This is a nice Courtyard by Marriott. I like to stay here when I’m in Louisville on business. Great location and I like the proximity to restaurants and bars. Parking is a little tricky the first time you do it. You need to drive into the parking garage and park your vehicle in the unload area and check In to get your key. You can unload your luggage and put it in the room, but you’ll need to head back downstairs and park your vehicle in the parking garage. The room key allows you access in and out of the parking garage.

Let me just say that I didn’t even stay here. I had a reservation booked for another hotel down the street. Got into the city at 11:30pm expecting to check in to the hotel around then. Check in was until 12 midnight, but doors were locked at 11:30pm. Called the hotel numbers- no answer. I found myself in a jam, so I called Courtyard Marriott. Explained my situation briefly and was told rooms were available, so I headed over. The front desk employee at Courtyard, Arnold, was the best hotel employee I’ve ever come across. Not only did he not pressure me to get a room, he figured out my situation for me. Arnold called a different hotel next to the one I had a reservation for. Come to find out that the two hotels MERGED and there is only ONE front desk open past 11pm. Explains why I couldn’t check in. Never thought I’d write a review for a hotel I didn’t stay in. But Arnold went above and beyond here. He treated me with upmost kindness and respect, and was determined to help me with my situation. Obviously Courtyard is doing something right with their staff. Wish I could have stayed here instead.

They are 2 for 2 with me. Easy and convenient. The (almost) Main St. location can be a little noisy early in the evening, but things seem to get calmer and quieter. Parking is not bad. Plenty to eat, drink, and see within reasonable walking distance (including the yum center). The only quirk in terms of directions is that it's much much easier to get in if you're traveling south on 2nd and GPS doesn't always swing you around that direction (hint hint googlemaps). Lots of one-way streets downtown, but you can always circle around.

Let me start by saying that the staff are great! It's nice and clean. The bistro was comfortable and was great to hang out in. The room was clean and comfortable. The street noise is over the top. If I had known it would be that loud I never would have stayed there. Having said that it is probably only the rooms facing a certain way. But if you need to sleep find a room that's quiet. I suspect that the facility knows all of this....there were ear plugs in my room as a pre-emptive message. As a long tome Marriott Customer I would've hoped that they would have put me (or anyone else) in a room where you could sleep. Not sure of the solution but I couldn't sleep for two nights. At $200+ U.S. a night that is all I was there for. Very disappointed in the facility...but the people are great.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL! I payed extra for a King Balcony room, upon checking in I received a standard room. Thinking it was an easy fix- I called the front desk. They informed me that there were no more Balcony rooms available and that I would have to 'deal with it, or leave'. They blamed it on Hotels.com, and when I called Hotels.com they blamed it on the hotel...the management eventually agreed to give me free parking for the next morning. THEY CHARGED ME TWICE! for parking. Ive never had an issue with Marriott or Hotels.com. This hotel makes both of them look like garbage.

One star for customer service. 5 stars for the location. Andrew, the "General Manager" was extremely rude and had no interest in being of any help. He wouldn't allow us to use family discount though we had the correct paperwork for it. Also, we wanted to upgrade the room, he told us there weren't any available. I went to the website and low and behold there were several rooms available! He made the check-in process insane. Do better "General Manager".

The SMELL. The overwhelming smell of cheap Febreze, Fabuloso, or pet carpet cleaner (I’m not sure which) was almost unbearable to take. It was so strong, I assume another smell was being masked. I’ve never taken the time to leave a review for any hotel stay (good or bad) but this warranted a warning. I checked in around 8PM. When I politely explained the issue and asked if another room was available I was told “no”. I’m sure there were still guests arriving and I could have been assigned another room. The receptionist did offer to inspect the room with me…but what would that do if the hotel is truly booked? I’ve stayed at lower grade hotels in terms of cleanliness but I’d rather a layer of dust than being trapped in a fume filled room. I was told that the hotel was a pet friendly facility and it could be the carpets. Not an accommodating experience and dealing with a massive headache. I used to live in Louisville and come back often - there are much better and affordable options than this hotel. My inner Karen is coming out for the first time ever…I guess you could say it’s the fumes getting to my head!

Clean, comfortable, good service, easy parking, typical downtown hotel venue. I’m not a big fan of big chain hotels/motels, but this one was nice. A small, but important to me feature was Starbucks Coffee in the lobby. The staff was great. I dropped off the keys, but forgot a bag in the room. Called the hotel when we were eating breakfast and they understood. Went back and they gave me a key to get back into the room, no questions. My only reason for 4 stars was, as noted before, I prefer more interesting lodging than the chain hotels.

I stayed here for a conference and booked it about a year ago. When I booked my room, I had a great rate, probably a normal rate when there isn't a conference, I assume. When I went to the front desk to check out, I was told that the rate I had reserved the room for was not the rate they could charge me, and they ended up charging me double. I argued that they cannot just change a rate without any warning, and the man working behind the desk was snotty and kept saying "well, if we have to change a rate, we will send an email." I asked for email proof, because I did not receive any emails telling me my rate would be different. He said the person who would have sent it was not working, and he couldn't pull up a copy of the email himself for proof. I had proof of my reservation amount and my confirmation email with it, and showed it to him. He never said anything about honoring the rate I had, or possibly adjusting the rate a bit to accommodate the difference, no extra points offered to my account, no apology, or anything. I did not have time to stay and wait for this person to come and show me some email they might have sent me. I have stayed with Marriott hotels for work and personal travel for over 10 years. This was one of the worst experiences and customer service I have received.

This hotel is in the perfect spot! It was basically across the street from whiskey row. It was only 15 minute ride or so to the bourbon and beyond concerts. Getting a pick up by Uber was easy. The room and beds were clean and comfortable. I would say the rooms are nice. Definitely what I would expect for the price. The staff was so nice and helpful with anything we needed. I will be staying here again!

My wife & I do several "weekend" getaways throughout the year & had the pleasure of staying at this hotel. I had some questions about the local restaurants & called in while en route. The front desk agent, Rosemary G., was extremely helpful and answered all of my questions. Rosemary G was equally AMAZING when my wife & I checked in. She was super helpful, courteous, and a blessing to interact with. To the managers that read this, give her a raise! She represents your property amazingly well!

We choose this hotel because it was so close to the KFC yum center. We literally stepped out and there it was. The rooms were so clean. I loved the little fridge tucked away in the cabinet. The bed was so comfy, like sleeping on a firm marshmallow. The blankets felt like a hug. The pillows were too squishy. Little bit firmer pillows are needed. The staff were so nice. Always willing to help. The bar was awesome! The food was ordered and delivered in under 20 minutes. (They were super busy because of the pink tour) under normal circumstances I'd expect even faster! It such a wonderful experience. Definitely worth the money.

The staff here was AMAZING. They understood our situation because of our special needs son and you couldn't ask for a better staff of people. Especially one cleaning lady went out of her way to find me a cart to move our luggage. I don't remember her name but THANK YOU SO MUCH........

Nice room, nice facilities, good location though downtown noise can be loud but that’s to be expected downtown. Staff was all super pleasant, friendly, and helpful… from front desk to the woman running the bistro to the security staff. Very pleasant stay.

Great location. Rooms were adequate for what we needed. Only issues was there was only one elevator was working and ice machines on a few of the floors not producing ice

We recently stayed at this property for several days with a group of friends. When we arrived to our room it smelled like body odor. I have to say the room was very clean and I think it was the air conditioner that was causing the smell. The noise level is beyond ridiculous outside of the hotel. Cars are racing up and down the road at all hours of the night. This hotel is extremely close to a main bridge. Earplugs are sitting on the night stand due to the level of noise that you can hear from your room. You can even hear loud cars from outside when you are standing in the hallway of the hotel. Believe me you will not be able to sleep well. After a couple of days of not sleeping well at night I went to the front desk to speak with management. The front staff is very nice and professional. I wanted to cancel our room for the last night of our stay. I went down around 9:00 a.m. and was tried to check out and get a refund just for the last night of our stay. Check out was not until noon that day. I was told that the room was non refundable, but the supervisor would reach out to the general manager and see what could be done for us. We were told that they would not refund our last night if we cancelled. I wanted to stay at another hotel literally just to get some sleep. I was awake from 1:30-6:30 a.m. due to excessive noise outside of the hotel. We were told that we could move to another end of the hotel, which we decided to do. This room seemed to have a great deal of noise at the beginning of the evening, but got better as the night went on. I would definitely not recommend this hotel!!! The hotel hallways are very warm and musty smelling. The location was fine and very close to a distillery and some places to eat. I definitely learned my lesson on this trip. I should have read the reviews a lot sooner. I hope this is helpful to anyone traveling to stay at this hotel.

The most noisy hotel I have ever stayed. The hotel is right by a large bridge and all muscle cars hit their gas pedal to show off as they entered the bridge. No quiet room in this hotel due to its L shape and location. Poor service and the restaurant is not really and sit down place as explained to me by the front desk. They removed the hot tub a yr ago due to “hygiene concerns”.

This was by far the worst Marriott I have ever stayed in from the moment I arrived it was unprofessional. My room wasn’t ready and when I checked in there was an issue with the amount I was charged and was told that there was nothing that could be done. I am a GM at another Marriott for a another company so I called to verify that was correct and I was told that it wasn’t so now I’m upset because they lied. Spoke w Anthony who wasn’t going to help so I waited a couple of days to speak with Andre, again no help. The bed was supposed to be a King but was not a true king and the room was definitely not worth the price with a very small TV and unbelievable noise. I would never have thought that this was a Marriott property and would never stay there again…If it wasn’t for my itinerary I would have changed hotels but I couldn’t get a refund.

Super close to the KFC Yum Center! No hair dryer or microwave in the room. The parking garage elevator is terrible. However, Arthur checked us in and was fantastic both nights! Thank you Arthur for being so amazing!! Our room was very clean! You can hear loud cars from downtown so they do provide a sound machine and earplugs in your room.

Room was clean and nice. Staff was excellent. Several previous reviews complained about the noise level but we didn't notice a real problem and slept well. The only problem we had was the fridge didn't work, but really didn't need it so wasn't a major issue. Would stay here again.

This location fit our needs, great stop from Chicago to Chattanooga. I was concerned when arriving to room and saw ear plugs by the beside table, as a courtesy Hotel provided, this hotel is close to 65 and the street by hotel is busy as well. It was manageable, I did sleep. Staff was great.

Paying for parking at an expensive hotel is asking for a bit much. Should be included for your valued customers. Bistro wasn't open. The bed was not comfortable at all. Front desk was not friendly. We booked this hotel while we were in town for a big concert at the yum center across the street. We will not stay at this hotel again, rather walk a few blocks than deal with the lousy service and paying to park!!

We stayed here in early November for a night (off-season). We had an excellent stay. The hotel was clean, people were very pleasant. They have a small breakfast bistro & small bar with limited beer/wine selection so it was nice to have 1 drink while we found a restaurant to eat and drink at. The pool was AMAZING! It's off season so we had the pool to ourselves and they had great music playing through the speakers. There's no hot tub but the pool water was a perfect temperature. We would stay here again!

The rooms are tiny and it feels like they have too much furniture in the room for the space. Street noise is horrible. Windows do nothing to keep sound out. At first I was wondering why there were ear plugs on the night stand….it’s the only way to get a good night’s sleep. It’s in a great location for local restaurants. There are several within walking distance.

I'm really struggling with giving my stay a 3 because the staff at this hotel was AMAZING and the room was nice. However the street noise was incredibly loud. So loud, ear plugs are issued standard with your room. Very grateful to be able to get a LARGE coffee in the lobby after really not sleeping for my entire stay but I probably would not stay again due to the noise.

We really can't thank Courtyard enough for our stay there this September. We booked a big room block for our wedding and also booked a couple suites to get ready in before the wedding. Dea went above and beyond and stocked our room with Champagne glasses, bowls for ice, a sweet card, and even brought up an additional refrigerator for our extra champagne! We even had to extend our room block past the allotted amount of rooms AND time because we had some late out of town guests that forgot to book. Dea was extremely accommodating and helped them book their room. In addition, we had hotel bags for all of our guests that the front desk staff helped pass out. Our guests were absolutely blown away by how friendly and helpful the staff was. Every time they walked by, they were greeted with a big smile and offered valuable recommendations. Thank you again, Courtyard, you made our special day even better!!! We can't thank you enough!

I’ve recently stayed at a couple of Courtyard by Marriott on the East Coast & Ohio. By far, this is the best Courtyard I’ve stayed in. The staff at the lobby is so friendly. The crew at the Bistro were great but Pam is outstanding! Other Courtyard walls are paper thin. This was not an issue here. There is lively music playing in the lobby putting a pep in my step. You’re also steps away from bars & restaurants. You won’t be disappointed staying here.

I have had great sleeps in a variety of hotel brands by Marriott… great sleeps until this property. I selected this property because of its proximity to the start line for the Kentucky Derby Marathon. Unfortunately, the hotel is near popular downtown sites and is loud through the night. When I entered the room I noticed ear plugs, however, these are futile. What I suspect is these ear plugs is a cheap way to deal with guests being upset about the noise, however, I’d suggest the property updates windows and AC to reduce street noise from entering rooms. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful and ultimately kept from giving this review a 1 star.

We just stayed for one night at the Courtyard Marriott. While we loved the location, we were not impressed by the service. We are lifetime Titanium members (highest level Marriott status) and generally choose to stay at Marriott’s so that we get good service. Before we got to the hotel, we did mobile check-in, which made it clear that if there was availability, we would get a room upgrade. Additionally, we used the chat-feature of the Marriott app and requested a suite if possible and again were told that they would accommodate if there was availability. When we checked in pretty late into the evening and arrived into our room, it was quite small and we had an additional issue with it, so we asked if we could switch rooms. When we went to our new room right next door, we were surprised to find out that it was a SUITE! While we were appreciative to have the suite, we were disappointed that it was clearly available and yet were not given the suite initially. We were very happy with the availability of the Tesla charger. We generally pick hotels based on having a charger. The Tesla charger was available and it worked great, although we were a bit nervous since they only had one. We used their enhanced (upgraded) internet for work. We are on a lot of video calls for work and this generally works great. Unfortunately the internet dropped a few times during a number of the calls, which was very frustrating. Because of these experiences, we would probably choose to stay at a different downtown Marriott hotel because there are clearly a lot of choices.

Pretty good hotel for the price. Staff is always very friendly and helpful. This is my go to when I stay in Louisville. The only downside is that the restaurant is a Starbucks so the food is all microwaved/premade and then quick oven made. So while it sounds like great food, you might as well buy from the gift shop and microwave if for much less. Great place to stay if you're going out in the area.

Very good stay! Clean rooms. Really wonderful staff. Left us a couple of earplugs that we didn't need as noise outside wasn't too bad. coffee shop opened half hour earlier than posted which was a big help. indoor pool and gym facilities were above expectations. Great job all around! (oh and everything we wanted to check out incl the NuLu neighborhood were all in walking distance. !)

This has to be one of the most welcoming and friendly hotels I've ever stayed at. The staff was always absolutely amazing. I've stayed at a lot of Marriott hotels and I've never had such a pleasant experience at any of the others. Whoever is managing this hotel and doing a very good job. We stayed 5 nights and any time I came across any staff member, from the front desk to a cleaner, they were all smiles and extremely kind. Thank you for helping make our long stay even more enjoyable!
