Living just outside of NYC, I have been to some great bakeries. That being said this is perhaps one of the best bakeries I have been to anywhere in the US. The staff is very sweet and cordial. I suggest getting there by 9 am to get a better pick of things as they often do run out. Came to Louisville for the weekend and end up going all three days. A++ well done.

This is my first time eating Nords donuts but it won’t be my last. After tasting these donuts I realize that Nords is one of the two best bakeries in the city. The other one being Plehn’s bakery in St. Matthews. These donuts seem to have recipes going back to the early 20th century Germany. I was surprised not only at the flavor and freshness but the detail and uniqueness of these donuts. I now know why Nords is rated one of the best donut bakeries in the city. Friendly people and award winning bakery goods make Nord’s a winning combination.

It’s always busy and there is always a line that can say a lot about the taste of those amazing pastries and the prices are unbelievable only $1 and they make them every morning. They fresh and ready to go. The team are always on top 👍. And the bakery is always clean. I recommend this place 100%.

Walked into the bakery at 6am and was greeted with a light, sweet scent of happiness; my eyes were bouncing around with excitement at the freshly made goodness. The very kind gentleman came from the back to take my order so I wouldn't have to wait for the customer ahead of me that had a large order. He was patient as I picked a variety of donuts to make my dozen and was genuinely polite. Definitely what I needed at 6 in the morning; you could tell that he loves his job. My family and I devoured half of the box as soon as they made it through the door. --Must Check Them Out.

Got a dozen donuts and a quart all for a great price. I've been told the line can get crazy but luckily it was raining and the line wasn't too bad. Really enjoyed the red velvet donut and the one with the bacon strip on top! Overall all the donuts were phenomenal!

Finally got the honor of trying Nord’s bakery. Worth every second. The maple and bacon donut is the best donut I’ve ever ate. So much flavor. I can see why they say they’re one of the best donut shops in America.

The mark of a great bakery: we showed up around 10 AM on a Sunday, almost all the racks were sold out and they were still filling up new racks with fresh goods. What a great place for a sweet and subtle tasty Treat. Everyone who visits Louisville should visit this place. You can count on good attention to health code and the well-being of customers.

First time experience - wonderful staff and superb product. We came to Louisville for the first time and wanted to try this bakery based on what we saw online. So many wonderful choices- we trade quite a few while we were here and all were delicious. They are extremely busy however the staff is wonderful and the lines move very quickly. Are too personal favorites were the pecan and German chocolate Danish along with the pretzel, custard chocolate, maple bacon and crunch. With that said there is little that you can get here that isn't good. Note they also have wonderful bread at reasonable prices and other baked goods and cute including some beautifully decorated cookies. I can't thank the staff for making us feel so welcome as first time visitors. Good idea to place your order ahead if you can to ensure you're not disappointed. Highly recommend

The donuts are 1.15 but I only had 1 paper dollar and they generously gave me a delicious Maple Glazed long John!

Great doughnuts overshadowed by poor customer service. The associate working the counter was incredibly rude and made my friend and I feel stupid for asking if they had a certain type of doughnut. Honestly disappointed would be an understatement with how I feel about the customer service and I feel as if employees like this detract from the business overall. Shame.

Nords vs King Donuts. Box on the left is King Donuts, box on the right is Nords Bakery. Both are lite and fluffy donuts, both are delicious, and both are similar in price. Nords donuts are bigger in size and a better value for the money. Nords chocolate round donuts has way more chocolate than Kings, see the picture. Also Nords has a larger variety of flavors (maple bacon donut). Both places are delicious, Nords is superior

In one word YUMMY!!! My mouth is watering right now!!! These donuts melt in your mouth. Light and delicious. What a great spot! I stumbled upon this bakery and was blown away. I had to wait in line outside, and am so glad I did. I would wait again in a heartbeat!! The ladies were very helpful and friendly. Thank you!!!!

I got there around 1 and unfortunately most of the donuts and pastries were sold but I understand since it was later. That said I did get some bacon maple bars, French fry donut and a cinnamon roll, which were all very good. I plan on coming here again earlier in the day.

Nord's Bakery is just unmatched. their maple flavors are absolutely amazing and the texture of their donuts are perfect - not too dense, not too oily, and not too light like Krispy Kreme. they run out fast for good reason! they also have adorably decorated cookies (derby theme right now!) and some cupcakes. lovely place, lovely people!

The best doughnuts in Louisville! Voted top 100 doughnut shop in the US, #25 to be exact. Every single item at Nord’s is top quality. When I’m not getting doughnuts I will pick up an alligator. Not sure why they call it an alligator but it’s 100% worth it. It’s great to share with family and friends, or you can challenge yourself to try and finish it all by yourself. Best to get there first thing in the morning to get the best selection and beat the crowd. Don’t be discouraged if you see line out the door, it will move quickly.

Just always the best friendliest helpers, and well the best doughnuts! You should call the day before if you freaky want your 1st choice. It go early. You never know what's going on in Louisville and a lot of visitors won't be there ahead of you!

This was my first time coming to Nord's Bakery and it was an amazing experience. They were so polite and sweet, I got a cookie cake for my son's 8th birthday and OMG! It tastes so good!! Thank ya for making my son's birthday. 💞💞

We came around 10:30a because a friend had told us these were the best donuts in the city. The donuts were fine but the shop was uncomfortably dirty. The display windows looked like they hadn't been cleaned in months and most surfaces had a coating of dust/grime. Maybe the donuts are phenomenal earlier in the morning but I'm not sure that makes the dirty shop worth it unfortunately.

I wish I could give Nord's 6 stars. By far some of the best doughnuts I have had and compare to my hometown favorites. Over the course of 4 days PopCon bought multiple dozens. We tried nearly everything they had and at the end of each day we never had any left.

Go early! They are fantastic and a line will form. If you go around 8:30-10 expect little offerings as they have been bought up. One of the best donuts in Louisville, easily my top 3. I like the maple bacon, butter twist and apple fritters the best. Only complaint is the coffee. Would suggest going next door for that. But the donuts are exceptional!

This place is an absolute treasure. We went around 830am. The lady that helped us was so sweet and helpful! We bought more than we could eat, but everything was amazing. The unique flavors of donuts are fun and definitely tasty, but the vanilla cake donut was divine and the pastry with caramel and pecans on top was absolutely to die for. I wish we had found this place on day 1 of our vacation so we could have enjoyed it more! If we are ever back in Louisville, we will be back. 10/10 highly recommend!

Cute little bakery at the heart of Louisville. Be an early bird to be able to choose from all their variety. Everything is delicious, but we would highlight the cinnamon buns and the maple syrup and bacon doughnuts. Highly recommended!
