This is a fantastic park. Plenty to see and do and it is well kept. They have 3 nice kids playgrounds as well as a tennis court and basketball courts. There are several gazebos around for a nice picnic area or gathering. Each one also has a grill and many picnic tables. Picnic tables are spread around so there is plenty of spaces to sit around the lake. All in all it was a fun and pleasant family experience and we will definitely come back regularly.

Decent sized lake for kayaking, enjoy going here because it's close to home for a quick paddle. Really enjoyed the new kayak/canoe launch! So glad to have it available for others who need the accessibility so everyone can enjoy kayaking. So much wildlife to enjoy, see people fishing all the time. Only downside is the water quality doesn't seem so good & always seems to be trash along the bankside.

Would be five stars if not for the thoughtless humans trying to trash up the place. That said, the staff does the best that can be expected to keep it nice. More remote areas of the park are magnificent.

I think this is a great place to go fishing. Nice to hike around the lake as well. There are two kids' playgrounds.

Very beautiful place to go to and relax, to be, gaze at water and/ducks, walk your dog, and fish. I didn't realize the lake was that large. We walked to 2 different docks and relaxed with our dog. I like that people are chill and respect that our dog has anxiety. My only complaint is that people should be more mindful of their waste - throw it away properly so you don't harm the animals, the ecosystem, nor water/marine life.

One of my favorite parks to visit despite some of the negatives. Cons -- • No bathrooms anymore. Anyway, they were absolutely horrible when they were open. • People tend to trash much of the park (including the lake) after events and during fishing & choose not to clean up after themselves. Everyone is responsible for the park's cleanliness, not just Louisville Metro. • Sadly, this park attracts a lot of trouble particularly at night/very early morning, and I'd probably never go alone as a young woman. Pros -- • I do see Louisville Metro regularly trying to clean and maintain the park. • The cat colony is fun to visit, and they are protected, cared for, vaccinated, and spayed/neutered by Louisville Metro & Alley Cat Advocates, which means no, they do not spread disease. • The park is genuinely beautiful and big with nice, long trails and diverse bird and plant species. I've picked mulberries here to enjoy 😋 • Two playground sites for kiddos, a little library to browse, basketball and tennis courts, and a Korean War Memorial

This place is known for a lot of crime. Something that's also known around here is "dont get in the water"... its GROSS. Also, I love fishing but I'd NEVER fish or eat anything that comes out of that water. Lots of strays & used to have lots of homeless people living here which I think may have moved on somewhere else. Tons of ducks. There is 1 playground there that's nicer for kids. We took a few family pictures there, so it's not all that bad. But its definitely everyone I knows last resort.

I take my kids hereI love to go to mcneely Lake it's really good place to take a walk and just get away and look at nature. It's like a hidden gym around the city and its a great place to take your kids and go fishing. It's got a couple local parks. I take my kids here all the time definitely great place to go with the family.

We love the playground up the hill past the Korean war memorial. It's never too busy or crazy. We often attempt visits to other parks, see the crowds and make the extra drive to go this one instead. Hidden gem

Beautiful lake with lots to do! Whether taking out the jon boat to fish for the day or having a cookout with the family after playing a game of basketball, this place is one of my favorite spring and summer spots. Very spacious so you never have to worry about finding a good spot.

Beautiful park, cool playground with lots of space and decent mulch. Bonus: sweet kayak spot and available to the public. Awesome hiking walks and friendly people & cute dogs every time I visit.

Wonderful place to hike. We weren't by the picnic areas, but we saw signs of horseback trails. People fishing and boating. Nice place to take a walk and get some exercise 😊!

Nice quiet, & peaceful. A little crowded later in the evening. Got checked by the fish & game warden, but overall, well kept park.

Pretty and the lake is nice, but the bathrooms and such didn't seem super well kept. The walking areas are a little rough- more trails than paths.

They have a nice new kayak loading dock, and a new fishing dock down about halfway thru the park. The boat ramp area is disgusting, people don't pick up after themselves. The water was dirty, needs a good rain. Not much shade on lake sides, I'd go early or in the evening.

The park can use mowing the grass, put more trash cans. It has been month since we had a storm and the trail has the fallen trees. A lot of room for improvement in the city part to keep up the park looking good.

It's getting better. They've added a few playground attractions, and the boat ramp for fishers is nice. Added some Pokestops if you're into that. I still wouldn't want to swim in the lake, but it's nice to look at. A long hiking trail extends around the backside of the lake.

Nice little park with Korean War memorial

I gave it 3stars just because I go there mainly in the A.M and at that time hardly anyone is there..the lake is , well to be gentle it's trash always garbage on the banks and it rarely gets picked up,and what shld be picked up just gets chopped up by lawn crew. And I'm pretty danged sure it's either fished out or not stocked well enough.on a good note sometimes it is so peaceful there.just my opinions, and we all know what they say about opinions, lol

I would really say about 3.5. It could use some work. But a lot of our parks are currently over used and under cared for. Nice lake some decent trails and not too many people if you can get out to walk at lunch.

Love the cat sanctuary. Kids loved the park on the hill. Not alot of room to fish, probably best to bring or rent a kayak.
