We were charged an extra $50 cash at time of check-in that we were not told about in advance. The room stunk! We had dirt swept into almost every corner. I found a hair tie and cigarette butt between my mattress and box springs, in a no smoking room. Since they obviously didn't change the sheets, did not trust that anything else was cleaned or sanitized so I wiped down the sink, the sink handles, the toilet seat and the tub before we used them with the antibacterial wipes I brought for the trip. We went out and bought an anti-bacterial spray to spray the beds down with. We did not get any room service, no one answered the phone when you call down to the desk. There were not enough clean towels to get for 2 days, so we got 3, instead of 4. I put peppermint essential oil on a piece of toilet paper and stuck it in the air conditioner to help air the room out so allergies would not prevent me from breathing. Can corporate office and sent pictures and told them about the experience and they refuse to do anything. Not one to normally write a review, but Totally DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!!

This was a bad MISTAKE. I booked 2 nights here and as soon as we got to the room we HAD to leave. These non-smoking rooms were so stinky we couldn’t tolerate staying. Dirt smudges on the walls. Stains on the sheets. The floor was sticky. There were homeless people hanging out down the hall. We just didn’t feel safe or clean to stay here with our children so we took the loss and left. The gentleman at the front desk (they do service though a window) offered to change rooms but over all place did not feel safe. Overpriced in my opinion for what you get. Located behind a Waffle House.

I guess location is the only decent thing this hotel has going for it. If you are traveling with a family, single female or with children DO NOT STAY HERE. We witnessed several drug deals. Rooms smelled of smoke, and not just cigarettes. Rooms are very, very small. Water barely got warm. Beds were ehhh. Pillows were pancakes. Tub had rust stains in it. We had 3 Rooms. Every room was the same. It would have not taken more than a hard push to open a door without a key. I have stayed in several Red Roof Inns and never had a issue. SKIP this one. Spend the extra money and go down the road.

It's right beside interstate so that's convenient but not much else positive about this experience. The staff at the front desk were dismissive and irritable. The rooms have declined since my last stay(over 3 years ago). Waffle House is in the same parking lot, that's a plus for me, as I like to eat. The people who stay here aren't the people you would want your kids around. They stand outside in the parking lot talking and drinking, smoking weed, and arguing.

If there is a way to give this place zero, I would, I am a frequent customer here at this specific location and yeah it’s always dirty you got to have your own supplies. But the other night we paid 10 extra dollars to get a microwave in our room so we could eat our food and after we ate just a few bites and lay down and turn the lights out 10 minutes later I pick up my cup to take a drink, and there is bugs crawling up at a jump up and work, but not only is it cockroaches it’s bedbug, because there is two distinctly different looking bugs I took the bug the pictures everything to the office try to get the guys to come and look he would not even come and look he kept saying I had to talk to the owner tomorrow and I’m like you are the owner he’s like no I’m not surprised but I know he’s the boss because I’ve stayed there 1 million times , and so he said he would switch our rooms in at this point is free in the morning. This is getting a little ridiculous the next time we go into I pull the sheets down to check it and it’s covered in blood spots so obviously, it’s infested with bedbugs as well And I go down and tell him just to give me a refund and he did and I’m like can you at least comp us for our food that got ruined but he wouldn’t, so I would not recommend staying here. Oh, you’ll be taking some friends with you when you go

Description for hotel was misleading…. Price was affordable yet now we know why….. This place is sketchy for sure! charged up front before seeing our room, the room was absolutely filthy with grime, dirt, dust and stains everywhere. Hypodermic needle in front of our door was a great indication that we were in the wrong neighborhood. Staff were not professional and apparently live here , the place looks and operates like an addicts flophouse. Night one we discovered Roach infestation and when we complained we were told they could change our room or we could leave… a zero F’s given attitude! We had no choice but to deal with it ( which we cleaned and treated for roaches) as we came 5 hours for a major event and no other options at that time. (Everything else was booked) Clearly there are no standards here for any sort of quality, security, or customer service! Never again and I advise everyone against this place.

It was a pretty decent stay. Friendly Front desk staff and the room was clean and neat. The amenities were good. All in all it was a value for money stay

I know most people simply write off one star reviews as people bitter over a bad experience. Do not do that with this review. I will happily explain why I rated them so low, in an unbiased way. The hotel has an almost threatening aura to it at night time. By the time we got to the place, it was after dark, and I almost took the financial hit to find somewhere that felt more safe for the night. Check in was super simple, and check out was even easier. That's why they earn two stars for the service. When I got to the room, it was freezing. The heat was completely shut off, and it took me a full hour to realize I hadn't turned on the heater, because I was looking at caked on dirt on the dial thinking *it* was the indicator. The place looked like it hadn't been cleaned yet this year. The toilet didn't really flush. The bed was super uncomfortable. The environment lends itself far more to fear than to relaxation. When I checked in, the night audit worker decided not to charge me a deposit, and I genuinely feel like it's because they knew they wouldn't be able to tell if I trashed the place, or if it was already like that. The room quite literally looks like it was featured on an episode of First 48. In closing, picking this hotel has cost me the privilege of picking our next hotel when we return to the city. Avoid at all costs.

If I could give this place zero stars I would. Upon returning to our room from a conference my girlfriend and I were attending we discovered a cockroach running across the floor. While disgusting we thought it was a one off. However, within minutes we spotted three more, one on the door, one on a wall, and one under the desk. When we moved the refrigerator we discovered more!!🤢🤮😡. We had to call the front desk multiple times before somebody answered, and when they did they didn't seem to care about the roach problem in our room.

We've never had a problem with this business up until Our most recent attempt of renting rooms for the crews, they wanted to charge Us a room deposit for every room at the rate of $50 each. As a medium sized contractor I can't afford $500 worth of deposits so We took Our business elsewhere.

Room was very small, no amenities. Normally I would be ok with this as it's supposed to be a cheap motel, but at $111 a night for the most basic room, this was outrageous. You can stay at a reputable hotel for a couple dollars more per night and get full room amenities, breakfast, pool, gym, etc. There was a large crack in the ceiling as well as a hole in the wall that very poorly patched, heater made noise. Will stay away from Red Roofs in the future. Not to mention the $50 deposit that still has not been credited back to my account. No smoking or damages when I left.

WARNING DO NOT STAY HERE!!! PICTURES ARE PROOF! We found cockroaches in our room. Not just a few either, a lot!!! When called down to front desk they told us they were booked and would move us to another room the next day. Ummm how about no! We immediately found a much better place to stay! I was not going to sleep in a room infested with cockroaches. Inspected all of my belongings outside of new hotel because cockroaches will travel with you just like bed bugs!

This pic. To be fair, the staff were as good as can be under these circumstances. The place is thoroughly under-maintained. Even so, it's gross and unsafe. Huge bonus, Waffle House across the parking lot. Still, just go to Waffle house, don't stay at this Red Roof Inn.

Was told that there was a 50$ deposit which was not mentioned when I made the reservation. There would have to be a room check to get the deposit back. When I told them that there were cigarette burn marks on comforters the man said I should have said something before accepting room. I was a little upset to say the least but got my deposit back. There was a man before who had put some roaches he found in the room in the slot. The price was great for the few hours I was there but would not recommend.

I booked and paid for a room, through a third-party site, at Red Roof recently. When I arrived at the location (off Newburg Rd.) I was informed I was on the DNR list. Reason? ‘Guest smoked in room and broke the fan into pieces.’ The last time I stayed at a RR was January 2021. The manager told me that it was this location, that I am posting this review on, that added me to the DNR list. I am a non-smoker and always leave my room clean and tidy! I was absolutely furious- not only was I wrongly accused of smoking in the room and destroying property, I wasn’t able to even be refunded through the third-party site! I even followed up with corporate and they couldn’t even rectify the issue. Needless to say… I won’t be staying at a RR property again and I will encourage people I know not to book with RR. For now on, if I stay at a budget hotel like RR I will make sure my room is checked BEFORE I leave. And if you do choose to stay at this location I recommend you do the same!

Im a minimalist tyoe of person so I dont have high expectations for things like hotels and restaurants. Usually the lowest price wins with me. However in this case the difference of $10 can make a difference especially when it comes to location. This hotelnis nowhere near the airport as I thought. Innfact it felt like Inwas in the ghetto section of town. There were dudes outside of my room door yacking itnuo past midnight, which sort of delayed my sleep time. The room itself served its purpose, and the bed was nice.

Everything exceeded our expectations!!! It was a very clean 2 bedroom, and it was beautiful! The beds were very comfortable, and the bathrooms were so clean they looked brand new!! What a joy!!! Friendly staff from front desk to housekeeping staff.

Tucked behind a Waffle House, close enough to the freeway you can worry about your pet slipping through the fence with a hole in their designated "pet safe area" that's overgrown with no room for redemption if this happens, you too can stay at this magical place where they'll barge into your room at 10:57am citing their no tolerance 11am checkout policy. Not to mention the front desk rather play candy crush than provide quick service. But at least the room is clean enough to be okay with a quick overnight stay. 👌

The AC worked well. The table lamp was missing a shade. The shower worked well, except that the shower curtain didn't spread out far enough and water got on the floor behind the toilet.

Opened door - greeted by a live cockroach. Felt creepy rest of my stay. Room next door left their dog alone - it cried and howled for 2 hours. Called the desk to complain - they said they’d take care of it. They came & knocked on their door - of course no one is there. We’d told them that. Dog continued to howl another hour. Smell of marijuana permiated the walls. This is a party hotel - next to Waffle House. Loud music and drunken arguing rest of the night. I rate it a Zero!!!

Room is okay but overpriced. It was very loud around here and the air conditioner won't stay on to block the noiseout. Large groups of people partying in the parking lot sreaming and hollering till after midnight and nobody saying a word to them. Hard to sleep with all this going on.

Excellent property and very convenient to Kentucky Expo Center and Kentucky Derby activities. The staff at this property are all great. They all go above and beyond to make your stay comfortable. The room was wonderful, clean, and perfect to spend couple of nights. The bed was extremely comfortable. Will definitely stay here when I pass through the Louisville and recommend you and my friends to stay at Red Roof Inn Louisville Expo Airport as well.

Please do not stay at this hotel. Worst hotel I’ve ever been too. BEWARE they have roaches. Bedding sheets were so dirty and had holes in them. There were shady people outside all night. Walls are paper thin you could hear everything. Would not recommend staying here to anyone. 1 star only because the staff was friendly.

Room was clean. Bathtub was stained and looked dirty. The beds slept like rocks. Pillows flat. Front service attendant was..well he did his job and checked us in correctly. If you was hoping for hospitality you need to pay extra for that and at another hotel. If you was looking for quite neighbors that's not case at this place. At least not the night we stayed. Not the hotels fault. Just people being well.. people. If you was wanted an early wake up call that is punctual it can be provided. Please be advised it might be a truck from your rowdy neighbors driving into the room next to you. That will wake you up for sure. Again not the hotels fault just people making people mistakes. After our wake up call. We got the point, got dressed, packed up and checked out. Never again. This place isn't for me. If your cup tea is budget friendly, low hospitality, stained bathroom, late night drunks that are a wee bit rowdy and drive through wake up calls, this red roof inn has everything for you.

This red roof is in a very bad part of town. The room is sorta clean but smells strongly of cleanser and the floor had sticky spots I don't recommend this place at all.I need to update. WE HAD ROACHES and the front desk said we must have left the door open and said there was nothing they could do

Canceled our reservation during louder than life because we were at the festival and didn't check in by 6 pm. They ran our card used for the reservation multiple times and set off the fraud protection, which we didn't know about due to spotty cell service. Claimed they tried to call us and we "hung up" on them 10 times. None of these alleged calls were ever recieved because of the cell service. Was incredibly rude over the phone when we finally called after getting the cancelation notice. Left us without a room 4 hours from home. Avoid this place like the plague if you're in for LTL or Bourbon and beyond. Since I can't reply to the reply: YOU were the people we booked through. We're already filing a credit card dispute. I will not call you back given the way that your front desk operator spoke to me the last time. Incredible that he talks to people like he did me. Absolutely shameful. Reading the rest of your reviews I shouldn't be suprised though.

The staff was very unprofessional and the rooms reeked of smoke. And the worst part is that they have bed bugs. That was a nice 2am wake up call.

  • 1/5 Kota P. 1 year ago on Google
I would give zero stars if I could. They are infested with cockroaches . Went to one room was infested. Requested another and it was also infested except the second room had a meth pipe stuck in the light fixture. The front desk people are the most unprofessional people I've ever encountered. Also , if you pay with a card BEWARE OF FRADULENT CHARGES. I think the lady at the front desk was skimming money from customers and adding extra fees. Worst hotel in the city.

  • 1/5 Sarah S. 2 years ago on Google
Customer Service here was shocking. I was spoken too so rudely over the phone from the start, and was then hung up on in the middle of me trying to explain my situation! I asked if it was possible for my mother to pay for our stay as a gift. They refused. I was confused as ive done it countless times before on Booking.com. For ex: our honeymoon, my mother in law paid. As long as MY name is on the reservation, it MATCHES my ID, and I can provide another card for incidentals if need be. They still refused. I called other hotels locally and they all said it was fine? I even did an online search, and its not unheard of to do this ..So rather than speaking to me like a human being to come up with a solution, they chose to lose my money all together. As most likely I would have still stayed IF the front desk guy wasnt so nasty. I say just take your business elsewhere.

Decent hotel for the price.. i almost gave them 3 star just because of the noise there was during the night at the Waffle House right next to the hotel (people arguing for couple of hours late at night) but this was not the hotel fault.. 4 stars because even tho the personal is friendly the room I was put in didn’t have microwave/refrigerator. They do have wifi. Overall experience I’ll say is “ok” to stay one night (maybe two) if you are just passing by this town.

This place is a toilet. The room stank like a wet ashtray. The floor was filthy. We found a roach in the sink the first night. By morning we had found two bedbugs. I went to the desk to complain and was assured by "Brad" that he had personally inspected the room. As we had nowhere else to go, I skeptically consented to the previous night being refunded and a move to a new room. This second room was MUCH cleaner, odor free, and we had no issues with any sort of bug (that we know of). Presently home from our visit and waiting to see if we brought any "guests" home with us. Every staff member we dealt with was exceedingly polite, but I'm sure they are well aware that they are booking filthy rooms, they have been booking filthy rooms, and will continue to book filthy rooms.

Had to move rooms after 5 minutes of checking inn due to it being infested with roaches. I've been here 3 nights and trying to check out and get my deposit back and the employee is stating I didn't $50 for a deposit. He Continuously keeps telling me to come back tomorrow, which I refuse to do. This place is dirty infested with bugs and steal your money. Currently I'm waiting on the police to arrive
