I
feel
like
I
must
first
place
a
disclaimer
on
this
entry.
I
will
stay
as
close
to
the
facts
as
possible
before
stating
my
personal
opinion.
Extended
Stay
America
has
once
been
know
among
all
business
travelers
that
needed
a
place
to
live
that
is
more
like
an
apartment
than
a
hotel,
hence
the
namesake.
In
my
personal
experience,
I
have
heard
many
stories
of
fellow
colleagues
that
would
definitely
recommend
this
as
a
better
option
if
you
want
to
be
able
to
cook,
store
elements
in
a
larger
fridge,
and
wash/store
dishes.
After
driving
from
Florida
to
Kentucky,
I
decided
to
go
online
and
book
the
nearest
place
to
stay.
I
pulled
over
and
saw
that
many
places
I
enjoyed
in
the
past
were
around
the
same
price,
Extended
Stay
America
was
$10
less
expensive.
The
following
was
the
price
I
paid
to
save
ten
dollars.
The
lobby
closes
at
8pm.
No
one
will
be
there
to
greet
you.
Entry
to
the
lobby
is
through
a
door
that
is
extremely
difficult
to
open,
as
it
sticks.
A
resident
had
to
tell
us
that
the
door
needs
a
good,
strong
tug
to
open.
An
uncomfortably
small
lobby
was
enough
room
for
maybe
a
few
people
to
occupy
before
its
full.
The
next
door
is
security
controlled
via
access
card.
A
sign
with
instructions
to
dial
a
specific
number
was
provided
for
check-in
after
8
p.m.
After
calling,
there
was
a
brief
wait
of
5
minutes
until
the
staff
was
able
to
open
the
screen
to
proceed
with
processing.
The
outside
was
super
filthy,
which
was
mirrored
by
the
lobby
floor.
Since
it
was
after
midnight,
I
decided
to
proceed
and
ignore
the
obvious
red
flags.
The
halls.
Cleanliness
did
not
improve
after
passing
the
secured
entrance.
Immediately,
we
experienced
a
heavy
stench
of
mixed
smoke
of
cigarettes,
cigars,
and
marijuana.
Ironically,
there
are
clearly
posted
signs
everywhere
claiming
to
be
a
smoke
free
environment.
The
elevator
was
super
filthy
with
smears
and
smudges
on
the
walls,
trash
on
the
floor,
and
heavy
scrape
marks
on
the
display
that
only
read
FC
instead
of
the
current
floor
number.
Exiting
on
the
third
floor,
the
hope
was
that
the
air
would
clear
of
all
the
smoke-filled
smells.
It
was
actually
so
thick
that
only
one
thing
kept
me
going
to
the
room:
exhaustion.
I
had
to
stay
as
I
was
too
tired
to
find
another
habitat
for
the
night.
The
room.
There
was
no
way
to
confirm
that
the
sheets
or
towels
were
clean
based
on
the
state
of
the
room.
The
cooking
area
still
had
grease
from
a
previous
tenant.
The
walls
were
dirty.
The
tub
was
not
clean.
Worst
of
all...
the
roaches.
I
killed
two
of
them.
After
disposing
of
them,
I
did
not
see
any
more.
Microtransactions.
This
hotel
has
a
lot
of
potential
charges.
If
you
don't
walk
your
own
trash
to
the
dumpster
outside,
if
you
smoke
inside
the
building,
even
if
you
placed
a
call
on
the
room
phone
that
didn't
connect...
all
result
in
extra
charges.
Sadly,
the
one
microtransaction
I
would
have
preferred
was
for
coffee
in
the
room...
alas,
there
was
none.
Checkout.
This
was
fairly
standard
and
easy.
Leave
the
keys
in
the
room
when
you
leave.
That's
it.
The
following
is
my
personal
opinion
based
off
this
experience.
Buyers
beware.
Choose
ANYWHERE
else
but
here.
If
it
wasn't
for
the
residents
that
appeared
(not
confirmed)
to
live
here
permanently,
I
would
actually
motion
to
have
this
building
condemned.
However,
I
am
but
one
weary
traveler.
I'm
sure
that
the
owners
of
Extended
Stay
America
are
well
aware
of
this
location
and
have
actively
weighed
their
options
to
remain
open.
I
hope
this
review
helps
some
of
you
understand
that
the
$10
monetary
savings
cost
more
in
the
end.
I
leave
you
with
this:
how
much
is
"Peace
Of
Mind"
worth
to
you?
