What an impressive home! I was not able to tour but impressed just the same. One of many beautiful homes on Mansion Row in New Albany, Indiana.

Without doubt the best Haunted House experience and I have been to many over the years. Hands down just a great tour. Do not let the size of the building throw you off as it was brought together wonderfully. The one theme carried through out created a perfect setting as not the typical each room a new and unrelated story. Those inside the house really were into their roles and made the tour that much more fun. We were nervous as made the two hour trip on Halloween weekend but so worth it. Line was a nominal wait and went quick. Highly recommend you come check this haunt out and we will without doubt be coming back to see the Mansion when open and visit this event again.

Culbertson Mansion is a beautiful piece of New Albany history. I've walked by the mansion many times, but had never gone inside until my husband and I decided to spontaneously go in for a tour one Saturday afternoon. I was instantly impressed by the ornate and decorative paintings on the ceilings and walls. The place is infused with Victorian beauty! My husband even commented and said it was like a mini Biltmore! The people who gave our tour were very knowledgeable and were very invested in the history of the property and those who had once lived there. The tour was fascinating and the guides were able to answer questions anyone had. There has been great care taken in the restoration of the mansion and bringing it back to its original glory. Even though much of the original furniture was sold years ago, much of the furniture within the mansion has been selected to accurately portray what was present in that era. A lot of work has been put into carefully repainting all the murals as well. Tours begin on the hour, so be sure not to show up late like my husband and I did. Our tour guides were very gracious and led us back through the house to cover the areas we missed at the beginning of the tour, but I'm sure it would've been much easier for them had we arrived earlier. Also, you are allowed to walk in the rooms. The areas aren't roped off, but be careful not to disturb or sit on the furniture. I definitely want to take friends and family back to see this local gem!

Such a beautiful Historic Mansion with so many original details that they are still discovering even today. It's worth the time to explore this amazing property and receive a ton of interesting information regarding this gem. Our tour guide, Davis, was super nice and very knowledgeable. It was $16 for an adult ticket. We had no problem parking along the street in front of the property. We toured on a Thursday at 2pm. We walked right in. No waiting.

We enjoyed the short self guided tour at this beautiful property. We used the librarie's cultural passes, so our entry was free. I appreciate that they participate in this program. It took us about 1.5 hours to see the entire house. Worth the visit IMO.

Really lovely self guided tour. There is information posted outside each room, and it is easy to follow along. It was $11 per person when I went, but I thought it was worth it.

We played an awesome family style clue game today. It was awesome. We got to play the game and see the mansion. We will definitely be back!

An amazing home that has successfully dodged the destruction of time and progress. Our tour guide was quiet and informative and had history with the home which helped the narration. The home’s exterior and interior both are truly majestic marvels to behold; definitely worth the meager ticket price and an hour or less commitment! I will say I am not much on the whole “Haunted Old House” thing that seems to be common with these types of places as I feel it cheapens the experience. It would also have been nice to have had more information regarding the Victorian lives of the inhabitants as it would have helped to bring to life what we saw. Also, for some reason through the years all the front foliage has been eradicated (see last picture from 1979). Nevertheless, it is a great place to go to spend time with the New Albany royalty of the day!

This place is huge!! Our guide was very knowledgeable and have us some great background information both on the original residents as well as those that followed. The painting of the walls and ceiling and walls is amazing. The trim and moulding is incredibly detailed. Mr Culbertson was an amazing, forward thinking man!

Beautiful mansion near river in Indiana. All of area has some nice old architecture to look at. Staff very knowledgeable and nice. Admission very reasonable. If it wasnt cold out we could have walked around area and saw nearby sites and downtown. This is right across river from louisville,KY

If you love stepping back in time and learning about history, this is an awesome place to go. Out your guide was not only super knowledgeable, but also personable and easy to talk to. He was patient and no question was stupid. There were great pieces of artwork and the grounds were beautiful, not to mey we were on mansion row, so the whole area was amazing. Plenty of cool restaurants close by as well

Chuck is not only the amazing Christmas decorator, he is a fascinating historian, of all aspects of Indiana. Unbelievably generous with his time. Chuck, you should teach!

Visited the area and Mansion Row and this by far was the most elegant and beautiful mansion. So well preserved with many original items from the original home. Our tour guide Bryce was so very nice and knew the complete detailed history of the home as well as the victorian time period. Learned alot and he made the tour exceptionally interesting. It was like stepping back in time . Totally recommend if visiting the Louisville or New Albany area. The street this home sits on has many more homes which the wealthy also resided. Totally recommend.

Such a beautiful building! I couldn't believe how beautiful it was inside, they did such an amazing job restoring the mansion to its original glory. My mom has some medical issues and the lady giving us our tour was so accommodating for her! When we got to the second floor the women (I didn't get her name 🙁) found a chair for my mom and carried it to every room we went to so that she could rest. If your in New Albany I definitely recommend coming to Culbertson Mansion, you will not be disappointed.

My husband and I visited on a Sunday morning and it was just us and another lovely couple. Our tour guide, simply put, was young and slightly awkward. Some conversation topics such as her personal feelings on religion as well as her repeated use of “costed” and “libary” where off putting and somewhat unprofessional. While she did seem to have some of the basic knowledge about the family and home there were some discrepancies from other posted historical facts and there were several questions asked that she admittedly did not have answers to. The home was very nice. The architecture is interesting and the items on display are beautiful. However, there are more pieces that are period pieces than original to the home. We have toured other homes in other parts of the state through the Indiana State Museum and historic sites and they have been great. I definitely believe the guide makes the tour and unfortunately this one was lacking for us.

Bethany was a fun tour guide who assisted my 6 yr old niece in her innocent questions about history and made it interesting for her. Me too. Loved the artwork, could never have kept the place clean enough for me though… 20,000+ sq feet!

Not super scary, I recommend this one for those that are easily scared, and younger kids. However, it's always been a haunt I love to visit. The actors did a great job!

The house was beautifully amazing and the website was very easy to use. The only down side was our tour guide was very dry and didn't talk much unless we asked questions. We would have loved to hear more stories about the families that lived there, New Albany and of course the items/house it self. Highly recommend if u are in the area.
