We ordered turkey, brisket, sausage, pulled pork, fries, coleslaw, and Mac n cheese. The brisket was a tad bit overcooked. The pulled pork was tender but lacked flavor. The turkey was moist and seasoned well. The sausage was not spicy or over seasoned and was miost and delicious. The fries were slightly overcooked but good. The coleslaw was too sour for my taste. The Mac n cheese was prepared well and tasted good, especially when mixed with brisket. Overall, I would have to say that come back.

Love this place they was about to close in 5 minutes and they were so nice to us. The manager gave us a free peach cobbler w/ homemade whipped cream. The brisket is awesome smoked just right with those pickles you can't leave without

We tried this place out after Frisch's wait was too long for a table. We were very happy with our choice. The food was tender and delicious with good sized portions for the price. We will be back.😃

I walked into City BBQ last Sunday just before noon and asked them if they could accommodate a group of 20 that would show up "soon." Without hesitation 2 employees led me into the dining area and began arranging tables and chairs in a way that was ideal for us. Very impressed with their attitude and service! I then ordered, and my my meal was ready in about 10 minutes. Delicious! After having dined there about a half dozen times before, I knew it would be. This place has never disappointed. My whole group seemed to have enjoyed the experience: no one had to wait too long for their food and they all enjoyed their meals. I even caught some kudos for making a good pick!

This is one of the best restaurants I have had the pleasure of eating at ever! The food is always excellent, and the staff is phenomenal, especially Bob! Bob has become great friends with myself and my co-workers, and always greats us by name and takes the time to walk around and check on everyone while eating, and always makes any mistake right! Bob is such an amazing employee and I’m sure any place would be more than happy to have him. There is an excellent outside eating area if the weather is nice and they are always fully stocked up. One of the best parts about the place is the food is made right in front of your eyes! Don’t hesitate to try it!

Stopped in to grab some food before going to an event. I ordered the Cowbell Sandwich and was unsure which side item to get. I asked about the potato salad (I am really picky about potato salad) and I was given a spoonful to taste and it was absolutely delicious. It reminded me of homemade potato salad so I ordered a side of potato salad. The cashier was very pleasant and helpful and took the time to answer my questions even though the restaurant was busy. When I ate the rest of my food I was not disappointed. The Cowbell was seasoned very well and exceeded my expectations. The hush puppies were good as well! I will definitely go back!

From the moment we arrived to the last second of our visit it was amazing. The restaurant was extremely clean. The food was quickly and flawlessly prepared. The staff was pleasant and extremely helpful. The portions were generous and the flavors were spot on. The selection of sauces was perfect for all the different preferences represented in our party. The brisket was absolutely perfect and almost melted on the tongue. This was one of my best dining experiences in all of Louisville, and hands down the top BBQ around.

We have a City closer to where I live in NKY and it is consistently good to great especially when it comes to their brisket. After trying 3 other BBQ joints in Louisville during my visit to Louisville, I had to come to City. Ordered the Pick 2 Meats then ordered 2 sides. Got brisket and pulled pork then fries and Collards for my sides. It was rib night so threw in 3 ribs. Ribs were smoke flavored and moist, not fall off the bone moist, but great outside crunchiness with moist meat inside. The sliced brisket was great with that melt in your mouth fattiness that makes brisket so good. The pulled pork was moist, but lacked flavor. It was good, but not my fave. Fries excellent as always and the Collards were appropriately cooked and seasoned. Portion sizes pretty good.Staff at counter were nice. If I could give 4.5 stars I would. VERY GOOD BBQ.

Ordered close to closing the guy came out shoved my food in my car. Got home the fries where literally soaked in oil. Plus they wouldn’t replace the food. I just had to leave. The ribs had no rub or sauce. Terrible! My first visit was good some time ago. Won’t visit again! Don’t deserve a star!😡 SHOULD HAVE WENT TO SMOKEY BONES!!

Ordered the bbq brisket sandwich with Mac and cheese. Weather was great and used the patio outside. Our food was served warm and was quick. The Mac and cheese was ok, it was not as creamy as I thought it would be and borderline dry. Brisket was great tho, it was moist and tasted great and did not disappoint. I tried 3 of the bbq sauces but honestly their wasn't much of a taste difference so I ended mix all 3 of them. Overall, it was good

Ordered Carry out. 1lb of the Beef Brisket, Potato salad, Corn Bread, Peach Cobbler, and Banana Pudding. The Brisket is to die for!!!! Superb. If I was only reviewing that it would be 5 ⭐. Potato salad was excellent. Peach Cobbler was not very sweet almost bitter in my opinion, and the pudding was pretty good.

Went in for lunch. Reasonable prices for BBQ sandwiches and sides. Hefty portion of beef biscuit. The bun was a little greasy where it was handled. Baked beans were flavorful and had chunks of meat inside. Lemonade sweet and tart! Perfect. The dining room is an open layout so you are not sitting too close to the neighboring table.

The food here was phenomenal! I haven't had some ribs that good in years. The meat just came off the bone so easily, and the sauce was a perfect combination. The sides I had were greens and Mac n cheese, I didn't like the mac n cheese so much, but the greens where like grandma used to do them! My girlfriend had the pull pork sandwich, which was great as well! We'll be back here for sure!

I went here with a colleague for lunch one day, he had raved about it. I ordered the Nashville hot chicken sandwich. What they gave me was not that, it was chicken jerky. It was inedible. I showed them the chicken and was given another sandwich but it definitely soured my opinion. Took some pictures of the chicken. My coworkers didn’t believe it was chicken.

There's something funny about the taste of their meats. I think that the rub they use has a lot of liquid smoke or cooked with a flavored wood. It's not tasty to me. Add to the fact that each side dish and a drink is priced separately, it can really add up.

We went early evening around 4:30 just before it got really busy. We had the sampler and couldn't finish it so we had left overs. The service was great very friendly. The banana pudding was really good. The peach cobbler was o.k.

Tonight, shortly before closing, we arrived with two starving football practice teens and the wonderful woman taking our order exceeded expectations! She was happy, glad we arrived and offered the boys several sides to try and soft drinks while we waited! What an incredible welcome and intro to great food we might not have tried.. I love the food and even more, the great people all smiling as we entered just before closing! Strongly recommend!!!

Prices were not to bad. Alittle odd you have to order your sides seperate as they don't come with the normal 2 meat plate. Had the sausage and it reminded me more of breakfast sausage. Also had the 3 ribs. They were OK size and very boney. Had a weird incident with a small peice of plastic in my food like a plastic fork in one of the ribs. The greenbeans were decent. The Mac and cheese was OK. The corn pudding was very good. Overall it was not great but not bad. I don't think it really sticks out. But I would try again.

The four of us went after church one Sunday, they opened at 11. We were one of the first ones there, our service was excellent and over the top! We split a barbecue pulled pork the other people we were with got brisket, and everybody was happy with their side dishes, which the baked beans were out of this world. I really like those probably one the best around. Coleslaw was good. The wife said the french fries were not cooked long enough for her for her. There were plenty of sauces, condiments, plates. The tea was good too. we will definitely be back! The other people we were with liked it too! The price was reasonable. The staff was great. Banana pudding was good too!!! We will be back!

We picked up our order and brought it home to eat for Thanksgiving. I have never had smoked anything. WOW that was the best turkey I have ever had. I will always buy turkey from City BBQ when I have any kind of outing or get together. We also got a few side dishes too. They were excellent also. We got corn pudding of which I have never liked and CB's was very good. My husband and both went back for seconds. My friends all had been telling us how good CB is and they were absolutely right. I will recommend CB to everyone. They are #1 in our book + I didn't have to cook. That makes it even better.

Highly recommend for wedding catering or any other catering! City BBQ catered my wedding in Radcliff, KY and they were amazing. The staff arrived in a timely manner and had everything set up to start eating dinner. One of the staff members made mine and my husbands plate and walked to our seat, which was incredibly thoughtful and kind. In my opinion, good food is one of the biggest parts of a wedding so it was very important to me that we offer our guests a good meal. That is exactly what this was and more, everyone still is raving about the food and how good it was. To top it all off, we were given "midnight snack" boxes just for my husband and I and the leftovers were packed and stored in the refrigerator to take at the end of the night. City BBQ was an affordable option that provided an amazing meal for both me, my husbands and our guests and I would highly recommend them for any kind of catering.

This is a good place for bbq. The service is great and you can dine indoors or outside. There is plenty of seating even for a busy lunch or dinner hour. Staff is friendly and courteous. I like to smoke meats at home and so I may just be biased in giving the food 4 stars out of 5 but it seems like some of the meats are just missing something seasoning wise. It's still good and I would certainly recommend this place to anyone.

We were visiting family in Louisville ~ 3 weeks ago and wanted to find out first hand why this is their favorite bbq place. This is a really great spot for smokehouse bbq - staff are friendly and eager to make recommendations. Three of us shared the hot chicken tenders, the City Sampler with a side of ribs, cucumber salad, sweet tea and lemonade. We had to wait a little for the food but it was soo definitely worth the wait - the meats were all smoked to perfection and soo delicious. All the sides especially the mac and cheese what great flavor. There's a bbq sauce station with various sauces that vary in tangy, sweet, smoky flavor - our favorite was Swine Wine. This restaurant was so clean it's hard to believe they serve bbq with all those yummee sauces.

Waste of money! Went here because I had a taste for bbq and wanted to try something different. Got the Tuesday bone special. All my food was old, at least a day or two old. The ribs were tough and hard to chew in some pieces. Mac and cheese and beans were old and just terrible. The Tuesday special is apparently the leftover weekend food that didn’t sell🤮. I can’t recommend this place.

Its OK. Pork sandwich was dry. The highlight was all the sauce variations available. Typical BBQ joint.

Always delicious, the staff was super friendly and food made quickly and fresh! Not really much I can fault them for its a bit pricey but it's in a highly desired area and inflation is a reality in the food service business. I'll still go back as it's good just a bit high for my bbq tastes

I have never in my life had such a quality experience in my life. Each employee that addressed me approached with a smile and kindness. Bob was the kind of manager any establishment would desire at the head of their business. It was apparent immediately how much knowledge he had for the business and how to interact with customers. He demonstrated rapport with his staff and I cannot write enough about how great of an experience I had interacting with this staff and the excellent food they provided. Thank you!

This was a great experience. Bob was my cashier. He was very nice and helped me order. He came around to every table asking if everyone enjoyed their meal. My food was prepared quickly and tasted excellent. The dining area was very clean. I will definitely be back.

First time ordering from City Barbeque and Catering. Pulled pork melted in my mouth. Even ate it without the bun just so I could get the full taste and I love bread. Would love to have had one container of sauce per sandwich. Potato salad was creamy and seasoned perfectly. Hopefully it comes in larger container for gatherings. French fries tasted good. They did not travel well. Probably better in house. I was so pleasantly full that I will eat my salad tomorrow. Looks fresh. Thank you for a very nice dinner. 😊💜
