As soon as you walk through the doors You are greeted with a poorly kept front facade, then as you walk in you smell a sewage type smell, which Noone will admit to since they have smelled it so long its permeated their senses. The rooms are OK, but the smell follows you throughout. Be careful in the parking lot as dogs use it as a bathroom. Maybe if they had a designated area with trash bags, this would not happen. Please enjoy these wonderful pics outside to delight you.

This place is great! It is CLEAN! It is New!!! Walking distance to the mall or Whole foods! I literally picked this location since I knew bad weather was going to shut down my home airport for the next 24-48 hours. Great location! Sorry I forgot to take a photo before I settled into the room! I'll try and add some photos later when I venture out of my room.

We booked 3 nights, and we're checking out after the first one! We had a very bad experience here. First of all, the front desk person was so rude and not welcoming at all that he didn't know anything about hospitality!! His name was Dayton I guess! He didn't even smile! We're Dimond members for 3 years now and we stayed most of the year in hilton hotels and we always get upgrades we asked him for a king bed room he said no we're sold out and then we went through the app and we found one available for booking! 30 minutes later after checking in this room another guest opened the door saying this is her room!! So they gave her the same room they gave us!! How is this acceptable! I tried connecting to the Wifi so I entered the room details and it showed that the room number and the last name are wrong! Everything here is missed up we will check out in the early morning. This is so wrong 😔 We spent most of the year in hilton hotels because we travel a lot but this one was a complete disappointment. We're not coming here again and I don't recommend this place at all.

Clean, nice hotel. Only complaint is the breakfast is a joke. 16 bucks for the "buffet" which includes very little...if you want something very basic like bacon it's extra. I've had many complimentary breakfasts at other hotels that were much better

Not familiar with this Hilton brand. No info at check in. No information at lobby open eating area that buffet breakfast was $16/ person. Most items gone at 815a. Had to ask for scrambled eggs. Person who checked us in had no ID visible. New to Hilton Honors gold program, but this is first location in last 4 stays that didn't offer us a complimentary bottle of water and snacks upon check-in. I was informed at check-out that no Hilton Garden inn provides complimentary breakfast. I will try to stick with Embassy Suites in the future. I felt welcomed there.

Very modern establishment. The entrance was very welcoming as well as the big guy at the front desk. Room was spacious and clean. Would stay here again.

Hilton Garden Inn is a definite five-star hotel experience! The rooms are spacious, clean, and beautifully appointed. The staff is friendly, attentive, and ensures a comfortable stay. The amenities, including a well-equipped gym and delicious breakfast options, add to the overall satisfaction. Highly recommended for a luxurious and enjoyable stay!

The breakfast is atrocious, minimal, and way over priced. I have seen complimentary breakfasts that taste way better. $27 for one adult and one child (9). The coffee was burnt. The pastries were stale. Prices are higher than compared to local competition. The gentleman working the front desk earned the stars, single handedly. He was very kind when checking us in for the stay. And when when the people above us stayed up past midnight, he handled it promptly and brought us a fan to drown the noise. The front

When I arrived, I didn't think there was anyone working at the desk. It turned out the person in sweat pants and a T-shirt lounging in the chairs with a friend and eating was who helped when I requested my key. Not at all what I expected from the brand. Very unprofessional. Room was fairly clean, but bathroom could have used some help. Lots of hair in the shower and even on towels, that was not mine. Unfortunate, because the hotel seems new and like it would be top notch.

I purchased a ticket from Kayak, but was in a hurry and bought it for the evening I was making the reservation and not the next day. When I tried to change the date after getting my confirmation email I tried to change the date but no one answered the phone or any emails. I called Hilton but they said since it was a third party booking and non refundable there was nothing they could do. For a little mistake I was out $300.00 for the two rooms I booked. Finally I got ahold of Kayak, which isn’t really Kayak anymore and was told too bad . I then tried Hilton again to plead my case and was told too bad. I then had to pay again for a room at a slightly higher rate, assuming that a breakfast was included when I checked in and asked what time so they open. Nope, you guessed correctly no breakfast for me or my other guest. I wish that things weren’t so money driven and unaccommodating. Please do the Dollar vote and stay somewhere else. Thanks for reading this..

I have worked in international hospitality and tourism for many years. I can't comment on staying here. My review is reserved for my unusual experience in the lobby with the Sales Manager. We were talking about business, or at least we were trying. Apparently, an employee decided to share a video with a colleague at the front desk. The Sales Manager, during our conversation, yelled back to ask if the guy was deaf. I am not. I was sitting 3 feet from her. The other guest could hear as well. It was shouted twice. Of course, the person who it was aimed at ( I felt embarrassed for him) tried to make a joke. I did not help much. If this person is in leadership, I must assume she is not the force behind the more favorable reviews for this establishment. For anyone that is actually hearing impaired, could do without that comment. That said, the type of person she is came through loud and clear. You get up from that meeting and walk across the lobby like you are in a Hilton and not on a tobacco farm. It amazes me she is the one responsible for winning and maintaining new business. I thought the Hilton brand was better. Maybe they took a hit in labor too.

Room was good, nothing to write home about but certainly better than other rooms in the area. Cleaning crew refused to take trash when it was sit outside the room, for over 24 hours. We put the do not disturb sign on the door (even though there is signage in the room stating they won't come by unless you explicitly request service), yet they still knocked in the morning asking if we'd like service (while still ignoring the trash can we sat out to be changed). At check in (late Thursday night) the receptionist was amazing. However, every other interaction was less than preferred. When asking any questions (regarding wedding room blocks, services, local area, etc.) the person at the desk seemed as though they were too busy focusing on breathing to fathom a helpful response. When booking online we were asked about including breakfast, however at check in it seemed that wasn't required. If there was some sort of benefit, it wasn't expressed as to why I'd pay extra for something that I'd have to pay for anyways (ordering from the "grill" vice the buffet). It's a new hotel so I'm sure there are some kinks to work out, but being a national brand I'd expect some of those kinks to be worked out by now.

DOORDASH delivery drop off, from Hooters! Excellent experience, very clean, very posh and upscale. Love talking to the security staff, makes a man appreciate social situations that you can talk and make it small. It was a pleasure. Five stars

Beautiful hotel. Very very clean, friendly staff, always willing to help, they don't "over book here" witch definitely makes 5 stars, booked on line , rooms are fantastic, very (roomy), was definitely 100% impressed, way to go y'all. Definitely book there again in the future.

I already noticed this hotel when i was doing my weekly grocery. Lived in Louisville for months (2years ago), and now that i dont, i ended up staying here. We only stayed for the night and didn't really get to enjoy the amenities. We chose it for the location, and that gets 5 star. Place was clean and they allow dogs. They also had a small area for dogs and provided doggy bags. We had a little hiccup checking in since we booked through our CC website, the same day. But the staff was helpful and found the solution ( and helped) for us. My only complaint was that one of the bed squeaks and shower drainage might be clogged. I totally forgot to mention it to them. I didn't bother calling since we were staying only for one night. Also, I was able to request with late check out with no problem and no extra payment.

The hotel itself is nice, which is to be expected considering how new it is. The room was spacious and clean, as was the rest of the place. I am docking 2 stars on this review. One is for the fact that the pool was closed the 2 days I stayed there, it should have mentioned on the website the pool was closed until further notice. I chose this hotel over another solely because of the indoor pool. The other star I am docking because of the breakfast situation here. Either include a breakfast or don't. If you are going to charge for a breakfast it better be damn good. This morning, none of the staff came in to cook, so it was cereal. $30 for some cereal and milk is a bit overboard, especially when the room is already over $200 a night. I won't stay at another Hilton that has a breakfast policy like this.

Too many fees; breakfast not included expensive very basic. Parking fee why no security at all? Water bottle $3. No one was at the desk when arrived computers were down etc. Tv cable was garbage mostly news networks. Good area clean rooms

The location is good. We've been staying here since it opened. Unfortunately, the quality of service has gone down. The included breakfast is so bad. The eggs and shriveled sausage are pathetic and the staff interaction is poor. Most Hampton Inns have a better food experience than this hotel. Management needs to take a hard look at their operations.

Water was shut down all day, no word when it would be back up, no mention of this when I booked. Pool was shut down too, one of the only things I was looking for. Small room for the price. Breakfast was not included, they put $3 bottles of water in your room, surprised they didn't charge you for breathing their air.

The location couldn't be any better! It's a nice area with everything you could need within walking distance. Movie theater, mall, grocery stores, craft stores, restaurants...The staff are really friendly and the rooms are always nice and clean. Every time I'm stationed in Louisville for work, this is where I stay!

WARNING: Breakfast is not complimentary. You will be charged for eating breakfast. Simple scrambled eggs and Buffett was $13.36. They do not share this at check-in.

Check in person was extremely uncouth and unhelpful. Not a great combination. The hotel was nice, but the rooms smelled funky, sheets also didn't smell that good. I tried to call the front desk but I couldn't get ahold of anyone in the hotel no matter which number I dialed! After checking out I noticed they charged me for breakfast which was to be included as part of my company's arrangement, and when I called them back I spoke to the same girl who made me feel as if I was disturbing her nap time and she was to send me an amended receipt, but it was incorrect. I then attempted to call the 1-800-Hilton line and after being on hold for 9 minutes, was hung up on by another person who didn't seem all that willing to assist. I'll be reconsidering being an honors member, and would certainly not go back to this hotel. There are plenty of other options.

The hotel is really great , the room was very comfortable , modern and clean. Overall my stay was enjoyable with one exception which was the waiters at breakfast who were unwelcoming and pretty rude.

When you stay at a Hilton Garden hotel you can expect nice, clean, warm, classy service. If you’re staying for a night or longer you can count on the hotel staff to be friendly, helpful and pleasant. Whenever we stay at a Hilton Garden expectation is high and they never let you down. 5 + stars.

Stayed here for a weekend soccer tournament February 2023. The hotel was clean and my daughters and I felt safe. Location was super convenient. The only two things I would comment on was that when I tried to was jerseys and asked the front desk for change for the laundry machines they said they had no change which was odd. Also the pool wasn’t seemingly heated which was a minor inconvenience. Otherwise fantastic hotel and I would book again!

Hotel was very clean. The bedding was comfortable. The front desk person was friendly and helpful. Check in and out was quick. One of the best hotel experiences I have ever had. I would definitely choose this chain again.

Clean and comfortable Hilton Garden Inn. The employees are friendly. For all of the complaints I read online I have to say I was pleased with my stay. The pool was nice. There is a fitness center with dumbbells from 5 to 50 pounds in five pound increments. There is also a Recumbent bike a couple of elliptical steppers and a couple of treadmills. For those complaints regarding the price of breakfast. It was made to order and delicious. I plan on staying here again in the future even though the bathroom in the room lacked adhesive ducks 🦆:).

My room was dirty from the previous guest. Spoiled dried sticky stuff on the floor, confetti stuck in the drains, confetti actually in one of the beds. I was here on business and I would not come here on m my own dollar after this experience. I went to the front desk and they said they would have the room cleaned. The sticky stuff is still on the floor 3 days later, confetti still in sink and tub drain, confetti under the bed as if they just shook out the sheet and put it back. Very disappointed.

I am a diamond member who booked a 6 night stay. I completed a digital check in and got my room(402) and they charged my card. They checked me out and gave my room away. I got to the hotel at 1:30am 10/19 from a late flight, and was going straight to my room only to find out that I had to get walked. They walked me to the nastiest hotel I’ve ever stayed in. When did Hilton start walking diamond members? The night auditor told me to just come back in the morning and afternoon and get reinstated. Guess what? They tell me he should’ve booked my hotel for the rest of my stay at the nasty hotel he sent me too. I am disgusted with the lack of communication and lack of appreciation for a loyal Hilton member, and former employee. My Diamond guests would have never even heard those words come out my employees mouth. Do better.

Super clean, love the rooms - very spacious. Love that the carpet is only under the beds so the floor is actually clean! Just really, really nice.

Flight cancelled due to 2 flat tires on plane. Delta & SW: So very sorry - here's your money back or credit & here's some extra miles for your trouble. Avis: Very sorry that happened - no problem - we won't charge you. Hilton Garden Inn at St. Matthews: Too bad -we're going to charge you for one night, anyway. Can I have the name of the general manager? Nope. We're going to set up a case file and have a protracted process, so you'll hopefully forget about this. But thanks for being so loyal to our brand all these years... How this hotel has responded tells me everything I need to know about their business ethics. Let's see your copy/paste reply...

Nice, clean, well appointed rooms. Excellent, friendly staff (especially breakfast waitstaff and front desk staff). Outstanding breakfast buffet and Bacon! Also, nice, walkable location with plenty of shopping and dining options nearby.

Planned my family reunion stay at this hotel. We booked 23 rooms for three days, and two nights. The rooms were magnificent. The entire space was terrific. The staff was kind and friendly. Breakfast was amazing! All our needs were taken care of. If your not staying downtown the Hilton St. Matthews has the best location. Everything you would want is around the corner.

Majority of the staff is courteous and professional as well as being very helpful...but there's always one that ruins it for everybody...rendered the greeting of the day to the front desk agent she was truly a crabass...EVERYONE but this older Caucasian female provided outstanding customer service (kitchen staff, housekeeping, front desk agents)

We booked this hotel for my friends wedding. As members of the bridal party we were happy to find a hotel close to the wedding. Problems started right away and didn’t stop until after check out. First off we were promised the wedding block rate for the rooms, but were charged for the original rate. I had to ask 3 different front desk workers to even talk their manager. It took demanding for the manager when we were checking out of our 4 day stay for them to actually do something. On the first night due to the paper thin walls in the hotel room the person next to us pounded on the wall and verbally threatened us. When this was brought up to the front desk employee they did not care and were completely dismissive about my concerns and worries about our safety. The staff were extremely rude and careless. I would never stay at this hotel again and deeply regret telling the bride to block rooms for her wedding.

I have never felt more like a 5 star guest and more taken care of then dealing with Emma at the front desk of the Hilton Garden Inn in Louisville, KY. She was professional, polite and overly accommodating. I would recommend this place to not only complete strangers but also my friends and family because I know they will be treated with the upmost respect and care. The rooms were clean, the breakfast good and the atmosphere unrivaled. Shout out to Emma for being a rock star in a industry were impersonality reigns. Would stay here again in a hertbeat.
