Stayed here for a concert - so the locations was great. The rooms our outdated and smelled musty and smoke. Visited the rooftop bar. The burger was good but for the life of me why would you charge $35 for a pour of Weller Reserve? Talk about gouging,,, I ordered one not knowing price as its not listed in the menu. This is a 10-12 poor at any high end restaurant or lounge. A bottle is 25 bucks at Kroger... Ridiculous !!!!

I would like to give this place a 5 star, but I can't. Stayed one night for $250. When it should've been $150 from what I experienced. The only reason Hilton did an up charge on their rooms is because there was a concert and a comedy show at nearby venues. Hotels shouldn't charge higher prices just because of other things going on.

First time staying here. Trendy looking. Clean. That was good. But the rooftop was closed. And after sitting at the restaurant for a few good minutes for my free Diamond status breakfast, I was not able to get service because they were too busy. Probably not coming back here but travel to Louisville frequently. Marking this hotel off of my frequent stay list.

First evening, had the worst low grade red meat cooked well done and not medium rare. Due to the meal a friend with me chipped a tooth on the low grade cheap hamburger with bone(s) in it. Won’t be back. Needless to say the food was overpriced as well as the bottled water in the room. Do you remember during COVID, those igloos kept your restaurants going. Now you’re using the igloos as a place to have dinner with a MINIMUM of $250.00 to sit in the “plastic bubble”.!!! Give me a break! It’s greed and the Hilton establishment should be ashamed of the 350 West Chestnut, Louisville, KY location and themselves for letting this happen.

We stayed here with a wedding party and it was convenient and clean. The rooftop Bar is an awesome place to finish off an evening. There was someone in the elevator raising a ruckus over the place and said they were going to give it a bad review. I wouldn’t consider it a 5 star experience but it’s definitely not less than a 4. Staff at front desk was kind and attentive. Housekeeping wasn’t very attentive to our needs but they were busy and we didn’t find any on our floor that spoke English. We didn’t need service in our room but wanted clean towels. We had to go to the desk to get them. That was just a minor inconvenience and not a big deal. Would definitely stay there again and recommend to others.

The women who checked us in was very friendly. And gave us places to visit and eat. The room was to be desired. Our 1st room was missing a picture on the wall. It was noticeable. Then when we tried to use cable the TV was disconnected like someone tried to steal it. Parking is not free but they do have system to pay less. They do not have a cart for bags. We had to carry them from parking around building to from because you can only enter from street. Our bed was not soft. But for one night it was ok. They do have late check out. We didn't get to see the bar up top. But it seemed the people going up liked it. The only big issue is my pet free. Its 50 but my account was charged 70 so I disputed the 20 once it cleared.

The location is a little dangerous but the hotel and food is great, Once again they did act rude at front desk. ALSO they threw away my 60 dollar conditioner, my 100 dollar laptop charger, and 180 dollar face emulsion creme. They refused to replace it or provide me bonus pointgs as compensation EVEN though i am hilton honors diamond status. I recommend 8up but not the hotel as a place to stay!

We attended Thunder Over Louisville this weekend and the Garden Inn was an excellent location, being an easy 1+ mile walk to Waterfront Park. I was looking forward to our two night stay at this Hilton property having only ever been at a Hampton Inn, but apparently set my expectations too high. My sister stays at Hampton Inns, while Best Western is my thing. If this were in fact a Hampton Inn, I would have likely given 4 stars. I anticipated the Garden Inn to be a notch above Hampton Inn and Best Western, but was disappointed to find it no different than an ordinary motel. The big thing lacking off the bat is breakfast. Say what you will about the continental breakfasts at a motel, I appreciate being able to get coffee with real cream or milk whenever I like as well as at least a bagel, some yogurt and a piece of fruit to start my morning. There is a Keurig coffeemaker in the room, but we found just 3 coffee K-cups and 6 Coffee Mate (blech!) creamers. When leaving for the day, we asked at the front desk for 4 coffees and 8 Coffee Mates to be placed in our room for the next morning. We were assured it would be done, but such was not the case. Even when going back down to get some for the next morning we were given just 3 coffees, but plenty of the 'creamer.' This may sound minor, but I found it to be quite annoying as it was such a simple thing that could have/should have been avoided. The refrigerator was barely cool with no ability to turn it down as far as I could see. Next, I was not impressed with the lampshade in our room with at least two holes in it. Very tacky and unprofessional. The view from the rooms is virtually nonexistent, but I guess that comes with staying in a large city (something I personally avoid). The television's menu was not populated with any information as to what was on. Next to each channel listing for each time slot was something like "information not available." Heck, even Motel 6 gets that right, I imagine. Lastly, while checking out, a printout of the bill was requested. We waited and waited while the girls at the front desk chatted with each other, but finally left when my sister saw it had been emailed to her instead. Overall, the front desk was 1 for 3. Jonathan was very pleasant and excellent at checking us in as well as answering our questions later that first day. He was a delight. The rest of our experience with the front desk was meh. Valet experience was pleasant. I cringed at having to pay for parking, but that's just me. I've looked and looked at their website and don't find anything about parking. Maybe one is supposed to assume paying for parking is expected, but I think it should be mentioned ahead of time. I don't generally stay in motels in a big city, but realize it's a common thing. I read other reviews where there were complaints about the elevators being out of order. There was high praise for staff going above and beyond by taking folks over to the service elevator, which made me giggle a bit. That's the least they can do. We didn't have that issue the first day, but when returning after Thunder Over Louisville, lo and behold, one of the elevators was out of order and there was quite a line waiting. When some of those waiting were led over to wherever the service elevator was I was highly amused. I guess that's a common thing. Maybe the Garden Inn Downtown needs to set up a Go Fund Me account to address these issues?

Sean was incredible! Customer service is in the name when it comes to Sean. The rooms were clean, the parking felt safe in the garage, the upstairs floor 8 had a nice restaurant. Would highly recommend and can't wait to come back. The rooms get almost dead silent so if you like that, it's perfect for you. I had to turn on the fan because I don't like silent but it was very nice.

One elevator was working when we arrived. By the end of day 2 both elevators were out of service. We had to walk through the parking garage to a service elevator to reach upper floors. Your employee manning the service elevator was a true credit to the service industry. He was extremely gracious and accommodating. He apologized every time we needed to use the elevator. This was the worst experience we have had at a Hilton property. Please do a better job of getting ahead of these issues. Not everyone can use the stairs as a backup plan, and no one appreciates standing outside in freezing temperatures waiting for an elevator. The breakfast staff was outstanding. I appreciate the response. Changed my rating. Thank you

Our room was very clean and comfortable. We had a suite for 2 people. It was a great size and it was nice to have the living area and separate bedroom area. Bathroom wasn't very large but manageable. This was our second stay here and we would absolutely return.

We won’t be back! Room was disgusting! See pics. Torn blind, filth on window seals, dusty and old furniture. Requested a room change and the sewer leaking throw bathroom drain was putrid! Commode would not flush and hallways full of marujuana smell STRONG. This is not a 5🌟 hotel but more of 1-🌟 PS they do not have their own parking and you have to park in a city lot and you are charged $26 a day. They don’t even comp the parking for you!!!! Ridiculous! beware! go somewhere else!

Great location for events at Louisville Palace. Well lit parking garage and valet service available. Parking garage easily accessible with QR code sent by text after check in. Breakfast was delicious but not complimentary.

This hotel is in a great location. Excellent staff. The rooms are clean, although dated. Definitely time for an upgrade. Valet service was exceptional. Brandon M. and Mandy were awesome! They both provided exceptional service to include assisting with dinner recommendations, directions, etc. It is worth paying for the valet parking. You get so much more than vehicle retrieval.

The room and lobby were beautiful. Brandon at the front desk was so helpful and kind- had answers for all of our questions. Our experience of the restaurant/bar upstairs was phenomenal- the food was awesome and the outdoor terrace was just beautiful. Our server Maddie did everything she could to make us welcome and comfortable. We took advantage of the valet where Malik and David accommodated our requests with smiles on their faces and pleasant conversations. This hotel is a must stay!!!

Rooms are fine for a 1-2 night stay. Lobby is simple and clean. Lobby staff were pleasant and helpful. Beds were comfy. The breakfast restaurant is nice, but the breakfast food is just okay. No problems during our quick, over night stay. $22.00 for covered parking spot/lot.

Disclaimer: I didn't stay there so my review is for their amazing staff member only. Their shuttle driver (who wouldn't give his name but wears glasses and is balding) wonderfully offered to drive myself and 2 others from the airport to our Hilton hotel after our shuttle driver didn't show. He really went above and beyond so kudos for the great hire!

The front desk lady was way too rude. No greetings, no sorry for her mistakes, or no thank you for her guests. She seemed to hate her jobs. The hotel itself was fine; it is very unfortunate the front desk person destroyed all the impressions of this hotel.

The leadership at this hotel have gone above and beyond to accommodate our needs with parking assistance and in-room maintenance issues. We understand things happen and they have exceeded our expectations in making sure our stay has been a pleasant one. Highly recommend staying here.

I have been traveling for work for quite some time and encountered a first today. I left home early this morning, drove four hours to Louisville, worked all day and arrived to my hotel tired with more work to do. I chatted with the front desk receptionist on our respective days, where we were from, small talk and thanked her for helping me. I was in my room working on my laptop and heard a knock on the door. I opened to a staff member passing me a lunch bag advising this is a gift from the front desk for what appeared to be a long stressful day. the lunch bag had some small treats, beverages, a breakfast voucher and a handwritten note as a pick me up. It meant a lot after a long stressful day and I think it's a good reminder to be conscious of others you encounter and work to brighten someone's day who you feel may need it. Thank you to Ella at the Hilton Garden Inn Downtown Louisville for your professionalism and service during my stay.

I can't complain. The hotel is located downtown so you can literally walk outside and find somewhere to dine, shop or just go for a stroll. So many options. There is an indoor restaurant at the top level so if staying indoors is your thing then you can find a reason to dress up. The rooms are super clean and spacious but you do not get great window views. I've tried this location twice with my family in a suite and then again in a king size room with my husband. The process is quick when needing to get to your room. Staff is not extremely friendly but very professional. The lobby is not super busy and the halls are quiet. Parking is available in the garage but you need to let the front desk know so you won't be charged for parking. You do need to have $25 to be placed on hold by card but it is super reasonable fit the location/hotel compared to other hotels.

Nice downtown located within walking distance of several restaurants. (Busy weekend) Service was was good as well as the upper level restaurant and bar. Rooms were clean and maintained well. The only complaint was getting a bruise from the king bed wooden frame. Didn't appear that the mattress was large enough to cover the frame. The corners stuck out, be careful ! Overall it was a good stay.

I won't be back. The parking situation is horrible if you have more luggage than a pull bag. Its a parking garage and there is no way to lump your belongings into the building. The setup is supposed to allow you to temporarily park your car near the door, grab a cart, take your luggage up, return the cart and park your car in the garage. Except no temp parking spaces were available and no carts were anywhere around. I parked anyway where I was not allowed to and I waited 10 minutes for a cart to show up. Nothing. The obviously heavily sedated desk clerk was no help. OK, now I decide to valet park. No valet to be found. 10 minutes later he shows up. Still no luggage cart anywhere. It took me 3 trips to hand carry my stuff to my room. When I say the desk clerk was sedated, he was devoid of empathy and had a 1000 yard stare. Me and another guest talked about him. His words, "he's useless."

Reserved a room with two queen beds, but the room I was given only had one bed. There was a pullout couch so that was whatever. Parking was a huge pain. It was expensive, and both times I tried to leave the parking garage, my pass wouldn't work and I had to call to get it fixed. I was also charged me a ton for "incidentals," on top of everything else, whatever that means because we weren't loud and we didn't break anything. Hilton properties are usually really nice, but I don't think I'll ever stay at one again if there's other options.

Only have great things to say about my experience from the staff to our rooms! We had such a wonderful time. The hotel is so beautiful. Loved our stay- cation.

Great location and a very clean and beautiful facility! Every interaction with staff was positive and friendly. The 8up Rooftop Restaurant and Lounge is definitely a happening place. I had the Margherita Pizza and it was very good! When I'm in Louisville for work trips, this will be my choice.

Great location, close to restaurants downtown. The hotel rooms were nice and clean. There's a roof top bar and restaurant to enjoy the city lights. Breakfast bar is good but it's not included, must pay extra.

A nice hotel in all. Clean. The rooms are small but they are clean and have no weird hotel smells that some have. I didn't interact with the staff too much but they were smiley when we walked in and always seemed to hold positive vibes. There is a decent roof top restaurant as well. They have dessert options that are gluten free! The chocolate mousse bomb was divine. My kids has their chicken sliders and the chicken was crispy and very good. They were big for sliders and perfect for a meal. The restaurant was busy and the servers were on it. If you encounter a strange hostess don't let it deter you, the rest of the experience is đź‘Ť.

Working for a large airline, I spend a log of time in hotels. The service here is TERRIBLE. The phone rings & rings for the both the front desk & restaurant. Nobody would take an order over the phone for the restaurant. I’m letting my employer know.

My wife booked a room here and received email confirmation that the room was booked. When she showed up to check in (after 10PM in the evening), the front desk informed her that the hotel was overbooked and she would not be able to stay there for the night. Her name was listed in the guest registry (she saw it), and she had already paid for the room. Rather than offering a refund of any kind or a free stay at a nearby partner hotel, the front desk's solution was to take a handwritten note in ballpoint pen, drive to Indiana and spend $100 to stay at another hotel, even though she had already paid in full for a room at this hotel. She had to spend nearly $300 for a last-minute room in order to stay in a comparable hotel in Downtown Louisville. The front desk clerk, Chad, was extremely unhelpful with the situation and was dismissive of the fact that stranding two young women in Downtown Louisville at 10:30 PM is not appropriate in any circumstances, but especially the above

Even though I was upset about some elevator problems I do not think it was something that happens there all the time. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful at all times! I do think they could have a few more available items on their food menu dinner and better coffee in the lobby that you have to pay for. But the Hotel was clean in all aspects! I still would stay there again! Coach Smitty

Couldn't check in until 4:30 which was a bit frustrating. When I called they said housekeeping was running behind. Didn't get the room I requested when I checked in online. Room was decent. I'm a big fan of the Hilton Garden Inn brand.

  • 2/5 Gary S. 2 years ago on Google
Do not recommend. Pillows are pointless as they fall between the mattress and headboard and offer no support. Watch out for the parking scam. They add $20 onto your room rate for parking regardless of whether you pay at the garage or not. Neighbors hammering at 7 am. on a Sunday morning. Restaurant closes at midnight. Area around the hotel is dark so you won't be walking anywhere after sunset. Room was small for the price.
