Very safe atmosphere with tins of activities ranging from basketball, swimming, archery, star gazing, tennis, pickle ball, bmx racing, mountain biking, running, soccer. You name it, Tom Sawyer will provide it. It is a overlooke... People often mention park, trails,

I have visited this park since I was a child. I run and bike here daily. Very safe atmosphere with tins of activities ranging from basketball, swimming, archery, star gazing, tennis, pickle ball, bmx racing, mountain biking, running, soccer. You name it, Tom Sawyer will provide it. It is a overlooked park to hike. You will find turkeys, deer, snapping turtles, pond turtles, fox, frogs, and ducks.

Best state park for sports activities such as swimming, soccer, indoor sports like table tennis, badminton, chess and many more. You can do walks and follow trails and even walk your dog in this park. Family friendly and good for kids to swim and visit especially during summer.

Nice park that I've used for years for daily 3 mile dog walks. We begin at the Sawyer Hayes Center and walk through the various trails. Unfortunately mowing and trail upkeep continues to degrade. They mow the trails 2 times per year at best, and the walks are less pleasurable with the high grass. Especially with the increased number of ticks in the area. Trim trimming in the trail areas rarely occur. It's a shame since this was previously a very nice park for walking the trails.

Beautiful park with many great facilities. Grounds are kept clean and well manicured. Hiking, pickleball, soccer, tennis, and more to di. Even geocaches and plenty of sinkholes to admire.

This is a very large park with almost anything you would want, depending on which section of the park you go to. Sports fields, walking and hiking trails, more private areas where we have done family photos, playgrounds, ets.

Terrible trail maintenance. Lots of dead falls and widow makers hanging over the trail. Office says it opens at 8 but doors where still locked at 830 and did not have information on hand that should have been basic to haves. Illegal trash dump 50 ft from the parking lot by the community building. Do better

I really like this park. It's having special good energy. Trees are beautiful. Park is well maintained. Park is divided to 2 area's, sports area and "wild" area. In the wilder area you can observe a lot of animals, like roe deers, racoons, turtles, birds, once I was able to see ground hog.

This is an awesome park with lots of things to do. The best thing about the park is that there are no cars allowed anywhere in the park except for the parking lot. You can let you little ones run all around the park workout having to worry for cars. Park has a lot of things you can do there: archery range, BMX course, playground, 12 tennis courts, gardening, picnic shelters, etc.

My favorite park in all of Louisville. So many memories attached to this home away from home. I recommend to anyone. Opportunities for sports, hiking, playgrounds, swimming, dog park. Plenty of deer and other wildlife to encounter. Everything you need in one location. Beautiful place.

Pretty great park. I really liked the pool. There is a diving board, which is cool. There was a decent amount of lifeguards, but the only thing I suggest is that the lifeguards enforce the rules at the pool. There is a rule of a break when children must leave the pool and only the adults can stay in. Some lifeguards didn't really seem to care. It didn't bother me as much but if there is a rule in place, it should be followed. Other than that, I like it. It was about $6 for children and maybe a little more for adults (13+). The pool was big and went from 3 ft to 11 or 12ft of water.

Tom Sawyer is a great place to walk around and explore in. There is a lot of trails that will take you through some beautiful scenery, and see some awesome things. There's is way more to do that just hike and explorer though. They have an indoor clubhouse with pool and tennis, and archery range, a BMX corse, an observatory and soo much more!

While not overly large, Sawyer State Park is a great mixed use park with lots of fields and trails. Even though it's heavily used, the park is kept in great shape and clean.
