My husband and I used Sweet Surrender for our wedding cake. We had three tiers: carrot, lemon, Manhattan chocolate. We received so many compliments on how tasty it was! Also, they did a wonderful job decorating it! Photo: Rach Loves troy, Florals: Denizen, Venue: Hazelnut Farm

What a cute bakery! They have some gorgeous cakes and a lot of fun sweets. My partner had high praises for the tiramisu trifle. I love their mystery bag concept--it's a good chance to try a few things they offer, and the discount mystery bag I bought was only $10! Their chocolate raspberry cake is VERY rich, good to share because it would be tough to finish in one sitting. Their pound cake with strawberry jam and butter cream was lovely. I haven't tried the German chocolate slice yet but it also looks amazing. Their iced chai was tasty, and they offer coffee drinks as well. Their cake prices seemed very reasonable and examples that were in the business looked gorgeous--I would definitely come here if I needed a specialty cake! Staff were friendly and worked quick. The building is lovely and inside has a nice atmosphere--looks like it could be a nice place to visit with a friend when they offer indoor dining again. The décor was cute with just the right splash of sass. I'll definitely be back here.

Sweet Surrender has so many dessert options, it’s often hard to choose! It has become a staple for our family gatherings for a to-go whole cake or pie.

An amazing collection of flavors. Maybe 30 different flavors of beautiful cakes...Raspberry Champagne, Double Chocolate and German Chocolate were our choices. My biggest complaint the chocolate was too rich (not a bad problem to have). We were visiting from out of town and pleased with the whole experience. Cute shop, eating on the patio on a nice spring evening. Overall... great!

Visiting from Tennessee and decided to try a local bakery for some sweets. Cupcake selection was very limited and the one I purchased was dry with not much flavor with bitter lemon icing. It also did not taste fresh. Husband got a cookie sandwich that he enjoyed. My daughter also tried a slice of strawberry as well and was not impressed. Also, staff was not friendly…

Absolutely the best cake I've had anywhere try all of then the banana rum and chocolate chip, strawberry, orange chocolate, Oreo. Moist light sweet but not too sweet. These ladies know what they are doing and the service was amazing fun polite knowledgeable and provided recommendations plus an extra flair for my girlfriends bday surprise, thank you!

We had the most excellent experience with Jessica and her crew for our wedding cake. When an unfortunate freak accident befell our original wedding cake vendor, we had to pivot with only 3 weeks remaining until our wedding day. The very first place that came to mind was Sweet Surrender after having ordered a bday cake through them previously (and it turning out so well!). Jessica took our email within minutes of sending and coordinated with us on a cake that not only met our expectations but absolutely crushed them (in the best way possible)! When the cake arrived on our wedding day, we were floored by the quality/beauty of the cake and when it was time to taste what they had made, let's just say it did not disappoint. If you are looking for a vendor that can give you an incredible cake with an amazing customer service experience to boot, look no further. Thank you Sweet Surrender!

2022 - Updating to say we used Sweet Surrender again for our gender reveal. The cake was absolutely perfect and delicious. The customer service as always was amazing, and they did an excellent job, especially within such a quick time. The cake flavor was strawberry with cream cheese frosting and was super yummy! Thank you again Sweet Surrender for helping us on another of our special events. 2017 - They were absolutely amazing from the moment we stepped into the door to the day of the wedding. The owner showed us all her past works and listened to the vision we had for our wedding cake and desserts table. My favorite part of our sweets table were the chinchilla shaped cookies they made for us. Everything I tasted was delicious and everyone raved about our three different cake flavors (Mint Julep, Strawberry Ganache, and Double Chocolate Ganache).

Cute little bakery! Currently no inside seating (07\30\22) but the chocolate chip cookies were amazing! The salted caramel truffle MIGHT have been a little oversalted, but that's really picking nits. Your mileage may vary. Nonetheless, a hidden gem!

An amazing bakery on historic Frankfort Avenue! I found this while visiting Louisville and had to try it. During Covid-19, they've been pick-up only, but it seems to be working out great. They post their menu daily on social media so it's always up to date and there's such a huge selection! I love that they sold cake slices because I definitely didn't need a whole cake lol. The red velvet is incredible, and the cannoli's are delicious! I'll definitely be back!

The desserts are very tasty! I love their cakes! It is a really good place to find that yummy delicious dessert. The only problem is their employees are extremely serious and not very outgoing. It gives a feeling of awkwardness when buying something that is supposed to make you so happy. :(. Sorry just had to say it.

The food is great. I mean top notch. However, I will not be going back until they remove their mask mandate (irregardless of vax status). It is obscene to have to use a mask when ordering and eat outside in the cold, at one of 2 old dirty tables, with crummy plastic forks, out of crummy plastic to-go bins that don't even hold the cake in them. Ohh, and all while the cigarette smoke from the bar next blows in your face. Talk about a fun End of the date. Either way, can't hate on the food. It is darn good, as always.

This is my favorite dessert spot in Louisville by a wide margin. The friendliest staff, tastiest cakes, and later hours. The lemon pound cake is perfection 🍋

The birthday cake I order was beautiful! It was Lisa Frank themed. More importantly it was absolutely delicious. I submitted images via email to be printed on cake , and images for color scheme. The process was seamless. I got the 6” cake with 3 layers, and I think it could serve at least 8. The decorator here definitely knows their stuff, and was very helpful with choosing decorations and flavors.

Delicious hot chocolate, served with a smile and a great recommendation on a gluten free desert. The space is small, but cozy and it's fun to see all of the desert offerings when you walk in the door. I'll be making this a regular stop whenever I'm in town!
