The amount of disrespect I just got from an employee is astronomical. I go to Heine brothers almost everyday. Today I went to a different one and this female employee literally was so rude I cannot comprehend it. I will never go to this location again. If you want to be disrespected, I highly recommend this location!

I miss the days when this was a small company that took care of their customers and employees. They continue to grow and become more and more corporate. Every one of their locations used to be a reflection of the community they were in. Now if you experienced one you experienced all of them. Might as well go to Starbucks. If you want a genuine coffee house I would recommend Sunergos or Bean.

Coffee would be a lot, lot better if I didn't see staff so visibly ill during a covid outbreak. amid hearing that staff are getting fired for something they can't help getting, now they have to get us sick as well.

The ladies at the drive thru window were super awesome. Unfortunately the syrup/flavors the company uses in the coffee is not very good, to me. I didn't end up drinking it.

The coffee is good. So are the scones. It's atmosphere is not of a cozy place that comes to mind when you think coffee house. High warehouse ceilings, inefficient counters that confuse where to pick up an order, are unfortunately laid out. Still, worth a visit as there are better options, but certainly also worse ones.

Nice. More people chilling than I would expect given the location. Heine brothers is like Starbucks a decade ago before they expanded too much.

I don't drink coffee but I usually get there smoothies. But today I ordered a smoothie with a wrap and their wraps are horrible and burnt. It look like a regular taco shell that's been toasted real hard on one side it's not even a wrap and it's like $7 which wouldn't be bad if it actually was better than this.

First time at this location and most likely my last... The two stars is for the food. It was hot and flavorful. Nothing was made fresh there no big deal. Chet informed me that they know nothing about the app so when i placed my app order i was charged 3x and they werent able to refund my money. So i had to take 3 of the same things. Chet was super friendly but had no clue what was in the eggbites. The shorter girl was quite rude and tried to say i didnt pay for 3 orders even though i showed her my receipts and chet showed her the 3 print outs. Ill stick to the coffee. Train ypur staff!

I used to have a glowing review of Heine Brothers on here. But in the past year our city has learned that Heine Brothers' doesn't apply their fair trade ethics to the people that brew and serve their coffee. Heine Brothers' staff has consistently been fantastic every time I've been to a location. But their coffee isn't really fair trade when the workers handing it to you don't make enough to support themselves and their families. Perhaps my opinion of Heine Bros will change again for the better, if their ownership starts cooperating with the hard-won union that their workers created. Until then, Old Louisville Coffee is a great, worker-owned coffee shop, and I suggest we all take our caffeine needs there.

This is my favorite H bros. I hold a support group every month and they are always very patient when I order my Joe to go for the meeting at the last minute. I never have to wait too long and it's a go-to spot for me and my wife cause it's right next to King Donuts.

This is such an adorable coffee shop, and I love how they have spritzer energy drinks… I got the Lavender Lotus with extra caffeine. Great staff - super friendly and helpful!

Idk about you but I live me some Heine Brothers! This location is great, zero complaints, if you're looking for a local staple for your coffee, you have come to the right place. All of the coffee is certified organic and so very delicious. I love a good iceberg in the summer. Try it out! My personal favorites are the dirty Chi, or I request a banana Chi-berg with expresso. fr, it tastes like chocolate. The turmeric Chi is very good, their breakfast burritos are awesome and dont even get me started on the cinnamon roll 🥰. never disappointed when I come to Heine Brothers. (Way better than Starbucks!)

Food is okay, love the biscuity scones. Coffee is great. Internet has been out for over a week, so I'm giving three stars for that. I work/study from this coffee shop, so I've had to go elsewhere several times this semester due to internet issues.

Heine Brothers' Coffee in Louisville has firmly planted its roots as an iconic local destination that not only serves up exceptional coffee, but also fosters a commendable commitment to ethical sourcing. Their dedication to procuring the finest organic and fair-trade beans is evident in every sip, creating a unique and gratifying experience for the discerning coffee enthusiast. Each cup is a testament to their passion, filled to the brim with rich, full-bodied flavor, carefully balanced notes, and a crisp finish that sets them apart from the competition. The ambiance of Heine Brothers’ encapsulates the charm of Louisville, echoing the warmth and authenticity the city is known for. This is a place where you're always greeted with a smile, and the baristas are knowledgeable, taking the time to personalize each order. But it's not just the quality of their coffee that stands out; their commitment to sustainable and ethical practices radiates throughout the business, making each visit a guilt-free pleasure. In an era where conscious consumerism is increasingly important, Heine Brothers’ has proven to be a beacon of hope. All in all, this coffee shop is an exemplar of a perfect brew served with a side of responsibility.

I have been to this location many times. I order a drink and chill. I noticed immediately that the couch was missing. The barista said it was taken out just an hour ago. As a frequent patron who needs cushioned seats (not those hard-seat chairs) for lower-back problems, I may have to start going to Sunergos on Preston instead where they have old, comfortable furniture and area rugs that make the place feel extra cozy; sadly, HB is losing their ambience. There are only two cushioned chairs in the coffee shop now, which are often taken!! Not happy at all now. 🤔

Very disappointing as I don't get a chance to stop in for a good cup of coffee at Heine Brothers very often due to no HB stores around my home. My disappointment was with trying to pay with the app as I had money remaining on my account and I have always had the auto recharge options enabled. Evidently their was a change in the app and I nor any of the staff could get the app to access my money on my account. The manager said it was a recent change and that none of them had the knowledge to help with the problem and that I would have to take it up with corporate. Luckily I had a credit card on me to pay for my order. I'm not happy as I asked several times whether I am just losing the loaded money on my account and was informed that I would have to take it up with corporate. Yes, very unhappy with HB.

McDonald's was closed, Dunkin' donuts was closed, this was the third place on my search for coffee third my normal routine I got a sweet tea and a caramel coffee with cream n sugar. The tea have an odd flavor but I think it was possibly organic pure black pekoe with no orange pekoe blended.. if that's the case then the tea was rather weak. The coffee was delicious and I'm only unhappy because I didn't get 2.

Excellent coffee. Great scones! Cinnamon rolls are worth a try as well.

Do you guys keep all three types of breakfast burritos in one big heap, all unlabeled? Because I get handed the wrong one almost every time I go through the drive thru. Imagine being vegan and biting into a sausage burrito. I'm not vegan but sure have received the vegan meat burrito twice and the sausage one a few times when I always ask for bacon. This has been at this location as well as the one in Floyd knobs. It's such a waste of my time to have to go back or I have to eat something I don't like, and though they replace my burrito, it doesn't account for the time and gas wasted to have to go back.

Coffee was so good but my breakfast biscuit was literally frozen, we ordered in the drive thru so we had already left on our trip by the time I noticed. Extremely disappointed after spending almost $7 on it.

  • 1/5 Zachary B. 1 year ago on Google
Couldn't hear through the drive-thru speaker so I ordered at the window. I asked for heavy cream in my Americano ... got something that tasted like the weak-boiling hot coffee I used to get for Army field breakfast in the infantry and NO CREAM. Didn't take a drink until I was already on the road and too far to take it back. Disappointed to say the least.

We were hopeful for some delicious local coffee and sandwiches as advertised. Unfortunately, that was not our experience. Coffee was a step above Folgers and the “sandwiches” were packaged, stale and full of preservatives. I could get better stuff at an airport

I went in looking for a blended coffee and this place is my new favorite coffee shop! I had the beehive iceberg it’s made with honey and cinnamon oh my goodness the best blended I’ve ever had! It’s not too sweet the perfect flavor and perfectly blended! The inside is super cute too! A great spot to have a coffee and relax :)

Locally owned, A1 coffee...probably the best I've had. I had a Chai iced coffee with turmeric and oat milk. This is back home in Kentucky. I wish I could take them to Florida. Hands down, best coffee in town, friendly Staff and nice anesthetics...beautiful, calm and peaceful scenery.

So good! In Louisville for the weekend and needed a coffee fix, lucked out and found this place near on Google. Delicious! So smooth, not bitter or too strong like some places can be. And having a drive through is a huge plus.

I'm deeply disappointed to share my recent experience with Heine Brothers Schnitzelburg/Germantown location. While I've always enjoyed their beverages, I can no longer support a business that prioritizes profits over the well-being of its employees. It has come to my attention, through word of mouth of another employee (who I will not name, as I fear for their employment being on the line for this also), that Heine Brothers has a troubling practice of wrongfully terminating employees who seek proper coverage for their shifts due to illness, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic. It is alarming to learn that employees who responsibly take time off when sick, especially with a contagious virus like COVID-19, are met with termination rather than support and understanding from their employer. This sends a clear message that Heine Brothers values their bottom line more than the health and safety of their staff and customers. No employee should ever feel pressured to work while ill, especially in an environment where they handle food and beverages. By punishing those who prioritize their health and the safety of others, Heine Brothers is creating a toxic work culture that puts everyone at risk. I cannot in good conscience support a company that would rather have its employees work sick around food and beverages than allow them to stay home and rest. I have never worked for a company that has put my well-being and livelihood at risk, as well as the health of my customers at risk by being forced to work over other people's sustenance. I cannot describe this as anything other than a biological hazard and "disturbing" doesn't even come close to describing this practice they have set in place. I have been a loyal customer to several locations of Heine Brothers for years. However, until Heine Brothers demonstrates a genuine commitment to the well-being of its employees, I will be taking my business elsewhere. I will also be urging my friends, family and colleagues to do the same and I WILL BE cross posting this review to multiple platforms to allow consumers to be fully knowledgeable of the company they are supporting. Consumers should be aware of what this company does behind closed doors to the very people that keep customers smiling and returning time and time again. This company must not know that you should not bite the hand that feeds you. And without your friendly and upbeat employees, you would have no customers. You would be nothing. And if you continue these disgusting practices of causing employees to fear that they are one illness away from unemployment, you are guaranteed a fast track, one way ticket to just that. You will be NOTHING. I will also take the time to echo the sentiment of the other most recent review and urge you to take your patronage to another local, small business. I would recommend Bean coffee shop for starters if you need a personal suggestion. As far as I am concerned, they treat their employees with dignity, respect, and like human beings serving the public. Not farm animals, serving a corporation and lining the pockets of the greedy who don't believe in allowing the sick to rest and recuperate so they may continue to thrive for their business.

I came in the other afternoon for a small coffee after running some errands all day, and it was a genuinely crazy to me that it seemed a few of the baristas were feeling/looking really under the weather. It’s concerning that they were even made or allowed to work their shift if they were so noticeably feeling under the weather and then tasked to make customers’ FOOD and DRINKS still!!! While there, I asked if one of my favorite baristas I had become acquainted with from my frequent visits was there so I could say ‘hey.’ Come to find out, they had been fired for their lack of attendance due to recently catching covid. It’s legitimately insane to me that the Schnitzelburg Heine Bros are firing their employees for being conscious about their health and the health of others, and then forcing other, obviously sick, employees to continue to work. I’m so frustrated for the workers there, and and to all the people who are being affected by the obviously poor management that’s going on over there. To be honest, I’m not sure if or when I’ll be going back to Heine Bros, ESPECIALLY to this location.
