Get the filet and shrimp and grits. The steak melted in my mouth and I've NEVER EVER EVER IN MY ENTIRE LIFE had shrimp and grits as good as the chef here does. He's amazing. I wish i could come him. These pictures are not the two entrees referred to above but instead are taken at a private dinner we attended but even on a regular night we have great food and amazing time.

We shared another spectacular meal at Bourbons Bistro this evening. Our party of six was well taken care of by Randy. She was just a pleasure to talk with and was more than attentive. Chef McFarland and Sous Chefs Sewell and Varju are truly artists with their menu and preparation. Hands down, the best Shrimp and Grits in town. The Bread Pudding for dessert was perfectly portioned for one or more. All of this, and I haven't talked about the bar. Their Paper Plane is exquisite, and the bourbon selection is fairly priced. Looking forward to our next visit.

Thank you for a wonderful event for my sister's Bachelorette. We had a group of nine ladies from across the country coming together to celebrate my sister who LOVES bourbon. We had a very full weekend- and our dinner and tasting with the owner Jason stand out as a top event. The food was fabulous- all the steaks were cooked perfectly to order, the vegetarian loved her mushroom pasta, the server Desi was perfectly attentive, and Jason was a wonderful host for a bourbon tasting with mostly amateur bourbon drinkers and one lover of bourbon (my sister). If you are on google looking for a space to host a private event in Louisville- you have just found your spot. Book this place. The night was so awesome I forgot to take pictures of the food! I have already recommended this restaurant to a friend traveling to Kentucky in a few weeks.

We really enjoyed our meals and drinks at Bourbon Bistro. Our waitress was outstanding and offered good recommendations. Great location in a more lively part of town. Will come back.

Service was not the best. Asked for a straw 3 different times and my friend had to ask for her drink twice. The portion size of the shrimp and grits and Asparagus was laughable. The mussels weren't that flavorful and don't expect the cheese to melt on your burger. I wish our experience was better as we were celebrating my birthday.

Excellent. Best salmon dish I have ever had. Great bourbon selection, cocktails, service and reasonable prices for fine dining on Frankfort avenue.

We went there to celebrate our anniversary and loved everything we ordered, especially the sea bass entrΓ©e which is a chef special. We love this place and will definitely go back.

Overall great experience. Nice selection of bourbon and good eats. The reason I gave 4 stars for the food is due to the bread pudding dessert. While flavorful with amazing cherries on top, the amount of sauce/glaze on the plate was complete overkill.

Enjoyed dinner, bourbon tasting and cigars as part of the Black Bourbon Run. Great hospitality from owner Jason Brauner (Buzzards Roost). Amazing experience!

Outstanding! Service was excellent, and the food was as well! I had the shrimp and grits and it is one or perhaps the best I've had. My party had the pork chop and they were as pleased as me. Has the bread pudding for desert and could not believe how good bread pudding could be! It was phenomenal! They excel in all areas of service, food, drinks, and atmosphere! Easily 5 stars!

When we walked in the hostess asked "What can I help you with?" I have been in the service industry for years and I was both confused and offended by this question. This is a restaurant and we would like to be seated to eat. The hostess asked how big our group was and disappeared. Another woman appeared and asked us the same questions. Our server was a young male who was rarely present. He never asked us how our food was or if we would like another bottle. His loss. He could have sold 2 or 3 more. The food was good. The steak was slightly overcooked but palatable. Before we were even halfway through he asked if we'd like dessert. As a table of all service industry people we would tip well even though the service was sub par. But, they tacked on autograt. It felt like an insulting slap in the face. Would not return.

Had a reservation on a Friday night. Service and food was excellent. It’s a very romantic atmosphere. Although the place is not overly fancy, it is extremely nice and charming. Loved the lights in the dining room, the brick and the wood. The food was worthy of a fine restaurant, presentation and taste were perfect. I would highly recommend it ! Prices were very fair. We found plenty of parking in the street.

When it comes to the perfect drink and food experience, this is where you need to go. We were first greeted by the host who had a smile ear to ear. The ambiance and music fit the greeting we received. Warm and welcoming. We ordered the fried oysters , bone marrow , bourbon chop , and bread pudding. Every dish and its presentation was a 10/10. It was so good , I had to ask for a side of more to take home with me. Executive Chef Jeremy came out and welcomed us after we finished dinner. For a moment , it felt like I was home enjoying a family meal with friends and family. This is hands down the best place for an incredible experience. Thank you chef , the rest of the bistro team, and Molly !!!!

Wife and I went her for date night. Surprised it was relatively empty. Then we saw the 2 pages of bourbon choices and it made a tad more sense. Wine selection was decent flavors were great. Wife had the burger and liked it. I had the shrimp and grits and flavors were great, best around town, bummed I had to peel the tails of my shrimp. Service was great. The garlic and goat cheese bread was tasty. Did not participate but the bourbon choices were vast and the tasting options were price friendly.

The layout wasn't overly fancy, but the food was fantastic. We had an outdoor table, and our casual attire was completely appropriate. Our server was patient and knew all about the menu. I would highly recommend the fried oysters. I'm not usually an oyster fan, but they were out of this world. We pretty much ate family style and nimbled off of each other's plates to get a taste of everything. There wasn't anything that I tried that I didn't like! Don't skip dessert, or you'll truly be missing out on some fantastic bread pudding. Really good food and down to earth atmosphere.

SUCH an incredible dining experience, the food was delicious and the drinks were amazing (i only got a mocktail so i can't speak on the other drinks but i tried all three mocktails and they were all great!). but most importantly the waitress was so sweet, i believe her name was brandi? me and my friends were scared at first that the staff would look down on us for being college kids in casual outfits alone at a fancy restaurant but she was SO kind and welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed. very great altogether experience :)

Beautiful place! I had the best old-fashioned cocktail. It is strong but loves it. I had spicy fried oysters. I enjoyed it a lot. I love spicy. Then I had Bourbon Chop. It was so delicious. I really enjoyed the green beans and the mashed potato, but I love the pork chop more. I would like to come back for more bourbon and a few delicious dishes.

This was an excellent place for eating, bourbons, and ambience. We had the mussels and fried oysters with grits. The grits were outstanding! The rest of our meal was wonderful as well. Our server was Finley and she rocked! She was helpful, friendly, and attentive. She offered excellent recommendations for our bourbon flights and meal choices. She really helped to of an already weekend experience. 100% would come here again and recommend to others.

I tried the Spicy Fried Oysters, Garlic and Goat Cheese spread & the Salmon cakes. Jeremy the chef was amazing. I really wanted to try everything!!! Oops I forgot....the Chilean Salmon was simply divine! Kudos to the waitstaff....Margo was magnificent!!! The fireplace on the patio added to the greatness of this meal.

Delicious restaurant. Staff was super friendly and the facility was clean and put together. Lots of great bourbon choices with reasonable prices. The mushroom ravioli on their menu was killer!

Dinner out during the week. Long shotgun type dining room. It would have been a cozy table except we were next to a group of 10 who were enjoying themselves immensely. Good for them! Just made it a bit loud. The cocktails were excellent and bourbon on the rocks was a generous pour. The menu is limited but enough variety in appetizers, salads, entrees and sides. Our order was prepared and presented beautifuly. A nice date night out!

Love this place! Went here on a recommendation and was glad I did. Good bourbon selection! The food was outstanding. I had the spicy fried oysters to start. I love oysters, but usually not a fan if they are fried. However, the description intrigued me. They weee fantastic! They have a smaller dinner menu and I went with the pork chop. Sooo good! I substituted the parmigiana grits for the potatoes. That was a great choice In my opinion. As with most places the staff and atmosphere plays a big part in the experience. They did not disappoint. Very friendly and accommodating people all around. Will be back!

WONDERFUL! We were a group of 10. Table ready upon our arrival. Were greeted and felt very welcome. Our group tried several appetizers and had drinks during happy hour for $2-3 dollars off. Our sever was so nice. We never wanted for any thing. She was very attentive and helpful. Average entrees $20-35 each and were full meals did not need to order any sides. No one ordered dessert. The restaurant is very comfortable with white table clothes and beautifully lighted just right. You can read the menu without your phone light! We will return!!!
