It
is
clean
and
scenic
with
a
pond,
section
of
trees
and
a
garden.
But
it's
not
really
a
full
park
and
not
a
true
nature
preserve.
As
a
"park"
it
features
one
large
paved
trail
with
signs
that
say
you
can
only
walk
one
direction
with
no
bikes
or
roller
skates
allowed.
Oh
and
there's
a
playground
in
the
back.
People
are
not
allowed
to
take
advantage
of
the
huge
lawns
covering
the
"park"
to
play
frisbee,
bring
pets,
have
picnics
or
do
any
other
park
like
activities
on.
I
think
of
it
as
"The
Park
of
Rules"
or
1984
when
I
go
there.
As
a
"nature
preserve"
why
do
they
maintain
a
number
of
huge
rolling
lawns?
Lawns
are
one
of
the
most
destructive
features
to
nature
and
biodiversity.
They
conflict
harshly
with
a
natural
ecosystem.
Lawns
interrupt
the
nature
web
by
eliminating
food
and
places
to
hide
for
pollenating
insects
and
small
herbivores.
In
reducing
the
number
of
insects
lawns
reduce
the
amount
of
food
for
birds
and
attract
less
of
them.
In
reducing
birds...
you
can
understand
the
direction
it
goes
from
there.
Lawns
are
like
big
empty
parking
lots
for
nature
offering
not
much.
In
addition
to
being
discouraging
to
wildlife,
think
of
the
gas
and
chemicals
it
takes
to
maintain
lawns
the
size
of
what
Perrin
Park
has.
This
is
a
lot
of
pollution
created
every
summer
and
money
to
pay
employees
to
maintain
the
useless
lawns.
I
can't
help
but
wonder
since
it's
not
really
a
park
or
a
nature
preserve,
if
they
offer
just
enough
public
access
to
get
some
kind
of
tax
break
or
other
incentive
as
a
park
and/or
do
just
enough
to
meet
the
Indiana
DNR
requirements
to
be
a
nature
preserve
to
receive
whatever
benefit
this
offers.
With
all
the
rules
and
places
you
can't
go
and
activities
you're
not
allowed
to
do,
it
offers
a
very
cozy
feeling.
But
a
paved
trail
is
better
than
no
"park"
at
all,
so
drop
what
you're
doing
and
get
to
this
place
of
business
as
soon
as
you
can
to
enjoy
looking
at
but
not
touching
a
lot
of
grass.
PS
once
while
we
were
there
we
had
a
guy
who
worked
at
the
"park"
tell
us
about
new
cameras
they
installed
all
around
the
"park"
for
security
and
then
proceeded
to
pop
out
wherever
we
were
in
the
"park"
on
his
golf
cart
the
entire
time
we
were
there.
It
was
either
a
coincidence
or
he
used
those
very
same
cameras
to
follow
us
all
around
the
"park".
He
even
pulled
up
next
to
us
on
his
golf
cart
as
we
exited
to
ask
how
we
enjoyed
the
"park"
today.
...Much
better
if
we
would
not
have
been
stalked
sir.
Get
it
together
Perrin
"Park".
Become
a
real
park.
