Nice well maintained trails, but plan ahead. You have to coordinate a day in advance to get access to the parking lot (there is no place near to park). Check out my picture for the phone number. If there isn't recent rain, you will only have a trickle of water over the falls, but you will still enjoy the shaded hike.

So. They gave me a code. It was wrong. I called on a Saturday morning and a friendly lady gave me the right code. It got me in and I locked myself in. No one else was there. The Falls and Gorge are cool. On the way out I realized I didn't write the new code down. It has 10000 possible combinations. I tried what I thought it was to no avail. I called that nice lady back but no one answered. There was an emergency contact but it only took messages. I was over 100 miles from home and had concert tickets for that evening. I sure didn't want to spend the night in a parking lot or call the cops on myself. I eventually decided to take out my handy toolkit and with a socket I removed 2 cable clamps. I moved my car to the other side of the cable and reattached the cable clamps. My advice..... write down the code and keep a toolkit in your car.

The trail was pretty good, though at times could be a little difficult to follow. The falls is not very far down the trail. if you want to visit, I recommend doing so after some sort of rain event so that you will have water going over the falls. if you do want to visit, you do need to contact the Jefferson memorial Forest visitor center and register. However, it is super easy and I would definitely recommend visiting this park.

This is a little unknown gem and the town of Louisville easy to get to not so easy to find GPS made me pass it twice there's not a very big sign pointing out the displaced but if you look hard you can find it it's an easy walk although it was muddy when we went still an easy walk for two people and a dog they only let 3 Cars a day in so you have to get a horde of the proper people to get the code although we did and need it but you need to look it up on Google I cannot remember at this time it was a nice visit only took about 15 minutes to hike it enjoy

Don't trouble yourself with the whole lock thing. Take hidden creek road and park a 1/4 mile down the way and the trail runs across the road. You're not missin much if you do this and you'll find the trail just fine.. waterfall is drying up but the scenery is beautiful. Very easy traill but cliffsides make it sketchy for children

Potentially VERY DANGEROUS!!! You could easily fall to your death here! Wasn't really sure what to expect, however glad we went. I understand why the padlock. There was also person in a golf cart at the top keeping an eye on us. It was not a large trail, rough terrain where you could hurt yourself as it was covered in fall leaves which prevent you from seeing what you are stepping on and you could slide on them as well. Luckily we have had some precipitation ao the waterfall was lovely. We will go back again. Definitely recommend for responsible people. No shenanigans.

We stopped here while visiting Louisville. We did call the number to get the lock code the same morning that we went. It was easy to do. Just give them some information, and they will give you the code. You can send an email or call. They only allow 3 vehicles a day due to limited parking. There is a cliff with a waterfall which was flowing slowly the day we went. There are trails that we were able to follow, even with all of the leaves on the ground. It's not a huge park but if you enjoy nature it's a nice stop. If the water was flowing more, I'm sure it's really beautiful. The trails are a little rugged but not bad if you watch your step. We spent about an hour there. We did not see a trail map posted there, but it seemed like an easy trail to follow, and the cliff is not very far into the trail. I don't remember seeing a bathroom there either, so stop ahead of time if you need to.

Great waterfall! The trail was a bit muddy. There are only 3 parking spots and you have to call ahead for the combination to unlock the entrance. It also has a picnic table. Highly recommended.

REALLY Beautiful place and a hidden gem! Be sure to make a reservation before going or you will be disappointed- the people giving this place a low rating because of this simply need to use their brains a little more! It was super easy to make the reservation.

Not really a park. The trail is easily missed. Marked by a small sign. There's no designated parking. The trail to the top of the falls is very short but easy. Lots of poison ivy and oak along the trail edges. I'd suggest going after a good rain.

Its not as well known as say the parklands but it is still a nice hidden trail to take and depending on how much rain there has been will impact whether you find a waterfall or just a creek bed with puddles. You will need to contact Jefferson Memorial Forest to gain access as the entrance gate is locked.

Just discovered this beauty. Falls were very pretty even without rain. Requires reservations , only 3 cars per day are allowed. But called an hour before going and had no problem getting in. We took our dog, and had the whole park to ourselves!

Only reason I'm giving this one a 3 is because it was the wrong time of year to hike a waterfall and you don't know u til you get there you have to call and make a reservation to get the code to the gate and only three visitors a day are aloud. I think im going to go back in the spring when the water should be flowing better and try again.

Very short easy hike. Awesome horseshoe shaped waterfall with over a 100ft drop

Call and get the combination. The path is locked so don't just show up. We hiked this Trail again today it was beautiful as always. My daughter loves seeing the falls and so does my dog. The trail is not too strenuous but I wouldn't bring very small children. My kids are in Upper Elementary grades.

Really cool falls. Had to call ahead to get lock combination, sinc the parking lot only holds 3 cars. At first the trail wasn't marked very well, so I called the phone number again for help, and they were very nice. Turns out it's only about a 10-15 hike to get there.

This is the first spot I've ever explored in Louisville! Unfortunately I did not get a photo of the falls on my phone camera because the photos I took with my DSLR aren't any good. At 3-4 pm, the lighting is not great as tree shadows resulted in poor lighting conditions. Would definitely recommend going at solar noon for the best light. The falls themselves are right near the entrance to the trail, and you have to call for a reservation in advanced to get in. After the falls, the trail is short and does not lead to any notable land of water features. I did not find the way to get to the base of the waterfall; that is something I would like to try on subsequent visits.

We had a great time! We went after a good rain so the falls were flowing very well the day we went. Very easy trail hike but when it comes to the creek bed it requires much more agility.
