested in and you have other things you're doing that day. The third-floor bourbon exhibit was so well put together, and I do not say that lightly; I truly wasn't impressed with a different museum we saw that day, but the Frazier Museum was *mwah.* It complemented very well the "Kentucky Bourbon Country" field guide, which is where I first heard of it. Content was well written, well presented, and well curated. There were some real gems in the bourbon culture/history interactive panels about Prohibition, like media from the time advocating temperance and a woman who was known for organizing attacks on sellers of elicit alcohol, lol, which I will post here.

Very nice museum with interesting exhibits. Good for kids.

  • 4/5 Mike X. 3 years ago on Google
Lots of small exhibits in this museum but nothing really in-depth except for the louis and clark expedition. Lots of daily events so check with them ahead of time on when the free tours are. The louis and clark experience and the bourbon exhibit were definitely the best curated. The women's suffrage movement was also good. Everything else seems a bit random like the miniatures collection and that set of samurai armor.

A little bit of everything here, including Geronimo's bow. Not quite a history museum but can almost pass as one and will be the closest to a history museusm you'll find in the city. This Frazier guy sure amassed quite the collection of items. From historical, to just odd. Either way, the guy was a philanthropist and seeing that most of these items came from his own collection, you'll be hard pressed to find some of these items elsewhere. The lewis and Clark exhibit was great. Worth the bucks and time.

I really enjoyed this museum. Prior to going I really didn't know much about this and didn't really have high expectations. I'm glad to say I was pleasantly surprised and enjoyed the collection they have here. It took me about an hour to see everything so it's not huge, but there's still plenty here to see.

I went with my seven and nine-year-olds and really enjoyed the section on Louis and Clark. There were some interesting guns and military toys. I thought the emphasis on bourbon was really weird. Roughly half the square footage of the museum was devoted to it and most of the gift shop. I can see a small blurb or even section but this seemed excessive

  • 4/5 Dylan S. 4 years ago on Google
A history museum of Louisville and Kentucky. Really large historical tour of bourbon. They have cool displays of the Kentucky Derby specially labeled Woodford Reserve bottles. Bottle hall has every bourbon currently in production and is a great photo op. The gift shop has some special bourbons and vintage bourbons.

This museum was a lot better than I was expecting. Although its quite expensive at $14 admission for an adult, I thought it was worth it. Start on the 3rd floor in the Bourbon exhibit and official starting point of the Kentucky Bourbon Trail, this was also my favorite part. Work your way downstairs and try to see the KentuckyShow! if you have time. Loved this informative video. Also a great place to take children!

This is my happy place. If you are a history nerd like me, a gun enthusiast, into knights in shining armor, this place has it all. Avoid the overpriced gift shop, and you don't really need the headphones unless you don't like reading.

This place is amazing! We spent 3 hours until closing time and could have spent more. The Lewis and Clark exhibit is immersive and SO COOL. The whole museum is done very well, so engaging and clean. In the hours we were there we only saw one other couple. Felt very safe regarding COVID.

We had a Groupon. I enjoyed it, but my child (9)was kind of bored. There was a lot to see and read but not much he could touch. He wanted to leave to go to the science centre. The Lewis and Clark area was fun, but because of Covid some of the hands on things were removed. We'll have to try again at a later date. He did like the miniature soldiers. I enjoyed the Women's suffrage exhibit the most. The museum was very clean. Three of the staff members I encountered were nice and helpful; however, the lady in the gift shop didn't speak. She didn't greet us when we entered, offer any help or acknowledge us as we left. I didn't buy anything.

Disappointed. Stopped into the gift shop and found nothing that interested me history wise. It appeared that about 60 percent of it was nothing but bourbon related items and booze along with boutique kitchy items. Liked it better when it actually featured a great deal of historical related items and gifts when it contained military related items.
