If I could give 0 stars I would. I reserved a queen sized bed in advance. They sold it and gave me two twin size bed. One worker decided to come into my room not knowing I was there. And walked back out like he made a mistake. I called the office they said he forgot something. I asked what did he forget they said the refrigerator. How do you FORGET A REFRIGERATOR??? Took over a month to get my deposit back. They’re roach infested rooms. I highly don’t recommend unless this is a last resort. I had to deal with roaches all weekend. They were closed Saturday and Sunday. Moved me rooms Monday to another room with roaches. Manager literally stated. “Hopefully this one don’t have roaches” and laughed It’s completely unacceptable and digusting. My kids were sitting at the table and roaches were crawling across the table and gotten into their food. They don’t value their customers at All. This place makes me itch and makes me feel nasty and dirty. DO NOT waste your time on this establishment.

Had a really bad experience at this place. Starting from the checking process where they check in desk is not open after 7.30pm and you have to call the maintenance person who will let check you in and take you to the room. But they had switched my room to a different room than the ones I booked. I booked a room with 2 queen beds and they gave me a room with 2 single bed. Even this room, the key access didn't work and only was to get in was to call maintenance every time. Most of the electrical outlets were not working in the room. Bathroom sink gave black water when I first started using it. There were several cockroaches in the room. Window curtain was falling off. When I asked the next day for a different room, they flatly refused to give it as they were all booked out. I had some other people staying with me and the staff refused to provide an extra mattress or even some extra blankets, which was the last straw and I had to leave the hotel at midnight and pay more money to go to another hotel. Wouldn't recommend anyone to go here even if desperate until the management makes some major changes.

If I could rate this a zero, I would. There was a deposit required that wasn't mentioned anywhere until I arrived for check-in. The office is only open from 11-7 Monday through Saturday. I reserved a room for three people, but got a place with one bed. There was no couch or anything. They had no other rooms. I ended up sleeping on the hardwood floor for 2 nights. The room itself stank of cigarette smoke. I told the front desk, and they handed me a can of lysol. We also killed no less than five roaches throughout our two day stay. I will stay away from anything with the Red Roof name from here on out.

place has roaches really bad we didn't have any food in our room and I woke up with a big live roach in my pony tail talk about freaky its nasty dirty place and no one in the office all weekend our tv didn't work so we just had to sit and kill all the roaches nothing else to do if the TV doesn't work. Monday morning when the front is open I went down to the TV didn't work and the room was full of roaches. all I had to say was yeah we get that alot. didn't try to take any money off of the stay or anything the maintenance man tried several and the TV still do not work. so we had to move to a different hotel. I should have gave us a free night or took some money off of what we had to pay for the weekend. nothing was done.... stay far away from this place!!!!

They tried to resolve the myriad of issues I had with my door. They really did. I will give them credit for that, but at the end of the day it just wasn't enough. The refrigerator was rattling all the time. The shower wouldn't get warm. The door was bent at the bottom as though it had been kicked in and one morning someone cleaning the walkways with a leaf blower blew a ton of dirt and debris into my room. Loud fights at 3am. Random people knocking on your door saying they got the wrong room. Smelly trash piles on the stairs. The staff is only there for 8 hours a day, so anything that happens before 11am or after 7pm - good luck - you are on your own. I would give one star if it wasn't for the manager who went above and beyond to try to accommodate me.

The lady who checked us in was nice. That’s all I can say good about this place. People loitering in parking lot watching and calling out at us gathering our things. One guy said he wished he had a gun. We packed our stuff and left. Not to mention the room was falling apart, door barley locked without so much force, pee on and in the toilet, every piece of furniture or drywall was broken or cracked. Please don’t ignore the bad reviews.

My room was filthy. There was a moldy sponge in the sink and the floor had a distinctive sticky quality to it. When I went to shower, it got worse. As I turned on the shower -- more of a trickle that you have to cup your hands under and apply to your body -- two roaches crawled out of the drain. When I stepped in, the water ran black off the soles of my feet and left a distinctive stain on the shower floor. I'd been wearing shoes and socks all day, the only time I'd been barefoot was on the floor of my room. That room doesn't need a cleaning, it needs an exorcism. The redeeming quality was Carlo at the front desk: he's super polite, upbeat, and ready to help. Give that man a raise, he deserves it!!

Such a pathetic hotel it is.. Poor service , No hot water even on a snowy day, You dont even get what you paid for, False commitments, Receptionist disconnects calls at your face, They convince you to shut your mouth before u speak valid points.. Although the hotel is just $10 difference to any other good hotels out there.. Just taken advantage of foreign national customers. My experience: In my experience, we booked a 2-bed room that was unavailable. Instead, they gave us two separate rooms—one was occupied by me and the other was under maintenance & when reported they gave other room which is occupied by someone else who was argued seriously for entering into his premises. Consequently, we didn't receive what we paid for, leading my friend to leave the motel and find alternative accommodation. I paid the full price, as he did not contribute his share upon departure, They were no hot water or normal water available to use on a snowy day. The motel staff is aware of this issue and committed me for a FULL REFUND for all this inconvenience and they've written the same on a piece of paper as well. However, they rejected it later wisely and everytime I call the front desk for this follow-up they get frustrated instead of me and DISCONNECT THE CALL AT OUR FACE. I think this could be because we being foreign nationals and students so we could do nothing which is clearly taken granted here is what i feel.

Camron, at the front desk is a good guy he was very honest, helpful & courtesy. My room is fine a few minor flaws but they are working on updating things. Parking is good you have a parking pass & I noticed the local police department driving around through the business through the night. Also, when I got up for work in am there was one sitting out front watching over the place. This gives me piece of mind because of leaving so early for work.Good place to stay & good rates, it's not a Holiday Express are Marriott but, you can stay just fine here.

I've fairly enjoyed my stay here although there have been a couple of hiccups and most of those could have been avoided through a more attentive staff member or two. That points that I have knocked off here or all for the same reason and that's that I have been waiting for a television that works since last night and it is now 9:30 p.m. the next night I paid a lot of money to stay here for a week I don't believe it's too much to ask just to have the same things the other guests here do including a working television. Other than that though for the most part the staff is very nice and helpful as well as most of the other people that are staying here. Overall enjoyed my time so far here

I wanted to stay for two week and they only gave me one night and the worst part was I didn’t even sleep at this hotel I had to get a completely did room at a different hotel. As soon as I walked in without turning on the light I seen a roach. I turned the light on and they were all over the beds and all over the room and the photos on the website are completely different than what I got. I went to go get my money back and the workers acted like they knew about the roaches and also acted like they didn’t care at all. I drove almost 10 hours and had to deal with this. This was absolutely the worst place I have ever been to this was so disgusting. I would never recommend this place to anybody

This freshly updated property is worth the nightly & weekly rate they charge. I'm certain you will not find anything that could compare in this area of town. Change doesn't happen like more than half America expects it to. The manager took over this property about 6 months ago and it's been challenging to say the least for one person to personally spend so much of her time on-site , she deserves a lot more credit then staff members and some guest give her. Everyone deserves grace , compassion and patience so come back if you've tried the property and try again. I think you might just find yourself with a better brighter look on it. Red Roof making memories and reasonably priced with a full size fridge and counter top stove!

The person who checked us in was friendly, and I appreciate that. But...We found roaches in the bathroom, the television was going out so the screen had light and dark patches on it, there was barely any toilet paper for our stay (I had to bring in more myself), we had BLACK WATER coming out of the faucets, and only 2 outlets worked in the room. The bathroom door barely closed, there was hair on the walls of the shower, and the door to the room had a very unsecure lock. The hours for their front desk are few and they are closed from around 5pm Saturday until Monday morning, so you can't get in touch with anyone to get supplies or let them know they have black water coming out of their faucets. There was a wet floor sign that is apparently a permanent fixture in the elevator because there's urine regularly on the floor. I've stayed at a lot of places and I give a lot of leeway when it comes to what is acceptable or not, but this place was the worst I've stayed in.

This place has been amazing and accommodating with any issue we have had. Amazing staff. Rooms are as expected, clean and working order, we got a small 2 bed kitchenette the third floor but they have elevators for our grocerie shopping making life easier.

Horrible experience! Booked 2 weeks in advance through their website. The booking was canceled one day before my staying. No call answer but the story get worse. I went there to ask, a lot of people had the same problem because they overbooked and the people at the desk were not able to do their work. 5 ladies and just one was capable and everyone was keeping asking to her. A client in front of me took one hour for a simple booking of one week. Craziness

The snow and ice was cleared off the sidewalk and steps were safe during the winter storm. And I want to say the cleanliness of this place is amazing. They have a schedule that works well with the guest.

The customer service was friendly and flexible (Thanks Carlo). The rooms need some TLC but the location is good. It is right between St.Matthews and Hurstborne so you have entertainment in either direction. I would recommend this place to someone relocating from another state, a traveling nurse, or someone who needs an extended stay somewhere quiet and relaxed.

Remodeling going on but not noisy or obvious. Employees are friendly and welcoming. Maintenance is on hand and immediate response! Elevator needs to be fixed bad and new washing machines and dryers. Very quiet! Location is amazing! Security at night made me feel safe especially because I'm alone! Love this place!!!

If I could give a negative stars I would... I had the worst, inhumane, and frustrating stay when I was there a few months ago. Roaches everywhere, very sketchy, employees seemed like they didn't want to be there... They were always hiding. Office seemed unreachable...had a broken key and dead door for weeks. Had to chase down employees to let me in my room. Had to wait awhile each time. One time no one showed up! Manager rolled her eyes whenever she saw me coming to be let into the room THAT I PAID FOR. Was promised over and over it will be fixed...it wasn't.. wasn't offered any kind of coursity for the HUGE inconvenience and the emotional turmoil it caused. I wasn't even offered to move rooms. I asked and was told no. Then had the audacity to ask me why I didn't move rooms?? Your the manager... Why didn't move me rooms when I first asked. It's unnerving how easily the employees there could break into guests rooms. Someone entered my room without MY permission. Fights in the parking lot constantly, unsafe environment..I was planning on being there for couple months.. until I learned they were playing with my money.... I called cooperate, of course they gave me some heat for it.. when one of the employees said to call cooperate because he was even over it. reading the reviews I quickly learned that I wasn't the only one they have been double charging, miss charging, extra charging and refusing to give money back. They embezzle money and will make receipt full of discrepancies saying they aren't. Would NOT go to the hotel... I could write a book... Save yourself the headache and turmoil... DON'T go this hotel

The front desk attenuate was rude and not friendly at all. It was on February 10, 2024. We checked in and there was homeless people in the office begging for cigarettes and selling alcohol. When we got to our room it was filthy. No towels and one pillow. When I asked for towels the female attendee said we don't give extra towels and I and to explain 3 times we had none and only had one pillow. She acted like we was gonna steal 2 towels and a pillow. The towels was so old and thin and frayed, who would want them. I'll never go back here and never recommend this place to anyone. It was an awful experience for us. A complete waste of money.

Booked a room for 3 nights to see family for thanksgiving, check in was smooth, but the property had piles of trash all around. Got in the room and it was filthy. Roaches on the toilet and the toilet wouldn’t flush. Roaches on the walls. Hair and dirt in the bed. My husband grabbed a roach in a tissue and went down and showed the front counter. They agreed to refund us, and I got my refund through Expedia, however I did not get back the $50 room deposit, and was actually charged it twice. For weeks I’ve been emailing and trying to get ahold of someone. I’ve gotten “someone will contact you within 24 hrs” but it’s been a week and still nothing. So I’m out $100 for a hotel that I didn’t even end up staying at, and their corporate or whoever deals with the guest relation cases is a joke. The staff at the hotel are friendly tho.

Im honestly not sure how this location is still in business. We reserved our 2 twin room months ago as a through stop on our trip, to get handed a single double bed room. We went to the desk to get it corrected (security was working the desk, not management) to be told our reservation was not held when security called management. The room is filthy, almost no toilet paper, room covered in live and dead cockroaches, trash on the floor when we walked in, broken security lock on the door and even cable boxes hanging out of the walls. I seriously considered leaving and just sleeping in my car for the night. The only upside is the lack of bed bugs.

This is the worst hotel experience I've ever had in my life. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. I arrived to this hotel after a flight from NY for work and was set to check in after 11am. I made a reservation weeks in advance only to show up to a locked office with someone peeking through the blinds and ignoring the countless knocks which prevented me from checking in at 5pm and the office hrs are posted 11am-7pm. My reservation was for two twin beds. I was finally let into the office at 6pm and was told by management and the front desk that they would locate a room in 45 min but I would need to wait. I left did some shopping with a few friends returned back and was told I was misinformed, the room was not able to be rented because it was too much to clean. I was given options of leaving and coming back the following day although I mentioned I just flew in from NY. I was offered another bed to be brought over to the room although that never happened and it probably was impossible for the 2nd bed to fit due to the size of the room. I finally was asked after 8pm by Sonora who was the only person who seemed to care how she could assist. She realized there was no rooms available and poor wifi and started by trying to locate a temporary additional room for me after 8:30pm until something became available the following day so my friend didnt have to sleep on the floor. Sonora even offered her own personal wifi Hotspot because the wifi did not function in the rooms after expressing to her that we were there for work and needed internet. This woman went above and beyond on her day off for the few hours I stayed at this place, she deserves a promotion or raise. Aside from sonora going above and beyond, this place was a complete dump. There were people loitering throughout, looking like they were on drugs, the locks on the doors did not work throughout the hotel due to a system failure I was told that was ongoing for 2 weeks. leaving the property to get back inside your room required someone to let you back in your room because of the technical issues they were having with their key system. I ended up leaving a few hrs later after check in because a random person walked into my room at 3am as I was asleep which was extremely unsafe and dangerous. This place was extremely filthy inside and out. Poorly managed property and very deceiving from what's advertised. Today when I showed up to speak with management following my experience. Management refused to come down and speak with me and advised front desk to just refund me as I requested. I feel that my safety concerns were not acknowledged and I will definitely inquire more about these unsafe practices at this place. Lastly I waited outside again with a few other people at 5pm while the door was locked again Just to speak with someone. This place never answers their phone, even before I arrived and tried to confirm my stay. I witnessed a worker saying they hate hearing the phone ring and purposely ignore it.

Rooms are a decent size, I like that you can get to your room with out going inside, it's in a nice location parking lot is nicely lit I felt safe walking to my car at nite and it was quiet. It was also nice that it was walking distance to gas station\convenience store open 24\7

Whole stay was horrible. The first night, I had to wait three hours to get into my room. My room had a lock on it that nobody had a key too. I asked for a different one, they didn’t have any ones clean. Keycard was broke, so night attendant had to physically open every door every time someone needed to reenter their room. My second night, my keycard didn’t work. I think the security guard said he had to climb through the window to open my door. There were roaches in the bathroom and the room smelled of cigarettes. Was my favorite hotel, im so disappointed.

This hotel really should be shut down roaches were crawling on the wall and even in restroom, the smell was so bad in room until we actually had to go buy air freshener but it didn't help. They should be ashamed to charge over $80.00 for those dilapidated rooms. I wish I knew who to contact for a refund.

Worse reservation ever. Front desk clerk was nice enough but it went downhill immediately after that. Filthy with ROACHES. The roaches were a deal breaker for me. Red Roof is definitely off all future considerations for me. I was advised beforehand not to go with this choice, went with price, instead of reviews. I lost my payment for this room I was not sharing a room with filth and ROACHES

Last week on August 14th, I thought I would give HomeTowne Suites a try. The only reason was I couldn't find a place to stay & my roommate's house was being worked on. Well, the location was great, but my room was DIRTY! (And I mean dead & or crawling roaches dirty, too!) And on top of that, the key card system was down for the ENTIRE week I stayed. The manager with the braids apologized for the inconvenience it was causing, so she offered me 2 night's free for the problem. I accepted it, even I came close to canceling my reservation. Overall, what would've been a 1 star review, became a 3 star review. It'll be a long time before I book with HomeTowne Suites again. And IF I were to book with them again, that place has GOT to be in working order.

  • 4/5 Julia S. 8 months ago on Google
It was a rough start, but the manager turned it around. She’s very helpful and she is working to revamp this location. I have no doubt that she will be able to turn this place into a very nice place to stay.

Do not go to this dirty hotel. It smell bad and it's not clean I had a friend that went there and he said they had roaches all over the wall and the bathroom... There was no towels or trash can in the room he was in and he even video the roaches crawling everywhere.... Please save y'all money unless you like dirt and roaches

Rooms are filthy and infested with roaches, maintenance employee was threatening a woman in the hallway and acting very aggressive in her face. Even watched the same employee make a drug transaction later that night. Front office employees are useless, rude as can be, very unaccomadting towards guests. Nighttime security is very rude as well, really seems as if NONE of the employees want to be there. Saw very shady things take place including people taking things out of guest rooms and relocating the items into their own room. Wouldn't recommend at all

Unexpected Stay at Hometown Studios Louisville The room was different from what I typically see in hotels, it was set up as an extended studio. This was a new concept to me and it added a distinctive flavor to the place. However, the room's cleanliness didn't meet my expectations. The surroundings were less tidy than I'd prefer, and I had some unwanted encounters with cockroaches, which was quite a surprise. In retrospect, my stay at Hometown Studios Louisville was a bit of a mixed bag. I believe it's essential for future guests to understand the hotel's unique offerings before making a reservation. Pay attention to the room set-up, and consider inquiring about cleanliness standards to ensure a comfortable stay. My experience was a reminder that research prior to booking can make all the difference.

This place should not receive any stars. It was an unsafe environment people fighting and threatening to shoot to kill each other daily. Roaches everywhere ceiling microwave bathtub even in the toilet I've never seen a roach crawl in the toilet. I talked to the district manager who was not compliant I will be listing this with the better Business bureau better as a unworthy of guest

Quiet no nosey staff breathing down your neck. Liked the security guard feature they added for safety as we were in and out throughout the night. We requested a ground level room and they accommodated which made staying with small children a little smoother. Front desk were very professional and made the check in process less of a process. No complaints.

Place is starting to shape up, went through a rough patch for awhile but new staff is really starting to make a difference...The check in experience wasn't as bad as it used to be. The two ladies in the office Keep it funny and you can definitely feel the energy and enthusiasm which makes it warm and welcoming. Keep up the good work! I do plan on being back! Only bad thing I can see is more of the rooms need to be updated, other then that the rooms are the cleanest they've ever been!

The front desk and employees were sweet as hold! Loved them! But we didn’t have toilet paper to being with and the entire time we stayed there. The sheets hadn’t been changed so we requested new sheet to change ourselves!! We did see roaches and the towels are soooo thin honey you need 2 to dry off with. The only good thing about it was the cable tv! I swear to god you are living in the JUNGLE when you stay here. Like real deal war turf. Meaning just the minimum minimum they need to provide is all you get!

Well, I seem to be stuck here because my company has put me in a bad situation and btw even has me job hunting. Anyway, my feelings about this place go back and forth. Today is the 2nd day the internet has been down and it makes it extremely hard on the one's of us that are tryin to better ourselves and move up in the world instead of our into the streets. OK, so since I had prepaid for 3 night's, I'm still here and here's what I've observed. Although, I did see 3 roaches the 1st morning I woke up here, it wasn't like they were running rapid and obviously the hotel is on top of it because they have scheduled spray days, like today. I did take the sheets off of the bed and took them down to the laundry and with my own money I washed and dried them. Which is VERY expensive! There's been minor things but the staff (except 1) and most of the guests have been great. There's been a few that have played me for some help that I really didn't have to give but I did anyway and that hurt's my heart but is not the hotel's fault. It's been pretty quiet here and I would know since I'm a night person. The price I paid was hard to beat and I doubt that I'll find it again or I'd stay a couple of more day's. Anyway, so it's not as bad as the horror stories that I read and there's always room for improvement in any place people so chill 😊 Now, I just ckd in so this is all subject to change and although I would have loved to have had one of the corner rooms, I'll live. I've been standing here just reading all these reviews about bugs, things that are broken, mean staff, cleanliness etc.. So far the only things I've seen is the bedspread has a lot of burn holes in it, so do the counters and the floor, the dresser could have been cleaned a little better and when I went to pull back the covers to check the bed, I found a pony tail holder. How that was missed I'll never know. The staff that ckd me in was wonderful and it was nice to see someone in a good mood for a change 😊

After reporting my microwave almost caught fire. Took them a week and a half to replace. After several requests and phone calls. Roaches overestimate our first room. Safety outlets don’t work. Timer for the stove broken. Drugs being sold out of hotel. People drinking and carrying on to all hours. Now they are changing policy without notice. Charging a courtesy fee for all their trouble. Oh, wait. The free Wi-Fi. What a joke. Can’t stay connected for more than a few minutes. Red Roof customer relations can’t do anything because it’s a franchise. Wow. We are supposed to pay for things we don’t get here. You go in expecting to pay one price and get another. And your the bad guy for not just going along. Now we received a notice about the policy change. Effective immediately. What about those on a budget? No time to reorganize that way. 5 or 10 bucks a day isn’t much for most apparently. It is what could make me homeless. Thanks a lot Hometowne Suites. I guess I need to be one of the boys to live here. I would strongly advise seeking accommodations elsewhere. Unless, you want a lot of drug traffic. Homeless people wandering around. And everything breaking. Bug infested rooms await.

If i could give this place -0 stars i would. first, the keys hardly work and you’ll end up having to get a new set soon enough. the water was not hot and the rare times that it was, it only lasted maybe 2 minutes. the roaches had cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents, friends of family, ect with the amount the place had. the smoke alarm went off for no reason all the time. the internet is slower than an elderly person learning technology. the walls are so thin i could hear damn near every conversation the people next door were having. the stairwells were dirty, filled with trash all the time. NEVER stay at this place. it won’t be worth the money you’re paying

This is a Zero Star Hotel. We are a family of four who came into town for my son's birthday and planned to spend two nights. This place is by far the worst hotel experience I have ever had in my whole 34 years of life. We have never cared to stay in the cheaper places as long as they were clean and safe. This place provided neither. There were cockroachs crawling all over the walls and ceiling. The bathroom had what appeared to feces on the wall towards the ceiling. My 14 year old and I got very little sleep from being scared of these bugs getting on us. There was loud traffic all night. Clearly, drugs are being sold at this motel. We are asking for a refund today. We are currently sitting in the parking lot waiting for some one to come into the office so we can ask for a refund. No one will be in office until 11am. EDIT: If my family packs cockroaches home and we end up with an infestation, you will be sued. Not only was this a traumatic experience during our, miserable stay, if we have to continue to think and deal with this place and it comes home with us, you will answer to a judge for your misleading photos and the cost of exterminators to two different homes.

They don’t take cash, ok understandable. Even for the $50-100 deposit not listed anywhere. Get to my room, key card won’t work. Go all the way back three times just to get another room and the lady was nice thru all this. Not even five minutes into getting in the room, roach on the wall. Roach on my pillow. Babies on the walls. Packed up and left immediately. Of course no refund because of going thru third party site. But best is we didn’t get our deposit even offered back to us. DO NOT STAY HERE. the lady apparently copped an attitude with my partner when he addressed the bugs, but not me. He is heavily tattooed and to me, that felt very discriminating for her to treat him such a way and not me.
