😠 We run a store next door to this cafe. Not only is the owner ( our landlord) the worst person in the world to deal with but honestly I wouldn’t eat at his restaurant if I was being held at gun point. I have personally seen plenty of roaches and we are literally in the same building. He often smokes... People often mention owner, restaurant,

We run a store next door to this cafe. Not only is the owner ( our landlord) the worst person in the world to deal with but honestly I wouldn’t eat at his restaurant if I was being held at gun point. I have personally seen plenty of roaches and we are literally in the same building. He often smokes cigarettes in the restaurant or bathroom. At one point he got in a physical fight with one of my employees. I highly recommend you DO NOT EAT HERE!!!!

The sign outside said ANY sandwich $5. Go inside, the menu says $6. The man behind the counter (I assume the owner) said the menu was wrong because he's working on a new one, find out it's actually $7. Whatever, I ordered a chicken shawarma wrap anyway. I also ordered fries for $3. The menu listed the chicken shwarma with lettuce and onion as toppings along with a sauce of choice. I asked if he has toum, which I had to explain was garlic sauce. He said he does and went back in the kitchen to start cooking our to go order. He came back to the dining area to tell me that the chicken shawarma has more toppings than listed on the menu, I said okay, it's all fine. The only noises I heard coming from the kitchen were the dings of a microwave and plastic wrinkling. He brought the food out and we went home to eat. The shwarma wasn't as the man described and it had tzatziki sauce and not toum. I only ate one bite because it had cucumber, which I don't like (thankfully my boyfriend traded me his, which was dry and mostly flavorless). The portion of fries was very small. It was literally about 10 big fries. I have eaten at many Mediterranean and middle eastern restaurants and this one is the worst. Please read the owners responses to other negative reviews. One reviewer says the food is served on paper plates and the owner denies that. Look at the pictures that the owner uploaded himself on here. Paper plates. I'm not one to usually call people out, but this man is outright and intentionally lying to and deceiving customers. Edit: I was walking by after I posted this review and took a picture of the banner in the window that says "ANY sandwich $5". Second edit: The picture I had added was removed so I uploaded it again. This man is a liar, bad at business, and conducts himself unprofessionally.

I love local businesses, I love Bardstown road and I love Mediterranean food as well. I worked at a very good Mediterranean restaurant (The Grape Leaf on Frankfort Avenue) over 20 years ago and whenever I travel, that is what I seek. I am a local authority on this. I've been to every single Mediterranean/Middle Eastern restaurant in the area. This one is the worst. I abhor writing negative reviews however, every time I've been in this place, it's been a nightmare. I also can't stand it when people falsely advertise (bait and switch). I, like other reviewers here, was baited by the $5 gyro sign out front as I drove by. Went in and the gyro is $7, not a huge deal, right but... not really sitting well with me. After I see on the menu the Gyro is $7, I recall that this owner he had ran another restaurant out of that space years before and did the same with the buffet (he put a sign out front that said "daily buffet $9, then once inside it was $12. Not to mention it was dry, over cooked, bland, under spiced and not lovingly prepared food). Additionally, the space has really low ceilings, is devoid of any kind of ambiance and we have some of the best tap water in the U.S. here, however he will only charge you by the bottle of bottle water. You have to be able to offer your customers free water, that is customary and typical. I've never been to a restaurant where they charge for a glass of water. Furthermore, they only serve on paper plates and both of these things add up to unnecessary garbage. In closing, when I pointed out the false advertising thing, the owner proceeded to cuss me out and follow me into the street aggessively as if he wanted to fight. Save your money and go down the street to Shiraz, or Grape Leaf, or Safiers, or Maira's WAY BETTER food, super gracious owners, better service, nicer environment, you can eat on a real plate with silverware and you won't be charged for water or misled on prices. I'm sure the owner will post some snarky excuses in response and claim no responsibility or ownership for his shortcomings as a business owner as I can see he's done on other reviews here. It's okay thought, I forgive YOU! :0) I will just never be back again.

The place sounds great however they have a 10 minimum for all card purchases and no sign to indicate that. Friends say it's great food unfortunately I don't carry cash because of where I work and I will not pay $10 for lunch just so you don't have to pay the debit fee.

The best gyro in town. Also, pay with cash. They offerd me a 10% discount, off my order, if I paid with cash. If you have never tried a gyro. Try this one, you will not be disappointed!

My brother and I came in here one day on a whim with a gyro craving. We were not disappointed, the food was fantastic, and the guy running the place was as nice as could be. It's a quaint little joint, but don't let that decieve you, there's a reason these little mom and pop places stay in business. The food speaks for itself!

Delicious and authentic Mediterranean goodness! Having grown up eating Lebanese food, the Gyro Dinner was reminiscent of one of Mom's home-cooked specialties. Went with my girlfriend and we were both greatly satisfied and will be returning soon!

One man show. Pretty sure the owner/server/cook runs the entire operation. Nice guy and good food though

Like the authentic taste. Host was friendly and food was fresh served. You can have buffet there. Just make sure to call the restaurant before you go, coz sometimes they closes early.
