This was my second stay at the Hyatt. My first experience was great. My recent experience was not so great. I don't want to bury the lead so a few key words up front- Cleanliness and Bed Bugs. I was grateful for getting an early check-in. However, when I went to my room I was disappointed by the site of the carpet, the TV shelf was down and I couldn't get it to stay up (It needs a key to lock in place), and there was hair on the shower floor. I also found that the shelf hiding the coffee maker completely fell off the next morning when I went to make coffee. I did report these things to the front desk and housekeeping, and they did clean up the room. But I really wish I would have gone ahead and asked to be moved. On my second day, my wrist started itching badly, and by the end of the day, it was swollen. By the next day, my hand, forearm, past my elbow were completely swollen. Bug bites started to show up. Just before going to bed on my third night at the hotel, I found a bed bug above the bed and took it to the front desk to report the incident. The evening staff was wonderful and immediately moved me to another room and took the clothing I needed for the remainder of my trip to be dried in their high-heat dryer to kill any possibility of moving them to a new room (thanks Terry). We left our remaining items in the room until morning. The morning team wasn't as helpful. They had no real plan to help. They said Eco couldn't come till Monday. I finally asked if they would provide trash bags and if they would dry all of our clothing in their dryer so I could pack it up to take home. I know it was not their fault, but a better plan should have been in place. I do appreciate the nighttime staff and their willingness to compensate us for our room charges. Unfortunately, out of precaution, I did have to discard a few bags/purse to prevent bed bugs in my car and home.

Stayed 3 nights here and, overall, it wasn’t bad. I used the hotel’s valet parking, and something was stolen from my vehicle. So either valet didn’t lock the vehicle, or one of them is the thief. Front desk staff were friendly. They told me during check in that housekeeping would be upon request only, which wasn’t a big deal. The room was nice, but there were a lot of stains on the floor and bedding. There was a refrigerator in the room, a large TV, couch, chair, table, nice bathroom and shower, and a great AC system that kept me cool during the 100°+ heatwave that was moving through the area. If I were to return to Louisville I’d probably stay here again, but I will not be using their valet service. **UPDATE** Just found out they charged me for an extra night. So if you check out early, don’t use the express check out as apparently they don’t check the key drop box regularly.

Clean rooms and courteous valet and front desk staff. Kids running hallways making noise. Someone should have shut that down immediately. Went on for 45 min. Bar staff was not that friendly. Served $17 drink in warm glass. I don't think the bartenders knew what they were doing. One acted annoyed she had a customer. However, bar hostess was very nice

Stayed here for a 3 day meeting that took place in their on site meeting rooms. The rooms were modern and appropriately sized. Definitely not over sized but not small either. Place was well kept and the staff was very professional and welcoming. Especially the staff that was helping us with our meeting food and drink. There is an on-site bar and restaurant called Sway and the food looked good however I did not dine there other than the drinks at the bar. I’m not sure if it’s a regular thing or not but none of the beer taps were functional. They would only serve bottled and canned beer. Craft selection was minimal. Bar was otherwise well stocked with the usual culprits, but a few extra bourbons due to the location. One of the best perks was its location. Located right across the street from 4th Street Live there is plenty of entertainment options. Food drinks and games await. I did not take advantage of the pool or fitness centers, however they are on site and accessible on lobby level. Overall I can’t complain about anything here other than a weak beer selection at the bar. This will likely be my first choice of hotel if I come back for work.

Overall the lobby is nice and the front desk staff were great; however, the room was poorly arranged and dirty. There wasn’t really a desk to work on. I had to move furniture around the place a chair by a table to use it as a desk. And the table was filthy—dust and grime on the edges. The carpet was stained in various places. The lamp was dusty. And the bathroom reminded me of the $50 motels I used to rent when I was young and poor. The grout was moldy. I showered with my flip flops on. I never expected a Hyatt hotel downtown to be so dirty and unkept. I guess I need to stick to Marriott because judging from the reviews, the filthy rooms has been a theme of this hotel for months and they have fine nothing to improve it.

I've stayed at this hotel twice. The location is nice because it is in downtown, however, that also opens up to some people in unfortunate life circumstances hanging around outside the building. I didn't always feel safe wandering outside the building. However, it was a nice walk to go to a lot of sites. We were there for a conference and everything was very nice. I give top notch ratings to a security guard named Terry and a valet named Curtis. They were both there the night that I arrived very late. They were so welcoming and made sure that I got settled well.

Wasn't all that impressed. First, I was met with a check-in delay that resulted in every place closing in the area for food. The room wasn't exactly spacious enough for 2 adults and 2 kids. The bathroom was a bit small for my liking as well. However, the staff were very kind and respectful and the rest of the hotel was very well kept. Our favorite part was the pool, though. Hands down the best pool experience my family and I have had at a hotel.

Wow what awesome people that work here. Trevor fixes the best lemon drops at the bar and Michelle was definitely the friendliest host! Then there is Terry, what an awesome and incredible person. His personality and hospitality is beyond amazing. He treats every guest with love and respect. He deserves to be much more than just security at the hotel! I will definitely stay here when we return. I will also recommend this hotel to all of my friends.

Very big and spacious hotel, which is exactly what can be said about the rooms as well! Very clean, very spacious and comfortable. Great for in-room workout routines or anything else that might require space. The staff is very friendly and accommodating, the connected Starbucks is trash, but I’ve got a separate review explaining why you shouldn’t get your coffee there. Other than that, the beds are comfortable, the bathroom is medium sized. The shower is ok. With the standard that this hotel set in all other categories I would’ve expected a bit more. But ultimately it’s still a good shower!

We enjoyed our stay. Not a busy night so we got upgraded to executive suite due to being Globalist. Front desk ladies were very friendly and made us feel welcomed. Gave my kids rubber duckies that made their day! We like the rooms. The only thing would just be the noise at night. However we probably had the best night of sleep we had at a hotel. Breakfast was very good as well.

Hotel wasn't bad at all and very convenient to the convention center across the street. Service was great and friendly, the facility was nice, but it failed in a couple of key areas. Primarily it was the bed/bedding. It was adequate but the comforter only seemed to cover half the bed and everything was very lightweight. Air conditioner and ambient noise were a bit too loud with random noises occurring all the time. Bathroom was a bit cramped too but I ended up with a corner room so it may have been the layout. They are still in covid mode and only clean the room every 4 days which is disappointing for a higher end hotel. The room also isn't set up well for business travel with no real desk space. I had to work off a couch and table and run my power cord from the wall. Service was good and they have an attached parking garage with Valet. The hotel restaurant was uninspiring and generously 2 stars for breakfast. You're probably better off getting a sandwich at the Starbucks. Overall I prioritize my rest over anything else at a hotel so I'm not sure I'd stay here again.

I have no idea how the reviews of this hotel are so favorable. It is the single loudest hotel I’ve stayed in as an adult. The facilities are nice, but the rooms face an open reception which creates echo. Unfortunately, they didn’t plan any sort of soundproofing. Even folks walking through the halls talking quietly can be heard like they’re standing next to you. Great hotel if you’re hear to party; skip it if you’re here to sleep.

High quality hotel. Got a good service and many facilities off site. Good gym, perfect location. However it seemed that house keeping is not doing their job quite well. Table in our room was gross so as carpet had lots of stains what a bit ruined comfortable stay.

Hotel is fine, but not as nice as the other Hyatt properties I’ve been to. The building is dated and the rooms are aging. There were stains on the rugs and the rooms are a bit small. Everything was fairly clean. There was something off with the elevators so those were slow, but they had a sign posted about it. The walkway between the garage and the hotel was like a sauna, not sure why it isn’t climate controlled. We walked into the Marriott next door to avoid the rain and it was a lot nicer so if you are debating between the two I would go with that property. I stayed on points but would have been more disappointed had I paid out of pocket.

I was excited about the hotel until I walked in the room to find an unmarked pill on the floor behind the coach that my 2 year old was near ,after further research turns our it was either a anti anxiety medicine our antibiotic, either way there is no reason house keeping shouldn't have seen it I'm just glad I grabbed it before my toddler... to make matters worse I went to the front desk informed them as well as gave them the pill and instead of a apology or asking what they could do to make it up to my family they just said thanks for letting us know and that's it. Totally disappointed in the lack of concern for loose medication in a hotel room that was supposed to be cleaned I'll be contacting the manager in the morning

First time guest with Hyatt... I live close to four hours from there. Everything was absolutely amazing! The hotel was CLEAN, very nice, the staff was amazing and greeted me with each passing. The location couldn't have been more perfect for us! We was in town for the weekend to celebrate my birthday at 4th street. Only down fall was when we called the front desk to ask for extra towel's and wash cloth's. We never did get those.. I will most def be a returning guest! I also love the safety for the rooms. No one can use the elevator unless you have a room key to scan! Thanks Hyatt for an awesome experience and great place to stay for my 35th B-Day!

Hotel it self was beautiful and clean! Staff was also extremely nice! BUT restaurant and bar were barely open! So if looking for food or drink not going to be a good option!!! Even Starbucks that is in hotel was not prepared for amount of people there during our stay! Also check in was 3pm and room wasn’t ready till 4pm. We were a day late arriving due to snow so was confused with why they were not ready for us. Convention was booked 6 months out for this hotel! So again confused that the entire area were not prepared for visitors of our size.

This hotel is amazing. Not just a beautiful lobby but the front desk staff were helpful, rooms are clean & nice, the servers for our conference were so polite, respectful and personable. They were truly a delight. It's close to 4th St Live so that was nice. Restaurants, coffee and fudge just steps away. I enjoyed stay very much.

Hotel has a great location downtown. But we were very disappointed with the service. Check in time was 3pm and we didn’t get our room until 7pm! Room still had trash in it from previous guests and carpet was badly stained. Front desk didn’t seem to care when we told them. Breakfast is way overpriced for what you get. Rooms do have a big tv and comfy beds also great showers.

Hotel looks great, and is both clean and in a good location- staff also very friendly. However, due to the design, we could hear EVERYTHING in our room (and we were high up). All noise from reception area echoes up freely; this would be the only reason we would look elsewhere if we returned to Louisville.

Huge hotel right downtown next to 4th street live. Staff was nice and outgoing. Shocked that there isn't complimentary coffee in the morning. Breakfast isn't complimentary either and didn't look appealing or very cheap . Rooms were nice and clean. Odd layout to our room and definitely a smaller room . Great location would stay here again

Our first room was absolutely disgusting! I have the video of everything! From what looked like blood splatter on headboards to the water left sitting in the bathtub. We got upgraded and that room was way better but I still had to clean a few areas with wipes I brought. Breakfast was disgusting! I'll never stay there again. Please stay elsewhere!

Check in was good. Asked for morning room service and received no room service during our four day stay. Made a complaint at the desk and still no service. Had to go and ask for clean towels, tissue, cups. Restaurant food was good but very short staffed. Waitress was great but the bartender has a terrible attitude. Waitress didn’t even want to deal with him said we may have better luck than her.

Wonderful! Positive and friendly staff. The hotel was very accommodating to our corporate 2-day meeting. Day one, catered lunch was amazing. Our company liaison forgot to schedule a coffee/beverage service reservation for our second day. The hotel put something together on the fly. Very impressed!! The bartender was very personable and remembered you by name. There were quite a lot of sketchy panhandlers out front of the hotel.

First time staying here, but I will be back! The staff is so welcoming and nice! The place smells great, and is right up to par with the Holiday decor! (Sorry about the horrible photo quality!)

We had a wonderful stay at the Hyatt in Louisville. We enjoyed the food at the Sway restaurant as well. This is also conveniently located for walking to restaurants, museums, and other activities in town. Our only criticism is that when we pulled up to the valet parking, the attendant just stood behind the desk. They didn't greet us at our vehicle, and we had to go find a cart for our luggage from inside the hotel. Overall, we had a great experience.

This is my second time staying at the Hyatt Regency in Louisville. The first time was so great I chose to re book for this trip. Unfortunately I had the complete opposite experience of the first trip. When I booked, I paid for the hotel in full. I got a confirmation email prior to check in stating the credit card deposit was $50 per night. Upon check in, they said I owed $297 and some change. I asked what that was for and they stated the deposit. I showed them my email stating at check in I had to provide a credit card for the $50 per night damage deposit. He shrugged his shoulders and said “oh okay”. He then proceeded to give me my keys and tell me I was good to go. Upon getting to my room, I noticed I did not have a rollaway cot that I added on my reservation, nor was I in a high floor city view room I booked. I was on the 3rd floor with a view of a wall. I then check my bank account and noticed I was charged the $297 and some change on my DEBIT card which was used when booking. I went down to the front desk and asked about this because I was just told “oh okay” after I showed them my email. A lady then tells me “that’s how it is” and “it’s for damages”. I told them it said a CREDIT card deposit was due for $100 total ( 2 nights ). They had charged my debit. They told me I would “get most of it back” when I checked out. When I went to check out I let them know the situation and asked when I’d be receiving my almost $300 back and she said “why were you charged that much?” And i replied “great question”. It didn’t make sense for a damage deposit to be almost $300 for a two night stay. Almost near the entire booking amount itself. It’s been a day since check out and I still have not received my refund. The Starbucks in the hotel was also closed both mornings of our trip and the hotel bar was only open one night out of the two. There was not a hair dryer in the room even though that was something listed under the amenities of the room. I unfortunately will not be staying at this hotel again due to my experience, which is a shame because my first experience was fine.

We had our wedding ceremony and reception at the Hyatt Regency Louisville two weeks ago. Beginning with the planning process with our Event Coordinator, Diane King and continuing throughout until the day of with the Catering Manager, Cynthia and the Chef everyone was so easy to work with. All details were handled professionally and they along with all of the Hyatt staff made sure that we and our guests enjoyed every aspect of our special day!

The location is great. The hotel itself looks cool when you walk in. The hotel room…. Thought we were checking into a four star hotel…. Bathroom has mold, clearly hasn’t been deep cleaned. The floors were DISGUSTING. Stains ALL over. Rooms are cramped. Unfortunately, I will not be staying here again.

This would certainly be a 5 star hotel but was lacking comfort in regards to the a/c. The room always felt to warm. We set the thermostat down but it never really cooled the room. We were on the 12th floor. Also fridge is not really a fridge....Seemed to be more of a cooler. Would have loved an option to have microwave in the room. All other aspects were AMAZING from staff to restaurant to location. Very clean, friendly, easy. Absolutely loved how helpful housekeeping was. You could ask them for anything.

  • 5/5 Isabelle S. 10 months ago on Google
Excellent customer service from the front desk staff. The rooms looked recently renovated but there were signs of wear (A/C units are quite loud as well). The top floor panoramic space (Spire) is really neat!

Our check in could have been smoother. They claim they didn't see our reservation because we were booked through a third party and it was in the back system but not the front system so we had to wait 30 to 45 minutes to check in and then a manager had to complete our reservation thank God we had a confirmation number from the third party we book through. But overall our state was good the hotel was nice and clean the staff was friendly. It's a beautiful place.

I really enjoyed the stay, especially the staff who were exemplary. The hotel is an old-fashioned Hyatt design but has charm and the location right in the centre of town is fantastic. However the staff made my stay, with Layah and Ja’Mel making the experience a delight. Fully recommend staying here.

We were in town for National Junior Beta convention. When I got to the check in desk I realized that I had booked for the day before and my reservation had been lost, I wanted to cry and it was my fault. It was a busy weekend, but Trae and Jamel were so kind and understanding. They helped me not have a complete sobfest. They got us fixed up right away and we’re so kind and helpful. One thing to know is that they are not doing daily housekeeping, but they picked up trash that we set out and if we needed towels, coffee and toilet paper they were incredibly quick to bring it up to the room. The hotel is older and the elevators are slow, but the room was clean and the service was top notch.

I'll be honest, this place has exceeded my expectations! I really don't know where the bad reviews are coming from, but it seems like a few overly picky people so take them with a grain of salt. (also, note they are not local guides...) So on to my review, the hotel is large and accommodating, check-in was easy and quick, my room was very clean and comfortable, housekeeping made lots of nice touches, I did not notice any issues with noise, and I was VERY impressed with the large and well equipped gym. If I could find one complaint it would be that the gym temperature was too hot, gotta keep it cool for when people workout. Otherwise I fully recommend this Hotel to anyone considering staying here!

During my check in process, Detrah was very helpful and answered all of my questions. I felt very welcomed and almost at home during my 7 day stay. She let me know that housekeeping was by request and gave me a number to call if I needed anything. Upon arriving at the hotel the second day I stopped by the front desk because I remembered that I would need extra towels for my stay. After working a long day I wanted to shower and go grab dinner, she went above and beyond to go to the laundry room herself so I wouldn’t have to wait on housekeeping to continue my day. Hyatt is blessed to have such a kind and hospitable representative caring for their guests. 10/10 experience because of her ❤️

Great rooms, clean, spacious, well laid out. Great location with plenty of places to eat and hang out within minutes walking distance. "Sway" is the in house restaurant, it's the only downside. It really is just not a great place to eat considering the other options around the hotel. 14$ omelettes and 8$ yogurts aren't where it's at...

Everyone here is so friendly and helpful! Layah was very pleasant and helpful at check in and also helpful in changing my reservations. The bartenders made the bar one of the funnest I have ever been too! Bob made a killer Old Fashioned, Chris (from Minnesota) was incredibly savvy about places to go, bourbon, well just about everything. Nate was awesome too! I would highly recommend staying here and I will be back! Clean, quiet, perfectly located!

I came here after a pipe burst in my condo on Xmas eve. I probably wasn’t exhibiting my best attitude, but Casey at the front desk was the absolute best. She made sure that I had everything I needed and even knew of the near by places places that were still open for dinner (I was so stressed and starving)! I couldn’t help but find myself in a better mood thanks to her kindness, hospitality and professionalism. I will literally refer everyone I know to stay at her hotel.

I love they have an option for parking either self-pay in the garage or valet, an excellent restaurant and Starbucks in the hotel and an exceptional fitness Center. The location is phenomenal; right on 4th Street. And the view of the cityscape at night is absolutely breathtaking. Would definitely stay here again.

I’ve stayed at this location a few times and always get 2rooms that conjoin and even tho I don’t make it until after midnight they have always been able to accommodate me with what I requested. From the location to the staff this place is amazing. The restaurant is also really good during breakfast. If you’re staying downtown Louisville for any reason this is the hotel you wanna be at. It’s across street from the new derby city gaming on 4th street. Keep up the good work
