I hosted a meeting at this hotel and I would not recommend this hotel to anyone looking at using their meetings room or their catering services. The meeting room was small and the projector screen was barely wide enough to cast an image wide enough to be equivalent to a 36" TV. It caused issues in our meeting and our attendee's ability to read the screen. It made for a less than effective meeting. Our lunch was $24 a person and consisted of the saddest taco bar I've ever seen. I very much wish I would have planned the time to take our lunch off-site. The taco shells were stale, the ground meat was Taco Bell quality, and the toppings were not fresh. It was embarrassing. I decided not to make an issue of it in front of our customers and to talk to the hotel management after getting back home. They used this against us, since I didn't bring this to their attention during the lunch, and said that they wouldn't consider any adjustment to our price but offered an amount of points that equates to about $7 (It is actually the points that we should have gotten anyway for booking the event). They don't seem to understand the realities of being a business traveler who hosts meetings and needs to attend to their customers during the meeting. Additionally, several of our guests arrive in the evening before our meeting, including myself, and were disappointed to find that restaurant closed at 9 pm. Many of our meeting attendees had to go back out and find dinner elsewhere and this hotel is in an odd place in the world's worst-designed business park. My advice is to stay downtown if you are a business traveler and especially if you are hosting a meeting.

The hotel has definitely seen better days. My pillows were so flat they felt as though they had been used a million times ! The breakfast while plentiful was not tasty. Something was just not right from the bacon, to the made to order omelettes, and even the oatmeal and this was expressed by everyone in my group. Much different taste than other Embassy suites I've visited. The staff and everyone was nice but hotel needs a bit more renovations and updating. Indoor pool is small and stayed crowded so I did not use.

Hotel is nice. The evening reception with complimentary appetizers and cocktails is awesome. Complimentary breakfast is also great. However, be aware this is a popular hotel for parents to host swim parties for their kids’ birthday. The night we stayed there was a birthday party with roughly 20 kids using the pool, the non paying guests made the pool next to impossible to use as there were lots of kids running around being super loud. Our room was on the 2nd floor and could hear the screaming from the pool in our room.

I wasn't impressed. On the ground floor, when checking in, the smells from the restaurant were nice. But, then going up the elevator trip the fifth floor the smell got worse and worse. On the fifth floor, it smelled like fertilizer when you got off the elevator. I think it's because the trash can next to the elevator never got emptied. The first morning after checking in, I put my takeout box in the bin between the two elevators. At the time it was sticking out so you could see it. That was on a Thursday. Saturday morning when I checked out, it was still there. The room itself was pretty dumpy. The sheets were stained, the bathroom floor was cracked. And you had to shoulder the door closed to be able to get into the bathtub. The bathtub that doesn't completely drain, because it, and the floor in the bathroom, are warped and leaning to one side. The A/C worked well, the sofa was clean, though the springs are worn out, so you really sink in it. I'm not slim at 200lbs, but no where near heavy enough that the couch would collapse under my weight. Also, don't get the hotel water. It's 10 cent water that they charge 2.50$ for. Would I stay here again? Maybe, if the rate is good, and they clean the floors, and put me in a room that isn't dilapidated with stained sheets on the bed; so, probably not. It's conveniently located to where I needed to be, but so are a lot of hotels. I think next time I'll try another in the area.

It was horrible. The elevator fell between the first and second floor. Imagine if it fell while I was on the 6 floor coming down. Then the pool was like I was about to take a ice bath, I know a pool is supposed to be cool but not cold as ice where the guests are shivering. I will never stay at that hotel again

I would recommend this hotel at a discounted rate like we got. The room was very comfortable and spacious. The amenities were great. The location is a little bit out of town, but I appreciate not having to deal with so much traffic down the road this can be found. In addition, I'm sure the breakfast was great. The coffee certainly was.

The first room we checked in to smelled of mold. The second room was very unclean with mold on the mattress supports and stains on the couch. This hotel is in a great location but needs a serious deep cleaning or remodel. The lobby/breakfast area is very nice and well kept.

Tried a new hotel this week on a work trip. Loved it from the time I walked in until I checked out. Already spiffed up for fall with hints of Bourbon country and fall decor, made me happy! The staff was super sweet, evening reception was perfect and breakfast was tasty with food offerings. My room was so nice and spacious, clean and ac was good too! I will continue to stay here from now on when I come to town!

Living in St. Louis and working out of Louisville, I thought I'd finally found a hotel in Louisville that met my needs. I was wrong. When I walked into the hotel there was an overpowering odor that brought to mind VOCs. They're currently undergoing an upgrade. tonight, I was put in an upgraded room and the smell from the carpet glue was so overpowering I could not sleep at all. There was drywall debris underneath the TV in the bedroom of this brand new renovated room. Toilet seat loose, shampoo, conditioner and body wash left on the sink not mounted in the shower, and absolutely no hot water in the shower. There was hot water at the bathroom sink enough for me to shave, so I don't understand why it couldn't make it to the shower after letting it run an additional 10 minutes. And this was at 1:00. A.m. I don't think anybody else was using water in the building. Really it's disappointing. Their breakfast set up is one of the best in Louisville. I wish I could have made it to breakfast. Goodbye.

My family had a 90-member family reunion at this venue and about 2/3rd of the family stayed at this hotel, including my family and me. I would not recommend this Embassy Suites to anyone for any event or to stay. It’s not comparable to other Embassy Suits I have had the pleasure of staying at in the local area or outside Louisville. Below are a list of cons and the only pro I can notate. Cons 1. BED BUGS- Four of our family members has reported being bitten by bud bugs which raised concerns of bringing an unwanted situation home. 2. ANTS- There were a line of ants stretching 40-50 feet from my room door to a 2nd floor window. I notified front desk, and it took over an hour to resolved. When checking out of our room, we found a few ants on the inside of our room near the pull-out bed where our 3-year-old was sleeping. 3. Hotel ran out of towels and was suggested that we purchase our own at a local grocery store. – The hotel staff was not prepared to handle the number of customers staying at this location. The hotel staff ran out of blankets, towels, and washcloths. When presented with the issue and asked front desk staff for a solution, it was suggested to our family that we travel to Meijer and purchase our own towels and washcloths for use. We were astonished and disappointed that this was the solution presented to us. I feel that coordinating with other Hilton brand hotels for extra items would have been the best solution to provide excellent customer service. Not asking customers to spend their own money so that they would not have to share towels. Unfortunately, some of our family members were forced to use towels and hand wash and dry for the next family member to us. 4. Décor- The furniture and décor are well overdue for an update. The lobby doesn’t present a luxury feel that is expected with the Embassy Suites brand and price tag. Leather chairs and couches were sticky and dirty, bedroom furniture was old, and bathroom needs a serious update. For reference compare these rooms to the downtown Louisville location. 5. Dirty Pool- Multiple family members reported the pool looked dirty and water was cloudy which means either poor filtration, low chlorine levels, or contaminants in the water. 6. Overall cleanliness - Many family members were disappointed with how clean their rooms were. Some family members had to ask for a change of room when they first arrived on property because of the lack of cleanliness. Our only Pro- Chef James and his staff were phenomenal. They were polite and attentive. Food was excellent and everything we had hoped for. Chef James personally check in on us and asked for feedback on his wings and food which was greatly appreciated. I have nothing but great things to say about Chef James and his staff.

Went on a Staycation/Date Experience over the weekend. Just have to say, research the property before coming. In an Business Industry Area, closed abandoned offices. Was told the rooms were being upgraded, but not informed that construction is going on. From 10 am to about 7 pm was the duration, sometimes even longer. Vibrations from drilling and hammering could be heard and felt in our room. Kids running around on all levels, outside the rooms. A whole gathering of people having potlucks and with an entire full bar brought with 20+ people in the lobby and sitting area. No way of enjoying the downstairs area. Not a great selection of restaurants, room overlooking shipping containers and construction trash. Staff isn't much help,

Let's talk about the room and the staff. The night shift and bartending staff was rude. The three girls at the front counter state they were busy whenever my family would call and ask for towels. They said we are in the midst of changing shifts when the one girl told me she was getting off at 1:00 A.M. Furthermore, the phone didn't work and the toilet didn't flush. They said a manager wasn't on duty so we had to become plumbers and do it ourselves each time of using the restroom. Bartending staff was short with customers and gave attitudes as if they didn't want to be there. I explained my experience to Caesar I believe it is his name.

Enjoyed my stay at this very nice hotel. Everything about my hotel was nice. Breakfast was good. The pool looked great even tho I didn't get the time to go swimming. I'd highly recommend staying here. It's almost luxurious. Well at least to me it is. It really is a good place. It's like I had my own little 1 bedroom apartment but instead of a stove I had a microwave. Which was cool with me as I really hate cooking. So that worked well with me heating up takeout.

Hotel has very cool vibe to it with the bar / grill being located inside in the lobby area. The entire lobby first floor was very lively most of the week with lots of different groups. The gym is small but works well enough depending on who's in there :), made to order omletes were delcious, and the room was very cozy and perfect for me. No complaints, will definitely come again.

Single worst hotel experience of my life. 1) My car was vandalized in the parking lot. Looks like somebody struck the side of it with a hammer. Gouged the paint to the metal and dented the door in. They have no exterior cameras or security in the parking lot, so there really isn't anything I can do about it. 2) When checking in, there was some confusion with our room. We had to wait while they sorted it out and they said they had to check the room to make sure it was ready. 3) After finally getting the room key, we carried all our stuff to the room and entered. The room was OCCUPIED!!! Yes, they gave us access to somebody else's room!!! This is a HUGE safety concern!!! 4) We carried all our stuff back to the lobby and told them the room was occupied. To our surprise, they said "yes, we know". Shocked and confused why they would give us access to an occupied room, we waiting for them to assign us to a different room. 5) We got a different room only to discover, the toilet flushing mechanism was old and would not refill the tank after flushing the toilet. It took 2 days for them to fix it so we could have a flushing toilet. 6) After 1 day, the AC broke because nobody has cleaned the coils in what looks like about 10 years of use.

The worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in! Went Labor Day! Elevator wouldn’t open or move. Tiny ice cold pool that had no chlorine in it and smelled of body sweat. Kids diving trying to hurt others. Mold smell, constant running water. Filthy floors And the breakfast was like old leather!! Horrible Horrible with rude staff and drunks in lobby all night long! My grandson is very sick from accidentally swallowing the water from a kid splashing him. DONT Stay there! Close it! Price should be $30.00 a Night

Update- this location continues to be more and more run down all the time. Sheets filled with holes, when you sit on the stain covered couch, you almost end up on the floor it sags so badly. This location definitely needs an update, and soon! Room was decently clean, but had a few maintenance issues- missing tile in the bathroom, stains on the couch, etc. Room was nice and large. Downfall to the way the hotel is set up with large space in the middle and rooms around the outside, is that it can be noisy and you'll hear a lot of things happening down in the lobby/bar/eating space.

This was our second year in a row staying here (this time was part of our honeymoon trip) and it was once again amazing!!! The entire team was incredibly professional, friendly and helpful from check-in to checkout! The entire Food and Beverage Team is awesome - especially Virginia and Amanda at breakfast… can’t wait to go back again next year when we are celebrating our 1st anniversary!!! Thanks for the awesome vacation memories!

This place can be amazing! I was there this pass weekend and I just have a few pointers you should consider when you stay here. The hotel has a opening as you walk in and all the rooms are surrounded by this opening. Every room you can walk out in the hall way and see the center of the hotel. It was very, very noisy everything echoes. All because the way its set up. A lot of children in the bar area with wet bathing suits . So the floor was wet. They have a wonderful happy hour from 5p-630p with free drinks, but the kids can come in the bar area at that time as well so you can't relax. It was also a lot of unattended small children (under the age of 10) running around, and laying in the halls. In my room the couch and chair is uninviting. Frayed fabric, sagging in the seats, and a light dingy look. As beautiful as my room was I can't believe that it hasn't been traded out. Rooms and hotel was very clean. Friendly, helpful, smiling, aiming to please staff. I think with all of those small considerations. It would make the hotel a lot more comfortable place to stay if you could get some sleep. But this is a very good hotel. Besides all the noise and all the kids unattended in the hallway and down in the center, making a lot of noise, and no one can do anything about it. I was going to ask for a refund because I didn't get any sleep for the whole time. That I was there. It was kind of 3 to 4 hours here and 3 to 4 hours there. I would just ask for 1 day of a refund. Cause we stayed 2 days, but they were busy when we were leaving and i could not voice this. I feel like my stay could've been better. But thank you're staff, they are amazing, and your hotel is beautiful. P.S all the food was amazing as well!!!

Had a 54 year reunion of old Army buddies. We traveled From Florida. We arrived to see friendly staff, comfortable & tasteful surroundings. Our room (suite) was well equipped. Decent sized small fridge, microwave, and coffeemaker in the hallway. Desk & 2 comfy chairs in front room with big screen tv's in front room & bedroom. King size bed & fluffy, soft pillows with room darkening curtains. Never swam in pool but saw children having a good time in it. The managers' social hour was so much fun. 2 free drinks, (certain liquors) & salty snacks with plenty of sitting room for our group of 40+ seniors as well as other guests. There is a type of snack bar if you want to purchase a quesadilla, some wings, or a burger, etc. ,but only during social hour.Elevator was helpful for those with mobility issues. Breakfast was "the bomb". Best omelet ever! Also, a well stocked breakfast bar with everything else. Well worth the long trip & reasonably priced for the service & amenities. Hope to visit again next year.

My one night bus excursion was fun and topped off wonderfully by my overnight stay at Embassy. There was nothing missing from their breakfast bar. The food was amazing.

We've stayed at this property for the last few years when traveling but this hotel needs some love, cleaning, attention and updates. They were extremely understaffed. We were told on check-in that daily room service was not available and only on request. We requested service on day 2 but the maid never came and service was not available by the time we returned to the room late that evening. The breakfast which is normally very good was subpar at this visit. We ordered omelets and items were added that we didn't request or left out that we did request and they were served open with unmelted cheese thrown on top. The diet soda machine would only dispense clear liquid one morning and was syrup with no carbonation on the other mornings. The room itself was full of mystery stains and dirty. We noticed we kept coughing/sneezing every evening when we returned and found black mold on the bathroom sliding door. The shower was almost impossible to use since there was a 5in area in the far corner of the tub where you could get under the spray and despite appearing to be removable it was stationary. We walked down to the front desk multiple times to request assistance/items and only found a sign stating they had stepped away and would return shortly. We gave up. We do not plan to stay at this property again after this experience.

I don't have many complaints about my stay or service my room was clean upon arrival my towels fresh plenty of parking and I liked the breakfast. I did find that my pull out bed was broken and there were no extra blankets for it and room service tried to rush me to check out she was very rude kept coming back 2 hours before checkout. She never cleaned my room during my stay but wanted to rush me out The other things I think need improvement are the carpets in the halls and the pool. I chose not to use it because it's small and looked cloudy. An update is definitely needed there but everything else was great. The staff was amazing for the most part and nothing happened to my car in the lot.

The staff were all very pleasant, large clean rooms, good breakfast offering with omelet station. Meeting room was perfect size and staff responded to needs very quickly. Great place.

This is my 2nd time starting at this particular location. It's always clean and the staff has always had great customer service. The manager went out of his way to help with our booking. And don't let me forget the breakfast. It was amazing once again. We have not been disappointed yet. I recommend the stay and we will definitely be staying again in the future.

This hotel takes good care of it's guests. They are willing and quick to take care of any problems or needs that are brought to their attention. The bed was comfortable, the room and everything in it was clean. The only problem we had that they couldn't fix was that the pool was cloudy. In the end, they gave us bonus Hilton honors points as compensation.

This hotel was GREAT! Free breakfast, free happy hour, and a solid indoor pool. We were there with 2 kids and everything was clean, safe, and inviting. The hotel is location in a great area about 15 minutes from city center, and about 30-45 from a number of distilleries (depending on where you're going).

We arrived on a Sunday afternoon. The staff were very helpful and the room very clean and comfortable. The bartender at the evening reception was great. Only goldfish bags for appetizers. Not what we expected after staying at other embassy suites. Our room only had one glass. We were told they couldn’t give us another one because guests have broken them. They suggested we try to get another one at the bar. Bartender was most accommodating. The real disappointment (the reason we chose this hotel) was the restaurant. It was not open and wouldn’t be until Tuesday. After a long drive who wants to go out again? No where on the website did it give this information. I’d call the next time to check. The breakfast was excellent!! Lots of choices.

Loved the layout of the suite, the front sitting room is nice and large and the furnishings looked like new. Beds were clean and comfy! I especially liked the pool, it was well maintained and adequately heated, even though it was quite frosty outside!

This property is well equipped for families or business travelers. Both appeared common here. The rooms were a little dated and in need of renovations. The layout is the typical 90s Embassy properties with a large atrium and rooms opening into the atrium area. It sits in the middle of a 90s era office park as well, but plenty of food options down Hurtsbourne or towards St. Matthews, about 5-10 minutes away. Common areas were well kept and staff were all very friendly and welcoming. I would definitely consider staying here again if back i. Louisville for business.

We recently stayed here one night with our child’s sports team. We did not use any of the common areas or eat breakfast. Our room was clean and the beds comfortable. The reason this is a 1 star review is because our non-smoking room, room 600, started smelling like cigarette smoke around 1:30am. We were woken up by the smell. It did not smell like cigarette smoke when we arrived that evening around 5pm or later when we were getting ready for bed. I assume it was coming through the ventilation system. Turning the heat off and the fan off didn’t help. The smell would lessen and then get stronger again, and that carried on until about 4:30am when the smell only lingered but didn’t get stronger. I didn’t bother saying anything to the staff because there wasn’t a solution to this. Our child was able to fall back asleep fairly quickly, but my husband and I did not until around 4:30am. We had to leave at 7am, so there was no point going through the hassle of changing rooms when we first noticed it. Don’t stay in room 600 if cigarette smoke bothers you. I saw another review that mentioned a 6th floor room that also smelled of smoke, so if it bothers you, it is probably worth it to avoid that floor.

The area this hotel is located is a corporate campus, so it's fairly quiet. Rooms were newer and seem to be updated. Free made to order breakfast is a HUGE bonus. Easily a 4 star hotel but not quite at the 5 star level. I will be back when in the area.

This hotel is old and disgusting. Staff told us it hasn't been updated in 22-23 yrs open. We had to change room bc 1st room sofa bed(stained couch)was broken. Had it been truly made and cleaned, housekeeping should have seen mattress on the floor.Changed rooms. New room had a stained sofa, toilet that wouldn't flush and a shower that wouldn't drain. Had to use lobby restroom. Told would start renovation soon. Needs to close to do full renovation. We moved hotels...many nicer hotels in area.

Love the rooms, atrium, and complimentary breakfasts. Friendly staff, especially the man who worked evenings in the bar and restaurant area. The evening reception needed better snacks and enough to last the time period.

This hotel is a nice place to stay, the rooms are beautiful and clean. The breakfast every morning is very good with lots of options and made to order items. There is a "Manager's Reception" every evening with bar type food and free drinks. This is a nice place to stay.

The kids had a ball! My main complaint is the furniture in the rooms need to be replaced. The hotel has been there 20 or 21 years and the furniture looks like it has been there that long too. The sofa bed was very uncomfortable, sunken down in the middle and high on the sides. The refrigerator was struggling too. The bathroom still looks great! Breakfast was good. They give free drinks everyday between 5 and 6:30 which was wonderful. Overall an okay stay.

Amazing stay as always, rooms(primarily bathrooms) could use updates. Everything else was superb, nice building and quiet little area. Still plenty nearby but not in the heart of downtown. Will visit again and recommend it to all who visit.

  • 5/5 Keith 1 year ago on Google
The rooms were very nice sized. The hotel is located in a pretty quiet area away from the city, but close enough to visit when you are ready. The only complaint that I have is the pool temperature. My daughter loves to swim in hotel pools, but this one was very chilly. I would assume that it was not heated until we were getting ready to get out (due to being too cold) when we noticed that the jets were blowing warm water. It wasn't enough for us to change our mind about getting out of the pool. That was the only reason I chose to stay one night here before moving over to the hotel we had in the center of the city with no pool for a night. It was also humorous that the sign listed the max swimmers at 5 when it is a pretty large pool. Another annoying thing was that both key-cards stopped working around 9AM on the day of checkout. My digital key still worked, but both cards stopped working about the same time which leads me to think that they were deactivated.

The Room was clean but unfortunately the pull out couch was completely broken and falling through its original supports. There was no pillows or blankets for that couch and when my wife asked for a pillow she was brushed off. She was able to obtain a blanket. We stay in hotels that have breakfast in the morning because that's the most important meal for our kids. Unfortunately that not even edible. The biscuits and gravy smelled like sewage and the eggs not much better. The kids did like the pool. Lastly, the shower was so hard to turn on I had to come in and turn on everyone shower for them because it was too hard for them to even turn the knob.

Embassy Suites properties are some of my favorite of all the Hilton Hotels and this one is no different. This property is very conveniently located to shopping and restaurants, and even gyms if you have universal access to some of them. The hotel gym is sufficient enough but going to my own gym is just a personal preference when I travel. Staff is friendly. I definitely recommend this property.
