Alrighty, this was our first time visiting here. For the purposes of this review, we only visited the beach area and nearby playground. Cost $9 to get in per vehicle and was a fun little beginner beach for our little ones. Sun, sand and water without the worries of the rip tide, jellyfish or rogue waves. They have a rope that keeps visitors from going too deep and out into the lake as well. It's a good spot for a summer picnic. We went around 10am and there were very few people, but as time went on, it got a little crowded when we left around 1pm. The drive for us was only about 40min, which isn't a bad drive for a fun day at the beach. It should go as no surprise, but it's really hard not to compare to an ocean beach and it definitly loses that battle. The sand was hard to build with and the water was pretty dirty and stagnant. Found a few sharp aluminum can peices in the shallows also. When we arrived, there we only a few yellow jackets which was manageable. However, once noon rolled around they were flying rampant everywhere. One of our little ones ended up getting stung. At the end of the day, if you live close I definitly reccomend visiting. Especially for first time beach goers.

We had an AMAZING weekend camping/fishing at Deam Lake. All park staff were warm and welcoming as were the other visitors. We booked the Heron Horse Cabin and it was great! Important to note the “horse” cabins are literally that. There is a horse campground on site, these cabins are exclusive to those traveling with horses. They were gracious and let us know for next time. The cabin was clean and included a porch swing, rocking chair, fire pit & picnic bench seating. Inside has a queen bed frame (bring your own air mattresses), bunk bed frame, & a loft that included a 2nd bunk bed frame. Sleeps 5. The A/C unit is EXCELLENT! You can’t beat it for the price! Its got the basics and makes it affordable for families. We can’t wait for the next trip! There are water stations, restroom stalls and locker room style showering stations throughout the park. Firewood and ice are sold on site for a good price. There is a beach area with plenty of picnic tables and fire pits. On Saturday families of all kind had tents up, bbq going & enjoying the beach. They have kayak and row boat rentals. The kayaks were really nice. The row boats sucked. I wouldn’t do those again but for $32/day it’ll get you on the water.. Fishing here was great. We caught blue gill, bass, large mouth bass, crappie and channel catfish. We had the best luck & caught the biggest fish early morning. All from the bank. We loved everything about Deam Lake and can’t wait to come back! Excellent state park.

Beautiful little gem in Southern IN. You can go fishing, hiking, camping, kayaking, and boating there. They keep the place well maintained. There cabins there available to rent. Pet friendly, with the exception dogs are not allowed in the lake. Staff are very friendly. You go there just one day or camp there and stay more than one night Prices are reasonable. Playground available for the little ones. Great place to take the family and enjoy nature.

A nice campground, but it could be better managed. Grass needs mowing and trash cleaning in between Campers moving in and out, need a primitive tent camping area separate from RV camping, need to upgrade electric to 50 amp. From 30 amp. The Horse camping area is nice, but most of the sites go mostly unused. They need to open up the lake sites to RV camping, the family camp ground stays full and sometimes you can not reserve a spot there when there are literally numerous spaces in the Horse camp? 2and review park was much better this time, cleaner and the staff very accommodating. Enjoy our 3 day stay!

We booked a place here for Memorial day not even sure where it was. It was a great weekend the camp site was great, paved parking area, large camp site, plenty of room for us and the dogs. Had plenty of facilities both pit and regular bathroom, the shower facility was nice also. Has a nice boat ramp and a beach also, the water was super clear. It was a great weekend and will return here at some point.

The front gate was business as usual. The folks cleaning the grounds at opening were fabulous and busy! Was lovely Monday at the beach. The kids ( 2, 4, 5, 7) made a sand castle, practiced swimming and splashed about.

Clean, relatively quiet, and very picturesque! The bath houses are fine, but they could be cleaner, wear your shower shoes and you’ll be fine! Plenty of picnic tables in the shade for those who want to picnic.

Camped there for the first time in June 2023. Several campground bathrooms were closed which made the bathrooms more crowded than they should be. I will go back but not this year. Maybe the state will learn to do the work on public facilities in the off season.

A+ for bathrooms with soap! Also, it's super nice they have changing and rinse off areas. It was very useful for having little kids. I loved that they had ropes so kids couldn't go very far in the water. It's shallow though to the ropes so that's nice! Lots of tables to use. We didn't even see ALL of the area so we know there is even more cool stuff. Absolutely beautiful! We will be back for sure!

Wonderful campground! We loved the nature setting, views, picnic areas, and trails. The new playground was nice and large and challenging and not as much for younger ages. Loved the nature center! Small, but loaded with so many things for kids to look at, touch, books, and craft table. The bathrooms were the only big disappointment. Although they are older they are not in bad shape, but they do not get normal cleaning in the campground. If they were just cleaned better, they would be fine. This is our new favorite campground that is still convenient to go into Louisville to as well.

Indiana state parks are now enforcing a no structure rule that includes dog gates. Be aware they will make you take it down, so if you have puppies they must be on a 6ft leash at all times now. We won't be back since that does not mesh with our desires. Other than that the park and campground is nice.

First-time visitors. We had a blast. We swam until we were worn out, then rested and lunched at the picnic tables. It's so beautiful all around! And for only $9 for the car load, the price is very reasonable!

Stopped in for one night while traveling through the area. The campsite was nice and open. The bathroom and showers were clean and in good condition.

Love this little lake. Electric motor only. Plenty of nice little fishing spots. Little beach area to cool off on those hot summer days. Also, there is camping available.

Just spent two weeks here at Deams lake Campground. Not a bad place to camp, services nearby, friendly park rangers. The bad. Fire rings not cleaned from previous campers. Verizon reception usually at 1 bar to no service. Sites a big tight for big rigs especially for 5th wheels. On the A loop no grass and steep drop-off at the door when backed in. The good. Good power, quite atmosphere, plenty of shade. Great for dog walking.shower houses clean and in good repair. We had no power upon arriving and maintenance immediately came and changed out the breaker with a smile on his face. Excellent customer service! Grass was mowed twice while we were there.I would return but definitely on a different loop as other loops were more level and had grass and no dropouts. Enjoyed my stay!

Very helpful staff! I had booked a site on line that when we saw it, we realized our motorhome would not fit and it was no where near level. We moved to the horse section and got to see and hear some beautiful horses. Loved it!! We had the place almost to ourselves! My only warning, if you drive a motorhome, there are very few truly level sites. We'd definitely go back, if we got to this part of the country again. About the picture, first time we ever had a hitching post next to our site! ;-)

Typical electric campground. Horse camp. Lots of shady spots. You can get on the Southern end of the Knobstone Trail here as well. No ice.. no campstore. There's a sign saying there's one at the beach but it's a concession stand. Little lake but very pretty especially if your a paddler like me. Mountain biking allowed on the same loop as the horses. Lots of horseback riders here so be aware.

This was a great place to go to have peaceful time outside away from crowds enjoying the sun and sand. That said, the beach and picnic areas aren't as clean as I hoped they would be and the bath house is dated. The shower area didn't appear functional but the bathroom stalls were fine. Playground is in great condition and much appreciated by our group. Overall though we had a good visit, and plan to come back in the future. Quick and easy drive from the Louisville area!

Got 2 cabins for 3 days & nights. We absolutely loved it! Always went to deam lake as a kid to swim. The cabins are so nice and cute! The whole campground is well kept, & the beach/lake area was great. But the restrooms/showers at the lake could use a good cleaning though. Restrooms/showers back at the campground was well kept and clean!! For the cabins you do have to provide your own padding, they provide only bed frames. Twin bunk beds and a queen size bed frame (says full on website but it easily fit our queen size air mattress, a full sized one would have been a bit too small.) We had a great time, we’ll be returning! 10/10 would recommend getting a cabin or even a tent site here. It’s great you’ll love it (I’ve been here once before for a shorter period of time it was just as awesome that time as this one!)
