This is my first bourbon tour in the bourbon district and it was amazing!!! Our guide Andy is very knowledgeable and informative almost to everything. Details are presented, questions are well answered, jokes are funny. When moving to the tasting session at the end, I really appreciate the way he introduced stories behind those bourbons. I got a chance to see those tanks where fermentation is taking place; I can clearly see the surface is bubbling. It’s a quite unique experience. It’s happy to how a brand like Evan Williams has started, developed, thrived, survived from the Prohibition Period and thrived again. I think all distilleries in the district give their own micro images to the ongoing story of Louisville.

Went with a group for a birthday bourbon tasting and had a great time! Learned a lot - a lot of interactive things on the tour like walking through a prohibition style town and having the tasting itself in a speak easy style bar room - the tasting itself was wonderful and our hosts were awesome. Definitely recommend going and want to go back!

We did the speakeasy tour which was amazing because I learned a lot about Louisville and local history. Prohibition laws and how that affected local commerce. Also the use of the Ohio river towards commerce and how that is all linked even to Bourbon street in Louisiana. Anyways great time learning and also tasting amazing bourbons. The speakeasy bar was nice and felt authentic and geniune. Loved it and I recommend it, without a doubt a great time.

Had an extraordinary experience thanks to Mrs.Linda . She went above and beyond to share the history and ensure everyone had a good understanding behind the making of Kentucky bourbon. Her charisma and friendliness ultimately made our experience one of a kind. We loved the history and the props included as part of the tour. Would recommend this show and definitely recommend getting Mrs.Linda if you can.

I had an absolutely fantastic time at the Evan Williams Bourbon Experience. Even though we didn't take the tour and opted for drinks at the third-floor bar, the experience was top-notch. Getting in was a breeze, and the drinks were simply outstanding. The "Sweater Weather" old-fashioned was a delightful surprise for my taste buds. I'd give it a solid five stars for a memorable and delicious visit.

We did the speakeasy tasting at Evan Williams and it was probably our favorite tasting of all the distilleries we visited. Greg, aka Jake, was such a great guide. He was role playing being a speakeasy bartender in the 1939’s and never broke character. We really enjoyed listening to the history of bourbon in the late 1800’s up until prohibition. If you’re looking for a different tour/tasting to break up the same story of how a place makes bourbon or how to nose your pour this is it. The tasting consisted of 5 pours. I would recommend booking this tour in advance. There is also no parking at this distillery, but there are plenty of public parking lots within walking distance.

It was the 1st tour of day 2 and early in the AM... oh well. It was great. I think the most informative tour of the 11 we did in our 5 day trip. Our tour guide Andy was amazing.. he had all the details you could possibly ask for, he was training Mark... and I have no doubt that Mark is being trained by one of the best! We bought a lot of goodies from the gift shop here and enjoyed the downtown area a little before and after the tour. Shopped at a local candy store just a few blocks down that was recommended by the folks at Angels Envy. Loved the tasting in George's Bar, capacity 16... yes!

We thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon at the Evan Williams Bourbon Experience! If you are expecting a distillery tour, this is not that. This is an immersive, interactive, educational experience that really treats you - from the history of the founding of Louisville to the history of bourbon making and (incredibly complex) taxation in the United States, and also gives insight into EW as an organization. Our tour guide, Rita, was amazing, engaging, funny, and so knowledgeable! The fact that there was LGBT pride merchandise and representation was so delightful and warming, and as a gay couple, it really made us excited and happy that the organization is so inclusive and loving. We would recommend this experience to anyone interested in bourbon and history! Just exquisite!

4.5 : Garrett our Tour guide was friendly and knowledgeable with good sense of humor. Facility was welcoming. The informational videos were very good. The trastings were stupendous- in a very relaxed and cozy bar atmosphere. The front desk person was efficient and shared as needed. Rating just under a 5– the admission price was a bit high for seniors.

The people here are super friendly and the whiskey is fine, but overall, it was just mid for us. Not my top fave on the trail. Not bad, but not great. Awesome display in the lobby though!

Evan Williams was by far the fanciest of the tours we took. The guide was nice and the tasting in the "unique" location was a real surprise and really brought everything together. I would say that by the outside of the building you could easily walk by and miss this, that would be a huge mistake. This is one of those tours you don't want to miss.

The google hours were wrong and we went with only 12 minutes left in the day so this may not be fair. The google hours said they were open until 7 pm and they close at 5pm. We were able to go to the gift shop and do a little looking around. The people were nice and it probably is good if you have more time and can go on the tour and explore

We signed up for a tour and tasting at this stop along our Bourbon Trail. There was a cool display when you first walk in and I took a video of it. I'll try to post it. 🤞 Yeahhhh, won't let me. 😞. Five floors in this distillery, 3 of which, and the basement, open to the public. Third floor has a bar, second floor is gift shop area, main floor where the tour starts. Extensive and informative tour. Our host, Bob, was knowledgeable and fun. Lots of cool souvenirs in the gift shop.

My husband and I booked reservations at the Evan Williams Speakeasy Experience this weekend (10/28/23). We had a wonderful time! We really enjoyed the story and speakeasy feel, including a bar tender in full character from 1929. You have to enter using a secret password and then go in to a full bar. Once seated, the story begins and you taste 5 different bourbons, each with a different history to them. Very fun! There is a gift shop on the 2nd floor and a bar on the 3rd floor. After our tasting we went to the bar and enjoyed a flight of bourbon.

Really great experience, especially as our first stop on the Bourbon Trail. Very historical and was nice to have all this background information as we went into our weekend. It is very knowledge heavy, and has a "field trip" vibe to it. It took an hour, and it really didn't need to. The tour guide repeated a lot of what the video said almost word for word. Other than that, really enjoyed it. I really wish though, that since this was where my group bought our bourban trail passports, that they would have informed us about how if you ask each distillery, they are supposed to give you a complimentary gift with your stamp. Otherwise, very nice experience!

The Speakeasy experience was awesome. I also like the fact they have bourbon here that you can't get on the shelf at home. I think it's sad that the other distilleries only release something at a random time during the day. Thank you, Evan Williams staff, for being so awesome.

A really enjoyable time. Tour had way more to it than you might think, not mindless talking at you but actual different rooms, fun displays, and a great explanation of the history and brewing process. Definitely worth doing AT LEAST once, and the bourbon tasting they let you do at the end is fire.

Even if you’re not a fan of the brand, this one is worth checking out. The tour was a great experience and one of the most well put together. The tasting was better than expected and you’re given the chance to purchase a bottle of the 12 Year Old 101 Proof Japan Edition. Would highly recommend.

I’ve taken tour after tour in Kentucky, many of them wonderful, but what a refreshing time to take the Evan Williams Experience! This tour did talk about making bourbon, but more so it was an immersive tour of the history of bourbon. It was so neat to focus on how bourbon came to be in the USA rather than just how it is made. I absolutely recommend this tour… followed by a cocktail at their bar on the 3rd floor 😉

The tour was awesome! Staff was super friendly!! Definitely recommend you should call ahead and book a spot for the tour. It was booked for a solid month as of today. We didn't have a reservation and they still treated us great gave us a free bourbon tasting and then as we were about to leave the next tour was starting and a few people didn't show up so they let us in. Over all Great experience 5 Stars all around!

Nice destination with 3 levels and bar/tasting room. Had them make an old fashioned but they apparently do not mash like we do in Wisconsin so the $15 drink is not much to be desired…

The tours were booked when we got there, but you could do samples upstairs and eat in the restaurant if you wanted to and of course purchase bourbon on the first floor when you enter. Super cute distillery but you need to book in advance in order to get the full experience and tour! Enjoy!

Very good and informative tour.( i was enjoying it so much i forgot to take pictures till the end)Four flights of stairs so you can look down on the mash bubbling in the vat. They do have an elevator. Our tour guide knew his stuff. Very good Bourbon. You get to taste 4 of them w hx and stories of each. Very nice gift shop has something for everyone. You can purchase a special Bourbon that you can only buy if you take the tour. (Not cheap) Well worth the time.

Fun tour and experience retracing Evan Williams steps on the wharf hundreds of years prior. We enjoyed our tasting and the opportunity to get a rare bottle too!!!

It could be so much better. The tour itself is moderately okay. If you can get into another one, you probably should. This tour is more about theatrical production value to make you relate to the brand than it is about learning about the product. To start, stop asking people to sip a mixing bourbon and the stop enticing people into a much better 12 year bourbon and then charging almost 100 bucks more than you would in Japan. It is distasteful and opportunistic. My other complaint is I happened to be at this location in the day the Derby bottle was released as well as the day after and missed it on both days. Learn from other distilleries and give the tours an option to buy the limited release if they have given you their time to do your tour. The Derby bottle is a phenomenal product that I both had to pay to try and now will never get a bottle thanks to this disappointing marketing disgrace. Anyway... its a mediocre tour that would benefit from more reality and less theatrics. The products on the other hand stand for themselves. If you want a mixer, they have it. If you want a sipper, they have that too but no matter what, the 12 year shouldn't cost more than you'd pay in Japan.

It was a great way to start the bourbon trail! The tour was very informative about Evan Williams and the history of Louisville. The short videos, hallways to look like the 1920's, and tasting room were all top notch! I would go again. The bartender up on the 3rd floor made excellent drinks and we had a great conversation with.

Cool place to go experience some of Louisville great Bourbon. We were pleasantly happy to find out it was also open on Sundays, which most distilleries are not. The staff was super friendly, and the tastings were well priced and decent Bourbon too.

We had a great time! We did one of the experiences, specifically, the Bartenders Experience. You start by going downstairs and going into their version of a speakeasy where you meet Tom at the bar. Luckily, Tom has a shot of Evan Williams 1783 waiting for you! Tom accounts his tails as a bartender during prohibition and hanging out with the likes of Al Capone and FDR. He makes a very good old fashion, which he shares equally with the group along with two other shots of bourbon. You leave the experience with your complimentary rocks glass, some Knowledge about the prohibition era and Louisville, Kentucky and a whole lot happier!

Great experience, our tour guide was friendly and the exhibits were very well done. The tasting was nice too, pretty good value for the whole tour with the tasting included. It was interesting how history oriented the tour was; almost everything talked about was stuff from around Prohibition and earlier. It would have been interesting to learn a little more about what's been happening with Evan Williams in the recent decades (what small batches they've done and why, how the company has grown, etc.) but the history was very interesting.

Great time!! Good tour that focused on the history of bourbon to start. Then they went into how it’s made and fondly you get to taste the product. This tour had very good flow to it. Loved the master distiller blend bottle they sell in the gift shop. Very tasty 😋

This was a pretty cool place. They have an awesome fountain that looks like a coke pouring into a glass. The tours were all booked so we weren't able to do that. But this was the 3rd stop on our bourbon trail. The gift shop had alot of cool things, but it gets a little cramped when one of the tours let's out. The staff was friendly. We never made it to the bar, but we will definitely stop back on our next trip
